Previously in Season 2...
"But, who are you?"
He smiles, walking up to his phonograph. he clicked on the dragons and presses three buttons. The phonograph twirled and opened to show a hexagon box. It looked antique but well kept. It had a large symbol similar to the book she had.
"Master Fu is the last known member of the Order of the Guardians," Tikki informed.
A green kwami of a turtle flew around Marinette. "Guardians of the Miraculous! I'm Wayzz, Master Fu's kwami. It's a pleasure to meet you, Marinette."
Marinette chuckles nervously, "Uh..you too."
"We guardians are responsible for protecting and disturbing the Miraculous, for the good of all humanity," Master Fu grabs his Miracle box and opens it, showing more miraculous.
"We are chosen in childhood and trained for many years, especially for this mission. When we were much, much younger, we..." Master Fu sighs.
"I made a mistake. The guardians' temple was destroyed, all because of me! Two of the miraculous were lost that day. The Butterfly and the Peacock. Also gone forever was the ancient spellbook!"
Marinette frowns, flipping through the book, "But all it has are drawings of old superheroes and a bunch of strange symbols."
"Not strange to a Guardian," he places his Miracle box back into the phonograph. "Back in the days, I was never given the opportunity to even have a look at it, but I've been taught enough to be able to partially decipher the code," he raises his hands to have the book.
Marinette hesitated, looking at her kwami who nodded. She handed the book to him.
"These pages contain various spells capable of giving Ladybug and Chatnoir special abilities we haven't known about, until now! Obviously, this book is invaluable," he smiles.
πΈπ·πΈ
"I've always believed that whoever possessed this spellbook must also have the Peacock and the Butterfly miraculous," Master Fu gave Marinette tea before looking through the book.
Marinette's eyes widened. "Wait a sec, you mean whoever owned the spellbook could be Hawkmoth?"
"How did you discover this book, Marinette?" Master glanced at her.
Marinette hesitated as Adrien had the book. It can't be him! What will Master Fu do if Adrien really is Hawkmoth? "I...uh...I found it, lying on the bench in a park close to...close to school," she lies.
"You didn't see who it belonged to, then?"
Marinette hesitated, "No, No, I...didn't."
Tikki stopped playing with Wayzz and incredulously stared at her. She lied to Master Fu.
"What a shame. For a moment, I thought we were about to discover the identity of Hawkmoth. We would've had a chance to defeat him," Master Fu sighs.
"Uh...I could investigate if you want," Marinette apologetically smiles.
"But you must be very careful, Marinette. If you succeed, you may well find yourself face to face with Hawkmoth."
"I'll be very careful, I promise," she stands up and heads to the door when she stopped.
Master Fu raised a brow in confusion. Marinette gritted her teeth before turning around to face him.
"If you're truly the Guardian of the Miraculous. What do you know about Ghost-Spider's powers?"
Master Fu nods, looking through the book again. The last few pages were blank. He waved his hand over the pages and a picture showed up.
It was a picture of a figure with blue-pink veins in its system. They couldn't see the person's face but the anatomy of their body.
"Long time ago, a guardian prophesized a greater power to wield the power of strange of powerful stones. They were strong enough to change the world's reality. But it can also transfer from different dimensions."
Marinette's eyes widened, "What are you saying?"
Master Fu smiles, "You'll have to ask Ghost-Spider personally where she is from."
πΈπ·πΈ
Gabriel places his hands on Ghost's shoulders. She stiffened when more danger made her senses spike. She trembled again, confusing Gabriel.
"Nothing must happen to him. He's too precious to me," Gabriel smiled at her.
Ghost narrowed her eyes at him with distrust. Ladybug noticed she was running out of time and warned Chat and Ghost. "We're about to transform back. Goodbye, Mr. Agreste."
"Don't worry yourself, sir. I'm sure your son is safe and sound," Chat smiles.
Both of them jumped away but Ghost stayed behind. It was quiet for a moment. Gabriel was confused about why this hero stayed behind. Is she going to apologize for getting the "wrong" assumption about him?
He slightly smirked before showing an emotionless expression when Ghost raised her chin, getting his attention.
Ghost took thought about this. It's risky. But there's a chance he already knew. He may fool everyone but not one can fool her. Especially Ladybug and whoever is in charge of the other miraculouses.
"I do not have a miraculous. It's all mine."
Gabriel's eyes widened in disbelief. He did not expect to hear that at all! Is this a joke?! Why did she point that out?! Her bracer!βhe stopped, keeping his composure.
"Why are you telling me this?"
Ghost smirked, noticing everything in his eyes. "To see your reaction. I got what I needed. Stay safe," she jumped out.
She glanced at him and his eyes widened. His breath hitched, seeing her. She is challenging him. As if telling him to give it his all. Because she will be ready for the threat.
As she left, Gabriel clenched his fists. "I'll see you soon..."
πΈπ·πΈ
Marinette sees him taking pictures and remembers when Ghost's evidence. "Master Fu."
He hums, glancing at her.
"Ghost-Spider. She didn't tell me where she was from. She was able to figure out about Gabriel Agreste and the spellbook. I know she's amazing when doing her job as a hero. She's intelligent! Very advanced too! Her senses warn her of danger but this time, I'm not so sure anymore..." Marinette frowns.
Master Fu nods, "Don't worry, Marinette. Work with her for now."
Marinette blinks in confusion. "Work with her? She has proven to be very secretive. She figured out I took the book. She can figure out who Ladybug and Chatnoir are in her sleep!" She gasps, "What if she figured it out already?!"
Master Fu places his hands on her shoulders and smiles, "Don't worry. I'll handle this.
She hesitated but walked out of the shop, Tikki following her behind.
Wayzz flew to Master Fu. "What are you going to do, Master?"
Master Fu didn't respond. He walked to his balcony and opened the doors, giving a small breeze to his curtains.
Ghost-Spider was sitting in his rails.
"I have been waiting for you, Ghost-Spider."
πΈπ·πΈ
"So then, if you had a copy of the book, why'd you go through all that trouble?" Nathalie asks.
"I did what had to do to keep my secret," Gabriel replied, looking through the pages. He stopped when he saw something new on the back of the pages.
It was a picture of a figure with blue-pink veins in its system. They couldn't see the person's face but the anatomy of their body. There was a distinct drawing on the figure's hand.
"Interesting....very interesting..." he smirks, seeing a spider on the figure's hand.
πΈπ·πΈ
Fu nods and sees as Ghost remove her mask to her nose and took a drink. He saw the distinct scar on her jaw and could tell from her muscles that she has hero experience at a young age.
"Ladybug and Chatnoir do not trust me to a level," she started, bringing his attention to her.
Fu saw as Ghost put her mask back and sat patiently, waiting to be berated by him.
"I know. They don't have anything against you, young one. They are just afraid. They have never met someone who has the intelligence to be a hero without a miraculous. It's not their fault."
"I understand. But I also need them to understand that I'm going to need their help to get me back home to my father. To defeat monsters like my enemy."
"And what exactly can they do?"
Ghost stopped and looked down at the remaining tea. She sighs, placing it on the table. "They have magic. I was hoping to know more about this universe. The other universes I went to have a counter-part of someone. Except this particular universe does not even have a counter-part of the rest of the superheroes I encountered. I want to know more."
His eyes widened and later softened. "That would be because they have gone extinct. Only the power of miraculous remained in this universe. I have been here for more than a hundred years. They're gone."
Ghost's eyes widened and looked down at the tea in disbelief and gripped it.
She flinched when he placed a hand on hers in comfort. "I can't help but feel you have dark turmoil inside you. Ladybug and Chatnoir may not trust you to an extent, but you can always come to me and talk...did you lose someone?"
πΈπ·πΈ
Gwen gasped when two hands covered her eyes. "It's me." She chuckles, turning around to see Adrien smiling at her.
"What is it?" she smirked, crossing her arms.
Adrien shrugged before giving a hand to her, "Would you do me the honors to dance with me?"
Gwen blinked, "Dance? Me?"
He smirked, "Don't tell me you don't know how to dance..."
She scoffed, grabbing his hand. "Please. I know a little bit."
"Oh yeah? Prove it," he smiles. She laughs, shaking her head as he drags her to the dance floor.
Not far from them, Alya and Marinette blinked at them. They realized they were close. They're friends. But they just witnessed...flirting?
Adrien grabbed her hand and wrapped another around her waist, dancing to the tune. They ignored the people around them, dancing to their content.
Gwen's eyes widened as she really didn't anticipate for Adrien to be a good dancer and frowned. "So you are perfect. Makes me wonder why you don't have someone already."
Adrien smiles, "I'm not that perfect. you know?" He grabbed both of her hands and placed them on his neck before placing his own on her waist.
πΈπ·πΈ
Nadya hung up on Alya and turned to the heroes again. "Uh, Ladybug, Ghost-Spider, Chatnoir."
The three turned to her attention.
"So a lot of fans think of you like a couple of superheroes. But also, and I quote-unquote, as a couple. Period."
"Huh?" Ghost blinked at why she was involved.
"What?" Ladybug asked.
"Can you confirm that you're dating here, tonight?" Nadja urged. "Perhaps a love triangle between you three?"
Ghost and Chat glanced at each other and laughed. Ghost shook her head. "I have no interest in those kinds of things. Besides what love triangle? I have no interest in Chatnoir or Ladybug."
"Yeah, my heart belongs to Ladybug only, no offense Ghost."
"None taken."
"Uh-Uh-I'm very sorry, Nadja. But we're superheroes. We're not here to answer such personal questions," Ladybug refused. "We're here to ensure all Parisians that they're safe and that it's only a matter of time before we defeat Hawkmoth, that's all."
"Fine. How do you explain these photographs then?" Nadja showed a picture of Chatnoir kissing Ghost-Spider when defeating Dark Cupid.
The three gasped but Ghost was the loudest, pointing at the screen. "What the hell?! When did this happen?!"
She picked Chat from his collar and pulled her to her face. "Explain yourself! Did you see my face?!"
Ladybug tried to get Chat down as Chat tried to explain. "I was saving you, not kissing you! Promise!"
Nadja noticed the ratings going higher and showed more photos of Ghost saving Chat countless times, Ghost hugging Chat as he hugged Ladybug, and Ghost and Chat saving Paris together.
"It's so obvious that you're both in love! It's a love triangle! Ladybug and Chatnoir being a couple and Ghost-Spider being jealous of you!"
"Huh?" Ghost blinked.
πΈπ·πΈ
"You're not jealous of Ladybug and me, right?" Chat winked.
"Please, I don't want to like anyone," Ghost shook the thought of a certain someone from her head. 'Never again.'
She jumped away but Chat panicked, "Wait, I wasn't planning on getting home so early! Why don't we get some ice cream! I know the purr-fect place!"
The three jumped around the city and got themselves ice cream. As they ate Ghost couldn't stop thinking back on the pictures displayed on the screen. Is that where they found out about her pale skin?
She glanced at her partners and shivered and paled at the thought.
Wait...she fought Dark Cupid before The Horrificator...which means...
Adrien wasn't her first kiss...it was Chatnoir?!
She gagged, choking on her ice cream, making her partners confusedly glance at her.
"When were you planning on telling me about the kiss?!" she flustered, turning to Chatnoir.
Chat laughs nervously, "I meant to tell you that day but you looked exhausted, and left you alone. I was going to tell you the other times but I forgot."
"Oh! So you suddenly forgot to explain why your lips touched mine?!"
"Hey! What's wrong with my lips? Just so you know, I didn't plan to kiss you either!"
"Too late for that! Thanks for letting me know!" she sassed.
"You're welcome!"
"Guys!" Ladybug shouts.
"What?!" Chat and Ghost turned to her.
πΈπ·πΈ
She doesn't have a miraculous. Take off her mask while her hands are occupied!"
Prime Queen smirked and turned to the camera. "Look at this folks! If we don't get anything out of Ladybug and Chatnoir, why don't we ask some questions to our favorite hero Ghost-Spider!"
"Ghost-Spider!" Prime Queen shouts as Ghost grips the webs tightly, gritting her teeth.
"I have been informed you do not have a miraculous! You're just a regular little girl and yet you're risking your life to stop this train! Why is that?!"
πΈπ·πΈ
Prime Queen turned back to Nadja.
Chat, Ladybug, and Ghost pounded their fists together in victory. "Pound it."
Ghost winced and clenched her fists. The heroes noticed and looked closer to see her wrists still bleeding. They gasped.
"How is that possible?!" Ladybug panicked.
Ghost removed her hands from them and waved at them. "I'm fine. I'll see you guys around."
She left, leaving the worried heroes behind.
πΈπ·πΈ
Gwen sighs, looking down at her wrists as they are slowly healing in their own time. She glared at the screen as Alya left the set and it solely focused on Nadja.
"The question still goes on..."
"Who is Ghost-Spider?"
"Is she a hero or a threat ?"
πΈπ·πΈ
The doctor snarls at them before turning to Gwen. His eyes widened as he observed her closer. He stepped forward and gripped her chin, lifting her from the ground. She grunts and glared at him.
"Gwen!" Adrien tried but the man holding him held him tighter.
