Liv's alarms went off at 6 in the morning waking Danny with a fright. He sat up quickly before he heard the laugh of the Harrington Girl. Liv had been sitting in her bed reading. Danny smiled awkwardly as he stared up at her. Her brown hair was slightly messy from sleeping and she had a tired look in her eyes.

Liv tilted her head as she observed the boy on the floor. His hair was all over the place due to tossing and turning in his sleep. He looked confused and unaware, clearly just having woken up.

"How did you sleep?" Liv asked putting her book down. She turned her body towards him. Danny rubbed his eyes and moved his hair out of his face.

"I slept well," he smiled tiredly. "How about you?"

"I couldn't sleep. I couldn't stop thinking about Barb," Liv frowned as she looked at Danny. The boy yawned before speaking.

"She probably just left. No reason to worry," Liv sighed. She knew Danny was right, but something in her was telling her that something was wrong. Really wrong. Liv got out of bed and walked towards her bathroom. Before she closed the door she looked at Danny who still sat on the floor.

"Hurry up and get ready. Leo's brother is taking us to school," Liv was about to close the door before Danny spoke, stopping her actions.

"Wait...Leo has a brother?" Danny looked at Liv trying to remember if Leo had mentioned anything last night. Liv nodded, "Yeah, his name is Joshua, but we just call him Josh. He's friends with Steve, but unlike my brothers other friends, Josh actually has a brain and is nice". Liv shut the door as Danny stood up and they both got ready for school.

Liv and Danny sat watching tv and eating eggos as they waited for Josh and Leo to arrive. The two kids turned when they heard heavy footsteps coming down the stairs. Liv rolled her eyes when she saw Steve enter the kitchen. Liv leaned closer to Danny and whispered in his ears, "Now that's why you don't drink. You wake up feeling like shit".

"I can hear you Liv!" Steve growled from the kitchen. Liv and Danny looked at each other and snickered. Before Liv could respond back and possibly hurt Steve's ego, the honk of a car was heard. Steve groaned in pain as he poured himself cereal.

Liv stood up and grabbed her back back, "That must be them". Danny followed Liv and grabbed his stuff. The Harrington sibling didn't acknowledge each other as the two kids left.

Liv grabbed Danny's arm and lead him towards Josh's red car. It was slightly worn down and some of the paint was chipping, but Josh kept driving it anyway.

Liv opened the back door and got in, Danny following right after. Once the two kids got comfortable, Liv looked up and smiled, "Morning Loser. Morning Josh".

Leo rolled his eyes at his friend while Josh laughed. Josh was a handsome boy. He had blonde, wavy hair that he kept in order and these blue eyes that were so mesmerizing. Josh always wore his signature charming smile that could get him anything he wanted. The oldest of the four smiled at Liv and Danny, "Good morning Liv and boy I've never seen before".

Liv introduced the Byers boy sitting next to her. "Danny this is Josh. Josh this is Danny. He's Jonathan Byers brother".

"Uh, hi," Danny gave Josh an awkward smile. Josh just smiled at Danny, "It's nice to meet you Danny. I know Jonathan. He's pretty quite, but I've seen him at school".

Josh stared driving towards the school and the four teens talked the entire way their. Danny really liked Josh. He was kind and funny, which was something you didn't find often in teenagers. When Josh pulled up to Hawkins Middle School, the three younger teens got out. They all waved bye to Josh as he got out and headed towards Hawkins High School. Liv turned to Danny, "So...what do you think about Josh?"

Danny smiled, "I like him. He's cool".

Liv smiled, gently elbowing the blue eyed boy, "I told you would like him".

It was now recess and Liv and Leo sat outside on the bleachers. The two talked but the girls attention kept drifting towards Danny who was playing baseball with his friends. Leo noticed his friends lack of focus and turned to look where Liv was facing. He raised an eyebrow at the sight of Danny. Leo snapped and got Liv's attention.

"What's up with you? You keep looking at Danny? Do you like him?" Leo teased. The Harrington girl just rolled her eyes shoving her best friend, "Of course I don't!"

