Zinnia woke to the ungodly screech of Primrose in search of her favourite headband in which she should have packed the night before, and not the day of leaving for school. She grumbled as she threw back her sheets with the scramble that one could imagine of a disgruntled 14 year old. Letting out a sigh she arose from her bed with a sleepy yawn, opening her door she could only hear the oh so familiar sound of her siblings bickering with each other.

"Stop stealing my stuff Poppy! MERLIN HOW CAN ANYONE FIND ANYTHING IN THIS PIGSTY!" Primrose shouted over the counter arguments of her little sister Poppy.

"As if i would take it, I don't want to look like a priss. HEY! Stop throwing my stuff everywhere" Poppy exhaustively argued. Zinnia's head peered out of her room to look at the scene unfolding before her. Although she hated when her family fought, their innocent bickering made it feel like home. She always advocated that a family that does not fight was a family manufactured by a chemistry set, she could not possibly fathom what a calm household would be like.

"Z, please get her out of my room" Poppy pleaded with her older sister. Poppy and Zinnia always had a close relationship. Not that she wasn't close with the rest of her family but Poppy seemed to look up to her, and Zinnia took that responsibility with a purposeful stride.

"I am merely an innocent observer" she sarcastically remarked in order to stirr maybe just a bit more chaos before Violet would set in and solve everything.

"Oh of course you're bringing her into this" the nagging voice of primrose spoke from inside the mess of Poppy's room. Primrose and Zinnia always had a troubled relationship. They still loved each other to death but they butted heads a lot, mainly because Zinnia believed that Primrose should let loose a bit as she seemed to be followed by a cloud of arrogance.

"Hey what's that supposed to mean?" Zinnia straightened up from the door frame she was leaning on. As she was about to descend on Primrose, Violet came in like a white night to settle things; a routine that was all too familiar to the girls of the house.

"Hey guys seriously shut up" Violet raised her voice like a true big sister, she promptly pulled out a headband and offered it to primrose who had emerged from the room in response to Zinnia's toying. "Found this in the bathroom" she reasoned. Primrose closed her mouth tightly and huffed, she swiftly grabbed the headband from Violet's hand and stormed off to her room to continue packing.

"Always a lovely chat Prim" Zinnia remarked. Violet looked at her and scowled disapprovingly.

"Come on poppy let's go get breakfast, i'll meet you downstairs" Violet said to her baby sister whilst giving Zinnia a side glance. Poppy looked between both of them and mumbled something alongs the lines of "never get to be a part..." as she skipped down the stairs.

"Do you always have to provoke her? Poppy looks up to you and you do this?" Violet pleaded. She promptly adopted the role of caring for the Beaumont siblings as she was the oldest in the school since Basil left. To be fair she was doing a fair job at it.

"Yes. Yes I do." Zinnia simply replied with a toothy grin.

"Whatever just get ready" she started to turn away "Oh and could you also wake up Aster, i've tried but he's not budging"

"Yes madam head girl" Zinnia spoke with a small salute to the ravenclaw. Violet rolled her eyes and laughed whilst descending the stairs.

Once Zinnia had aggressively shoved the forgotten items into her trunk with great difficulty, she skidded across the floorboards to her younger brother Aster's room. She noisily banged on the door and intruded to be met with the sleep boy tangled in his bedsheets.

"Get up slowpoke, the entire house is awake and I think Violet will be sent to Azkaban for murder if we dont get to the platform in time" she was met by nothing but a sleepy mumble to get out. She let out a huff and swiftly opened the blinds to let in the streaming sunlight. But to no avail. She resorted to stealing the bedsheets and throwing them down the stairs. Aster then got out of bed yelling at her.

"ZINNIA WHAT THE HELL I'M SLEEPING" he grumbled at her

"Breakfast is pancakes" she replied exiting the room and bounding downstairs. She walked into the kitchen and stole a pancake off of Basil's plate to sit down in her favourite place at the dinner table. The kitchen was one of her favourite rooms in the large cottage, not only because of her fathers cooking but because it reminded her of her family sitting around shouting over the table; she loved it.

"Bitch" was all that Basil could let out with a mouthful of pancakes and maple syrup dripping down his chin. Zinnia chuckled and pointed to her chin to indicate to Basil to clean up. Whilst old in years Basil was still a child at heart annoying Zinnia when he could as she did unto him.