"Interesting...she's an eye-catching girl. Probably worth more than the others," he smirked. "I like the look in her eyes. There's so much in her soul, I want it."
He smirked down at her, "We're going to have so much fun together...what is your name again?"
Gwen glared at him harder, not giving him a chance to see the filter of fear she had. She screamed as he dug his nails into her face, nearing his face close to her. The smell of medicine filled her nostrils.
"G-Gwen. Gwen Stacy," she spat.
"Nice to meet you, Gwendy. You may call me Ray. Your personal doctor," he smirked before turning to his workers.
πΈπ·πΈ
He hummed, yawning. He was still tired after everything. He glanced at the bed and grabbed her wrist. Gwen's eyes snapped opened and observed as he dragged her to bed. It was small for one person but Adrien was too stubborn to let the girl sleep on the floor.
"What are you doing?" Gwen was dropped on the ripped mattress as he sat next to it.
"You have been keeping watch, it's my turn," he smiled.
She smirked, leaning close to him making him blink. "Says the boy who yawned not a second ago. Come on, you can sleep here. I'll keep watch."
Adrien refused, shaking his head. Gwen groaned before grabbing his collar and pulling him to the bed. He yelped at her strength and blinked owlishly as they lay on the bed. Her back facing him.
"Shut up and sleep," Gwen closed her eyes.
He pouts once again before relaxing on the bed. He had to move around a little as the springs on the mattress kept digging into his skin. He sighs as his eyes were closing but he said that he'll keep watch.
"Gwen...Are you asleep?" he whispered.
"No..." she whispered back.
He sweatdropped, "Sleep."
"Adrien. Go to sleep."
"I'm cold."
Gwen groaned before facing him and sitting up. She took off her green coat and draped it over him before flopping on the bed. "Go to sleep."
After being quiet for a few moments, Adrien grew worried that Gwen was cold as she lay still. She is really brave. He smiled before draping it over her too, cuddling next to her.
"What are you doing?" she whispered.
"You look cold."
Gwen rolled her eyes and kept watch.
πΈπ·πΈ
"You're Gwen's classmate, right?" Lila blankly spoke, still staring at Gwen's flier.
That's right. Lila is Gwen's friend. It's odd as she hasn't been in school for a while and now she shows up.
"Yeah," she nodded as Lila hummed.
"I don't think it's just a normal disappearance."
Marinette's eyes widened. Does she know?! She turned to her but Lila's eyes were still focused on Gwen.
"I don't care what happens to Adrien or the other teens," Lila finally faced her, glaring.
Marinette stopped as Lila knew she wasn't glaring right at her. Lila walked next to her, "But if I see a single scratch on Gwen, I don't care if I get akumatized again. I'll bring them to their knees."
πΈπ·πΈ
Instead of smiling, the doctor smirked maliciously before grabbing her waist and pulling her to him. "I want to hear you scream in pain and fear."
She felt her senses going haywire as the syringe was plunged into her neck, knocking the lights out of the girl. The only thing she can remember was a scream.
But it wasn't hers.
πΈπ·πΈ
"You haven't seen those eyes, boy. I know the eyes of a murderer when I see one."
Adrien scowled at him. "She's not a murderer."
Doc blinked owlishly and laughed loudly, slapping the boy in the head finding it amusing. "You sure know nothing about that girl like I do."
"You don't know anything about her!"
"Do you?" Doc smirked.
"I know more than you! The Gwen I know is not a murderer!"
"Tsk Tsk. Oh, little Agreste. I can tell you haven't done your research. I looked through her files and they all seemed too real. She has no past history and parents' history."
"What does it have to do with her being a murderer?"
"Why forge a birth certificate if you have nothing to hide?" he smirks as Adrien's eyes widened. "Sad, really. I can tell you're close by the looks of it but you don't seem to know her at all."
πΈπ·πΈ
Years. It took Ray years to finally see the solution. He knows with all his effort, he'll bring her back. No one speaks of the topic, but he knows.
No one knows.
His tired eyes glanced at the engravings of the snowy mountains. It was burned to the ground but he was able to see it perfectly.
The big bang sent 6 elemental crystals. Hurtling across the virgin universe. The elemental crystals each control an essential aspect of existence.
Space...
Reality...
Power...
Mind...
Time...
And Soul...
He grins in relief. These stones are a myth. But he can only put too much faith in the tapestry. He doesn't care about the other stones. He only cared about one. The ability to resurrect people from the dead.
He'll find it. And he'll use it to bring her back.
He looked through it all and saw more paintings of humans grabbing each stone. They all died touching it. He gritted his teeth. He needs it! But how will he?!
That's when he saw it.
Only beings of immense power can wield the stone. So he put himself to work and find test subjects. Strong enough to withstand any pain and take over the world.
That's when he saw...her.
When his eyes caught blues he could have sworn all his air left him. The girl strangely resembled his wife. But her eyes are different.
She knew how cruel the world is. How the world turns against you...use you for their needs.
He almost gave up but when he tested her. He knew. All his years of research are finally over.
Gwendolyn Stacy.
πΈπ·πΈ
Her eyes widened as the same substance Ray had was coming out of her back. Suddenly, her body was enveloped with the black substance, making her panic.
Her senses flared drastically in danger before the substance moved her out of the way. Ray crashed his fists on the ground and his eyes widened, seeing Ghost-Spider.
Ghost gasps as she looks down at herself. This is...No way...she really has it.
"H¡ñgrΒ₯..."
Who was that? It's so loud.
"Β§hΒ΅β ¡þ...H¡ñgrΒ₯"
Ghost shook her head and somehow felt stronger but she felt different. She doesn't want to like it but somehow made her feel amazing.
πΈπ·πΈ
"Treat him with care," she whispered.
The officers flinched and only stared at her in disbelief. "This man kidnapped and experimented on children! What the hell do you mean by that!"
Ghost walked towards Ray and crouched in front of him. He held his breath as he stared into her mask.
"The world wronged you. They didn't save you. That's why you did this...to bring her back," she whispered to him the last part.
"There are reasons on why a person becomes a villain."
Everyone only stared in shock, observing Ghost and Ray's conversation. But her last sentence almost seemed to be directed to everyone. Including herself.
"Ignoring victims can only create villains. Someone doesn't become a hero for their brave acts and their accomplishments. It's the sentiment and the true compassion of saving someone who needs saving. I want to be that person.
"Whether I am a criminal or a normal human. Everyone needs saving...But I won't give up hope. I will keep fighting. I may not save everyone but if it breaks my body every day, I won't let a single person fight alone."
Ray trembled and teared up. Letting his heart squeeze and let out the loudest scream. Ray leaned forward and placed his head on her chest and wailed. She closed her eyes and hugged him.
"I may not be able to bring her back. But you can make her proud by moving forward. Rest. It's over."
πΈπ·πΈ
Gwen was brutally tortured to an extent of having a full breakdown. And now she's suddenly okay? He doesn't know, but he made the mistake of leaving her on her own after the whole thing.
He still remembers how it chilled him to the bone when Gwen sobbed and clung to him desperately. He never wants to see that again. Gwen is always on her own. She has everyone rely on her for their problems but she never speaks about hers.
It's upsetting that he is the only person she is close to but doesn't help her enough because of his father's schedule, which has been busier than before. It's as if his father is separating him from her.
He doesn't want that. He cares too much for Gwen. He made a promise and he intends to keep it. His eyes wandered to her wrist and it indeed was scarred. He frowns as he grabs her wrist, making Gwen flinch at the touch.
Thinking he made a mistake, he dropped it. Gwen and Adrien's eyes connected and were in a trance. All the sound revolving around them just slowly turned muffled.
Adrien noticed her blue eyes were slowly losing their spark and couldn't help but be angered at himself. What kind of friend is he if he can't protect his best friend?
Gwen slowly reached for his hand and gave him her hand. Seeing she wasn't uncomfortable anymore, he lightly grabbed it and flipped it to see the scar.
"I'm sorry about what happened..." he ran his thumb lightly on the scar.
Gwen's eyes softened. With her hand on his wrist, she grabbed his hand and tightened it lightly. "It wasn't your fault. I'm basically alive because of you. You...you're my hero."
Adrien's eyes widened. Her hero? He doesn't understand. Gwen noticed and helped remind him.
"I would be in the worst state if it wasn't for you. You became my rock and helped me stay sane. Thank you for that," she grinned.
Adrien stopped and observed her more. Why does she seem more different? She seems brighter, more sparkly. Is it her hair? Her smile? Her eyes? Why?
πΈπ·πΈ
"You're seriously going to leave without saying goodbye?"
She laughs and turns around to see Adrien smirking at her and leaning on a tree. She shook her head, shoving her hands into her pockets.
"I'm not much of a party person," she smirked.
Adrien chuckles, looking down at his charm bracelet. Gwen's eyes softened and stood next to him.
"It looks nice," she smiled.
"Yeah, but for some reason. I like our bad luck more."
Gwen's eyes widened and laughs, "Please. I know that you prefer to get good luck."
Adrien shook his head, "I don't know. With our bad luck, it makes it more exciting, don't you think?"
Gwen chuckles, shaking her head. "Stupid."
Adrien laughs as he pulls the girl in a hug. He looked at the bracelet one more time before putting it away, hugging the girl tighter to his chest. His heart jumped in contentment as his arm comfortably enveloped the girl.
Like a key to a lock. It's perfect.
πΈπ·πΈ
"You remind me of my mom," Gwen smiled, fiddling with Rudy's hand. The woman didn't say anything but Gwen could tell she was listening.
"My dad," Gwen stopped for a second to think back a few years ago. "My dad was a cop. My mom and I admired him for doing so much for the city. I loved my dad so much that I spent all my time with him, forgetting all the moments I had with my mom. It was until my mom passed away that I realized that he was all I had. But now..."
Gwen closed her eyes, remembering the shocked expression her father had, the last she saw him.
"He...saw me as Ghost-Spider and I thought he was going to turn me in...but he didn't. Because of this, I thought that I disappointed him. His only daughter disappointed him. Because of that, I refused to look him in the eyes or speak to him.
"I remembered so well how he would call me every night and I would hear his voicemail saying that he's worried for me and to come home. Can you believe that? To go home? How can I?"
Gwen blinked back her tears and looked down at Rudy's hand. If it wasn't for the woman tightening it for a while, she would have thought the woman slept but she only listened.
"And now? I just wish to see him and hug him. I miss him. I miss how we would watch Dad Cop and eat corndogs until we dropped. I have nothing that would give me a reminder that he is safe or alive, and I don't know what to do."
The soft breeze swayed the curtain as the light was brought back to the room, giving a perfect picture of Gwen holding back tears.
"When I came to this homeless shelter, you reminded me of my mom. My dad would come home from an awful day at work and my mom would always ask how it went. He'd say 'fine'. It was never the truth or a lie. It was just what they both needed to hear. She would nod knowingly, and kiss him on the cheek and you know what she would always say?"
Rudy finally turned around for the girl. Gwen's eyes filled in tears as she Rudy's torn expression, trying to hold in a sob.
"She would say, 'Get 'em next time," Gwen tearily chuckle. "I don't remember much from my mom but I remembered that day like it was yesterday."
Rudy sniffed and turned fully to the girl and caressed her face, making Gwen lean to the touch and close her eyes in peace. "I'm the only one you have. You helped me through all and you think I'm just doing this as a thank you? You're like a mom to me and I would come back for you for everything."
"You stupid child," Rudy sniffed.
Gwen laughs, "I'm your stupid child. Always."
πΈπ·πΈ
"My name's Adrien. What's yours?"
"Kagami," the girl takes his hand and shakes it, walking to her car. She stopped and glanced back at the boy.
"You're also friends with that girl?"
Adrien stopped and thought back and remembered she also met Gwen. He grins and nods, "Yeah. Gwen's great."
Kagami stopped as he saw how his eyes sparkled at the mention of the other girl and smiled too. "I wish to get to know her as well."
"You'll love her. She's amazing," Adrien grinned.
Kagami nods, opening the car door before turning to Adrien. "Get ready for that decisive match!"
"I can't wait," he smiled.
Kagami smiled and gets in her car. The car drove off and she can only stare out the window.
"Gwen, huh?"
πΈπ·πΈ
"I'm going to take over their miraculous so we'll never be separated again! I'm also going to find Ghost-Spider! Then I'll be able to make my wish come true!" Robostus nods.
"What wish?" Max frowned.
"I want to be a real human like you, Max!" Robostus turned to his friend, empathetically.
"What's this about making a wish?" Ladybug exclaims.
"And taking Ghost-Spider?!" Chat's voice was muffled but they were able to hear it. Chat groaned, "Doesn't Hawkmoth usually demand the miraculous?"
Ladybug frowned as hearing about taking Ghost-Spider was the first thing she heard.
πΈπ·πΈ
Worried, he walked over and crouched next to the tub. He checked her over but nothing. He grabbed her hand, making her slowly open her eyes. She blinked and slowly sat up.
Chat refrained from staring too much as her clothes clung to her curvy figure.
"You can hear me, right?" Chat worriedly asked.
Gwen frowned as she was actually able to hear. She looked down at her arm and saw that it was healed.
What the hell? How is that possible? It doesn't take minutes to heal. With this much injury, she would need a week at most. This is strange.
