Gwen's eye twitched as she saw everything happening at once. She just woke up and they already chose to be petty on this day.Β
Gwen sighed, rubbing the eyebags and looking at Adrien and Lila arguing over a seat. A seat. Gwen was going to sit next to Nathaniel when Lila surprised her that she was now going to attend school.Β
But Gwen only wanted to sleep and hide behind the class, Lila had none of it. Lila ushered the girl to sit in the front with her when Adrien came and saw Gwen sitting in the front and sat next to her.Β
Lila didn't like that and pushed Adrien to go somewhere else but he said that it was his assigned seat but Lila said that her eardrum hurt and she can't hear but Adrien quickly pointed out her lie which then got into an argument.Β
All the while Gwen just wanted to sleep. The girl couldn't have much from her conversation with Marinette last night. She closed her eyes and lied her head on top of her arms while they continued arguing.Β
Miss Bustier noticed Adrien and Lila talking and heard the news about Lila's condition and clapped, smiling at them. "All right, class is almost starting. Nino, would you mind sitting next to Alya? Gwen, you can go back to your seat, Lila and Adrien will sit here."
Lila and Adrien deadpanned while Gwen stood up and groggily sat at the back. Miss Bustier saw the arrangements and decided to move the students around.Β
Nathaniel abandoned her and sat next to Alix, Juleka and Rose, Kim and Max, and Ivan and MylΓ¨ne. ChloΓ© still sat next to Sabrina. And Gwen is sitting in the back by herself but she wasn't bothered.Β
ChloΓ© attempted to drag the girl to sit next to her but Gwen was fast asleep. That was until she heard the door open. It was quiet but didn't bother to look up.Β
πΈπ·πΈ
She was late. Marinette rushed out of the bakery, stuffing a croissant in her mouth and running to the school. She quickly apologized to MylΓ¨ne's father before closing the door and ran up the stairs.Β
Leaning her hands on her knees, she stood up and quietly entered the class. It seemed Miss Bustier wasn't here but she quickly noticed the seating arrangements. There was an empty spot next to Adrien and grinned before dropping it and sneakily walking around the class and to Alya.Β
"How'd you pull this off, Alya? You're the best. I can't believe you got everyone to swap seats so I can sit next to Adrien. Then again, it might not be the best idea. It could keep me from paying attention in class, and if I fail, it'd be a total disaster because then Adrien and I would never have our own house, the three kids, the hamster namedβ"
"Whoa, girl," Alya interrupted her. "What are you talking about? You're not sitting next to Adrien. You're seat's over there," she nodded to the back of the classroom and to the empty spot.Β
Marinette's eyes widened as she saw the only empty spot next to...Gwen, who is currently sleeping. Marinette frowned, looking down and looking back to Alya.Β
"At the back? Why? What's going on?"
"Well, since she's got hearing aids, there's no way she can sit at the back of the class, right? Which means she needed a place up in the front," Nino butted in.Β
Marinette frowned. She?
"So to make it work, Ivan sat next to MylΓ¨ne, Nate sat next to Alix, besides she came up with the idea of moving Nino here, so now we get to spend more time together," Alya smiled at Nino.Β
"Who is this 'she'?" Marinette asked as Miss Bustier entered the classroom.Β
"Good morning, students. I'm sure you've heard by now, but Lila's home from her trip to Achu, and she's back in school with us again," Miss Bustier smiled as Lila walked inside from talking to the teacher.Β
"Hi, everyone," she smiled at the class.Β
"Hi, Lila," everyone greeted back.Β
"Oh, a seat in the front row," Lila grimaced quietly. "You all remembered my hearing issue! You're such sweethearts, all of you," she blew them kisses.Β
"You have a hearing problem, Lila?" Marinette deadpanned.Β
"Yes, I suffer from tinnitus, a constant ringing in my left ear. I've had it ever since the sound of an airplane engine burst my eardrum on the runaway when I was saving Jagged Stone's lost kitten," she lied.Β
Hearing her voice, Gwen groggily woke up and gave Lila a pointed look.Β
"Isn't Jagged Stone's pet a crocodile?" Marinette smirked.Β
"Now it is, yes. But he had a kitten until he found out he was allergic to it," Lila explained.Β
"Miss Bustier, why do I have to sit in the back now?" Marinette turned to the teacher.Β
"Do you have any trouble hearing or seeing, Marinette?" Miss Bustier curiously asked.Β
Marinette stiffened, not knowing what to say. Adrien noticed this and wanted to help out Marinette if she doesn't want to go to the back. Besides, Gwen really seems tired and he can use this chance to sit with her too.Β
Adrien stood up, "My eyesight and hearing are good. I'll sit in the back and you two can sit up front. I don't mind."