"It sure seems like you do. You keep staring at him. All. The. Time." Before Liv could respond back she heard yelling. She looked over to see Lucas and Mike playing around. She wondered how they were with one of their friends missing. She knew it must be so hard for them. Ever since she could remember Will, Mike, Dustin, and Lucas were like siblings.

All of sudden, Troy and his boyfriend (Liv always thought there was something going on between them) walked over to Mike and his friends. Liv sat up straighter as she saw Troy talk to them and it didn't look like he was saying anything nice. When Troy tripped Mike, Liv stood up and stormed right towards the boy. Troy hadn't noticed the younger Harrington walk over so when she pushed him to the ground he fell with a scared yell.

"Awww. Poor little Troy is scared. Mess with them again and your ass is grass. Got that?" Liv stood over the boy with a glare that could make a grown man cry. All the kids attention was on Liv. Danny lowered his baseball bat and stared, confused at his friend.

Troy stood up with tears in his eyes and ran off. Liv rolled her eyes muttering "pussy" under her breath.

"That was badass"

Liv turned around to see the three boys staring at her in amazement. Dustin has been the one to speak as he walked over to the girl and put out his hand.

"I'm Dustin. Dustin Henderson" Liv reluctantly shook hands with Dustin before focusing her attention on Mike.

"Why was Troy messing with you?" She crossed her arms over her chest as she looked directly at Mike.

"He always messes with us. He was just talking trash about Will," Liv frowned as she looked over at Danny who was still looking at her from the baseball cage. The older twin tilted his head, but Liv just looked back at Mike.

"Just ignore that dumbass. What...what did he say about Will?" Liv asked cautiously. She noticed how the boys faces changed. They all looked sad.

"He, uh, said that Will was killed," Mike answered quietly. Liv's eyes widened. How could Troy be so insensitive? She gave Mike a reassuring smile.

"He's not dead. I bet he's fine. They'll find him in no time, I know it" The boys smiled softly at the girl. Liv gave them all a nod and walked back over to Leo who still sat on the bleachers.

"Wow. Way to help out Davis," Liv shoved him. Leo scoffed, "Why would I help them? It's not like they're my friends."

Liv rolled her eyes, "They may not be your friends, but have you thought about what they're going through? Will's missing and they're worried. How would you feel if I were to go missing, huh?"

"I would throw a party and celebrate," Leo smirked earning a sarcastic smile from Liv.

"I hate you," Before Leo could respond back Danny walked over to the two. Liv looked up and smiled at the boy who returned the gesture.

"Hey guys. Uh, I was wondering what happened back there? With Troy," Liv stared at Danny for a minute. She didn't want to tell him what Troy had said because she didn't want to see him get hurt even more by the words of a boy with the IQ of a fly. So Liv just put on a fake smile and said, "Oh it was nothing. Just Troy being Troy. I just put him in his place, so hopefully he doesn't mess with them again".

Danny nodded and walked backed to his friends. Liv let out a sigh as Leo looked at her, "That's not what happened, was it?"

"No. Troy said that Will was probably murdered. I just couldn't tell Danny that", Leo nodded and started talking about something else. But once again, Liv's mind was on Danny.

Josh sat on top of Jonathan's car along with Steve, Carol, Tommy, and Nicole. Josh kicked his feet bored out of his mind. He didn't know why Steve wanted to wait for Jonathan, but he suspected he didn't tell him because he wouldn't like it. After a few more minutes, Jonathan Byers walked over to them slowly. Steve noticed immediately and jumped off the car, Josh and the rest of his friends following suit.

"Hey, man," Steve walked up to Jonathan. The Byers teen looked at all of them confused. He took a step back, "What's going on?"

"Nicole here was, uh, telling us about your work," Steve replied back. Josh looked at Nicole wondering what Steve was talking about.

"We've heard great things," Carols chewed her gum obnoxiously. Her face held a stupid smirk as she looked Jonathan up and down.

"Yeah, sounds cool," Tommy laughed dumbly. Josh rolled his eyes at the couple. They were the most annoying out of his friends. He wouldn't even consider them his friends, but they were always around Steve.