Gwen looked up and saw that Chat was waiting for an answer. Seeing the worried expression he had, she smiled.
"Y-Yeah. I guess Ladybug's miraculous helped me. Thank you, Chatnoir," she smiled.
He let out a sigh of relief and leaned on the tub. Using his arms as cushions and his chin on his arms. "Thank goodness. Ghost-Spider can't heal after the miraculous Ladybug and I thought the worse if the same thing happened to you."
Gwen looked down at her arm and saw no burn marks or anything. It can't be possible.Β
πΈπ·πΈ
"What would happen if someone possessed Chatnoir's ring and Ladybug's earrings, Master?"
"Then the bearer could use them conjointly," Fu responds, showing his tablet and bringing Tikki's and Wayzz's attention. "And with a special invocation, obtain the ultimate power. The one that shapes reality."
"Ultimate power? Shape reality?! Wait, what does that mean?" Marinette's eyes widened.
"Well, basically, it can make one wish come true," Fu smiled.
"Wow! That's amazing! But why don't we use it, then? We can ask for so many good things, like, end all wars, or eradicate poverty, or beat Hawkmoth," she grinned.
Fu frowned, "Universe must always stay in balance. For every action, there is a reaction. For every wish, a price to pay in return. Had your robotic friend asked to become a real boy, someone would have lost his humanity in return."
"I hadn't thought of that," she frowned before looking up at him. "Then...why does Hawkmoth want to have Ghost-Spider?"
Fu and Wayzz's eyes widened at the information and glanced at each other. "Tell me, Ladybug. Have you asked where she comes from?"
Marinette rubs her nape, "I did, but she wouldn't tell me. Can't you tell me, Master?"
He shook his head, "I cannot say. But I can say one thing. That girl is strong and capable of many things. Especially when she has yet to wake her full potential."
"Full potential?" her eyes widened. Does he mean that Ghost-Spider can be stronger than she is now? That the hero hasn't used her full power?! That's amazing...
Fu nodded, "Yes. She has yet to learn and much to battle within others...and herself. When the time comes, she will tell you and Chatnoir everything she knows. Hawkmoth knows she doesn't have a miraculous but has a greater power to be unleashed.
"In order to get that power, he would use her for his wish. That's why Ladybug and Chatnoir must never lose their magic jewels and Ghost must never lose herself. The universe's balance is at stake."
"Neither Hawkmoth nor anyone else will get their hands on Ghost-Spider or the Miraculous, Master. I promise!" Marinette nods.
πΈπ·πΈ
"It seems your incident with Dr. Ray affected your system. Although there are no signs of a symbiote in your bloodstream, there are signs of reluctance."
"What does that mean?"
"It seems that symbiote left their DNA and synced with yours. Unfortunately, it's dead to take more data but it resulted in leaving behind their corpse in your system."
Gwen's eyes widened in disbelief and sat back on her chair as she finally caught on to what the gum was. The stupid symbiote clung to her before burning itself to a crisp. It's dead.
But they left their remains in her.
"Does that explain the rapid healing these past few days? I remember fighting Riposte and she sliced me on the chest but it healed too fast. I thought it was my own healing but it was the symbiote doing everything?"
"Affirmative."
Gwen hesitated, running her fingers to the scar on the back of her ear. "Is it...killing me?"
"I cannot say, it is healing you but your activities have also slowed you down."
Gwen sighed, rubbing her nape in exhaustion. "Is it growing? Will it consume me? You need to tell me more than that."
"No. The symbiote remains only attached itself to your DNA and your muscles, healing any viruses or wounds that are inflicted on your body. In a way, it's helping you."
Gwen glanced at her window and back down at her hand and chuckled dryly. "Gee, I guess I really am a monster huh?"
"Affirmative."
πΈπ·πΈ
Chat blinked and narrowed his eyes at her. "Huh? Ghosty?" he looked once over at her and tilted his head in confusion. Ghost groaned and webbed the ground, proving herself that it was her.
Chat blinked and turned to her, "What happened to your suit?"
"Busted. Robostus messed it up and my suit is still in the making so just ignore this outfit," Ghost rolled her eyes.
"Huh. You look tiny," he teased.
Ghost slapped him upside in the head, "I'm taller than you, dummy."
πΈπ·πΈ
Chat chuckles, shaking his head. He stopped as he spotted something from Ghost-Spider.
He saw a glimpse of blonde hair.
πΈπ·πΈ
Adrien glanced at the girl and stopped when he looked closer at her blonde hair. He moved a piece of her hair behind her ear, getting a better glimpse at her.
Gwen stopped and turned to him. She frowned as she noticed how close he was to her. She can basically feel his breath on her face, making her confused about his intentions.
Adrien focused solely on her making her breath hitch at the intense look he has in his eyes. She noticed as they have gotten closer. Their lips were close to the touch.
Adrien was entranced by her blue eyes. He didn't realize how close they were until Gwen slammed her head against his.
He yelped and rubs his head in pain. He looks back at her but only saw her rubbing her head too.
"What was that for?" he blinks.
"Huh?" Gwen blinked. "Weren't you checking my temperature?"
Adrien deadpanned at her words and took him a few seconds to realize what he was doing all this time. His face flushed in embarrassment as Adrien's bodyguard coughed a laugh.
Adrien's eyes widened and covered his mouth.
Was he about toβ?
He cursed himself as his eyes moved towards her lips and flushed more
πΈπ·πΈ
Ladybug hummed in thought. "We can at least try. It wouldn't hurt, would it?"
Ghost sat up. "I'm sorry, but I can't go along with this. I'll see you guys around."
Ladybug and Chat called out to her but she webbed herself away to the Eiffel tower. They saw how tense she was when she sees The Owl. Something is definitely wrong with her. They barely know a thing about her but they all are getting along. They just wish to understand more about her.
Reaching the top, Ghost sat and stared ahead. Encouraging the man that he is a hero would only make things worse. Trust her, she knows perfectly well.
πΈπ·πΈ
Gwen smiled softly as he was thanked for his actions by the citizens. She laughed softly as the fire captain even hoot. Her eyes lowered and leaned back on the wall, looking up at the sky.
If only things were this easy.
Peter tried to become a hero by turning himself into the Lizard which cost him his life. All because he believed to be exactly like Ghost-Spider. She was too cocky back then and ignored his cries for help and beat him.
She's just thankful Mr. Damocles was able to see it first.
πΈπ·πΈ
He felt awkward as he didn't talk to the girl when they went to school but he only smiled as Gwen rode on her skateboard and threw her arms out as if she flew.
He can see the peaceful wings on her wings withering away as she skated further and further away from him. And honestly? He wasn't sure how he feels about that.
What would it be like if he flew away in peace next to her? What would it feel like to be by her side and enjoy her company?
Does he...does he want to be with her? He's not sure. But he knows of one thing. He wants to be by her side in her greatest and worst moments.
But does that mean he...likes her?
He followed after the girl and stopped as Gwen rode on a ramp and did a flip. His eyes widened as her blonde hair waved in the air like fire and her blue eyes shined brightly as her smile.
"Yeah...no way."
πΈπ·πΈ
It is an intense feeling you have for affection towards someone. You feel like you can't part from them because it only makes you feel like you can't be without them for a second. You feel a strong urge to be by their side and hold them and never let them go...
She remembered perfectly how his eyes shined brightly and clung to her everywhere. She remembered perfectly how they stuck to each other when they were kids. She remembered their arguments and laughter.
The only person she felt towards this word was one boy and he was gone because of her.
Peter Benjamin Parker.
Gwen was a fool. She never knew that he had a crush on her. She didn't realize how her heart drummed against her chest or how her hands sweat as she neared closer to the boy. She believed at first that their friendship was a caring "brother-sister" love but no.
She remembered very perfectly how his warm blood pooled in her cold, small hands. How his breath was ragged and warm. How his green eyes were growing dimmer and dimmer as he desperately clung to her one more time like a lifeline.
With her new strength, she felt so weak when she held him in her arms. He was smaller than her yet she felt so tiny clinging to him for the first time.
She pleaded him to open his eyes. She yelled at him. She shook him, she punched him with her strength but he was far too gone. He left her and she never forgave him for that.
Gwen loves this boy. Gwen loved this boy and she'll never forgive herself for killing him when he needed her most.
Love is for children. She found it the hardest way possible and she refuses to make the same mistake to love anyone ever again.
πΈπ·πΈ
Her heart dropped to her stomach. The fear and anger filled her veins as she grabbed her clock and threw it across the room. It shattered but it didn't affect the shadow at all.
Taking a closer look at the figure, her blood ran cold as she saw those familiar green eyes glaring at her blue ones. She knew those eyes everywhere. It always chilled her to the bone.
"...Peter?"
Gwen was terrified to blink and the boy would be gone. She whimpered, dropping to the ground, and looking up at the shadow. But like dust, he flew away.
Leaving her once again, clinging to her soul and fears.
πΈπ·πΈ
He landed above them on a rooftop and goes to jump down but blinked when Gwen singlehandedly punched and kicked them. His eyes bulged widely as she jumped on one's shoulders, wrapping her legs around his neck, and swinging herself down, knocking the man down.
She jumped away, doing a backflip, kicking the other in the face. Cracking her knuckles, she jumped and kicked the last one to the ground.
Chat paled. But not because of the cracking or the yells of the men. But he saw a glimpse of someone taking her place. He could have sworn he saw someone else instead of her.
He saw Ghost-Spider in her place.
πΈπ·πΈ
She loved someone?
Chat's head snapped up and ran after her, grabbing her arm and turning her to him. He looked up at her and gritted his teeth.
"What do you mean by gone? What about shadows?"
Gwen's eyes slit dangerously and removed her arm away from him. Her heart pulsed against her chest loudly, echoing in her ears as her senses flared for danger.
"He's dead!"
It was quiet. It had gone too quiet for their taste. They didn't realize they were the only ones on this lone street. Only the chipper of birds was heard but by then it's still too quiet for their taste.
Chat paled at her words. His heart dropped to the ground. The man she loved...is dead?
πΈπ·πΈ
Chat's eyes softened more as he heard her laugh when he made her dip backward. He forgot about everything around them. He forgot about his school. He forgot about his lessons. He forgot his friends. He forgot his father. He forgot about Ladybug.
Gwen was the only thing in front of him and it made his heart race as she smiled at him. Giving her a last twirl, he pressed her against him. He couldn't help himself but stare at her lips and back at her eyes.
It felt soothing being with her. He never realized how amazing she is. She's strong, beautiful, courageous, and so gentle. Through her strong facade, he can see right through it.
He didn't realize it when he cupped her cheek or leaned close to her. Chat doesn't know why, but he liked how she flushed at his touch. He shivered as he felt her warm breath hitting his face softly.
Their humming was quietened as they were getting close and close during the moonlight. Their lips were close to meet and yet so far. Chat was scared. He doesn't know what he was doing and yet it felt right.
He didn't want to push her so he waited...and waited...but nothing came to him.
He opened his eyes and stopped as Gwen tearily stared at him. His jaw dropped and moved away from her in panic.
Gwen sniffed, turning away. She clenched her fists. Her heart kept drumming against her chest, she doesn't know why it pains her. The thing was, her body wanted her to kiss the hero but it wouldn't be fair for the both of them.
They were only distracting themselves. They don't feel that way for each other.
"Gwen..." he frowned worriedly.
"Chat...We're at our low right now. We both know that you only wanted to forget about Ladybug by kissing me. Sorry to burst your bubble, but..." she gritted her teeth. "I'm not just a second choice. I'm not just someone that will always be there when you need them."
Chat's heart dropped at her words. That's what she thinks about him? He frowned and reached his hand for her but stopped. Is she right?
Was he only using her because Ladybug broke his heart? She deserves more than that. She is in pain because she lost someone and here he is bringing her along and just trying to ease the ache.
But something part of him tells him he's not. He also wanted to cheer her up. He doesn't want to see those tears. Not from her.
Chat clenched his fist and grabbed her wrist, pulling her and turning her to him. His green eyes glared at her seething blues. He saw those eyes before but it was different this time.
She was vulnerable. His hands lowered and grabbed her fingers gently, feeling the warmth of her gentle hand.
"You're anything but that. You deserve more than that. You definitely don't deserve anyone who wronged you, Gwen. How can I prove to you that I am not using you?"
Gwen stubbornly shook her head, closing her eyes in denial. He is too good for her. She doesn't deserve his kind acts. Even if he's only trying to be nice to her, she doesn't deserve it.
She doesn't deserve any of it.
Gwen faced him and goes to speak but stopped as warm lips met hers. Everything around her disappeared. Tears welled up and flowed freely as she whimpered.
Chat closed his eyes and hugged her to him, gently hugging her tightly. They didn't seem to mind when their teeth clashed with each other but felt warm as Gwen clung to his back. But she didn't push him away.
He pulled her closer to him in a desperate attempt to be together as one. He doesn't feel lonely. He never was. She was always there in front of him.
She needed him just as much as he needed her. Chat groaned lowly as Gwen kissed him back. She doesn't know why but it felt nice. It was so warm and so nice. She hated it but it felt right. Her mind burned in horrible images but it still warmed her.
