Body description:
As his platinum blonde hair is almost as pale as his skin, Nemuri appears as a very lusterless being. His white eyes and the (almost) black bags underneath them really complete his somewhat lifeless look. 

He wears the special earrings that represent the symbol of the family of Hikari and has a black tattoo running across his face, which shows off his power and status in the kingdom of Shifmeza.

As Nemuri's sleep schedule is sort of messed up (he barely gets any sleep at all), the deep bags underneath his eyes have been forming themselves ever since he was a couple of months old, thanks to his power.

Nemuri's arms, legs and torso are mostly covered in bruises. This is all because of his powers. His name is even based on his power; it means 'sleep'.

Nemuri has the power to take someone's nightmares and turn them into happy dreams, which lets him live in the nightmares himself. When he does this, bruises form over his body, since it takes a lot of energy and pain to convert the nightmares into dreams before experiencing them all by himself.

He can't chose not to live in the nightmares and is therefore often awake.

Personality:
Nemuri is known to be rather shy when you first meet him. He usually is on the quiet side, but has a very soft persona.

He is sweet and very much caring, trying to help everybody who needs it, even if they don't want any help. Growing up, he was taught to rule with an iron fist. Nemuri knows he really isn't the type for that. So, even though he is the oldest one out of his two brothers and three sisters, he doesn't want to become the next emperor and already has decided that the second child gets to take the throne.

Nemuri doesn't like loud places in the slightest and he is mostly to be found in the huge Midnight Library of the Dream Castle, where he spends many hours reading books and writing them himself as well.

He often doesn't sleep well, since he replaces the nightmares of the inhabitants of Shifmeza with dreams and experiences the nightmares after that. Those bad dreams are very realistic and can also cause him real injuries, therefore his bruised body. Sometimes, he just doesn't sleep at all due to this.

Backstory:
Nemu was born on the 13th of December and that was only the beginning of his 'miserable' life.

Already at his birth, he was very pale, while the rest of his family all had a pink or a darker skintone. This made him an outcast. As he grew up, his mother mostly took care of him; she was the only one who loved him with all her heart.

Once his tattoo started forming on his face, the disappointment of his family only grew bigger; he had the power to change dreams and live nightmares. Already knowing the consequences this would have on Nemu's health, his family was scared of him becoming the next emperor, as he would look weak.

It soon became clear that, even though he was the oldest child, he certainly wasn't the most loved one. His family was more than happy when a second child was born. One with a 'normal' skin and black hair. This baby was Nemuri's first brother, called Hana (which means 'flower') after his gorgeous, pink-ish eyes. 

As Nemu grew older, more siblings came along, as his parents grew older as well; a new empereor was needed sooner or later. Nemuri's father disliked him and didn't want his first son to become the next emperor. Since Nemuri didn't have the mind for it, he already knew he would never become the emperor his father was. He also didn't want to disappoint his family, and thus made clear that he wouldn't mind Hana to be crowned emperor once his father would pass away.

Once the prince turned 21 years old, his mother passed away due to a sickness. Nemuri felt broken about this and became even more asocial than he already was. He still is to this very day.
