"You really weren't kidding when you said the first thing in the morning," I huff, crossing my arms, watching as Leon stuffs his face with food. Leon shrugs, "Like you have anything better to do. You'll be taking time off the same time I do." He grins, "True." I mumble. "Besides, it gave me time to send notices to all the other gym leaders about their sudden new ability to relax." I snort scrolling through my emails, many of them long thank you letters from said gym leaders when I told them about the sudden change to their contract.
Leon laughs, "I'm pretty sure Nessa is taking a vacation too, said something about spending it at a lake." I muse. "Probably West lake Axewell, If I had to guess Dapple Grove." Leon pipes up, I blink and look at him shocked, Leon look's back at me confused. "Nessa trains there a lot, says the water is deeper on that end." He hums, I shake my head with a smile, "Do you know where every Gym Leader trains?" I joke, "Yep." He agrees completely serious.
"Huh," I quip before looking back down at my emails, "When do you think we should leave?" I question. "As soon as possible." He answers standing from his seat, My eyes widen, "Lee! I haven't even packed a bag!" I squeak as he slaps money down on the table. "Well you better get packing then." He grins, "Leon!" I shriek as he takes me by my hand to pull me along.
I let out a huff as I stuff another one of my bags into the overhead of the train cart, "I got it." Lee chimes coming up from behind me and pushing the bag the rest of the way in. "Did you really have to bring all this stuff?" He mumbles looking down at yet another bag, "Did really bring nothing at all?" I snap in return looking at his one bag. "I have everything I need." He pouts, "Uh huh," I grunt, reaching for my last bag.
"I guess people camp differently in Kalos," Leon mumbles, "We do, unlike the people of Galar we have to carry all our supplies. It must be nice to have a fancy Rotom phone who can just zap out everything they need." I huff as I push my bag into the already full compartment. "And people say people from Kalos are tech savvy." I hiss giving my bag one last push before the compartment snaps shut, "You know you could have just told me and I would have just zapped your bags into my storage." he mocks, "You're only saying that now because you're a sadist who prefers to watch me struggle first." I scoff.
Leon rolls his eyes, "You're just stubborn," He muses, I ignore his teasing smirk as I sit down in the train seat. Thankful that we're not taking a flying taxi, "What all did you pack anyway?" He mumbles looking at the compartment then his bag. "The first bag is a fold out kitchen, the gym leader of Lumanos City is an inverter who came up with it when he was traveling on his journey. The second one is my tent with a week's worth of food packed inside. The last one is my personal items," I list out.
Leon blinks at me, "How did you pack all that in an hour?" He gaps. "I had sent some of my stuff over from Kalos before I came to Galar. Most of it had been in storage up until now, still packed from the move, all I had to do was grab it." I shrug, "You didn't have to bring a tent, we could have just slept in mine." He mumbles leaning in close.
"I'm aware but my Pokรฉmon are pampered and prefer to sleep in the bed with me. So while they might not be happy with the idea of me sleeping with someone else, they'll be more compliant to know they don't have to sleep in their pokรฉball or outside." I whisper with a smirk, Leon's eyes dart down to my lips. "Careful Champion we're in public." I muse softly, "It's one kiss." He bellows deeply golden eyes deepening. I quirk my brow at the reaction, "Then hurry up and kiss me." I tease. Leon dives forward and presses his lips to mine, I giggle into the kiss as Leon attempts to take it further, "In public." I remind breathlessly. Leon groans softly and sinks back into his seat.
Leon manages to control himself for the rest of the ride, We get off the train around noon in Rolling Fields. Leon taking on his bag and the kitchen bag, while I carry my personal bag and the tent bag. I made him wait outside the train station bathroom so I could change into something more nature appropriate, that and the fact he made me pack so last minute I didn't give myself time to change before.
"I didn't know you had any outdoor clothes, the most I've seen is business casual." Leon gaps as I walk out in a pair of shorts and fitted black tank. I adjust my silk scarf to sit on the right side of my throat as I roll my eyes. "I did travel back in Kalos Lee, how do you think I got from competition to competition, we don't have fancy taxis or trains. Not to mention us Pokรฉstars work just as hard as you trainers. How do you think we get as good as we are?" I rant while tying up my hair. "Alright, point taken." He chuckles holding his hands up in mock surrender before leading us out of the station.
The Wild Area is nothing short of beautiful when I step out of the train station, Leon lets me have my moment to take it all in before he starts the long hike to where he plans to take us. Normally I'd wouldn't trust Leon's directional skills, but he seems very determined to take me where he planned.
