He sighs as she storms off with frustration farther along the concrete miniature wall going around the campus, crossing her arms and rubbing her forehead with her hand. He watches her with sadness, devastated at how hard she's trying with little success in sight.

They are standing at the back of the school, working on her powers but she is not having such a great day. It seems as though all the festivities and eggnog sort of drowned her sense of determination away, returning back to realising that her powers are nothing but punishment for something she has no idea of.

Lillian tries her level-best to concentrate and make Charles proud, and she has reached somewhere further with her powers. She has reached a sense of control over them and it makes her pleased.

Looking back at the Professor staring out into the field, she takes a deep breath then walks back to him to try again. "Okay just relax and think clearly," She whispers to herself, in attempt to boost her confidence.

"Are you sure you want to keep going?" Professor Xavier questions and she nods her head quickly.

"I've got nothing else to do, I can at least try to do something right for once with this 'gift'," She responds bitterly, making Charles frown for a brief moment.

Lillian shuts her eyes slowly after leaning on the small concrete wall and is about to cross her arms when she is hit with waves of insight, making her gasp.

"Lillian what's-"

She cries in agony, breathing heavily as images of herself trapped in a claustrophobic white testing room with heavy-duty medical equipment and electrodes attached to her body.

She almost collapses onto the ground but she balances herself by grabbing the wall behind her. Lillian's eyes shoot open, glaring through Charles like he is invisible.

"CHARLES I-"

Lillian stays still all of a sudden and heaves, rubbing her eyes then sitting on the ground and leaning her head back on the wall. The Professor wheels his chair closer to her and fidgets with his hands.

"Wh-What did you see Lily?" He asks with hesitance, making her look up to him with alarm. She starts to stutter, unable to form a proper reply.

"We should... that's enough for today Lillian. Let's go inside now," Charles instructs then puts out his hand for Lillian to help her pull herself up.

She shakes off the eerie feeling in her mind then walks beside the Professor. She tells herself that she will try again... even though Charles doesn't want her to.

11:08 PM

Lillian wraps a light brown cardigan around her upper body and wears her slippers before get out of bed. She had taken care that the entire school was silent, that everyone was asleep. Ten o'clock is the curfew, while an hour earlier during school days, especially if you are a junior. Regardless of the rules, people have become accustomed to it and they find it more rejuvenating for themselves. No one argues with Professor Xavier's rules.

She walks down the dimly lit hallway and takes a turn to the left after reaching the end, walking towards the Professor's room's door. She stops suddenly, staring at a tightly shut door and regretting her every choice to do this.

Lillian shrugs off the feeling of doubt in her mind before wrapping her palm around the door handle and pushing it open. She flinched when the CLICK! sound is louder than she would hope for.

She peeks into the room to confirm that he's still sleeping, finding Charles laying on his back with his head to the side facing away from the door. She smiles softly then gulps, stepping into the room slowly as the door creaked a bit.

Lillian shuts her eyes after she presses the door to a close, this time succeeding in keeping it quiet, and takes a step closer to Charles' bed. She crosses her arms and starts to focus her powers on drawing his future.

But the second-guessing thought process started to haunt her once more. She felt crazy for creeping into her Professor's room, even though he's more of a friend to her. It's odd and if anyone notices it would not only be embarrassing for her but for Charles as well.

She shakes her head then takes a deep breath, refocusing. She had sensed something earlier in the day, she is beyond curious to figure out what it is.

Lillian starts to feel some power flood inside her mind, a feeling of dread fills her mind. The last thing she would want is being unable to control the power and having a fit.

She takes another step closer, then one after that and as she grew nearer to him, images in her head started to clear up. Lillian starts to wince and grit her teeth when she starts to feel the pain and grief emitting from Charles' past, present and future.

He begins to grow agitated, turning to the side and causing a minor panic attack within Lillian. She opens her eyes and looks at him with fear of him waking up. She would have never come down here if she didn't feel the need to be in proximity of Charles, to enhance the power of her pre-cognition.

She takes in a deep bretah to calm herself then moves closer. Her control of power takes a horrible turn when she feels a sudden rush surge through her head, causing her to grab her head and press it till she feels the pain would stop. Her knees start to tremble, making her disbalance and collapse onto the floor, while leaning her body on the edge of the bed.

"CH-CH-CHARLES," She forces out as images flash before her shut eyes. She can see Charles in a chamber strapped to a testing chair with electrodes attached to his head and chest, and screaming out in agony as people in long white coats and shadowy faces sent shocks through his body.

"Ch-Charles..." Her head falls to the side as she's close to fainting. Lillian hears the covers on the bed rustle, a figure sitting up and looking over to the floor.

"OH MY LORD LILLIAN?!" The Professor exclaims hoarsely then pushes his body over to the side. She looks up to him with tears in her eyes, "H-Help me p-please..."

He reaches for her arms, mustering all the strength in his upper-body to lift her up onto the bed best to him. He looks at her deeply then uses his powers to figure out what is going on in her head. Feeling a force push him away, like a firewall opposing a virus, he starts to groan then reaches a point where he 'switches off' Lillian's mind for a moment.

She falls into his arms, he emrabces her with protection. "It's alright L-Lillian, you're... you're okay now," He mutters then she sits up and runs a hand through her hair, "What were you doing?"

"I-I... I thought I'd... I was working on m-my powers and I could c-control them better," She explains shakily, "I wanted to see your future b-but I couldn't take the power."

Charles sighs then smiles softly, "You have to go step by step Lily, it's too soon-"

"It's not too soon, I can control it honestly!" She protests, "I can choose to see good or evil now."

"Alright..." He nods his head, "Are you feeling okay now?"

"Y-Yeah."

"You'll be fine sleeping in your room?"

Lillian stares at him with anxiety, glimmers of the images she saw still haunting her. She starts to squirm and back away slowly, making Charles hold her arm. "Y-You don't... have to go back Lily, if you don't want to," He tells her quietly, making her look at her hands.

Charles takes it as an agreement, scooting to the far side of the bed and letting Lillian lay down next to him. "Goodnight," He wishes quickly then turns to his side and stays very close to the edge, while hugging the covers. Lillian does the same on her side, leaving a wide space in the middle of the bed between the two of them.

It grows cold very soon, the lack of heat making Lillian shiver. She shuts her eyes and takes a deep breath, calming her mind. The thought of someone, Charles, being close to her allows her to fall asleep slowly.

Even though Charles isn't using his powers on her, he can feel that she's still uncomfortable... and uneasy.
