He had just yelled at her, making her conscious on the outside but feeling the blood boil inside her with anger. She backs away from him then clenches her fists.

"Lily-"

"Don't 'Lily' me, CHARLES!" She exclaims, "I'm trying to work this out and y-you... You're stopping me? WHY?!"

"I told you already Lillian, I'm NOT repeating myself!" He shouts at her and reaches for the wheelchair's steering joystick to move away from her, down the hallway. But Lillian grabs the arm rests and bends down, stopping him from fleeing.

"Isn't it why you brought me here, so that I can do something with my powers?!" She questions, "Or was it so you could fill up a vacant student seat in classrooms, Charles?"

"I'm do what I do to protect you-"

"PROTECT ME?! What-"

"You're no good if you're dead Lillian! If you exert yourself you're going to kill yourself, and it would be on me!" He responds with a thundering voice, "It would be my fault because being your teacher, and your friend, I didn't... I didn't stop you."

The Professor attempts to move away from her but Lillian's hold on the wheelchair is strong. She crouches down on her knees in a frog-like position and looks deeply into the Professor's eyes.

"Don't you have trust in me... have confidence in me?" She asks sadly, "I-I won't harm myself Charles. I feel pain most of the time when I'm using my powers but if I didn't feel like I was progressing, I wouldn't continue."

He sighs and looks to the floor, feeling reluctant about letting her step into a dangerous zone. "Please Charles, give me a chance," She pleads with a small smile on her lips. He places his hand on top of hers and squeezes it slightly, giving her a sad smile.

Lillian lets go of his chair and he uses his joystick to steer away from her. She stands there alone, watching him disappear into a room with his head hung low.

"Here, I got you some leftover avocado smoothie," Hank informs and places a tall transparent glass filled with a thick green drink. Lillian smiles and thanks him, then takes a sip of the refreshment.

"So... not all good huh?" He reiterates and she frowns while shaking her head. "I'm sorry Hank, it is what I see. I can't influence your future with my powers," She explains and he smiles softly.

"Hey it's alright, at least I'm a good person and that I make an effort to do the right thing, yeah," He responds and the two remain in a lengthened and uncomfortable silence.

"Hank I just-"

KNOCK! KNOCK!

The two members sitting in the lounge turn to look at the door, finding the Professor waiting by it. "Hi Professor, come on in," Hank says and gets up from his seat.

"How is it going Lillian?" He asks and she nods her head.

"Good."

"Lillian told me about some stuff, she didn't find it difficult to use her powers," Hank explains and the Professor smiles softly.

"That's great Lillian."

Hank heads for the door and turns back to ask if the Professor would like anything to drink. He shakes his head and thanks Hank for his generosity.

Once Hank is out of the room, Charles moves closer to Lillian and looks at her with an expression of curiosity.

"I see you've progressed," He comments and she raises her eyebrows.

"Yeah Charles, I looked at Hank with no difficulty and I could control it well," She responds and he smiles.

"I'm happy Lily, I'm glad that you're feeling motivated," He tilts his head and furrows his eyebrows after a moment, noticing that she's preoccupied in some thought, "Do me."

"What?"

Charles moves closer to the couch she is sitting on and takes a deep breath, "Look into my future Lily."

"N-No I can't-"

"You can, I know you can," He comforts and takes her hand in his, "Relax your mind and try."

She nods her head slowly then licks her lips. "C-Can... Can I hold your hand?" She requests, "It helps to focus my power, I've... noticed."

Once Charles agrees, she slides her hands down both of his wrists and wraps her fingers around them. She concentrates her mind and finds an opening into his, and all of a sudden gets hit by waves of his power.

Charles takes a shot and shakes his head, making Lillian laugh. She shows him five fingers and raises an eyebrow. He kisses her in the cheek then orders another round.

Charles brings a cake out to the lounge, people surrounding him and cheering as a woman, Lillian, walks up to him with a wide smile on her face.

Charles, trapped inside a glass cell and strapped to a bed with drips and electrodes placed around his body. Sweat beading down his forehead and eyes wide open with fear.

Charles staring out of the window in the hallway, sulking as Lillian tries to comfort him. "For the fourth bloody time, I'm fine Lillian," He scolds and wheels away form her, down the empty hallways which are supposed to be filled with students.

Charles grabs her arms and pushes her out of his way harshly. She threatens to leave the house if he continues acting like this, drinking all the time and going into a depressed bubble. Lillian starts yelling at him and he almost throws a bottle of-

Lillian gasps for air and stares right into his eyes, terrified with her heart thumping rapidly. The Professor furrows his eyebrows in concern, "What's wrong?"

"N-Nothing I... It's nothing."

She grips onto his arms again and takes a deep breath, "I'm going to try again okay?"

"Yeah."

She shuts her eyes and concentrates once again. "Help me if something goes wrong," Lillian mumbles but before Charles could reply she's swallowed into his mind once more, this time being hit harder.

She sees him, weak and old but calm while laying on a bed, sleeping on his side. A figure appears in the room after walking through the open door. She cannot make out who it is. He seems... strong. She starts to here Charles speak, only picking up a few parts of his words, "This is the most perfect night I've had in a long time... I remember what happened in Westchester... It's not the first time I've hurt people." The figure puts a hand on Charles' shoulder, comforting him as it seems. "Logan..." Charles voice echoes and SCRUNCH!, three metal blades pierce through his che-

Lillian falls back, heart racing violently in her chest as she stares at Charles with horror. "Lily?" The Professor mumbles then furrows his eyebrows, "Hey Lillian, what's wrong?"

She gulps then glances to his chest, reaching out and touching it to make sure he's not injured. Charles clenched his jaw out of surprise, not expecting Lillian to do something like that all of a sudden.

"Y-You're okay?"

"Of course, why wouldn't I be?" He asks then takes her hands to comfort her, "Lillian what happened? What did you see?"

She sits up straight and steadies her breathing. "I saw you in the future, it was so vivid and clear," She explains, "Y-You were laying down on a bed and talking about here I think, and this man walks up to you and j-just..."

Lillian shuts her eyes and bites her lips, looking to the floor with dismay. Charles didn't push for her to continue, he deduced that from her expressions something bad happened to his future self.

"I saw other times, where you're happy, and we are happy, and some where y-you're... not but," She rubs her hands to clam her nerves, "But Charles h-he kills you."

"My fate does not concern me much Lily. All I want to know is that if you've got a hole of your powers or not?" The Professor questions and she nods her head slowly.

"Logan," She mutters.

"What?"

"That man... his name was Logan, Charles. The man who k-killed you-"

KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK!

"Professor there's someone at the door asking for you," Hank informs while standing by the open door. Charles nods his head and smiles at Lillian softly.

"I'll be back," He says and kisses the top of her hand before following Hank towards the building's main door.
