The next day, I had already seen the news articles. That picture was everywhere. All over every social media platform. And with it came it's own set of ARMYs.
Most did not like the idea of their bias in a relationship.
And that made me feel like crap.
Yoongi was sleeping soundly beside me, facing the wall. I decided to get up and take a shower to clear away the negativity I had woken up to.

When I'd finished, I brushed my teeth and hair, then slipped into a simple outfit - a dark green sweatshirt with grey sweatpants and socks, then I headed downstairs to make breakfast.
Yoongi came trudging down the staircase not too long after, clad in comfortable clothes, his black hair slightly damp from where he had just washed it.

"Morning, baby."
"Hey, bub."

The two of us barely exchanged words, too caught up in this state of awkwardness we'd been put in.

He sat at the table, scratching his head and glimpsing at his phone, worry smeared across his face. I plated up our omelettes and joined him, the two of us sharing an awkward smile between us before digging in.

"So..." he started. "You must've seen the news articles."
"Y-yeah..."
"I'm so sorry. I...I really didn't want to drag you into this."
"Babe, don't apologise. It's okay."
"It's not okay. It's far from okay. I...can't believe some of the stuff people have said."
"It's inevitable, bub. They all care about you so much and they just don't want you to end up with the wrong person."
"They don't know you like I do."

My heart skipped a beat, lurching to my throat for a second.
He reached out for my hand, and took it in his, cold, slender fingers intertwining with mine.

"Baby...I want to ask you something."
"Ask away," I said, softly brushing his fingers with my thumb.

"If the whole world was to find out about us...how would you feel?"

I sighed.

"Scared..."

A beat.

"But happy."