Their lips separated as a string of saliva connected them. Their lips were swollen and they panted from the lack of air. They weren't sure how long they were doing it but it didn't feel long.
Chat wiped away a stray tear from her cheek and cupped it. Gwen leaned to his touch subconsciously and looked into his eyes.
πΈπ·πΈ
Chat saw that and kissed her hooded head. She flinched but didn't move away as it was planned.
Glaciator saw through it and turned away. Chat glanced at the girl and gasped as he saw a glimpse of blue inside the hood. It chilled him to the bone as he instantly recognized those sea blues.
Is it...really Gwen?
πΈπ·πΈ
Glancing at the alley, she spotted two men smoking. But what caught her attention was they were smoking through a purple stem of a plant. She frowned at it, not seeing anything dangerous about it.
She knew to not ignore the dangers when her senses trigger but this is her field trip. She's not going to interfere or anything.
"Hey! Come on!" Gwen heard Lila's shouts from a few meters. Gwen shook her head and followed. She stiffened as her body suddenly felt weak. Her muscles loosened, causing the soles of her feet to leave her fall to the ground.
πΈπ·πΈ
Her scars.
They were littered on her arms and there were three, long, diagonal scars on her chest from her left shoulder to her right hip. They weren't noticeable but they were slightly pink.
She laughs at their expressions. "I had surgery when I was younger and needed blood tests," she lied.
She's not going to admit she got them when she was fighting crime. The three scars on her chest are another thing she doesn't want to admit.
The girls were still concerned but they saw the way she grinned at them and left it be. They all decided to talk to her more and laughed the rest of the night. Some got out one by one to their rooms, leaving Marinette, Lila, and Gwen behind.
Gwen only cherished the burn on her body and ignored the scorching heat. She noticed Marinette has been quiet ever since she told her little lie. She sighed smoothly before glancing at the girl.
"Is there something on your mind?" Gwen asked, peeking at the girl next to her.
Marinette was more silent and flinched noticeably as Gwen pointed her out. She gulped and fidgeted with her fingers.
"The...scars on your chest. They're not from surgery is it?" she shyly asked.
Gwen chuckled dryly, glancing at the sleeping Lila before leaning her head back and staring at the sky.
"...No, it wasn't."
"What happened?"
Gwen didn't blame the girl for being curious and knows the girl meant well. She looked down at her scars and lightly caressed them with her fingers, remembering exactly how she got them.
"Back home. There was this prom and there was a fight and I tried to stop it but got hurt in the process as you can see. In a way, it's a little memento for what happened that night."
"Did you have fun at least?" Marinette asked curiously.
Gwen's eyes dimmed slightly. "It was a night I'll never forget."
πΈπ·πΈ
"You're Ghost-Spider," Adrien finally stated.
"Yup," Gwen popped.
He sweatdropped. She didn't even deny it. He saw she rubbed her nape and started walking to a cave. Seeing as he was going to be by himself, he followed after her.
"You're supposed to deny it! Gwen! I'm not supposed to know it!"
Gwen rolled her eyes, "It doesn't matter. You already saw it and besides, I had to save your life. I don't care if I had to reveal myself, your safety comes first, Adrien."
πΈπ·πΈ
Adrien looked behind her and finally understood her warning and nodded. She nodded back and quietly walked towards the light. She felt her body getting heavier as she was getting near the lights.
She clenched her fists and leaned against the wall. Taking a deep breath, she peeked out and gasped.
Gwen and Adrien walked out and gasped at the sight. There were glowing purple flowers around them.
"Vibranium."
πΈπ·πΈ
"Adrien. I'm...from another universe."
πΈπ·πΈ
She looked closer as her eyes met his angered pupil-less eyes. She gasped as flashes burned in her mind. Her body scorched as she felt something was burning her from the insides.
She heaved as she can hear screams with fighting following. The blood spattered on the ground as a few lights snapped into deep darkness and silence.
Gwen removed her hand and pants as she didn't realize the tears welled up in her eyes. She gasped and heaved as she dropped to the ground. Her heart raced rapidly as she started looking around frantically from every statue to the next.
"No..." she whispered as she started hitting the ground and heaved loudly. Tears fell from her eyes to her mouth as she kept screaming in agony.
"No! No! No!" she cried, hitting the ground constantly.
She gasped and struggled to her feet, searching for the particular statue around. Moving away from the others, she finally found it. Her lips trembled and gasped as she fell in front of it. There was a spider-man statue reaching out for help, crawling on the floor.
πΈπ·πΈ
Grabbing one of the near flowers, she raised it to take a closer look and paled in horror. She never believed to see it in her life. She has been told horror stories from Spider-man from Earth-616.
This creature destroyed the world in a blink of an eye. He described it very well that it gave Gwen shivers to her spine when she heard it. She was told that he and his Avengers were able to defeat him.
She shook her head in horror and took a step back in fear. Why was it doing here?! Here of all places?!
Gwen was immediately distracted as she felt a whisper in her ears. She didn't sense anyone near her but her eyes wandered to the creature's hand and gasped at it.
The Infinity Gauntlet.
"No way..." she gasped as all of the infinity stones were still shining on Thanos' stone statue.
She looked back at the army and finally realized that they were trying to run away from him but didn't make it. She looked back at the gauntlet and didn't realize she was trembling. Her hands shook as she can see her reflection through the stones.
"You found me...Gwen..."
πΈπ·πΈ
That was when she felt something grab her wrist and pull her harshly. Her head snapped back and saw Thanos' face dusting slowly as the six lights were suddenly surrounding her.
She didn't know how it happened. But the next thing she knew, she was screeching in pain as something was burning her inside out. Her feet were stuck on the ground as her vision was covered in different colors.
The pain was so excruciating, that she can feel her body peeling slowly and burning off. She wasn't able to hear Adrien's shouts in worry calling for her and trying to get to her.
Her legs gave up on her, dropping her to her knees as she kept screaming until her voice became hoarse. She started sobbing uncontrollably as everything was stabbing her on all sides. She gasped and cried out, unable to feel the drool falling and burning her skin as blood fell from her mouth, ears, and eyes.
She couldn't breathe.
She couldn't move.
It hurts.
It hurts!
The statue was dusted away, leaving the tortured girl in its place. Her blue eyes were completely dimmed. Her body was burning and yet she couldn't make any more noises as she fell limp to the ground.
Adrien coughed as the dust moved away. He frantically looked around and gasped to see Gwen on the ground unconscious. Gritting his teeth, he started running towards her in worry.
That was until Plagg flew out of his pocket and flew in front of him in fear. "Don't! Don't go near her!"
"What happened to her?!" Adrien screams as he tries to evade Plagg but he keeps blocking him.
"I can smell danger from her! Don't go near her until we know it's safe!" Plagg tried.
"She's my best friend! Something happened to her and I need to be with her!" Adrien was finally able to move away from Plagg and crouched next to the smoking girl.
Adrien paled at the appearance of the girl. There were burn marks all over her, including her face. Her skin was completely grey, almost scaring him if it wasn't for the shaky elevation in her chest. His eyes teared up as he gently grabbed her hand.
He winced as it burned to the touch but he didn't move away as he carried her to his chest. He was terrified. It seemed like Gwen knew what it was and he didn't know if she was going to be all right.
Not only that, but he can see different lights underneath her skin, worrying him more. This isn't good. He got on his feet and started climbing to get themselves out of there.
πΈπ·πΈ
She punched her fists, feeling the familiar warmth of her suit materializing from head to toe.
Seeing as everything is in order, she glanced at Adrien and at Gargan and carried them out of the mountain, but not before setting everything inside on fire.
Burning every last heart-shaped herb.
Her breath heaved as she can feel herself burning too. Thinking back on those statues, she stoically stared at the fire. Whatever happened there, hopefully, they can rest in peace.
πΈπ·πΈ
She felt at peace.
Gwen blankly stared at the void and smiled, raising her arms and laughing in relief to see no scars inflicted on her. She spotted a dim light behind her and slightly turned. She frowned at it, not liking the idea of going.
Instead, she felt comfortable when someone was calling her. Turning back, she felt the familiar warmth coming from a white door. It was consumed by golden flames. Glancing back at the light, she turned back and took steps towards the burning door.
As she kept walking, she felt all of her burden and power leave her. She can hear a name being called out as she touched the door knob. Biting her lip, she turned it and opened the door. She was instantly blinded by a golden light as she entered.
πΈπ·πΈ
He took notice of her stare and glanced at her. He smiled and picked up her hand, kissing her knuckles.
"I'm glad I'm here with you," he whispered.
Gwen smiled softly, kissing his knuckles too. "I feel the same."
She hugged his arm as they walked on the sidewalk. It was soothing for her. She didn't believe it. It was perfect for her. It must have been an awful nightmare to think everything was gone from her grasp.
Gwen stopped at the familiar building in front of them. Oscorp Industries. She frowned at it. She came here before, but she didn't have any recollection of so.
"Is something wrong?" Peter asked, stepping next to her. He spotted the building and frowned at it before finally remembering it.
"Remember? We came here for a field trip a while back," he spoke, getting her attention.
"...I don't."
πΈπ·πΈ
She looked around the store and stopped as she spotted today's magazines. She frowned a little and picked it up, nodding to the store owner and looking at the contents.
She hummed at the picture of a woman with long black hair wearing handcuffs as she was entering the police car. 'Cindy Moon arrested for illegal experiments.'
Gwen shook her head in disappointment. The woman was very famous for her company and to hear she has been conducting experiments on spiders was insane. She heard rumors of working along with Norman Osborn but who knows?
πΈπ·πΈ
"Come, little one. We have much to talk about," Thanos delicately grabbed her hand, guiding her away from the window. Gwen struggled but it was too late as a golden hue brightened the dark void.
It took time for Gwen to adjust to the sudden light and finally saw the many statues in front of her. She frowned further as Thanos stopped in front of them.
"You saw them," Thanos started, facing the statues. "A long time ago. The big bang sent 6 elemental crystals. Hurtling across the virgin universe. The elemental crystals each control an essential aspect of existence. Space...Reality...Power...Mind...Time...and Soul..."
"You might find this surprising," he glanced at the girl, seeing the girl looking up at him curiously. "Everyone here came to this universe and became the first heroes without the need of miraculous. The guardian and everyone here worked alongside each other for many years..."
"But...we all sensed the power of the stones, coming to the island where Wakanda resided. We all believed the power of the stones can help so many lives...but the miraculous holders believed it was a power too dangerous. After years of distrust, the miraculous tried destroying the stones.
"In which resulted in a war between the miraculous holders and everyone here," he started touching every statue, dusting away the stone, and showing a live person behind it, revealing Wolverine first.
"We didn't want to fight back but it had to be done as the power of the stones brings balance to the universe. Defeating the miraculous holders, we had to find a way to bring all this conflict to an end. Banner chose the idea of starting over, using the time stone.
"I ended up getting the vote as we all assumed the power of the stones won't take control of me...but it was a mistake," Thanos looked away as he touched several other statues.
"You worked with them?" Gwen asked, staring at the stoic heroes coming back from their slumber.
Thanos nodded, smiling softly at the girl. "I worked with the Guardians of the Galaxy," he chuckled before continuing his story.
"The power of the stones took control of my body causing everyone slowly turns into stones. It wasn't painful," he states, seeing the confused look in her eyes. "In fact, it put each one of us into a long slumber of our dreams we wished. Just like you."
πΈπ·πΈ
Gwen's lip trembled as she stood up and walked towards the window. Her heart broke as she saw the smile Peter still gave her, his hand still on the window. She placed hers on top of it, not wanting to part.
"Do I have to go? Why can't we be like this? I don't want to wake up with you not with me. I'm sorry, Peter. Even if you're not real..." she sniffed, sobbing softly.
"I love you so so much and it hurts that you're not by my side like always. I'd do anything to have you with me. Why can't I? It's so unfair!" she cried.
She looked down at her hand and cried more as the ring pop started to dust away along with the window.
"You promised! You'll never leave me!" she shouts, pounding on the window. "Don't leave me!"
Peter smiled at her as his feet started to dust away.
"I love Ghost-Spider. But I love Gwen Stacy more," he smiled through his tears.
πΈπ·πΈ
"Do you feel this?" Adrien tightened his grip on her arms making her eye twitch.
Not receiving an answer, he grabbed her hands and placed them on his face, continuing to stare at her. "Do you feel this?"
Gwen can only stare at him in confusion as he used her hands and slapped himself. Her eyes widened and tried to remove her hands from his grip but his hands tightened on her hold. "Do you feel this?"
Gwen gritted her teeth, shaking her head to remove herself from him but he headbutted her, leaving his head on hers. "Did you feel that?"
Adrien held back a groan as he didn't realize the girl's head was a rock and continued glaring at her. He stopped for a moment seeing the pain in her eyes and sighed softly, leaning his head on hers.
"Those things from the other night...the lights. They did something to you and hurt you. I don't know what happened but I am glad you're here. Whatever we have gone through or what we have is real."
He lightly grabbed her hands and placed them on his chest. Gwen's eyes softened slightly as she felt his pulse through his shirt. She can see the sincereness in his eyes and bit her lip.