Both girls have different thoughts about his decision. One thought that she'll have to be next to the liar while the other one was not giving him a chance to sit next to her best friend.Β
"No!" Lila and Marinette exclaimed.Β
"My return is causing so much trouble. If Marinette has an issue too, then I should go sit in the back. It's okay," Lila smiled softly but she was internally cheering as she already started heading to the back.Β
The class gasped and scoldingly glared at Marinette. Marinette noticed this and sighed, stopping the girl from going further. "I don't actually have any trouble seeing or hearing. I mean..."
"Good, so there's no problem then," Miss Bustier smiled. "You sit here, Lila, Adrien, you stay where you are and Marinette, you sit in the back row."
It was like the burning tension was building up as Marinette walked up the stairs and hesitantly sat next to Gwen.Β
Gwen sat up and rubbed her eyes. Marinette glanced at her worriedly at the bags under her eyes but looked away.Β
Both girls not knowing what to do...or say...
π·Flashbackπ·
"I like Adrien Agreste."
Marinette blinked. Once. Twice. "What?"
Gwen gulped as she fidgeted with her hands but knew it was no use and to not be a wimp.Β
"I like Adrien more than friendsβ"
"No," Marinette chuckled, shaking her head. "Gwen, come on. Talk to me seriously, what is it?"
Gwen's guilt was building as she grasped the girl's shoulder and leaned closer to her face and look her directly in the eyes.Β
"I have feelings for Adrien, Marinette. I'm not lying."
It took a few moments for her words to register in Marinette's mind. Her eyes slowly widened as her lips were slowly agape. She paled second by second, Gwen feared she wasn't breathing.Β
"You have what?" Marinette whispered in shock.Β
"I have feelings for Adrien."
Marinette's lips quivered but no words come out. She had so many questions. Since when? How? How long? Why tell her this? Why now? Is this betrayal? It feels weird.Β
Her mind went back to Gwen's and Adrien's moments and her eyes teared up. It all made sense.Β
It was back to ChloΓ©'s invitation party. Adrien and Gwen publicly flirted with each other and danced, not to mention the times when they would hang out all the time in school and after school.Β
The trip to Mount Iopadia.Β
Adrien spent the last few days with Gwen too and she noticed the jewelry on Gwen's ankle. After that trip, Adrien and Gwen spent more time around each other.Β
It was now obvious to her. Adrien likes her back...Adrien likes her back...ADRIEN LIKES HER BACK.
It's happening all over again...It's happening all over again!Β
Marinette gritted her teeth and closed her eyes to stop the tears from falling but her face heated up in shame and embarrassment.Β
"Marinette?" Gwen frowned and gasped as the girl was hyperventilating and grabbed a bag from Marinette's collection and covered her mouth.Β
"Marinette, I need you to breathe with me, okay? Breathe!" Gwen's eyes widened as Marinette started to follow Gwen's breathing pattern.
"Gwen...I don't know what to say..." Marinette gasped.Β
Gwen frowned worriedly at her and grabbed the girl's hand. "You don't have to say anything. Slap me, punch me, kick me, anything."
