Chapter 13. Where She's Back...
There was nothing before her eyes. Is this how it felt? Dying, that is... Althea wondered. Death was, quite, literally, nothing. If one were to die, they would never know that they had actually died. Normally, nobody would never be aware of that fact. Everyone else, of course, would. But that person wouldn't. However, this wasn't Althea' case. She knew she had died and that, she didn't want it.
Somewhere, she knew it was Lilith who caused this. Or who else will have this sort of supreme power?
She felt herself floating in a sea of... Nothingness, from where she desperately wanted to wake up.
------------------------------------------
"Biology is presented either as botany, zoology and microbiology or as classical and modern. The latter is a euphemism for molecular aspects of biology. Luckily, we have many threads which weave the different areas of biological information into an unifying principle. Ecology is one such thread which gives us a holistic perspective to biology..." Another known feminine voice.
With a suddenness, Althea looked around herself. A class. Full of students. A teacher. Who was explaining Ecology. This felt familiar. Where was she? With this thought in mind, Althea, quizzically, looked around herself.
"Are you okay?" Someone whispered from behind and Althea turned back, towards the source of this new sound, shocked. A concerned Liz was looking at her. It reminded her of the old days when they used to go school. Wait, Liz?
----------------------------------------
"How could this even happen?!" Althea whisper shouted. She realized she was back to her previous world. She was no longer Althea Dalisay, she was Adriana. And, as if that wasn't enough of a shock, she got to understand that she was already attending the university in Philippines. This clearly meant that the timeline in this world was running smoothly when out of nowhere original Althea' soul got killed and she got back. Something was clear from this situation. Lilith only wanted Althea, not Adriana. That was the only explanation of why it was always Althea and her soul, who'd die.
"I'm asking this again... Are you okay?" Liz asked from outside the door. Althea had excused herself to use the restroom and Liz followed her, due to the concern.
"I am... It's just..." She started but, what should she say to her friend.
"If you don't mind, I want to ask something..." Liz spoke again.
"Yeah, sure." She spoke half-heartedly.
"Do you... Remember him?" She asked, hesitant to know the answer.
"Him? Who?" Althea was quizzical. Did something happen while she wasn't here?
"Dewin... Do you remember him?" Liz asked again, in a confident voice, as if she knew that the answer was negative.
"I don't... Who's he?" Althea asked, a little afraid to know the answer.
"Your boyfriend for the past eleven months..." Liz' voice trailed off.
"A boyfriend? That too of past eleven months? It was just few months ago when I almost got killed in an accident, then how... Wait! It happened here, right?" Althea opened the door and suddenly questioned the last sentence.
"It did... But, the accident happened two years ago..."
"This can't..." Suddenly, she felt a ringing sensation in her head as if someone had put an alarm over there. Just what was happening here...