"Do you feel that?" he whispered. His warm breath hit her softly making her shiver slightly as she realized how cold it has gotten.
"That's my heart...if I wasn't real, do you really think my heart would be beating this crazy for you right now?"
πΈπ·πΈ
"Because you're my bad luck charm. Nothing will ever be interesting or fun without you, Gwen," he smiled as he felt warm tears on his shirt as Gwen hugged him back.
"No matter how many times you push me away, I'll always be waiting for you."
Adrien went through his pockets, taking out his little box and showing it to her. Gwen opened her eyes as she sensed it and her eyes widened at it. It was the same box Peter gave her. She bit her lip and opened it. She softly gasped as it was a small golden anklet of a clover.
Gwen softly smiled, pulling out the small jewelry. She looked back at Adrien and shook her head. "You shouldn't buy things like this to me. How much did it cost?"
But Adrien smiled at her, taking the anklet and kneeling down in front of her. His eyes lowered to adjust the jewel on her right ankle but Gwen's eyes never wavered from his figure. After a few minutes, Adrien finally stood up and gave a hand to her.
Gwen stared at it for a moment before slowly grabbing it, and looking into his eyes. Adrien smiled at her before kissing her head, making her flush.
"This can be the symbol of our charm."
πΈπ·πΈ
What she didn't know, a few buildings away from Gwen's destination, an old man gasped and clutched his chest while he heaved. The turtle kwami exclaimed in worry and rushed to his master but the old man snapped his head to the window.
"That power...is here," he pants as he grabbed his cane and headed out. He needs to know where it comes from.
Another man, in his mansion, was waiting for his son to arrive home when he felt immense power overwhelm him, causing him to stumble a little. His assistant rushed to his aid, helping him stand up but the man moved away, gasping for air.
"What is this power?" he coughed. "Where is it coming from?"
"Sir?" his assistant frowned but the man only smirked, ignoring the sweat falling from his head to his clothes. "I want it."
πΈπ·πΈ
"It's coming from you," Master Fu's eyes widened.
"What are you talking about?" she frowned, getting defensive but Master Fu grabbed her wrist, hovering his other hand on her arm. Gwen paled as there were several glowing colors in her system. She gulped and looked at Master Fu but he was solely focused on her arm.
Gwen frowned and snatched her arm back, "What about it? What do you know about it?"
Master fu only stared at her arm but Gwen hid it behind her back. "Talk," she demanded.
"That power was lost for centuries," he whispered in horror. "Do you realize what you have done?"
Gwen frowned, not understanding completely what he is talking about. "I know what they are," she started. "I almost lost my life because of it and I know what they are capable of. I don't plan to use the stones. I don't even know how to use them and I don't plan to know."
"No, my child," he shook his head and stared at her in pity. "Taking an object from one universe to another can cause the balance to tilt. Now, having the stones inside you has already caused so much damage to the balance."
Gwen's heart to her stomach, not wanting to know what he is going to say.
"Having the stones from this universe in youβ"
"Get away from her!"
Master Fu's eyes widened as he was suddenly slapped in the face with an orange purse.
πΈπ·πΈ
"Scan complete."
Gwen took a deep breath through her nose and bit her lip, opening her eyes. She waved her hands as a hologram appeared around her. Her eyes narrowed as she saw her atoms behaving differently.
"What am I looking at?"
"It seems your spider DNA is defending itself from the stones. But they are slowly adapting to it, attaching themselves together."
"Is there a way to get rid of them?" Gwen shook her head as she sat on her sofa.
J.A.N.E.T. kept scanning the system but spoke. "I'm afraid it is impossible to do so."
Gwen clenched her fists, gritting her teeth. "Is it killing me? Tell me good news J.A.N.E.T." she silently pleaded.
"I'm unsure. The symbiote's remainsβapologies, Chaos' remains are saving you from the infinity stones' power but it can be too much for your body to handle. You barely managed to survive but I'm unsure how unstable it can become."
"I was afraid that can happen," Gwen murmured, thinking back to the heroes when they held back the stones from killing her. But they're gone. What if it happens again? No one will be there to stop her.
Gwen sighed. She looked out the window and noticed the sky getting darker. She's not sure if she should patrol, knowing that she will do something dangerous to the people.
She's a ticking time bomb.
She's sure of it now. She can't stay any longer. She already fucked up this universe by taking their sole power that balances their universe.
"Fuck," she cursed, covering her face with her hands. "What can I do?"
πΈπ·πΈ
"Woah! Who's this superhero friend of yours? No offense, but I thought we were the only ones?" Chat smirked.
Ghost crossed her arms as she also wanted to know. She was right with one thing. Master Fu had more miraculous with him.
"Chatnoir, Ghost-Spider, I like you to meet...uh..." Ladybug hesitated, not knowing what to name her.
"Uh..." the newcomer hesitated, looking back to Ladybug. "Re-ena Rouge! Yeah, Rena Rouge!" she nodded.
πΈπ·πΈΒ
"Marinette. Promise me something. It is very important," he stared back at her. "Whatever happens. Don't lose your trust in her. When the time comes, it will be up to you to move your chest piece to protect the king."
πΈπ·πΈ
"You wanted to know where I'm from," she started.
Ladybug's eyes widened as she listened closely. The information she needed to know to understand her will be revealed tonight. She clenched her fists unknowingly as she felt that what she is going to hear will change everything between them. And she's not sure how she's going to take it.
She glanced at Chat but was surprised to see him not much affected towards Ghost's words. That is weird.
"I am Ghost-Spider," Ghost started, lifting her chin and stoically looking at them. "I'm from another dimension."
πΈπ·πΈ
"Bringing myself into this universe already put a sudden imbalance. But with the most powerful stones in the universe being part of something from another universe, I don't know what can happen as it is dangerous as it is. I'm only asking this of you both."
Ghost walked towards them and grabbed their attention immediately as she punched her chest.
"When and when the time comes that I lose control, I need you to kill me."
πΈπ·πΈ
Ghost's eyes widened as Ladybug willingly pulled her in a hug.
"I won't let you die, Ghost. Chatnoir and I are not going to kill you because it won't come to it. We refuse to let this happen. These months have been a miracle because of you, we can't be a team without you. You're our friend. We'll help each other and rely on each other. I promise you that! So, please! Don't give up!"
Ghost's eyes widened as silent tears fell. She trembled as she slowly hugged the hero back as she hugged her tightly, afraid that she would wake up.
Ladybug is going to save her. And she won't go back on her promise.
πΈπ·πΈ
Solitude.
Gwen's eyes followed the credits and found the familiar name on the screen. Emilie Agreste.
πΈπ·πΈ
He jumped out of Gorizilla's hand and fell off the tower. Ladybug goes to get him when Gorizilla caught her along with Ghost-Spider. Both girls' eyes widened in horror as Adrien continued to fall.
"Adrien! No!" Ladybug cried out.
Ladybug squirmed in its hold but Ghost was paralyzed. Her face paled as she visibly shook. Her breathing was coming out irregularly as she saw red. Why would Hawkmoth do this? To his own son?!
Her eyes darkened as she grabbed the nearest finger from Gorizilla and moved in the opposite direction, breaking it. Gorizilla screamed as he didn't anticipate the pain. Ghost was released and used that time to fling a fist back and punch directly at his jaw.
Ladybug gasped as Gorizilla's eyes fell back to the back of his head as he was unbalanced and fell off the tower.
Ghost's eyes were still dark as she webbed Ladybug out of his hold. Not giving any word, she carried Ladybug over her shoulder and threw her at a fast pace towards Adrien. Ladybug screamed at the speed and yelped as she caught Adrien.
Ghost saw this and webbed them together. They weren't that heavy but they yelped at the sudden stop. Ghost sighed as she slowly lowered them down.
She sighed in relief and fell to her knees. Her hands trembled as she raised them to her face.
Had it been her to catch Adrien, she wouldn't know her strength. She was furious. No. She was seething.
Cracking her knuckles, she stood up and dived down to meet Adrien and Ladybug. She was met with Wayhem hugging Adrien in relief. She dropped down to the ground in her signature crouch and rushed towards them.
She found Ladybug and pulled her in a hug. Ladybug stiffened at the sudden contact but smiled as she patted her back.
"Shit, I thought I didn't make it," Ghost whispered. She looked back at Adrien and rushed over to check on him.
πΈπ·πΈ
"Um...I've been meaning to say something," Ghost started, getting his attention. "I...I'm sorry about a few nights ago. I didn't mean to throw everything to your guys' shoulders like that. I know you can rely on me with your problems, you know that.
"Don't think much of what I said. I have it handled," Ghost nodded and goes to walk away but Chat grabbed her wrist, stopping her from her tracks.
Chat visibly frowned. "No, I'm sorry for reacting like that. It's not my place to say no when you're asking for help. But..." he gritted his teeth. He didn't know what to say.
"I can't kill you," he whispered. "The last times I hurt you, it pained me. More than you realize. You're my friend, my comrade. I will find a way to help you. You deserve to find your family again one last time. I promise, Ghosty. So please, don't feel bad to rely on others, trust others to help you."
Ghost was quiet and listened to his words. She nodded as she playfully punched his shoulder. Chat chuckled as Ghost swung away towards her apartment.
"Just...rely on me Gwendy. Please. I won't let you die," he whispered as he left to meet Wayhem.
πΈπ·πΈ
Ghost removed her mask and grinned at him.
"You bastard," Gwen chuckled, taking a hand out to him. "We weren't able to finish the movie. We're watching it now, let's go."
Adrien grinned, not caring to see the movie a second time. He grinned widely because he can spend one more time with Gwen for the day. He ran towards her and grabbed her hand as she jumped out of the window.
Gwen smiled down at him as his eye were still on hers. Her hand tightened on his and couldn't help but flush at the sudden jump from her heart when she was captivated by his green hues.
"And what do you mean by Gwendy-tingle?"
Adrien laughed as they both ran toward the theatres.
πΈπ·πΈ
Walking down the staircase, she knocked on the door first but didn't get a response. She smirked as she opened the door, finding the boy sleeping under the blankets.
She could hardly see him and grabbed a spare pillow on the ground and smack it down on him. She blinked as the covers sunk down, seeing no sign of the blue-haired boy.
Gwen's senses flared and turned around in time to block the pillow attack on her own. She smirked as Luka was pushing down the pillow.
"Out of my sight! Thou dost infect mine eyes!" Luka snorts at her words.
"Fooleth!" Luka laughs, pressing the pillow harder. "Thy strength is nay matcheth for mine own worth. Begone peasant!
Gwen smacked the pillow from his grasp and pointed her pillow at him. She smirked in victory. "Thee shalt kicketh the bucket from mine own hands. Doth thee, sir Luka Couffaine has't any lasteth words?"
Luka sighed and playfully shook his head in shame. Gwen smirked and raised her pillow above him and smacked him, causing him to wail in pain and lie on the ground.
"Death," Luka deadpanned as he dramatically dropped his hand in his pillow's direction but he was gone.
Gwen playfully sniffed, wiping away a fake tear and dropping to her knees. "Nay! What has't i done? To mine own owneth brother!"
Gwen picked Luka from the head and slapped him across the face which caused him to wake up and wince at her strength. Gwen burst out laughing as Luka tried to slap her back but she dodged his hands.
"You and your tricks, Couffaine," Gwen chuckled as she sat up.
πΈπ·πΈ
She was later bombarded by Rose by choosing one of the songs.
Gwen blinked when she chose one of the cringiest songs she made. Basically, writing it for Marinette to sing for Manon when she couldn't sleep.
Gwen laughed awkwardly. "Um...that song was for Manon. It's not one of my songs. I mean, it is. But not the ones I wrote."
πΈπ·πΈ
"You're amazing. You both are real magicians, girls," Luka smiled.
"You think so? Oh, it was nothing. Uh, amazing, really?" Marinette looked up at him.
Gwen blinked owlishly. Her jaw dropped. Does Marinette like Luka? That's a first.
πΈπ·πΈ
Everyone grinned as they saw Adrien walking over, waving to everyone. Gwen's and Marinette's eyes widened as Adrien was about to trip. Marinette tried to call him out but was unsuccessful as the boy tripped and fell on the ground, bringing the instrument with him.
Gwen turned away, muffling her laughs as Nino ran over, worried for Adrien. Adrien smiled, "It's all good, Iβ" he stopped as he finally noticed the case, opening it.
"Whoa, an original ZX20.4! I love the sound of this instrument!" Adrien turned to Anarka.
"Aww, that old thing? No one knows how to play it," Anarka smiled.
"I know how to play it," Adrien grinned.
Luka smiles, walking over to him, and giving him a hand. "Great, welcome to the band Adrien."
Adrien smiled back, taking it. "Thanks, uh..."
"Luka," Luka introduced.
"Thanks, Luka," Adrien smiled.
πΈπ·πΈΒ
Gwen saw as ChloΓ© was eyeing Marinette as the girl passed. Gwen sighed and walked over to ChloΓ©.
"Hey," she spoke, getting the girl's attention. "It's fine. Don't listen to them. Sure, it's nice to give someone a gift, but you're not obligated to do it if you don't want to. You can give Miss Bustier a gift next time."
