School had started once again on the 5th of January, with students flooding back to the school a day before to prepare for another semester of learning. Lillian had mixed feelings about it. She just started to have the opportunity of loving someone, only to have the whole place be populated with so many other people a few days later. She wanted, and still wants, time alone with Charles mainly because she still doesn't know a heavy load about him.

Lillian could still spend close time with him whenever he's free but neither of them want others to see them excessively together. For all the others at the school, Lillian is still a student and the whole 'professor being attracted to his student' deal could go horribly wrong in the minds of other people. He's not ashamed of being with her, she has never only been a student to him. Lillian has always been a friend in his eyes, mainly because she's almost his age.

"Now if you all would recap from last class, we talked about the significance of this theory in modern day," Professor Xavier reminds, "Could anyone give me one of those reasons?"

The silence of the entire classroom started to intimidate every one within it. Students know the answer, no doubt about it, but they are reluctant to give the answer which surprised Lillian since everybody looks for ways to impress Professor Xavier.

That's a first-

"Ms. Goodheart, why don't you give us the answer?" Charles says and tried to hide the smile creeping on his lips.

She clears her throat and smiles forcefully, knowing that Charles must have had a hand in everyone else not answering. "W-Well one reason is that our technology is advancing at uh, fast rate and this um... helps the theory to advance too," She answers flatly and he smiles widely.

"Good work Lily-lian," Charles almost slips with calling her by the nickname he uses, "Now who's going to give me the next point?"

*****

He continues to pick on her for the remainder of the class time, which obviously puts her on edge. She keeps reminding herself that he's not being rude, it's an odd way to show his affection for her without other people suspecting... but they already probably have an idea about something being up between the two of them.

Lillian decided to play a game when he asked everyone to read silently and take notes. She is anyways finding the class rather dry for her taste.

"By the way I'm not going to call you Chuck from your demands," She says quietly in her mind.

Nothing. He does not react in any way, which disappoints Lillian. She then recalls that Charles had promised that he wouldn't read her mind again...

She picks up her own and starts doodling somethinf on her paper so she looks busy. Thinking about what to say, she smiles.

"I think I'll call you Charlie, Chuck reminds me of a chubby kid or an old man," She says a little louder than before.

Still not a single movement from the Professor.

Lillian sighs and looks out of the window, wondering if the concept of him hearing her without him looking into his mind was even possible.

"The trees look pretty today, the birds seem to like the school," She thinks to herself, "Hank does look like a secret tree hugger-"

A chuckle, she hears someone laugh quietly. Her eyes start to dart around to see if it was her wishful thinking taking advantage of her or not.

Then she catches him staring at her and quickly looking at his book once again when she spots him. A fire of excitement starts inside her, she licks her lips and smiles a bit.

"Charles you're an asshole for picking on me today in class," She complains then starts playing with her pen, "You'll have to make it up to me."

Lillian hears him clear his throat. His eyes are still on the book yet she knows that his attention was actually on her.

"What would Charles do? Would he take me outside? Probably," She starts, "But he wouldn't make me happy like that. He'll have to try... harder."

THUMP!

Charles slams his book shut, watching Lillian while everyone else are indulged in taking notes. He sucks in a sharp breath and squints his eyes at her.

Lillian mouths the word, "Bedroom." Then licks her her lips slowly, a grin forming on her face.

"What's wrong Charlie? Is that too much to ask for-"

"Lillian stop it!"

She freezes suddenly, a loud and raspy voice echoing in her head. She finally got Charles' attention, making her smirk.

"Charles would like going out for drinks, he's such a softie," Lillian continues, "But those blue eyes piercing through my soul just make me want more-"

"LILLIAN stop talking like that, it's not-"

"You didn't seem to care about it after the bar."

"I was drunk, I didn't-"

"Then I want drunk Charles, he makes me feel numb inside-"

"That's enough!" The Professor shouts out loud, looking at Lillian with a cold stare for a moment then shifting his gaze to everyone else, "E-Enough reading, your homework is researching about next class' topic: The industrial revolution and the changes it brought to our society. Class dismissed!"

Lillian swallows hard, she feels like she's going to be in some deep trouble. Charles raises his hand out and says, "Class one moment!" Lillian looks over to him with confusion.

"Now since Ms. Goodheart is new in this school and has had some trouble with her powers, I've heard students here calling her names like 'Phantom', which I feel isn't accurate," Charles explains and Lillian looks at him with disbelief, "So... in order for you to gain five extra marks on the next test, think of an accurate alias thag would suit her."

All the students look at each other with surprise at such an easy way to score more marks easily. They start to march put of the room while Lillian stands up after grabbing her bag and looks at him with anger starting to pry at her complacent heart.

She walks up to the Professor's desk and eyes him blankly. "Seriously?" She states and he shrugs his shoulders.

"You look really cute in that sweater," He comments, completely ignoring the look of shock on Lillian's face.

"No, Charles, why did you ask them to find a 'name' for me?!"

"I told you to stop-"

"And I told you to notice me, not that I'm that kind of girl but yeah. You say you love me then what, back to normal?."

Charles sighs and rubs his forehead. "Someone else could have heard you Lily," He mumbles and she puts her hands on her hips.

"Are you kidding me? Who else has mind powers like yours? NO ONE HERE," She responds with agitation then shakes her head, "You know what, I'm sorry. I'll be in my room if you need me, not that you would but-"

"Look I didn't want, you know... Y-You were saying some things and I wasn't, I just didn't-"

"Want to get aroused?" Lillian stretches out the 'r' and winks at him.

"Y-Yeah..." He runs a hand through his hair then clears his throat, "I could have said or done something and you know what that would lead to."

Lillian nods her head then smiles at him after giving him a small wave of goodbye. When she approaches the door, Charles calls out her name, making her stop and turn around.

"I love you Lillian," He says and she gasps in an overly-dramatic way, covering her mouth.

"Someone could hear Charles!"

"I don't care," He moves his chair towards her and looks at her sadly, "I need to know that you know that you mean everything to me."

She chuckles and raises an eyebrow, "Wow, now that's a tongue-twister." Lillian steps towards him and reaches out to take his hand.

"Of course I know that Charlie. I was just joking with you that time and I know you were teaching and it was wrong of me," She says apologetically and he squeezes her hand.

"I will make sure I give you time, m-maybe we could watch a movie together?" He suggests, "I've heard there's this old horror one called Nosferatu."

She giggles, "You like horror?"

"N-No but I know that you do, and I'll watch whatever you like."

Lillian smiles at him softly and blows him a flying kiss, as cheesy as it could get. She would kiss him on the cheek but that would be too explicit for the middle of a school day, even though the door us closed and there's no one outside in the front yard.

"I'll see you later... Professor Xavier," She says then walks out of the classroom towards her room to see if she has any other sweaters that Charles would find cute.