"And we'd just love to take a look. You know, as connsoieurs of art," Steve smirked. Jonathan looked at the Harrington teen with panic in his eyes. He tried to get through the teens and to his car, but Tommy snatched Jonathan's bag.

"Watch it, Tommy," Josh said looking at his friend. He walked closer to the group now involving himself into the situation. Jonathan desperately chased Tommy in an effort to get his bag back.

"Tommy just give him back the bag," Josh was starting to get annoyed. Everyone ignored him and kept laughing. Tommy threw the bag at Steve who caught it. He started to open the bag as he looked at Jonathan.

"Man, he is totally trembling. He must really have something to hide," Steve pulled out a pile of photos as he threw Jonathan's bag on the car.

"Ah, here we go," Steve started looking at them. After a couple seconds his face turned into one of confusion and slight shock.

"Oh, man," Tommy and Carol both took some photos and stared looking at them with disgust. Carol looked up at Jonathan, "Yeah, this isn't creepy at all".

"What is it?" Steve handed over a few pictures to Josh. The Davis boy started looking through them and stopped when he realized they were from the party at Steve's house last night. He looked at Jonathan in shock not knowing what to say.

"I was looking for my brother," Jonathan sounded helpless. Josh felt bad for him, he truly did, but this was taking it too far. Steve seemed to agree too, "No, this is called stalking".

Nancy Wheeler walked towards the group. When she saw Jonathan and her friends she laughed awkwardly as she same to a stop.

"Whats going on?" Nancy asked looking at Steve. Tommy laughed his annoying laugh, "Here's the starring lady!"

"What?" Nancy furrowed her eyebrows as she adjusted her bag. Carol glared at Jonathan in disgust, "This creep was spying on us last night. He was probably gonna save this one for later," She handed Nancy a picture. When the Wheeler girl looked at it she saw that the picture was of her and Steve in his bedroom. She looked at Jonathan hurt.

"See, you can tell that he knows it was wrong, but, man, that's the thing about perverts...it's hardwired into them. You know, they just can't help themselves," Steve walked up to Jonathan and messed up his shirt. Steve looked the Byers boy straight in his eyes and ripped the pictures into pieces and threw them on the floor.

"So...we'll just have to take his toy away," Steve walked back and grabbed Jonathan's camera, causing the boy to rush forward, but Tommy held him back. Josh looked with wide eyes at Steve. He knew what Jonathan did was messed up, but breaking his camera was taking it to a whole other level.

"No, no, wait, wait...Tommy, Tommy. It's ok", Tommy smiled and let go of Jonathan. Steve handed him the camera with a sick smile, "Here you go, man".

Josh had seen Steve do this so many times with a bunch of other kids. He started walking towards them, but it was too late. Just as Jonathan was about to grab his camera, Steve dropped it causing it to break. Everyone except, Josh and Nancy laughed. The Davis boy frowned at the camera feeling bad.

Steve patted Josh's back, "Come on, let's go. The games about to start," he started to walk away with Tommy, Carol, and Nicole, but Josh hesitated before he followed Steve.

As Josh walked with everyone he couldn't help but be mad. It was always times like these where he wondered why he was still friends with them. Josh looked back once again seeing Nancy pick up a few pieces of the once whole pictures and run after the group. Jonathan and Josh made eye contact, but all the Davis boy did was shake his head and keep walking.

Liv walked into her house and froze. The smell of alcohol burned her nose. Panic flowed through her. The hair on her arms rose as if she was watching a scary movie. Her breath picked up and got stuck in her throat. That smell could only mean one thing.

Her dad was home.

For a lot of kids, when your dad gets home from a business trip they get excited. The wait to see them again is over. Kids rush to the door and attack their dads with a hug. But this was not the case for Liv.

Her dad was an asshole to simply put it. And when he was drunk things just got worse. Liv didn't know what to do. She stood there frozen. She jumped at the sound of glass shattering. Her father coming into view. Liv stood still hoping that she would go unnoticed, but he saw her.