ChloΓ© scoffed, looking away. "You don't have to keep defending me all the time, you know. I can handle my own."
"I'm sure you do," Gwen smiled. "Just looking out for my non-friend friend," she smirked and laughed as ChloΓ© attempted to slap her shoulders.
πΈπ·πΈ
"Well, you shouldn't go far! Scaredycat!"
"S-Scaredycat?!" she was appalled and slammed her fist on his head making him exclaim in pain and hold his head tenderly.
"Why were you screaming earlier?" she huffed, sitting on the grass in front of him.
Peter sighed as he pulled something out of his pocket. Gwen's eyes sparkled as she saw a rounded rock in his hand. "Whoah! What is it?"
Peter hummed, taking a closer look. "Aunt May said they're called pearls. She said pretty girls wear it as necklaces and earrings."
"Cool!" she goes to snatch it but Peter moved it away from her hands making her pout. "Hey! I want to see it."
"I found it. I'm going to give it to the prettiest girl!" he turned away.
She gasped and pointed at him accusingly. "I'm pretty! Mommy said so!"
"Yeah right," Peter sweatdropped. "I'm giving it to Aunt May."
"Pfft!" Gwen laughed. "She's old!"
An irk mark grew on the boy's temple as he tackled her and wrestled her onto the ground. Gwen smirked coyly as she was always the winner, kicking him away. She laughed as she stood up, throwing her hands in the air.
"I win! I always win!"
Peter huffed, tucking the pearl in his pocket. "Whatever. You're not pretty anyways. You don't deserve it."
"Oh?" Gwen smirked at him. "Once I grow boobs..." She pointed at him, throwing her head far, arching her back to look down at him. "I will be beautiful! Muahahaha!"
"Pfft!"
"H-Hey!" Gwen blushed as she stomped on the ground frustratingly.
"Yeah, I'll let you know," Peter rolled his eyes.
He stopped as he look up at the sky and gasped. The colorful wisps came back, surrounding the field they were sitting in. Gwen gasped too as her eyes sparkled at the sight of pretty lights. It reminded her so much of Christmas lights.
She can feel their warmth as she spread her arms out, enjoying the cool breeze and lights. Peter stood up next to her and spread his arms too. Peeking an eye, he looked down at her and tucked the pearl in her pocket before looking away.
Gwen felt a small weight in her left pocket and tucked it out. Her eyes widened and turned to Peter who still had his face turned. She blinked as she can see the redness in his cute little ears. She shrugged, holding onto the pearl tightly in her small hand.
πΈπ·πΈ
Gwen's eyes opened, staring blankly at her ceiling. She sighed as she lifted her hand and rested it on her collarbone. She closed her eyes, wanting the feel the warm pearl that once was wrapped around her neck but once again was gone.
πΈπ·πΈ
"Do you hide secrets from people you truly trust?" Chat asked.
Gwen's eye peeked at him before closing it. "If it is to protect someone I care about, yes. What's this about?"
Chat deadpanned as he realized that Gwen is basically hiding the fact that she's Ghost Spider from everyone. He shook his head. "I don't want to rant."
"Coolβ"
"It's Ladybug!" Chat stood up and paced around the living room. "We're heroes and have been partners for so long and she's suddenly hiding secrets from me? Doesn't she trust me? Then she up and left with Rena Rouge," he huffed in disbelief.
Gwen's eyes opened slowly and looked at the cat. So this is what's about...Ladybug isn't telling him about Master Fu. She hummed, looking down at her hands.
"I don't work for Hawkmoth if that's what she's worried about. I've been loyal to her more than anyone and yet I feel like she doesn't trust me," he frowned.
πΈπ·πΈ
"Nooroo...how can I obtain more powers?" Gabriel frowned in thought, not looking at his kwami.
His kwami, on the other hand, trembled at the mere sight of his owner. "What do you mean, Master?"
"Don't treat me like an idiot!" Gabriel snapped, turning to his kwami. "Ladybug and Chatnoir have new powers. How did they do it?"
"We kwamis do not know the recipes," Nooroo tried.
"It's inside this Grimoire, isn't it?" Gabriel lifted the book. "Can't you read it?" he asked as he flipped over the pages.
"Only the Guardians can. I don't know anything, I swear!" Nooroo cried out.
"Well then," Gabriel smirked. "I will have to find this Guardian of the Miraculous, wherever he is."
He flipped through the pages and found an image of a body with a spider in its hand. "Do you know anything about a particular spider?"
Nooroo's eyes widened which caught Gabriel's attention. "So you do...tell me everything."
πΈπ·πΈ
"I don't doubt it," Fu chuckled as he took out a paper from behind, handing it to her. Gwen grew confused as she took it and read over it.
Her eyes widened and looked at him in disbelief. "You're not serious," she murmured as she re-read through the page.
"Well, how would you like to live with me as my granddaughter?"
πΈπ·πΈΒ
"You also have to forgive yourself too," Lila states, making Gwen's eyes widen.
Gwen sighed, looking down at her hands. "I don't know about the last part...I..." she stopped, not knowing what to do.
"What do you want, Gwen?"
Gwen looked up at the father and daughter, laughing once again while running around the fountain.
"I want to go home...but I also don't want to. It's been eating me and I don't know what to do. It hurts. Just thinking about how my old man is doing, I don't know how he is. But if I do go, I don't know if I'll ever see you guys again."
"No," Lila interrupted, shaking her head. "What do you want?"
Gwen saw the sincereness in her eyes. She felt her heart drop, not knowing how to answer the question. There's no right answer but it feels like she has to answer the question correctly yet she feels immense guilt for even thinking about it.
"I...want to be special," she whispered, looking away from Lila's eyes. "Just like Peter thought I was but I'm not. I feel incomplete without him and yet I forget everything when I'm around Adrien. I don't know! It hurts! I don't deserve to like someone when I'm just going to be gone. It's not fair."
πΈπ·πΈ
Gwen goes to deny it when she realized her face was close to his as she cupped his cheeks. She lightly blushed again as she looked into his green eyes.
They look so familiar to her. And no. Not the greens from Peter, but more...feline.
Her eyes widened as she could have sworn, she saw the familiar cat hero in him and moved away as if he burned her.
"Uh, I...my package!" she snapped, making him flinch. She noticed this and smiled apologetically. "Yeah, um...vibranium is coming today. And I'm planning to create an easier way to create a transporter."
"Oh, yeah?" he sadly asked.
Gwen cursed her heart from skipping a beat when she sees his expression. "Yeah, maybe I can find a way to transport myself to different universes and...come back. Here."
"Really?!" Adrien beamed at her idea. "I'm sure you can do it!" He looked down at his phone and saw the text message from Nino and called Marinette, putting it on facetime.
Gwen sat next to the boy as she saw Marinette's grinning face.
"Hey guys!" she greeted.
Shit...That's right...Gwen's eyes widened. She completely forgot about Marinette! She cursed at her heart as she saw the soft smile Marinette gave to Adrien. She can't do that to Marinette. It's like...breaking the girl code or something.
πΈπ·πΈ
Landing on a near building, Ghost started looking around to find ways to fight and rescue Alya, Ladybug, and Chat. Not only that, Nino keeps coming back.
"Are you okay, dudeβuh, Ghost-Spider?" Nino asked as he saw how tense she was.
"I'm fine," Ghost spoke as she looked around, seeing the pillars. "Okay, I think I knowβ"
She screamed as she felt her chest suddenly burning. She crouched to the ground, holding onto the floor. Her heart pulsed rapidly as she tried to breathe.
"Are you okay?!" Nino asked, confused about what was going on. She didn't seem hurt earlier. What happened?!
"Shut...up," she groaned as she removed some of her suit and show her wrist. Her eyes widened in horror to see her veins brighter than before. How is this happening?!
"What?" Nino's eyes widened at her wrist. "What is that?"
"Don't come near me!" she ordered as she looked at the ground once more to calm down. She closed her eyes and thought of anything to calm herself down but the pain only ached more. "Agh!" she bit her tongue, the metallic taste filling her mouth as she tried not to scream.
πΈπ·πΈ
"What's your name?" Ghost demanded, crossing her arms.
"Nino. Nino Lahiffe," he gulped, introduced himself. He thought she would be intimidating but not this intimidating when he's taking the hit of her demands.
"What are you trying to do? Are you fighting? Because, even though it's the harsh truth, you're too weak."
"I don't care," he glared into her mask but Ghost wasn't affected by it. "I want to protect her at any cost."
"Protect, huh?" Ghost sighed as she rummaged through her pocket, taking out the bracelet.
"Nino Lahiffe. This is the miraculous of the turtle which grants you the power of protection. Once the job is done, you must return it to me. Can I trust you to protect not only those around you but...to look after my back?"
πΈπ·πΈ
Ghost only sat in silence, not knowing what to say. Fu noticed and waited. It was quiet for a moment but Ghost sighed. "Why would you want to adopt me? Me of all people?"
Fu smiled, "You're special. And I want to help you control your powers."
"So you're putting me on a leash. To keep an eye on me?" she narrowed her eyes.
"No. I know you're strong. I want to help you become stronger for what's to come. And I know you will be ready by then...that is if you trust me."
πΈπ·πΈ
"Rain pattered, filling out the beating drums in her chest. Storm compelled against everything, yet couldn't hide the filling tears that dropped on the bloody chest. Cold yet burning to the touch. Shivered? Trembled? It was blurred.
Desolation? Fury? Confusion?...Fear?
The beautiful greens...were gone...only filling the reflection of the broken above them.
It was dark. Just like every introduction in stories and yet can't describe the cold empty void drowning her slowly as she reached for him. The beating drums against her chest rhythmically pounded her to reality.
The blood on her white dress. It wasn't hers. Her blues desperately looked for the glowing fireflies within his empty soul. Clutching his body to hers, ignoring the now cold drips staining her now-red dress. She pleaded, she screamed, she cried, she shrieked to reach him but was no use.
She was gone..."
πΈπ·πΈ
She glanced to her guest room, using her thumbprint to enter. Gwen stopped as she stared at the machine in front of her. It was small. Could be used as a bracelet.
She did it. She finally finished her transporter.
Using the vibranium that was sent to her, she finally finished the final touches. Yet, she hasn't test tried it. Gwen was worried for many reasons. What if it doesn't work? What if it does work but sends her back in time? What if it does work and sees her father? What if she can't come back?
So many theories terrify her of the outcome. Gwen stopped as she took out her phone, seeing Adrien's face calling her. She bit her lip in thought...not knowing if she should answer. Two days ago, Gwen couldn't help but put space between them.
Her heart kept skipping steps when they were supposed to walk. Her hands sweated every time she sees his smile and it scares her to see him upset. What doesn't help her case is his father.
She knows who his father is...she knows what he has done. Yet, why hasn't she done anything? She has the technology, and the evidence to prove he should be gone.
But what would happen to Adrien? She cursed herself, knocking over her clock off the table to sit on it. She could have done it before just like she's supposed to.
But why does she hesitate? Because he'll end up alone, moving away to a shelter. Away from his friends who he cares for. He'll be alone.
πΈπ·πΈ
"Is there something on me?" he asked, patting his face.
"Just your stupid face," she deadpanned making him agape at her. "I don't have a stupid face," he defended.
She chuckled, "I'm kidding. You look tired, why don't you eat and go to bed? The homework's not due until Friday."
"That's tomorrow," he laughed.
"Really?" she blinked before shrugging. "I'll just turn it in when the teacher's collecting them."
He chuckled, turning back to work. "By the way...have you been avoiding me? You missed the photoshoot with Marinette the other day."
Gwen sweatdropped, taking a bite. "I was busy. Couldn't make it." She refused to say more. But Adrien turned back to her. She flinched as Adrien placed his head against hers.
Her cheeks lightly bloomed as Adrien cupped her cheek, "You're getting hot. Do you want some water?"
"No," she whispered, shaking her head but didn't move away from him. She enjoyed his warmth on her cheek. Especially when he rubbed his thumb lightly, caressing her skin.
They didn't know how. Their faces neared closer as they felt the warmth of each other's breath, making them shiver simultaneously. Their lips were close to meeting as they both closed their eyes.
πΈπ·πΈ
Sandboy smirked, flying down and throwing something at the beast. "Give it to her!"
Peter looked at the bead and turned to the girl in front of him. Using the wound to his advantage, he dug the bead inside making her shriek in pain.
Chat gritted his teeth as he had enough and ran over to get her. "Ghost!" He jumped and threw down the staff but grunted as a body collided with him. He landed on the ground and moved away from Nightmare Ghost's punch.
"Come back here!"
Chat kept going, trying to reach for his best friend. But he was tugged from behind. He looked back to see Ladybug grab his tail. "We have to defeat Sandboy! She can't hold on much longer!"
"But she's hurt! I have to get to her!" Chat cried out desperately.
"We will! We have to defeat Sandboy! Come on!" Ladybug grabbed his hand and ran away. Chat looked back and saw Ghost was limp in the beast's hold.
His eyes teared up and followed Ladybug. "Forgive me...please forgive me..."
πΈπ·πΈ
"Peter...you have no idea how much I wanted to see you...at least one more time...but not like this," she choked.