Marinette's eyes widened and looked up at the girl. She gritted her teeth and raised a hand. Gwen's eyes focused on the girl as the hand reached her.Β
But no sound came out of it.Β
Marinette's tears fell as she cupped Gwen's cheek. "I can't...I can't be mad at you. I never had this happen to me before...What should I do, Gwen?"
Gwen's eyes widened as tears fell too, dropping to the ground as Marinette crouched too.Β
Both girls sat in silence.Β
π·Flashback overπ·
Marinette blinked out of her thoughts as she heard sizzling and smelt something burning. She flinched, turning to Gwen who had an outstretched hand behind her. She turned around to see what was the smell but nothing was there.Β
Gwen looked at her, "Just stretching."
Marinette nodded and sighed, paying attention to the lecture.Β
πΈπ·πΈ
It was lunchtime in the CollΓ¨ge FroΓ§oise Dupont. Gwen sat at an empty table with Lila to catch up. The rest of the class wanted to talk to Lila more and sat next to them. Lila mostly mentioned that she was in her room most of the time which she didn't lie...mostly.Β
As this happened, Marinette glanced over at their table and stood in line with Alya and Nino to grab their lunch.Β
"Oh, Gwen! Your wrist! What happened?" Rose exclaimed in shock to see the girl's knuckles were bruised along with the wrist.Β
Gwen stopped eating her breadsticks and looked down at her hands. She nervously laughed, rubbing her nape. "I'm fine, I fell and landed on my hands."
The class murmured worriedly and talked to her. But Gwen brushed them off and sweatdropped at Lila's pointed look.Β
"Okay, I was going on a night stroll. I thought I should bring up my boxing moves and ended up with these."
The class murmured in worry, seeing as Gwen didn't like much attention to it, Lila told a little lie that her wrist hurt too but they were both fine.Β
The class nodded and continued to converse while Lila leaned to her, "I know those bruises. Something happened. Spill."
Gwen sighed, looking at the breadsticks sadly. Glancing at the class eating, she glanced at the girl but focused on her lunch. Gwen couldn't tell Lila. Marinette oddly didn't like the girl already and to tell her that Marinette has a crush on the boy she likes feels like a low blow.Β
"I got into an argument with Gramps," Gwen lied. "Got pissed and punched the wall."
Gwen couldn't tell Lila that after her conversation with Marinette. She felt overwhelming guilt burning in her and punched whatever was near her and it cracked the wall and sprained her wrist.Β
But Gwen ignored that pain knowing her abilities will heal her in a few hours.Β
Lila, on the other hand, didn't buy Gwen's words. She did notice the guilt in the girl's eyes as she looked at the other table. Looking in that direction, she saw that Marinette was looking at them before talking to Alya and Nino about who knows what.
Lila's eyes narrowed...What happened between them? Was she the cause of Gwen's bruised hands?
Her eyes widened as she saw a napkin flying toward them but Lila caught it before it hit her face, making everyone stop and look at them. Marinette laughed, "See that?! It's obvious she doesn't have a sprained wrist."
The class gasped and turned to the girl. Gwen sighed, "Thank you, Marinette. Sorry, Lila. I could have caught the napkin."
Lila's eye twitched, "It would have gouged your eyes out."
Gwen sweatdropped and grabbed the napkin before poking her eye with it. "It's not going to kill me."
The class frowned at turned to Marinette. "Gwen's hurt, Marinette! Are you proud of yourself?"
"No, no, don't blame Marinette," Lila waved to everyone. "She was just trying to give me a napkin. Right, Marinette?"
Marinette visibly frowned and stormed off the cafeteria. Lila's beaming smile dropped slowly as she watched the girl go.Β
There was definitely going on.
Lila smiled at Gwen, "Hey, I'm going to the restroom. You can eat my breadsticks."
"Sweet," Gwen smiled as Lila left but Gwen caught the smallest flaw in Lila's eyes.
