33 - 30/10/1969, THU

Lillian feels herself being pulled back to reality from the nightmare she's 'fortunate' enough to experience at every moment of her day.

Her vision is filled with a spectrum of strife, chaos, pain, relief, misery, success, excitement, disappointment, depression and death... The negatives way out the positives and she wishes that it were otherwise.

She gasps loudly, her eyes darting open as the coffin's white glow started to rise up. Lillian tugged on the restraints around her hands and legs, kicking the sides of the coffin and the lid in attempts to break free from entrapment.

"LET ME OUT!" She screamed, her voice firing back into her ears, "I can't... I-I-"

She heaves for a breath of air, she struggled to remain conscious due to the lack of oxygen. The banging against the walls of the coffin starts to diminish as her energy reduces to a minimum.

Lillian's eyes start to droop to a close. Calling the object she lays in a 'coffin' added to her distress. It was more of a compartment...

And one would assume that she would get used to its humming and beeping after having activated within it countless times but it always succeeds in intimidating her.

With a loud HISS! the compartment's top slowly raises itself by its hinges on the side to an open... much like a coffin.

Lillian lays completely still for a moment as it opens then leaps out of it, the exhilaration of finally concluding today's session flooding within her body and mind.

She hastens towards a box with her jacket and shoes, stumbling a couple of times on the way. She grabs the objects quickly and puts them on.

CLANG! THUD!

Lillian ignores the loudness of the door behind her, too focused on getting out of this eerie white room where this simulation pod of a coffin sits in the middle.

Ever since Lillian had been abducted from the Summit Meeting events, she was brought to an unknown facility and had grown acquainted with the man who conned her: Ennis Clark. He lured her in with that classic innocent expression then placed her in this place of 'whiteness' and cleanliness' to be prodded and tested on every single day for reasons that are still ambiguous to her.

After passing the preliminary tests and trials, she was assigned the 'simulation pod', a machine that can aid with channelling her powers of foresight. As if watching a film, she can see everything vividly. Events of her own future, of people close to her, of complete strangers; all things are visible to her... and Ennis and his team of minions have everything recorded.

In a nutshell, it is a Cerebro for her mind instead of the Professor's-

Lillian stares at her the ground blankly after slipping her second shoe onto her foot. The thought of the Professor reminds her of something that hasn't really occurred to her during these past few months: Where is Charles?

Lillian furrows her eyebrows then shrugs off the thought and turns around, marching towards the main door-

THUMP!

She hits a barrier, the impact disorients her for a moment before realising that she bumped into Ennis.

"Woah there," Ennis places his hands out in front of him, "Slow down Lily."

Lillian glares at him at his use of that nickname. Coming out of his mouth made her want to slap him.

Ennis grabs her hands tightly as Lillian tries to push herself away from him. He forces a smile on his lips and stares at her, "Don't make this... hard on me L-Lily!"

"Let me go ENNIS," She spits in his face and he extracts a syringe from his coat pocket and removes the cap, sticking the needle in-

PRICK!

Lillian flinches for a moment at the brief pain in her left thigh then slowly starts to feel all her nerves drown away. Her shoulders slump as the sedative kicks in, causing her to almost fall onto Ennis.

It is the first time he has sedated her. He is in no good mood today and she was getting on his nerves.

Ennis holds onto her upper body, wrapping an arm around her back and walking her to a chair at the medical check-up corner in the room.

"W-Wow Ennis... Look!" Lillian raises a finger and points towards the ceiling in delusional awe. Ennis wraps the blood pressure band around her upper arm and presses a button on the digital controller, which causes the band to expand slowly.

"What are you seeing Lily?" He looks over his shoulder, seeing nothing out of the ordinary and playing along with the innocent that he is known for.

"It is so p-p-pretty... The outs-side..." Her head tilts to the right a little, still staring at the same spot.

Ennis picks up a few electrodes and places one on the centre of her upper chest and two on the sides of her forehead.

"You know Lillian, there are people in this building who care about you. Do you remember who Hank is?" Ennis asks and Lillian turns to look at him, with an expression that makes it seem as if she is drunk, "He's in his room, fighting every day just to save you... Or at least he thinks he is. Do you remember Charles?"

"Ch-Charles..." Lillian displays a hint of realisation.

"Um, Mr Clark, I don't think-" A man expresses, his voice is heard through the speakers in the room.

Ennis looks back to the control room with a glare, "Let me handle this Lebowski. Take a coffee break."