"What are you talking about?" he growled as he clenched his claws in her.
Ghost whimpered but shook away the pain, feeling the blood loss pooling in the ground.
"I wanted to say sorry for a long time," she continued while panting. It felt like the world around her gotten quiet. She could only hear her heaving breaths as she tried to stay conscious to continue talking.
"It was because of me that you turned out this way...It was because of me that we couldn't have the future we both wanted," she cried but kept going.
"It was because of me you got bullied...It was because of me that you're dead."
"That's right," Peter slammed her on the ground. Ghost shrieked in pain but held on to keep talking.
Ghost still reached for his face. Her tears burned her skin as she smiled at him through her mask. She cupped his face as she brought him closer, leaning his head against hers.
"I have always been a monster...It just...pains me that you're not really here to...tell me your real feelings," she hiccuped as she felt heavy.
"But if you were really here, you would know...my real fear is seeing you...blame yourself for leaving me alone when it wasn't your fault in the first place."
"....it was mine."
πΈπ·πΈ
It was dark. Just like every introduction in stories and yet can't describe the cold empty void drowning her slowly as she reached for him. The beating drums against her chest rhythmically pounded her to reality.
The blood on her white suit. It wasn't hers. Her blues desperately looked for the glowing fireflies within his empty soul. Clutching his body to hers, ignoring the now cold drips staining her now-red suit. She pleaded, she screamed, she cried, she shrieked to reach him but was no use.
Peter's body disappeared with the magic, leaving her to scream in the streets and ignore the horrid pain in her abdomen and shoulder. She screamed out to the sky, not forgiving anyone.
She screamed as Chat ran over and hugged her to him. She punched effortlessly but he kept hold of her as she sobbed loudly.
"I'm here," he cried. "I'm right here. You're not alone."
"He's gone! He's gone!" she cried, clinging to him.
"I'm sorry," he hugged her tighter. "I'm so sorry."
Ghost continued to cry, not realizing the mind stone was glowing brightly. It reached the bead inside her, destroying it. In the process, it sees through her mind and erases her wish for her happiness. But she'll soon come to realize that it would be her biggest regret.
Nightmare George...gone.
Hawkmoth's identity...gone.
Her eyes dulled as she limped in Chat's arms. Chat can only stare at her in pain, bringing her closer to him. "Please, don't leave."
His best friend's hopes, dreams, and smiles. Her everything...gone.
She was gone...
πΈπ·πΈ
Chat glanced at Gwen and smiled. "Just like you and me, m'lady," he joked.
Gwen visibly cringed and laughed, holding her stomach. Chat blinked, not expecting her to laugh at him. He would see her smirk and chuckle most often. But to see her laughing wholeheartedly made him relieved.
"Don't call me that," she laughed.
He smirked, leaning to her face. "How about madam? Peaches? Blossom? Peanut?..."
"Stop!"
But Chat kept teasing which made Gwen laugh harder at the names. Nathaniel, Alix, Marc, and Ladybug can only stare owlishly at their teasing. Nathaniel and Alix, on the other hand, glanced at each other knowingly.
Who would have thought that they like each other?
πΈπ·πΈ
"Do you ever get the feeling that you're stuck, Kagami?" Adrien sighed as he took off his helmet. "That no matter what you do, it's the same old story over and over again. That things will never change?"
Kagami stopped as she saw the forlorn expression he had. She took off her bag and sat next to him. She knew what he was talking about. No, not what. Who he was talking about.
Kagami would hear Adrien's stories about his friend, Gwen. He can see the sparkles in his eyes when he talks about her and their small adventures. She knew he liked the girl and knew it wasn't going anywhere.
"Adrien," she started. "The biggest mistake a fencer can make isn't choosing the wrong technique. It's choosing the wrong target." She glanced at the boy and saw he wasn't giving much thought to her words so she cupped his cheek and made him look at her.
"Change targets," she smiled.
πΈπ·πΈ
"Hey, I'mβ"
"Gwen Stacy," Kagami stated. "I've heard about you."
"You have?" Gwen blinked and glanced at the others but saw they were in deep conversation. "I hope it's good things," she nervously chuckled.
"I heard you make Adrien often upset and bring your problems to him," Kagami deadpanned.
Gwen's senses flared and narrowed her eyes at the girl. "What problems?"
"I've heard so much from Adrien, I can tell what kind of person you are. Do him a favor and..." Kagami stood next to her but faced the others. "Deal with your burdens yourself. Don't bring him more pain."
Gwen's eyes widened as Kagami walked towards Adrien but Gwen stood in her spot.
Now she's pissed.
πΈπ·πΈ
Chat bit his lip again. "Do you think your friend is just afraid for you?"
"Afraid? What for?"
"If you're leaving, they must be worried for you," Chat glanced at her but Ghost shook her head.
"I must be crazy for acting this way but I was kind of expecting something that will never happen."
He blinked, turning to her as Ghost turned away. "I kind of hoped...he could wait for me." She thought of Kagami and Adrien's soft interaction and sadly smiled. "But I realized it was too much to ask. He deserves happiness, that at least I could give."
Chat frowned, glancing at her hand while she fidgeted. "Maybe..." he started as he grabbed her hand gently. "He wants to be happy with you and no one else?"
"Perhaps," she shrugged. "But I have problems to bear on my own and I'm not dragging him anymore. He deserves a normal life."
πΈπ·πΈ
Adrien's eyes widened and scratched his nape, "Really? Thank you." His eyes stared at Gwen for a moment and stiffened as Gwen was already staring at him.
His cheeks flushed and looked away as they heard a knock on the door. The door was slightly ajar and Nathalie peeked in. "We have to go," she cleared her throat.
Marinette nodded and started heading back to her friends and stopped when she noticed Gwen wasn't following. Gwen smiled at her, "I'll catch up with you in a minute."
Marinette nodded and followed Nathalie but not before seeing Adrien and Gwen start talking to each other. She lightly frowned but walked off.
πΈπ·πΈ
She gasped as Ghost's figure was glowing purple from the gold. "Ghost!" she gasped. Are her powers acting up? At a time like this?!
"What is that insect doing?!" Style Queen tried to stay still but the floors started to crack and break under them.
Ladybug turned and grabbed Ghost's shoulders and paled as she recalled this color on the hero's veins.
Power.
Ladybug cursed as Ghost's power was increasing to break her situation, causing everything around her to break. The power was too intense as it was reaching even the city. The buildings were breaking like glass, bridges collapsing, and dust flying everywhere as the sky darkened. The water rushed in every direction, taking anything with it.
Ladybug noticed as Ghost was using the power, the barrier also cracked. She used that chance and kicked the barrier down, snatching the rose from Adrien's lips.
"No!" Style Queen shrieked but Ladybug broke the rose apart, releasing the akuma. Ladybug smiled as she purified it and brought everything back to normal, including freeing those from the golden state.
She wasn't aware of the consequences and flew back when Ghost was also released. She yelped as she landed on the ground. She snapped her head back up to see Ghost panting and landing on her knees.
"Ghost!" Ladybug exclaimed and ran over to get her but stopped as her veins were shining purpled for a moment and relaxed. It took her a second and peeked to see it gone. Tapping her lightly, she pulled her in a hug.
πΈπ·πΈ
Marinette saw as Ghost and Adrien landed in front of the building the fashion show was held. She hid as Ghost webbed herself away as Adrien entered. Tikki flew out of her pocket and turned to her.
"Marinette, aren't you forgetting something? You have to bring the miraculous back to Master Fu!"
"But the magic ladybugs already brought it back, didn't they?" Marinette turned to her and to her dismay, Tikki shook her head. "Wait! If they didn't, then...I...lost a miraculous!" she gasped.
πΈπ·πΈ
She frowned as a small box by the size of her palm was on the floor with strange patterns carved on it.
When they walked to the fashion show, they grew more irritated to know that it was postponed to the next day so they took a cab back to the hotel. Audrey was horrified by it but "quietly" fumed. But ChloΓ© couldn't help but look at the box in her hand.
By the time ChloΓ© was in her room by herself, it was already sunset. The light baked the room a red hue. ChloΓ© lifted the box and opened it.
She was expecting something stupid but she surely wasn't expecting a bright golden light flying around her. It stopped mid-air and the light now took shape of a small bee creature.
"Hello, my queen," the kwami bowed.
ChloΓ©'s eyes widened and gasped. "GWEN!"
πΈπ·πΈ
"I...don't...believe this! Ladybloggers, a huge update!" Alya murmured. "That's Gabriel Agreste, he hasn't been in public in ages."
Gwen's eyes followed the man as he walked down towards Adrien. Adrien couldn't help but stand in shock. He took off his hat as he stared up at his father but Gabriel used that chance to pull the boy in a hug, causing everyone to react.
Every photographer stood up and took pictures of them as everyone stood in disbelief.
"Scoop number two! Gabriel Agreste has turned up! And that means we'll be seeing your hat in every single photo and news broadcast!" Alya excitedly turned to Marinette.
Gwen couldn't help but feel a cold shudder as the man glanced at her briefly. She didn't know why, but she felt like she was forgetting something important about him.
πΈπ·πΈ
"It's...It's ridiculous! Utterly ridiculous!" ChloΓ© snapped. "I've never been to New York with you and you're taking Marinette Dupain-Cheng?!"
Audrey wasn't at all affected by her daughter's tantrum. "I'm taking her because she's exceptional Claudetteβuh, ChloΓ©."
"I'm exceptional too!" ChloΓ© held back tears.
"The only exceptional thing about you, my dear...is your mother."
Gwen's eyes widened as she subconsciously clenched her fists in fury. Adrien glanced at her and gulped at Gwen's glare.
"Audrey! Dearβ" AndrΓ© intervened, placing a hand on ChloΓ©'s shoulder but ChloΓ© shoved him away, glaring at her mother.
She knew she was a disappointment. She knew how long her mother is always traveling and never cared to even look at her. Hell! She doesn't even call her to check up on her! She always called but it would be ignored and when she finally wants to make it up to her, not only is she humiliated by everyone.
But she was humiliated in front of Gwen too. Gwen doesn't know anything and yet she doesn't have to!
ChloΓ©'s frame shook in fury as she clenched her jaw. "I'll show you how exceptional I can be!"
ChloΓ© went through her pockets, taking out the familiar carved box which made four people stiffen up.
"ChloΓ©!" Adrien shouted.
"No!" Marinette shouted.
Gwen's eyes widened as ChloΓ© opened the box as a yellow light shined around to reveal a bee kwami along with a hair brooch.
πΈπ·πΈ
"ChloΓ© doesn't deserve you," Gwen murmured as Adrien and Marinette stiffened, paling at the girl. "You think you're some kind of King or something to treat her like that?!"
Audrey and AndrΓ© stopped as they saw through Gwen's seething blue eyes, snarling at them. Adrien immediately rushed to her, hugging her and pulling her away from them.
"Adrien!" Gwen struggled but Adrien covered her mouth.
"Such an insolent child," Audrey glared down at the girl but Gwen wasn't at all intimidated. Audrey's head snapped to Tom and Sabine, making them flinch back. "Is she yours?"
"No, they aren't," Gwen moved away from the boy.
Audrey scoffed at her, taking in her appearance once more. "Such a thing should behave to adults. Your parents must be like dogs like you, barking and no bite."
"Come closer and you'll find out." Gwen threatened.
πΈπ·πΈ
"This girl...who is she?" he spoke.
Adrien's eyes softened as he gazed at the picture softly. "She's my best friend. Gwen Stacy."
Gabriel's eye twitched. He didn't particularly like the way Adrien stared at the picture. "She must be a handful."
Adrien's eyes widened and turned to him immediately. "She's not always like that. She's just worried for ChloΓ©, we all are."
Gabriel hummed, turning back to the window.
Gwen Stacy...
πΈπ·πΈ
My blasters had to go to extreme heat to purify the akuma and fried my bracer. That was my only time to do it and who knows if I can do it again. It would take too much from my technology.
πΈπ·πΈ
Ghost nodded and webbed herself away. As she made a turn and glanced back to see the heroes rushing back to the mission, Ghost took the call.
"ChloΓ©? Are you okay?"
Ghost's eyes softened as she heard a sniffle from the phone. "I need you...please, Gwen."
Ghost's eyes narrowed and started webbing fast to the hotel. "I'm on my way, don't do anything stupid. We'll talk things over, okay? With some hot chocolate and some scary movies, whatever you want," she cooed as she sped up.
"I'm sorry, Gwen. I tried to be nice," ChloΓ© cried.
Ghost smiled as she spotted the hotel. "I can see the hotel. I'm running in. Wait for me."
πΈπ·πΈ
"According to me, ChloΓ© just clearly demonstrated that there is nothing exceptional about her," Audrey turned away which made ChloΓ© pout more.
Ghost shoved her face to the tablet, making Audrey flinch back. Ghost waved at her before hanging up the call. She grabbed the tablet from Nadja and "yawned" throwing her arms out and "accidentally" throwing the tablet into the water.
"So tired," Ghost yawned, ignoring Nadja's shocked expression, and crouched in front of ChloΓ©. "Hey," she whispered. "Not everybody is perfect. But you know better than anyone that you always have someone there to support you."