πΈπ·πΈ
Marinette growled as she looked at herself in the mirror. Hearing the door open, she turned to see Lila's worried expression in front of her.Β
"Marinette? Oh, are you crying?" Lila walked over to her.
"No, I'm not," Marinette glared at her.Β
"...I can sense you don't like me," Lila stated. She wasn't stupid. She saw it the moment they went on the trip. "But I don't understand why. We barely know each other."
Lila started to look back to why Marinette had this behavior and it all clicked that it connected to Adrien. Why was Gwen in the equation?
"Don't tell me it's because of this new seating arrangement in class!" Lila stared at her as Marinette turned away. "It is! Of course, you're jealous because I'm sitting next to Adrien, because you would've given anything to sit there yourself."
Lila wanted to sit next to Gwen anyways.Β
Lila smiled, "You know what? It's really not worth fighting over a boy. You and I could be friends."
"You and I will only be friends the day you stop lying, Lila!" Marinette narrowed her eyes at her.Β
Lila's eyes widened.Β
"I can't prove it, but I know for a fact that you don't have tinnitus, that your wrist is fine, that you don't know Prince Ali because you've never even stepped foot in Achu, and despite what you got Alya to write on her Ladyblog, Ladybug has never saved your life!"
Lila's face dropped. She sighed, leaning on the sink and turned to the girl, and shrugged. "I don't care. I only tell people what they want to hear."
"It's called lying," Marinette hissed. "Do you lie to Gwen too, your 'best friend'?"
Lila's eyes sharpened, next thing she knew, Marinette was against the wall, face forward. "You make assumptions that are none of your concerns," Lila dangerously whispered.Β
"Gwen is upset about something and she won't tell me in worry for you. Her bruises, she's upset and caused her harm...Tell me, Marinette."
Marinette struggled in her grasp but it was no use.Β
"I don't like when the only person who understands me gets hurt. If I find out that you hurt her in any way...well, we don't want to go that far. So I'll give you one last chance. You are either with me or against me." Lila moved away from the girl as Marinette turned around to face her completely.Β
"I'll give you 'till the end of class today," Lila narrowed her eyes at her before walking out of the restroom.Β
πΈπ·πΈ
Lila sighed and walked toward the cafeteria when she caught something in her hand. She flinched as she felt the strength put behind it but frowned.Β
A napkin?
Lila looked up to see Gwen leaning on the lockers, bundling a napkin. "Gwen?"
"What was that?"
Lila stiffened as she saw Gwen's blues staring right at her. She didn't know what it was but she felt paralyzed as Gwen was walking toward her and grabbed the napkin from her hand before looking down at her.Β
"Lila."
Lila's eyes widened.Β
"You're my friend and I will always support you when it comes to you lying to everyone. But to manipulate someone who is a close friend of mine is not happening. Not on my watch. So go in there, and apologize," Gwen narrowed her eyes at her.
"But she hurt you!" Lila glared at her. "You're upset."
"What happens between me and her is none of your concern at the moment," Gwen interrupted. "I appreciate that you worry for me but I can handle things alone. Yes, Marinette and I are in a situation but it's between us. When it's over, I'll talk to you about it."
Lila gritted her teeth. Who's lying now?! Lila glared at Gwen in frustration and walked out of the locker room.Β
Lila has been trying. Really trying to help Gwen when she needs it. But Gwen has been making it difficult to understand and help and it was all Marinette's fault.Β
In the locker room, Gwen sighed and sat on the benches, looking at her hands. Maybe she should have told Lila what happened. But it was still wrong for the girl to hurt Marinette.Β
Gwen stopped as Adrien entered the locker room and smiled at her. Gwen waved at him slightly and looked down at her hands.Β
Adrien frowned and crouched in front of her. "Is something wrong? Do your hands hurt?"
Gwen's lip quirked up, shaking her head. "I'm fine. Exhausted."
Adrien's eyes softened. "You've been feeling down lately. Did your conversation with Marinette go well?"