Her father stormed towards her and grabbed onto her arm tightly. Liv winced and avoided looking into her fathers eyes.

"You're late," Liv held back tears at the pain her father was causing. He threw her to the ground, "I don't think you remember what happens when you're late,"Β  He grabbed Liv by her shirt and pulled her back up.

"Maybe I need to remind you"

All hell broke lose after that. Liv tried not to cry and show weakness as her father hit her. She NEVER showed weakness. It only fueled his anger more. Liv gasped as she barely missed hitting her head on the table by the front door. Liv groaned in pain as she laid on the floor. She opened her eyes and saw one of Steve's boots on the floor. She quickly grabbed it and threw it at her dad, making direct contact with his head. He held his face in pain as she quickly got up and ran to her backyard. She continued to run all the way into the forest by her house. After running for a bit she stopped and fell to the ground. Her chest moved up and down as she fought for each breath. And it was only now that she would let the tears fall from her eyes. Liv Harrington sat there sobbing wishing that she had a better life. A better family. A better everything.

Liv stayed on the floor for about thirty minutes until she heard someone yelling. She stood, looking around as the voice got closer. Soon, Liv was able to make out what the person was yelling.

"Barb!" "Barb!" "Barb are you there!"

Liv started walking towards the voice, but before she could see who was yelling she heard rustling in the leaves. She spun around and saw a tall, gray looking figure. Liv froze in fear. Her limbs stiffened, but her brain told her to run. The monster looked over at her and roared. Liv fell to ground with a yell before getting up and running as fast as she possibly could to safety. She ran so fast that her legs burned. But she didn't stop. She didn't know where she was running to until she stopped in front of someone's house.

The Byers house.

ο½₯ ⋆ ο½₯ ⠄⠂⋆ ο½₯ ⠄⠂⋆ ο½₯ ⠄⠂⋆ ο½₯ ⠄⠂⋆ ο½₯

Liv banged on the door to the Byers residence. She was covered in sweat and she had twigs in her hair. Her face was still stained with tears from the experience with her father. She could barely think straight. The fear from the monster had been so traumatizing.

She banged on the door once more until someone from the other side opened it. And that someone was Daniel Byers. The boy smiled at first when he saw Liv, but his face quickly turned into one of concern once he saw the state she was in. He quickly brought her inside and shut the door. Before he could even ask what was going on, Liv wrapped her arms around Danny and broke down sobbing. The boy froze before he hugged back. He didn't know what had happened, but he whispered reassuring words in her ears. Joyce had just left to buy more Christmas lights and Jonathan wasn't home yet, so Danny took Liv to his room.

The two sat down on his bed, and Danny just held her. They stayed holding each other for about ten minutes before Liv pulled away.

"I'm sorry I came over like this. You're house was closest," Liv wiped some of the tears from her eyes. She let out a shaky breath. Danny looked at her with worry written all over his face.

"Liv what happened?" Danny watched as Liv's eyes filled with tears again. Danny grabbed her hand and rubbed circles on the top. Joyce used to do that to him as a kid and it always helped him calm down. Liv looked down at their hands and then back up at Danny.

"A lot of crazy shit just happened to me right now," Liv paused and took a few breaths before continuing. "At first it was my dad. I came home and he was drunk and he got mad that I was late, which I wasn't, and so he started hurting me," Danny's jaw clenched at the thought of Liv's dad hurting her. He saw that Liv had stopped, so he gave her hand a comforting squeeze.

"I was able to get out and so I ran to my backyard and into the forest by my house and I just stayed there for a while. And then all of a sudden I heard some girl yelling for Barb. Like she was looking for her. Now that I think about it, maybe it was Nancy. Danny, I think Barb is missing. Nancy sounded desperate and then I saw..." Liv paused. She didn't know how to explain what she saw. She didn't know if Danny would believe her.

"What did you see?" Danny asked quietly. Liv looked at him and let out a teary laugh.

