:Sai is a fearless, studious, and short-tempered girl who aspires to be a doctor lives with her father Inspector Kamal Joshi in Gadchiroli, a village in Maharashtra. On the other hand, Virat Chavan, a Nagpur-based IPS Officer gets his first posting in Gadchiroli.

On Kamal's birthday, the deadliest goon Jagthap Mane who obsessive towards sai sets a trap for Kamal to kidnap Sai. Furious Kamal, punishes Jagthap and sends him to Jail but Jagthap's father Vittal Mane, a Politician in Gadchiroli threatens Kamal that he will harm sai and he gets released. Thinking that Jagthap may harm her father, Sai wants his father to retire soon and waiting for the new ACP Virat to join to sign his retirement to move to Nagpur hoping to get MBBS seat in Nagpur Medical College through Pre-Medical entrance test.

On a trip to Nashik, Virat meets Paakhi. They develop romantic feelings but are unable to express them. As they bid adieu, Virat promises to call her. Virat moves to Gadchiroli, where he meets his trainer Inspector Kamal Joshi and his daughter Sai. Virat misplaces Paakhi's phone number, who feeling cheated, decides to move on, and incidentally is married to Virat's brother, Samrat.

Virat confronts Paakhi and while the misunderstanding is cleared, Virat refuses to break up his brother's marriage but promises Paakhi that he would never love another woman. When Samrat discovers their story, he quietly leaves his house not wanting to get between Virat and Paakhi.

Later, Kamal is shot by Jagthap. Virat promises a dying Kamal that he would take care of Sai. Devastated, Sai tries to commits suicide but saved by Virat. Under social pressure Virat marries Sai. He tells Sai of his emotional commitment to Paakhi and Sai agrees not to expect him to fulfill the role of a husband.

Vitthal files a lawsuit against Virat and accuses him of forcefully marrying Sai. However, Virat is upset with Sai because he thinks everything was caused by her. Pakhi tries to separate the couple by instigating Virat against Sai, however, Sai solves the matter by talking to the main officer. Virat forgives Sai and befriends her. Pakhi continues to force herself on both the couple, which causes Sai to finally tell her she should be focusing on worrying about her own missing husband and not Virat, Virat takes Sai's side. Pakhi sobs in her room and realised that Virat is slowly changing, the next day, Pakhi leaves the house. Which in turn causes many issues for Sai as the family blames her. They force Sai that she needs to apologise, however, Sai keeps refusing as she has not done anything wrong. But they all believe she has been taunting Pakhi, while it has been Pakhi who has been picking on Sai out of jealousy. At Pakhi's parents house, her parents tell her that she did a great job in leaving, and Pakhi cries about how Virat has changed even though he had promised he would never change.

Sai promises Virat she will bring Pakhi back as she knows how much Pakhi means to him. Virat the next day goes to convince Pakhi, but fails. Seeing how worried Virat is about Pakhi not returning, Sai goes to her house the very next day without informing anyone. She tries to convince Pakhi. When Sai returns home, Bhavani and her puppets scold Sai and taunt her about leaving the house without telling anyone where she was going. In response, Sai refuses to say where she went and talks rudely with them. Virat next questions her and Sai gets upset with him. Back in their room, Virat gets a call from Pakhi who asks him why he sent Sai to her house. Virat learns where Sai went and tries again to convince Pakhi to return home over the phone.

The next day Pakhi returns. Bhavani and her puppets praise Pakhi and taunt Sai. Sai does not repsond, but Shivani and Ashwini support her. Shivani accuses Bhavani of being impartial with the bahus of the house and only cares so much for Pakhi since all of Samrat's money will go to her as she is his spouse, so Bhavani wants to make sure the money stays in the Chavan family.

Bhavani gets hurt and taunts Shivani. Later, Karishma tells Pakhi what happened after Sai returned home the previous day, and Pakhi realises that Sai was telling the truth, Sai had not told anyone, including Virat, that she had gone to Pakhi's house.Virat comes home happily and asks Bhavani if Pakhi come back home then Bhavani answers that Pakhi's Father had come to leave her here.At night Sayi is thinking about her results and does her aaba's acting in which his aana tells her. Virat watching her drama comments that she is cute while Pakhi fumes seeing them together

The next day everyone gets worried when Virat comes down to breakfast not wearing his uniform. He says he has taken the day off from work as he is waiting for some very important news, that news being Sai's medical entrance exam results and Virat happily spread that news that she has passed the medical entrance exam then Sai was sad because of her father's death and scolds Bhavani. Then Virat enters with Candy Floss and Balloons, Sai gets happy but Pakhi gets sad because Sai and Virat are together.

Sai feels excited looking at the balloons and candy floss and says thank you so much Virat sir. Pakhi in order to taunt sai says that is she a baby that you've got her balloons and candy floss.

Virat says that to know the meaning of these things you need to look at it from Sai's perspective as these are her father's memories. Sai takes the candy floss and feeds it to everyone, when she comes to Pakhi, Pakhi refuses and says I don't like it but Sai forces her and give one full packet. Pakhi takes the packet of candy floss and leaves the room.

Virat walks into the room and twists his leg, Sai runs and comes to his aid, she asks him to keep his leg straight on a chair and twists it a little more then she asks him to move the toes and check if it's paining. Virat asks Sai if she would want to accompany him to the riverbank Sai is a little hesitant at first but then agrees leaving a condition that Usha moushi will also go with them as she is Sai's family. Virat questions her asking whether he is her family or not. Sai responds saying that's upto you to decide whether I am your family or only your responsibility. Virat replies saying that the meaning of family itself is responsibility. At night Pakhi doesn't get sleep as she is thinking about how Virat has changed and is now enjoying Sai's company.

Sai brings green tea for Virat who wasn't feeling sleepy and was standing in the balcony. Sai says thank you again. Then Virat asks her why had she created such a big earthquake when he was gone, Sai replies that she thought that Virat had forgotten about the promise he made and had gone to the police station. After which Virat starts teasing her and says that she was missing Virat. Sai says there's nothing like that.

Pakhi who had come to the balcony slowly peeks and gets very angry seeing Virat and Sai together. Virat asks her to show him her documents. Sai says I have arranged them and kept them neatly. Virat takes hold of Sai's hand and drags her to the room and asks her for the documents. Sai hands over the documents and Virat takes a look at them and looks at Sai with an angry face and asks her where is her passport size photograph which has to be pasted in her form. They decide to get a photo taken in the morning and all should be good. The next morning when they are about to leave, Bhavani stops them and declares that Sai cannot get into a medical college because daughter in laws of Chavan family aren’t allowed to study or work outside. After a long conversation Virat is finally able to convince them to let sai study.Virat and Sai are able to get Sai an admission in a prestigious college. Next day Bhavani tries to teach Sai a lesson there fore she arranges for a feast for brahmins for the well-being and happiness of the house She instructs all the daughter in laws to cook food

themselves for the 11 brahmins .Sai who is very excited for her first day of college is told by bhavani to first prepare spices in a traditional way for the feast she tries to refuse as she is getting late but everyone starts to taunt her specially Paakhi After this sai begins to prepare spices initially she cuts her hand and is in a lot of pain she is instantly told to prepare chilli which hurts her cut even more .While Sai is in a lot of pain the people around her except for Ashwani(Sai's mother in law)are taunting her untill Virat comes to her rescue and then takes her to her college and also applies ice pack on their way to college.