"Watch the language young man, you never know what little creatures could be lurking in the kitchen" Dahlia scolded her eldest child. The muggle woman had settled into a wizarding household surprisingly well, but seemed to struggle more as her children would slowly be able to perform magic in the house. The first time Basil apperated downstairs she dropped the tray of lasagne whe was carrying to the table.

"Speaking of, has anyone seen Daisy?" Tristan her father questioned, ignoring the swearing for his son as he was equally guilty of the profanity thrown around in the household. As if it were timed, a little giggle was heard from under the table. Everyone seated at it ducked under it and noticed the small 4 year old cracking herself up with laughter at the prospect of hiding from everyone.
"You little shit" Zinnia laughed at the baby of the family. Violet let out a disapproving gasp whilst Basil and poppy chuckled in response

"Shit" little Daisy replied with, holding her hands over her mouth mischievously

"Dont say shit" Zinnia scolded

"Shit" is all she was met with

"If you don't say it again i'll give you a juice box" she offered to the little devil, holding her hand out as if she was making a business deal. Daisy excitedly shook it and jumped onto Zinnia's lap to poke holes in her plate of pancakes of which she stuck her tongue through. Moments later after a lively conversation about the geese in the garden and a glass of spilt orange juice, Primrose and Aster came stomping downstairs. Primrose with her hair secured behind a headband and aster rubbing his eyes.

"What happened to you two?" basil joked with the two. He seemed to share the same proclivity to stirring the pot as Zinnia did. He was ignored by primrose and he scruffed the hair atop Aster's head. Once they all sat down Zinnia took a simple moment to embrace the family she would miss so much going back to school. Of course she would still have Violet, Primrose and Aster but this would be the first year without Basil, and Poppy only being 10 wouldnt attend Hogwarts until next year. She was content as she had already seen her friends that summer at the Quidditch world cup as her father had gotten tickets from working in the Magical Sports regulation department. She shook out the nasty thoughts of the events that summer. Zinnia's thoughts were interrupted by a yell from her mother.

"WHO THREW THEIR SHEETS DOWN THE STAIRS" she scolded as she threw the covers on the couch.

"It was Zinnia"

"It was Aster"

The siblings blamed each other as Zinnia laughed mischievously. Dahlia emerged from the living room laughing at the antics of the siblings. Although she would sometimes be annoyed with the chaos of her seven children, she loved it nonetheless.

"Now children of the Beaumont Family, before we leave for another school year of insatiable learning and unparalleled fun, I must urge all of you to stay safe, keep your heads up high and look out for each other." Tristan enthusiastically made his traditional before school speech, he was joking most of the time but really meant what he said. " Not although the Beaumont house loses four members today and Hogwarts has tragically been stripped to only four Beaumonts in the lovely lovely castle, we must not forget to love one another and write to each other because not even the spitting of the earth could separate the Beaumont Bunch" she concluded with an upwards glance and dramatically raised arms. "Oh and Zinnia don't get killed this year, you did so well not to last year" he added. Zinnia chuckled as to not reveal her antics with Sirius Black last year.

This was met by the round of applause by the entire table and a kiss on the cheek from his wife. After the bunch had finished breakfast and dodged the flying dishes to the sink, everyone ascended the stairs to retrieve their trunks with the help of Poppy and attempted to help Daisy. A faint muffled goodbye was heard from Basil over the clunking of bags as he left for his ministry auror training. Once Zinnia had pushed her way downstairs with her bags, she darted upstairs to retrieve her small brown cat Maurice. He had been a gift from her family after nearly dying in her first year at hogwarts. That summer was one of her best since her parents would practically give her anything she asked for within reach.

As she carried the brown fluff downstairs she let Daisy have a cuddle with her as the family sorted themselves out. She sat outside and stared across the vast land of the hill she lived on, she took in how the sun glimmered off the pond and the flowers sat so elegantly on the water's surface, she retrieved her film camera from her shoulder bag and captured the moment. She had decided that would become a habit this year. As she looked at the horizon she could only imagine that the Weasley's and Harry had just left for the station right over the field.

After great difficulty, the entire family fit into Tristan's magical car (compliments of Arthur) and headed off to the train station.