"I'm not sure," Gwen murmured. "We didn't talk much after."
Adrien nodded, "I know things will go well." He gently grabbed her hands and lightly brushed over them making her flush lightly.Β
The universe just likes to mess with her stupid heart, huh? *cough* author *cough*.
Her senses flared and stood up, facing the door. Adrien stood up too and looked in the direction she was looking at but frowned as nothing was there.Β
"Is something wrong?"
Gwen shook her head, "Nothing. Do you want to head back to class?"
"Sure, let me just go to the restroom real quick," he smiled and ran off.Β
Gwen turned to the door and opened it but stopped as Lila entered again and pushed her back gently.Β
"Hey, you're right. I'm sorry," she frowned worriedly and grabbed Gwen's hands.Β
Gwen's senses flared, making her eyes widen but wasn't able to move as Lila leaned and kissed her on the cheek. The next thing she knew, she fell back unconscious.
Lila-Gwen worriedly looked down at the girl before picking her up with struggle with the muscle she had. "Sorry, Gwen. I'm just going to ask Marinette some questions."
Just as she pushed Gwen into the locker she stiffened. She frowned as she felt dizzy for a moment and leaned on the lockers.Β
"I feel weird," Lila-Gwen grumbled and stood up again to leave but yelped as she fell back. She frowned as her hand was stuck on the locker.Β
"What the?! Did someone put glue on this thing?!" Lila-Gwen pulled and screamed as she pulled it with no strength but caused the locker to break and fling back.Β
"What's going on?" Chameleon looked around and she felt dizzy every second. Not only that, she was burning quickly.Β
Chameleon heaved and dropped to the ground, holding her chest. "What's going on?!" She whimpered as the burning was crawling around her. She gasped as she felt smoke coming out of her lips and coughed to get it out but it was difficult.Β
"I can't breathe!" Chameleon croaked as her eyes teared up from the pain and bolted to the nearest water fountain and chugged the water.Β
She whimpered as her hands got stuck in the water fountain. Her throat was burning up quickly.Β
She screamed as she dropped to the ground, gasping for air.Β
πΈπ·πΈ
Adrien was washing his hands when he heard struggling breathing on the other side. He furrowed his brows and slowly walked out of the restroom. He paled instantly as he saw Gwen on the ground hyperventilating.Β
What's worse, the lights were shining again and brighter on her skin.Β
"Gwen!" he rushed and dropped in front of her. He winced at the heat but cupped her face.Β
He shook his head in disbelief as the girl's eyes rolled to the back of her head. "Gwen! Listen to me! Don't give in!"
Gwen reached for him and grasped his collar. Adrien was quick to hold her and looked around to find a way to alleviate the flashing colorful lights.Β
He was suddenly pulled towards her. His eyes bulged widely as Gwen kissed him on the lips. His hands were on either side of her, paralyzed.Β
He frowned as for some reason it didn't feel right. He was correct as he fell unconscious.Β
Lila-Gwen changed to Lila-Adrien.Β Lila-Adrien heaved as she pushed Adrien away from her and crouched on fours to the ground. She coughed and coughed, trembling like a leaf.Β
Her eyes teared up at the lack of air and shakily stood up, wobbling herself to the water fountain again. She stumbled on her feet, causing her to fall and crash onto the fountain but she didn't care, she drank the water thirstily.Β
She tapped the fountain repeatedly, seeing her hands not stuck to it, and sighed.Β
"What the hell was that?" she croaked and turned to Gwen's locker.Β
She coughed and grabbed her abdomen in pain as she walked out. It won't take much for Gwen to wake up but she has to leave now.Β
πΈπ·πΈ
Gwen groggily woke up, finding herself in the darkness. She frowned as she can feel something hitting her back and felt pages. She tapped around, deadpanning to see she was in her locker.Β
She pushed it but it was locked.Β
"You got to be shitting me," Gwen sighed irritably and pushed a little harder, causing it to break with not much effort.Β
Walking out, she looked around and walked out of the lockeroom. Only to find the students in distress. Running over to Nino who seemed to be upset the most, she spoke. "What's going on?"