He waits quietly for a moment then continues his conversation with Lillian. He goes on to mention a small microchip that is installed in the mutants of this facility who are being examined and studied. This microchip allows Ennis and his colleagues of researchers and scientists to control the mutants and monitor every single bodily function of theirs.

He touches her neck near the back of her jaw lightly, "That's where it is, a small device that can do so much."

Ennis tells her that Charles asks about her every day and that Charles is as resistant as one can get. Even though she can barely process the information he's saying, Lillian feels a wave of sadness wash over herself at the thought of Charles.

"You know... you have big things in store for your future. You can help society, the whole of humanity," Ennis comments, trailing his fingers along her arm with a hint of sadness on his face, "I hate to see you expended on such an opportunity. You're... beautiful."

He grips her hand tightly after bringing another chair closer to her and placing it opposite to her seat. "Listen to me Lillian, very carefully," Ennis says and grips her shoulder with his other hand and shakes her a little, to bring some sense back into her.

He sighs then takes a deep breath before saying, "Remember every word I say to you, Lillian. Whatever I did to you... all this, it was for your own good and it is because I know that you have always been meant for greater things."

"Ennis stop thisss," Lillian complains like a child and pushes him away from her, feeling extremely fatigued suddenly.

"Lillian listen!" He yells then holds his forehead after she looks back at him with alarm, "Whatever happens to me... Just remember that I did care for you. I'm not heartless."

Lillian clears her throat then leans close to him, squinting her eyes glaring at him. "Ennis... Y-You're a psychopath," She whispers then sits back in her seat and snatches her hand from his hold.

Ennis sits completely still for a few moments, watching Lillian intently, then standing up and placing the chair neatly up against the wall next to her. He straightens his coat then places his hands together. Ennis takes a deep breath then shakes his head slightly, "Fine then, so be it-"

THUD!

BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP...

An alarm starts blaring after a loud noise echoed within the room and the entire building as if its power had tripped and shut off suddenly.

Ennis looks around and to the control room window, noticing people on the other side tapping on the window to alert him, as well as others rushing around to fix some sort of problem. A commotion breaks out.

Ennis glances back at Lillian one last time before exiting the simulation room and stepping into the control room. He slams the door behind him then yells out, inquiring about what the problem might be with the facility's system.

"After we elevated him from the TCH phase 2 procedure, we were measuring his vitals and examining his microchip when all of a sudden the machines went berserk! We had no clue what to do, we have no idea what happened," A man named Max explains and Ennis rolls his eyes with frustration.

"He must have bypassed the device's control. He's probably communicating with the outside world!" Ennis panics and exits the control room, running down the corridor towards where Charles would be at this moment, "Keep an eye on 'Omen', make sure she doesn't hear or do anything!"

Lillian remains seated on the chair that Ennis had left her at, unable to fathom the situation she is in right now as the alarm keeps blaring right above her head. She moves her head around, holding her temples as a throbbing headache starts to grow inside, and her blurry vision is not aiding to the discomfort.

She squints her eyes to get a better focus on things. She grabs the edge of the table and pushes herself up from her seat, feeling a sudden queasiness when she does-

H-H-H-Hank! Listen t-t-to me... Please!

Lillian stops moving, staring at the floor as a voice echoes in her head, sending a chill down her spine. She recognises it, the voice is from Charles but it seems to make her feel more unsettled.

HANK they are c-c-coming for me n-now... G-G-Get out and s-s-s-save us!

"CHARLES," Lillian mumbles to herself, snapping her back to reality from the sedation. She rubs her eyes then clenches her fists, standing up straight and marching towards the door of the simulation room.

As she walks, she feels the after-effects of the sedative kick in, making her lethargic all of a sudden. She slumps to the side, almost colliding into the wall to her right as she approaches the door.

Lillian wraps her hand around the handle and pushes it down to open it but it doesn't budge. She tries it a few more times out of rage then starts banging on the door with her fists.

"Let me out! COME ON!" She shouts after placing her lips close to the crack in the door, "LET ME OUT!"

She backs away, holding her head forcefully and groaning in pain as the headache intensifies. Lillian feels her neck start to heat up and tingle too, at the spot where Ennis had pointed and where the microchip is installed.

"Ch-Charles... help m-m-me," She whispers to herself before-

THUMP!

Lillian falls onto the floor, unconscious, with her eyes open and staring endlessly at the line of white tiles on the floor... with the alarm still screaming out and filling in the silence.