"Anyone can make mistakes," Ladybug smiled. "Even a superhero. What matters is how you fix them. I personally made one by losing that miraculous. Don't make the mistake of not giving it back. Act like a hero."
"And show everyone how exceptional you can be," Chat smiled.
ChloΓ© frowned, looking down at the object before looking back at the heroes and standing up. ChloΓ© sighed and handed back the miraculous as Ladybug gently grabbed it from her hands.
"Thank you," Ladybug smiled. Ladybug and Chat turned to leave when ChloΓ© stopped them.
"Ladybug? Chatnoir? Ghost-Spider?...I'm sorry."
πΈπ·πΈ
ChloΓ© sadly looked around and met Marinette's eyes. Marinette nodded and smiled at her. ChloΓ© hesitated but sighed, looking up at her mother. "Why don't you love me, mom?"
πΈπ·πΈ
ChloΓ© walked back to her room as she goes to turn on the lights but stopped as she saw many coloring lights in her room. Her eyes widened as there were Christmas lights around her room. Her bed sheets were formed into a fort with pillows scattered around the floor.
"What?" she frowned.
"Surprise?" Gwen popped out of the fort, holding a bowl of spicy chips. "I feel like movie night. I wasn't sure what chips you like so I brought anything spicy and any horror movie I had along with my little pony but that's meβ"
Gwen stopped as ChloΓ© tackled her in a hug. Gwen softly smiled, placing the bowl on ChloΓ©'s bed, and hugged her back.
"I'm right here," Gwen whispered.
"I know," ChloΓ© whispered back, hugging her tighter. "The movies suck, choose a better one."
"Hah?! These are the good ones, though!"
"I don't care, I'm not watching the Conjuring again!"
πΈπ·πΈ
"It, it was me," she admitted defeatedly. "I hurt my daddy's feelings. Because I want to leave Paris, forever."
Chat's eyes softened.
"Because of what happened in school?" Ladybug asked. "I'm sure Marinette probably didn't exactly mean what she said."
ChloΓ© shook her head. "It's not just her. Actually, I don't even care about her. It's because I have no reason to be here. Nobody likes me. I have no friends. I'm...useless," ChloΓ© cried, wiping away the tears.
Ladybug's eyes softened. "A friend once told me 'nobody is useless', ChloΓ©."
"It's easy for you to say that. You're Ladybug, a superhero. You serve a purpose," ChloΓ© looked away.
"Yes, I can fix up all the messes. You said it yourself in your documentary," Ladybug smiled.
ChloΓ©'s eyes widened and gasped. "You saw it?!"
Ladybug nodded and ChloΓ© groaned, facepalming. "I'm so embarrassed. That film's ridiculous. Utterly ridiculous. I realize that now."
"Don't worry, ChloΓ©. You can fix your own messes if that's what you want. You, too, can serve a purpose. But you have to want to," Ladybug nodded.
ChloΓ© sniffed, wiping away her tears. "I do want to."
Ladybug grinned as she helped her up. "ChloΓ© Bourgeois, here is the bee miraculous, which grants you the power to immobilize your opponent. You will use it for the greater good," she handed the same crafted box to ChloΓ©.
πΈπ·πΈ
"What is on your mind, Gwen?"
She hummed as she clenched her fists. "Do you think...I can be able to control this power in me soon?"
Fu blinked, "Is there something you have in mind?"
Gwen nodded, "ChloΓ©'s family is going to be in danger because she revealed her identity. She can be in danger too. I want to be able to control the Mind stone and fast."
πΈπ·πΈ
Her heart panged painfully as Gabriel was saddened. She knew she can't do anything but she refuses to do nothing. She'll do anything to help him and his family.
"If it were to fail, Nathalie," Gabriel spoke up, eyes not removed from the state. "I could never forgive myself."
"You made a promise to your wife. You've risked so much for the chance to bring her back," Nathalie showed her tablet to Gabriel as he turned to her. "Lila has been harboring her rage against Ladybug for months and today wherever she looks, she'll see the object of her hatred, and as predicted, her anger will reach devastating heights. Your plan is perfect, sir," she smirked.
"And you're...sure you want to do this?" Gabriel looked back at her.
Her eyes softened, "I will always be here for you. We will succeed."
πΈπ·πΈ
"Liar! Traitor! Coward!" Lila gritted her teeth. She stopped her computer as Gabriel was being in an interview with Nadja Shamack.
"In honor of the wonderful Ladybug, Chatnoir, and Ghost-Spider who have saved my son, Adrien, and myself, and who relentlessly protect all of us every day, I have financed this tribute to them. Because they are the only true heroes unlike Ladybug's mediocre imitations, such as Volpina," Gabriel smirked.
Lila gasped in disbelief before throwing her laptop to a wall in rage, breaking it. "I hate you, Ladybug!"
πΈπ·πΈ
Marinette stared at the treats she was making and frowned as something has been eating her for a while. But she's not sure how to bring it up without making Gwen uncomfortable. Gwen is her friend and has always been there for any trouble.
But what if she's right? No, she could be wrong.
πΈπ·πΈΒ
"Wayzz! Shell on!" Nino grinned as he transformed into Carapace and grinned at Ghost.
"Once the mission is over, you'll return the miraculous to me and me only. Got it?" Ghost asked as Carapace nodded. "One more thing," she started.
Carapace blinked.
"Do you remember...my episode?" Ghost asked, making him remember the purple veins on her and nod. "I need you to stay quiet about what happened that day. Also, if anything happens while I'm in my episode again, I'm going to need you to shield me away from the others."
Carapace's eyes widened. "You mean, you're going to do something later on?"
"I need to do it, that's why...watch my back at all times."
πΈπ·πΈ
"Maybe he's figured out how to boost his powers, just like we did," Adrien spoke up.
"But that doesn't seem right," Ghost spoke up, making the teens turn to her. "You guys have a power boost based on adapting to your environments like water, ice, and more. But boosting powers to use your special powers all the time? In this short amount of time? Can you guys use your Lucky Charm or your Cataclysm more than one time?"
The teens frowned, "No. What are you thinking, Ghosty?"
"It can be a coincidence," Ghost shrugged. "It's just a theory. I'm not really sure how your powers work to an extent but if it boosts your power like that and turns to a different color doesn't seem like it."
"Do you think he's working with someone?" Marinette frowned, understanding what she means.
"Like a said, just a theory. I mean, where is Volpina? Where is she in this? She hasn't attacked us once," Ghost frowned.
"Do you think Lila is working with Hawkmoth?" Adrien's eyes widened.
"I'm not sure. But one thing I know, Hawkmoth is working with someone. It's just a gut feeling."
πΈπ·πΈ
"You're never going to win. Not today or any other day. You're still so green, young heroes. You can't even transform after you've used your powers," Hawkmoth flung a fist back and swung at Ghost but she easily caught it, punching his jaw.
He exclaimed in pain, causing him to roll back before facing her.
"Before you get cocky, asshole," Ghost growled. "Don't forget you're my opponent."
Hawkmoth chuckled, standing up. "You have a splendid gift, Ghost-Spider! It's such a shame you have to be with them," he nodded to the others. "You're overpowered. You can change the world at the snap of your fingers! Don't think I haven't noticed the change of color beneath your skin."
Ghost's eyes narrowed, standing in alarm. "What do you know about it?"
"Everything," he stood up. "You see, Ladybug's and Chatnoir's miraculous aren't the only jewels that can make a wish."
Ladybug's, Chatnoir's, and Ghost's eyes widened. "What?"
"Tell me this, Ghost-Spider? How did those jewels choose you? What caused the heroes' demise? They wished for a new opportunity. And those jewels are inside of you," Hawkmoth taunted, walking towards her.
Ghost stiffened, paling at his words. "What?"
"That's right," Hawkmoth now stood in front of her. "A wish to those jewels of yours will make my reality. And it costs one price...you." Hawkmoth used her vulnerability to grab her arms.
Chat's eyes widened, struggling to stand. That can't be true...that can't be true! "Ghost!"
πΈπ·πΈ
Ghost felt paralyzed. Her eyes dimmed when she caught something in her sight. Something vaguely wrapped around Hawkmoth's neck.
She didn't realize her hands were reaching for it, finding a small, gold chain. Her heart slowly started speeding up. Her hands intensively trembled as she finally caught sight of the jewel on the chain.
A pearl.
Ghost turned the pearl over, fearing the absolute worst. It was still carved with a smudge of blood on it fainty stuck in the cracks.
A flash of blood spread her mind along with greens.
"Where did you get this..."
Hawkmoth stopped, looking down at the girl, finding her holding the necklace. "Where...did you...get...this?"
Hawkmoth wasn't able to answer as a green shield hit them, causing both to fall to the ground. But Ghost didn't care.
All she saw was blood-curdling red.
Ghost immediately turned to Hawkmoth, "WHERE DID YOU GET THAT?!" she screeched, reaching to get him but Ladybug and Chat didn't want to risk her being in Hawkmoth's grasp again and grabbed her, pulling her away.
"GET OFF OF ME! WHERE DID YOU GET THAT?! ANSWER ME!" She shouted, trying her best to go to him but Carapace, Rena Rouge, and Queen Bee stood in front of her, stopping for going closer.
"Ghost! Calm down!" Rena tried but Ghost decked her jaw, desperately trying to get to Hawkmoth but the others grabbed her.
"Ghost! Please! What's wrong with you?!" Ladybug exclaimed in worry as Rena grabbed Ghost-Spider again by the legs.
"Why?! Why do you have it?!" Ghost screeched as Hawkmoth stood up and faced them.
πΈπ·πΈ
"Hawkmoth"
Hawkmoth stiffened, hearing a voice in his head.
"I am Mayura. You're up against the wall, plagued by your deepest, darkest despairs. Let me help you."
"No," Hakwmoth pleaded. "Don't do that!"
"Let your despair be embodied in a powerful protection."
Hawkmoth frowned at the ground, silently agreeing to Mayura's help. It was so sudden for all of them around. A purple blob appeared out of thin air and materialized into a large purple moth.
The heroes gasped in horror at it. The moth flapped its wings, causing the powerful wind to blow them all away. Ladybug held on to her yo-yo as the others fell back.
"What is that monster?!" Ladybug gasped before screaming when her yo-yo became undone. She fell back off the tower but she wasn't giving up, she threw her yo-yo at the monster, pulling herself towards it.
Just as she went for an attack, the moth disappeared. Ladybug desperately looked around but couldn't find it anywhere. That was when she saw something fly out of Hakwmoth's cane.
Ladybug took a closer look at it and gasped. "A feather!"
Chat landed next to her, also looking at the odd feather. Ladybug turned to him in disbelief. "The second miraculous that Master Fu lostβ"
"Was a peacock!" Chat's eyes widened.
πΈπ·πΈ
"Ghost-Spider was right. Hawkmoth is no longer working alone. He had help from the owner of the peacock miraculous," Ladybug stated, walking towards Ghost in assurance and grabbing the broken cane from the ground.
πΈπ·πΈ
Ghost was quiet, looking up slowly to see everyone there but no sign of Hawkmoth. The pearl flashed in her mind causing her to grit her teeth.
"I'm going to kill him."
They all flinched at her dark tone. Rena Rouge, Carapace, and Queen Bee took a step back when Ghost stood up. Ladybug and Chat paled to find Ghost darkly relaxed.
"Ghost...What's going on?" Ladybug concernedly asked.
πΈπ·πΈ
"For your safety, no one can know you are Queen Bee other than Ladybug, Chatnoir, and me," Ghost stoically stepped forward.
Queen Bee reluctantly took a step back. "What are you going to do?"
"After today, your parents and butler were put in danger. You have potential, ChloΓ©," Ghost softly gestured. "That's why I want to help you make everyone forget your identity."
Ladybug's and Chatnoir's eyes widened. "You can do that? Since when?"
"I have been slightly training with the stones," Ghost explained. "We don't have time, you have to decide now. Will you continue to be a hero or not?"
Queen Bee's eyes widened. She thought back to the events today and realized Ghost-Spider was right. Her identity caused her parents *cough* and butler *cough* to be in danger because of her.
Hawkmoth used those she loves against her. She can't let it happen again. Queen Bee looked up at her and nodded. "Yes. Do as you must."
πΈπ·πΈ
She turned to Rena Rouge and Carapace, "Do you know my identity?"
Rena Rouge and Carapace blinked, confused. "Um..are we supposed to?"
Ladybug's, Chat's, and Queen Bee's eyes widened. "It worked."
πΈπ·πΈ
He winced as he felt himself burning at her touch. "Ghost! What's wrong?! Ghost!"
"Shh," Ghost groaned, panting to reach for air. The burning sensation came back. It felt a whole lot worse than using the power stone. She could hardly breathe with smoke filling her lungs and throat. Her eyes watered as she felt herself burning up.
"Ghost..." Carapace turned back to Nino, looking at her in worry with Wayzz. "What's going on?"
"I honestly don't know," Ghost winced, lying on the ground. "Don't talk about this to anyone, got it?"
"But...What about you?" Nino looked around but Ghost waved her hand.
Ghost-Spider couldn't respond as the world around her pulled her to her void and dream of bloodied pearls.Β