"Adrien! He stole my hat and broke our friendship, insulting Alya too," Nino frowned.Β
Gwen blinked. "Eh? He what?"
"He then jumped out of the school literally to the Eiffel Tower," Alya further explained, sitting next to Nino.Β
Gwen thought back to the locker room. Lila...Her eyes widened and ran down the stairs and out of the school.Β
"Shit! Lila!" Gwen ran into an alleyway and punched her fists, jumping and swinging to the Eiffel Tower.Β
πΈπ·πΈ
Plagg worriedly flew around Adrien as he slept. He cursed at the akumatized victim for playing with Adrien's feelings and for using Gwenchy as a decoy.Β
"If this is an enchanted sleep, what can possibly wake him up?" Plagg turned to him, seeing him snoring. "Oh no, not an enchanted kiss! Please!" He looked back to Adrien's lips, seeing Adrien still snoring, and groaned. "Nobody will ever know." He hesitantly flew over and leaned to Adrien's lips when Adrien woke up.Β
He looked around confused, seeing his Kwami weirdly flying towards him. "Plagg, what happened? And what are you doing?"
Plagg stopped and put distance between them, internally sighing in relief. "Oh, me? Nothing I, uh...GwenchyβI mean Lila put you to sleep with an evil kiss. You should be more careful picking your friends. Don't trust Gwenchy's lips again."
Adrien frowned but gasped as he realized that Lila turned into Gwen and couldn't handle the power inside her. "Lila must've been re-akumatized. Quick, Plagg! Claws out!"
πΈπ·πΈ
Ladybug jumped around the city, her eyes peeled for the Chameleon. Whoever it is, they're tricky. They can be anyone! Jumping from building to building, she wandered herself to the TrocadΓ©ro.Β
She can hear a mother calling out for her son but kept going with the mission at the moment.Β
Ladybug jumped to a post when a little boy called out to her.Β
"Ladybug, I saw the supervillain running away," the boy pointed to the merry-go-round.Β
Ladybug glanced at the merry-go-round and saw it vacant. It can be a good place to hide. She nodded, "Thanks! Don't stay here, okay? It's dangerous." She jumped and looked around the merry-go-round, cautious in her step.Β
"Come out of there, Chameleon!" Ladybug rolled her yo-yo in alarm but failed to realize the boy was sneaking up behind her.Β
"My Quentin!" the mother from before cried out in relief, getting their attention. "You found him, Ladybug!"
"Found him?" Ladybug frowned and turned to see Chameleon launching herself towards her. Her eyes widened as the villain came near.Β
"Ladybug! Watch out!" Chat jumped and tackled Ladybug to the ground while Ghost-Spider jumped in and web-cocooned the little boy.Β
"Hey!β" Ghost instantly shut them up by webbing their mouth. The mother gasped and ran for the hero, quickly going for the child but Ghost gently pushed her back.Β
"Ladybug, you all right?" she turned to Ladybug.Β
Ladybug nodded, "Thanks, guys."
Ghost nodded, "I saw little Quentin in one of the rides, ma'am. This is a supervillain."
The mother's eyes widened and looked at the irritated boy in front of her. She really looked like her son but ran back to the merry-go-round and held her boy to her.Β
Ghost crouched to Chameleon and pulled out something from behind her back. She had to make a plan to come here. She has been watching a while and didn't miss the way Chameleon changed form by kissing someone.Β
So, she had to have an object she can't turn back to but easy to identify the akumatized object.Β
So she grabbed an oyster. She crouched in front of Chameleon and ribbed the web from their mouth. The boy screamed in pain and glared at her.Β
"How dare youβ" His eyes widened as his lips were puckered enough for him to kiss the oyster Ghost shoved.Β
Ladybug's and Chat's eyes widened as the boy turned to the oyster. Ghost smirked behind her mask and handed the oyster to Ladybug.Β
Ladybug grabbed it and smiled at Ghost. "Your intelligence never ceases to amaze me, Ghost. Now, let's see what you really look like Chameleon."
