I glance over my documents at Leon who chats with his fans, most of them children who beg for signatures and pictures. The fan event has been going on all day and is only going to be going on for another hour. It's best if we finish up the day as soon as possible, Leon isn't getting much sleep lately and I don't need him collapsing in the middle of a fan event let alone a battle. Not when the Inspector is coming in tomorrow, as much as it would benefit us to have Leon make a scene, I'm not willing to risk anyone's health.
I lick my lips and change documents, I toss one leg over the other and start to scribble down the highlights and some more finer details of the document on some paper I can refer to later. Once I get all I need I sign on the dotted line and push the document to the back of the pile before moving on. The stacks of papers is something Leon would have had to process as well as interact at the fan event if it wasn't for the fact I was hired, Leon is already on the verge of collapse, I can't even imagine what would have happened if he had to take on my workload as well. Chairman Rose truly is a fool for thinking he can work people the way he does and still have an effective business.
I glance up quickly but I have to do a double take when I see the swarm of fan girls surrounding Leon's table. I don't know how I didn't hear the squeals from before. I jump up and unleash Houndoom, irritation running thick in my veins when I can't get a visual on Leon through the swarm. "Houndoom, use Rawer." I command, Houndoom unleashes his booming eerie howl catching the attention of the horde. "I highly suggest you all back off and stand in line like proper civilized people before I call security." I warn, crossing my arms. "Who are you? What makes you think you scare us?" One bites back.
I lift my eyebrow, without so much as a second thought I stalk my way over to the girl. I make a point to use heavy steps so she hears the clack of my heels and the sound of her impending doom. "I don't think you should be scared of me." I shrug, "I know you should be scared of me. I am doing you a favor by calling security because trust me when I say you don't want to have to deal with me." I spoke slowly and calmly. I watch the girl take a heavy step back, I sent her a pleasant smile and held my head high. "So, I strongly suggest you all follow the rules or face the consequences." I chime sweetly.
The group of women wearily formed a line, with the crowd clearing I'm finally able to spot Leon who stood there stunned. I sent the man a smile, "Please continue the good work Champion Leon." I spoke softly, bowing my head. Without another word I walked back to my seat and continued my paperwork, only this time I made sure to look up more often.
By the time the meet and greet ended Leon was thoroughly exhausted, "Come on Leon, it's best you get some rest tonight." I mumble as he leans against me. "Can't move, don't wanna walk home." he grumbles, a soft laugh escapes me before I could stop it. "How about we take a flying taxi?" I muse, he hums in agreement. I pick up my pokรฉdex and quickly order a flying taxi, while I walk him outside to wait. I pull Leon to a bench so we can sit and enjoy the cool night.
As soon as I sit beside him he leans to rest on my shoulder, I force down a smile. "Thank you for today, I don't know how you did it, but thank you." He mumbles, "It's my job Leon, as for how I do it... I've learned that hearing your heels click on the floor sounds like power, an impending doom of sorts. Pair it with a calm expression in a tense situation and you're golden." I whisper with a giggle. "Noted." He chuckles.
"All jokes aside Leon you promised to walk by me and for that I will be your shield. I will protect you and anyone who stands with us when you need it." I whisper, "When I said I would stand by you I didn't mean just that, I meant that I'll be your sword. I'll fight the battles you need me to, I'll fight for your dreams if you want me to." He whispers. "Who's being poetic now?" I laugh softly, "You're rubbing off on me." He grumbles. "Every man needs a graceful touch dear Champion." I muse, I feel my cheeks heat up when Leon's warm hand slips into mine. "I would be lying if I said it hasn't done me any good." He chuckles, "Well someone has to take care of you." I scoff turning away so he wouldn't see my cheeks growing more red.
"If you don't take care of yourself more often I will. Aggressively, if I may add." I huff leaning back against the bench, "Kinky." He chuckles, I use my free hand to slap his chest. "I thought Raihan said you were a private person?" I grumble, "I am, but so are you according to Nessa." He smirks. "Touchรฉ." I hum, stroking my thumb against his hand. Leon looks over at me and it takes all I have not to fall into his golden eyes. I lick my lips and swallow hard, the action draws Leon's attention. My breath stills as Leon draws closer, but before I can fall into the pools of molten gold the flapping of heavy wings draws us apart.
I watch as the black bird Pokรฉmon descends from the air, fanning my face from the heat that flushes it. I help Leon into the metal cart before giving the man his address. The flight to Leon's didn't take long but we spent it in silence just as we did when I walked him to his door. "Make sure to get some sleep, okay? We gotta be ready for tomorrow," I whisper, pushing some hair from his face to indulge my want to touch him, "Right, the plan." He recalls leaning into the touch.
"It's late. Do you wanna stay?" He questions, "No, I told the taxi to wait, speaking of which I should be going." I sigh. Leon lets out a disappointed hum before he takes my hand on his face in his, I smile softly as he presses a kiss to my knuckles, but a smirk takes its place soon after. I lean up and press a kiss to his cheek, my chin brushing against his beard,ย "Good night dear champion." I whisper before walking my way back down the hall and out to the taxi.