He takes us through Rolling Fields then down a large slope that borders East Lake Axewell and South Lake Miloch. Leon, thank the Pokรฉ God above, lets us take a small break when we reach South Lake Miloch. By then the sun rotates to late noon and I start to worry if we'll get there before sun down, however Leon assures me we're almost there. After our small break Leon leads us out to the peninsula of South Lake Miloch, on the very end of the peninsula is a bridge where we cross over into a place called the Giant's Seat. Leon takes us south where he eventually settles us down in a place far enough away from the bridge to where if anyone came looking they'd have to walk quite a few yards.
The area is secluded in a way that we won't be bothered by any trainers, not to mention the lingering ghost types makes it abundantly clear that this isn't a place many people venture to. However, it has the most beautiful view of Lake Miloch just a jump, hop, and a skip away. "I'm surprised you've found a place like this, doesn't seem like your type of scene." I giggle as Leon sets the bags down, "I found when I got lost once," he chuckles, "Of course you did," I sigh with a small grin.
"The Lake is beautiful," I awe, looking out to orange tinted water as the sun prepares to set. "It's the deepest Lake in all of Galar." Leon informs pulling a few things out of his bag, "I wonder why Nessa didn't come here." I mumble crossing her arms. "Even though the water is deeper, there aren't that many water Pokรฉmon. If I had to guess why, I'd say the more powerful ones lurk here so be careful." Leon mumbles.
"Didn't know you were such an outdoors man?" I laugh as I open up the kitchen bag, hopefully I can get dinner up and running soon. "How do you think I got as strong as I am, I do a lot of training out here in the wild area." He laughs tapping his Pokรฉdex, and just like that a full tent is zapped out of the small red device. I hum, smirking as I press the button of my bag, Leon's eyes widen as a full table and kitchen appliances come folding out. "Okay, that is pretty impressive," He chuckles, scratching his cheek, a smug smile tugs on my lips as I pull the tent bag over and start to pull the food out of it.
"Do you want me to set up your tent?" Leon calls, "If you can manage, unlike yours mine doesn't just pop out fully setup," I tease. Leon grumbles something about a challenge before taking the tent out of the bag, as I prepare dinner I'll occasionally glance up to Leon and try to put the tent together. Only to laugh when he gets something tangled or collapse when he thinks he's done something right. By the time food is almost ready Leon finally manages to figure out the tent, he puffs his chest up with pride as he gestures to it. "Good job Lee." I muse as I perform a small taste test.
"Do you want to call your Pokรฉmon out so I can feed them?" I question, turning to dig out the enormous bag of Pokรฉfood I brought with us. "Yep," Leon calls, I glance up and watch Leon pop all five of his Pokรฉmon out of their balls. Charizard looks around and when his eyes fall to me he rushes over, he nuzzles his head into me before peering over what I'm cooking. "No Pokรฉpuffs today Charizard," I shoo, the fire Pokรฉmon grumbles, "But I did bring the ingredients to make it, so don't you worry big guy." I grin patting his neck.
Charizard preens at the thought of Pokรฉpuffs, he eventually wanders back over to his trainer who starts a fire while I fill five bowls of pokรฉfood. I manage to stack two on each arm, but stare down at the fifth, I smirk when a small idea comes to mine. Very carefully I balance the fifth bowl onto my head before bringing them over, Leon laughs as I bring the Pokรฉmon their food.
"You could have just called me to help you," He snorts taking the bowl off my head and two off my arms. "Then how would I display my perfect posture I spent years perfecting?" I pout mockingly, "I'm sure there are other ways," Leon laughs rolling his eyes as he sets the food down to his Pokรฉmon. I smile and place the two remaining bowls to the ground, I giggle as two of Dragapult's Dreepys nuzzle into me before shooting down to their food.
"What about your Pokรฉmon?" Leon questions, "I would with Tails and Doom, but Za has food aggression." I sigh. "So I'll just wait to feed them all at once." I mumble, Leon nods his head in understandment. "Is that just something he has or is it a species thing?" Leon questions as we walk over to the food I made for dinner. "I think it's a species thing, but I've never met any other Zarudes." I mumble fixing Leon a plate before handing it to him. "Well," He pauses, taking his plate, "How did you meet Zarude?" He continues before taking a bite of his food.
"If you wanna know that story you'll have to hear I met Doom and Tails first," I snort, fixing my own plate. "Well, we are on vacation so we have a whole week worth of time." He smiles, "As true as that is, there's not enough time in the world that can make you ready to hear those stories," I mumble sitting down at the fire Leon made. Leon pauses in eating his food to look at me, "Can you at least let me try?" He questions. I pick at my food mulling over the thought, "Let's finish eating first," I mumble before taking a bite of food.ย