"You'll see, it's an old acquaintance," Chat nodded.
Ladybug handed the oyster to Chat. He grinned as he walks over to Ghost and taps on her bracer. Ghost's eyes visibly widened as a large knife came out. "Woah! What are you doing?!"
Ghost moved away but Chat grabbed her wrist and used her knife to open the oyster. Seeing the pearl inside, Chat crushed it in his hand.Β
The akuma flew out high enough for Ladybug to catch and purify. She grinned at her team, "You know, this is the second time I didn't use the Lucky Charm."
The oyster brightened as it changed its final form.Β
Chameleon turned back to Lila.Β
Ladybug's eyes widened in disbelief. "Lila?!"
"Ladybug?!" Lila flinched back.Β
Ladybug chuckled, "At least now you can say I saved your life for real. Truce?" She gave a hand out to the girl and Lila looked at it hesitantly.Β
She gritted her teeth, remembering Lila embarrassing Gwen, and shook her hand. "Thanks, Ladybug."
"Glad to see you're safe. Hey, some advice. You don't have to lie and pretend to be something you're not. People will like you for being yourself," Ladybug smiled.Β
"Thanks," Lila smiled again while Ladybug left with Chatnoir.Β
"I'll take you back to school," Ghost gave her a hand.Β
Lila accepted her hand while Ghost jumped out of the Eiffel Tower. "Question, do you feel any pain right now?"
"What do you mean?" Lila clung to her.Β
"What do you remember from being akumatized?" Ghost asked as she passed the TrocadΓ©ro.Β
Lila shook her head, "I don't remember anything, why?"
"...Just curious."
πΈπ·πΈ
Getting back to school, Gwen tacked Lila in a hug and apologized for upsetting her but Lila apologized too and clung to her. Walking back to class, Lila groaned as she realized she'll be sitting next to Adrien...again.Β
"He's not that bad once you get to know him," Gwen teased.Β
"Sucks for me," she sat on the chair while Gwen walked up the stairs and to her seat.Β
Gwen rubbed her eyes, worried about what happened. Lila said she doesn't remember just like any other akumatized victims, but she couldn't help but be worried for her.Β
Gwen's senses flared as she saw Marinette sitting next to her. Both girls sat in silence, not knowing what to say.Β
Gwen sighed and turned to her. "Marinette."
Marinette glanced at her and turned to her in question. "Yes?"
"You're one of my good friends and it hurts to see you hurt because of me. I understand how you feel about your position. I...was kind of in the same situation a long time ago."
Marinette's eyes widened, "What?"
"There was someone who liked a boy I liked and I considered her my friend," Gwen nervously chuckled.Β
"Really?" Marinette's eyes softened.Β
"Oh, but I kicked her ass. Wait, you don't have to resolve in violence if you want but if there's a way to make it up to you, my face is right here," Gwen tapped her cheek.Β
Marinette's eyes softened, "I don't know what to do in this situation, honestly. I wanted to but it felt wrong because it wasn't your fault for having feelings for Adrien." she chuckled and glanced to the front, seeing the boy bickering with Lila.Β
"I still want to be your friend, Gwen," Marinette smiled at her honestly. "I don't want a boy to break our bond. How about a friendly rival instead?"
Gwen smirked, wrapping an arm around the girl and tugging her close. "I can live with that. I won't give up though."
"I know, I won't either," Marinette smirked back and leaned on her.Β
Their small bickering got the teacher's attention and made them switch seats. In the end, everybody just went to their previous seats and Lila ended up sitting by herself as Gwen sat next to Nathaniel.Β
"You still betrayed me, you're not my friend," Gwen turned away from Nathaniel.
"Stop being a kid and pay attention."
"Don't tell me what to do."