"That's just it. I don't know what I saw. It was tall. And it's arms were so long. And it's claws were so sharp. But the weirdest part was that it didn't have a face. When it roared at me, it's face, I guess, looked like a flower filled with rows and rows of teeth. I just ran and then I ended up here. Danny...if Barb is missing. I think that thing took her," Liv started crying again. Danny just looked at the poor girl in shock he didn't know what to do.

"Let's get you cleaned up," Liv sniffled and Danny led her to his bathroom. Liv sat on the toilet as Danny carefully pulled out the twigs from Liv's hair. The girl just stared numbly at the floor. Danny was lost in his thoughts. He didn't know what to think about the whole situation. Danny grabbed a small towel and wet it. He turned to Liv with careful eyes, "Do you mind if i wash your face?"

Liv smiled softly and shook her head. Danny carefully started to clean her face with the towel. Danny was too scared to look up at her, but when he did Liv was already staring at him. She smiled at him. A genuine smile. Danny put the cloth in the sink.

"You're all cleaned up," Danny smiled as he looked down at the brunette girl. Liv stood up and gave him a hug.

"Thank you. For everything you've done," She put her her chin on his shoulder.

Danny wrapped his arms around the girls waist, "Of course".

ο½₯ ⋆ ο½₯ ⠄⠂⋆ ο½₯ ⠄⠂⋆ ο½₯ ⠄⠂⋆ ο½₯ ⠄⠂⋆ ο½₯

Danny and Liv sat on the front porch of his house. Joyce was inside doing something, but Danny didn't want Liv to see the condition his mom was in. The silence between the two was comfortable. The sound of bikes caught Danny's attention. He stood up causing Liv to do the same. They walked towards the sound only to be met by Mike, Dustin, Lucas, and a bald kid that neither Danny or Liv had ever met.

"Uh, hey, guys. What are you doing here?" Danny asked Will's friends. Mike went to answer, but the kid with the shaved hair started talking.

"Here"

"Yeah, this is where Will lives," Mike looked at the girl confused. She spoke again, "Hiding".

"Who's hiding," Danny asked the girl. She looked up at him blankly.

"My name is Daniel. Danny for short," He signaled to Liv who was standing a few inches behind him, "and this is Liv". The Harrington girl waved kindly.

The other girl looked at Mike. She looked like was asking for approval from him. Mike nodded and the girl turned back to the two.

"I'm Eleven. El for short," She repeated what Danny had said. Liv smiled and her, "It's nice to meet you El". El smiled softly at Liv and nodded.

She turned back to Mike, "Will is hiding. Here".

"No, Will is missing from here. I'm his brother," Danny frowned at El. Danny and the rest of the teens froze as they heard sirens. Dustin walked closer to the sound as an ambulance and a police car drove past. The six kids hearts stopped. Deep down knowing what it meant.

"Will"

ο½₯ ⋆ ο½₯ ⠄⠂⋆ ο½₯ ⠄⠂⋆ ο½₯ ⠄⠂⋆ ο½₯ ⠄⠂⋆ ο½₯

The kids pulled up to the water quarry. The place was filled with cop cars and ambulances. Danny and Liv were the first to get off the bike. Danny looked from behind a fire truck. His heart was beating at a mile per hour. He didn't want it to be true. Liv stood next to him looking and Will's friends did the same.

"Oh, god. Please don't be Will. Please don't be Will," Danny muttered with tears in his eyes. Liv grabbed his hand as they both watched, barely breathing.

Danny gasped as he saw his twin brothers red and yellow vest be pulled out of the water along with Will's body. His heart stopped. He didn't know what to do. Seeing his brother be pulled out of the water felt like someone was tearing him apart. Torturing him. It felt like someone had taken his heart and broken in it into a million pieces.

Danny fell to the ground sobbing. He screamed out in pain. Physical pain consumed his body. Liv dropped down on her knees and rubbed his back as tears fell from her eyes. Danny sobbed and sobbed. Anyone that heard his cries could feel the pain that he felt. Danny grabbed onto Liv. She held onto him tightly as he cried. And they stayed like that for a while. Danny couldn't believe it. He didn't want to believe it.

Will was dead.

His twin brother was dead.

Or so he thought...
