08 - Crime Scene Investigation
She watches Stiles walk into the Sheriff's station and approach a man who was talking to another. She bites her lip, hoping that the plan works and they get a look at the body.
Stiles taps the sides of his thighs out of frustration. He walks over to Sheriff Stilinski slowly, mentally preparing himself to answer any questions to be thrown at him.
"H-Hey dad!" He waves his hand for a moment and his father turns around with confusion.
"Hey Stiles? What are you doing here?" Sheriff Stilinski questions with suspicion written all over his face.
"N-Nothing... I just came to see my dad at his workplace," Stiles says, trying to sound completely normal but failing miserably.
Sheriff Stilinski crosses his arms. "What do you really want son?" He questions with squinted eyes.
Stiles sighs after a moment of staring at his dad, "I need to look at the body-"
"Sorry you know I can't do that."
"Dad please, just give me a written note from the Bacon Hills sheriff department giving me permission to see the victim's body at the hospital's morgue and I should be good to go!" Stiles follows his dad around as he looks through papers and walks around the office.
"Stiles..." The Sheriff places his fingers on the bridge of his nose, "If you came here asking for something else I would have agreed happily. But this is just..."
"Dad come on, there's a case in town and the body's definitely not your regular deal. It was mauled, and... A friend of mine says they can help," Stiles runs a hand through his hair and looks to the floor.
The Sheriff raises an eyebrow and smirks. "Is your friend part of the female species?" He questions teasingly.
"Yes," Stiles mumbles, "But it's not because of that, entirely. Please dad, she's not..." He steps closer to his father and whispers, "She's not normal, she's a skin-shifter."
He raises his eyebrows in surprise then sighs, thinking that the amount of supernatural beings don't stop appearing at Beacon Hills, leading Stiles to put everything on his shoulders and clean up whatever mess they make.
The Sheriff looks at his son, who is extremely eager to gain his father's permission, with a sad expression. "Fine but you found a fill-up form on my desk, stole it and forged my handwriting like you conveniently are capable off. Then you fooled Mrs. McCall and saw the body with your friend, who is equally as devious as you," He explains in a rush, leaving Stiles with no words.
"Now I'm going for a coffee break, in the other room and won't be back for another five minutes!" Sheriff Stilinski says aloud, while signing the sheet and folding it. He gives it to his son discreetly then walks off without saying another word.
Stiles starts to back away slowly but then jogs out of the office, which slowly turns to a run to his car. He starts Roscoe up and steps on the gas, leading to Beacon Hills Memorial Hospital.
Looking at his behaviour, Joscelyn figures out that he got the permission to see the body. She still is curious as to what a fascinated individual Stiles is.

CLANG!
"Have fun guys," Mrs. McCall says, "Don't spend too long in here. It's... eerie." The two investigating teenagers nod their heads as they wear latex gloves for protection.
"Okay Josie, you better be right about this otherwise I'm going to be grossed out for no-"
He stops talking after Joscelyn unzips the bag, staring at the dead body laying in front of him with a cold stare and silence.
Joscelyn looks up to him, "Hey Stiles, you okay?"
"Y-Yeah... It's like any other day right?" He shrugs his shoulders while she nods with confusion.
"Alright let's finish this quickly now," She rubs her hands together then scans the corpse for any signs of violence and causes of death, and anything that strikes out as peculiar.
Immediately Joscelyn realises something, that these abrasions and deductions in the autopsy report are familiar to her. She knows them too well, but does not want to accept that likely possibility.
She quickly confirms the evidence with her previous knowledge then reads out an extract from the report:
'Evidence of trauma made premortem along with different indications of sources. Victim showed signs of panic and paranoia, with reported hallucinations of dead family members and violent outbreaks, as reported by bystanders of the neighbourhood and friends. Indications on the body show a minor insertion of a needle-like object into the neck, carrying some sort of toxin that caused the seizure to occur. Moreover, signs of a dehydrated internal organ system are a likely cause of the shifted state of mind, ultimately leading to weakness.'
She looks up for a brief moment with horror then reads the next line:
'Reported previous cases have been linked to similar or exactly alike settings with unspotable differences.'
Joscelyn slams the file shut and flings it to the table before taking off her gloves with anxiety. She rushes out of the morgue and holds her head in her hands, feeling the weight of the world on her shoulders.
Why them? Why has he brought them here? Wasn't I enough for this? I'm more capable than he believes, Joscelyn thinks.
Stiles follows her out after closing up the body, tilting his head with concern. "Josie what's wrong?" He asks and she turns back to him with fear in her eyes and panic in her voice.
"I-I've seen this before. I know what's done this S-Stiles," She replies quietly, "We have to go to your place, I need to tell you everyth-"
Josie, what are you up to?
She gulps, a feeling of dread and coldness floods her entire figure as the voice echoes in her head. She recognises it, that's the part she despises the most.
But what she hates even more that she knows that he's close... that he isn't that thrilled with how she's working.
