5.) No School
The next day the school declared to be out for a day of rest and recuperation after the USJ attack. Especially with two teachers out of commission, it was for the best.
Kaida gets dressed to head out. The twins' parents are at work, leaving the two with nothing to do at home.
Kaida heads out her room into the sibling's living room.
The Bakugo household is a three story house including a basement. The main floor is the kitchen with a dining room and two living rooms. The second floor is the twins' parents floor and two guest bedrooms.
The third floor is their floor. The left side is Katsuki's room and bathroom and the right is Kaida's room and bathroom. Their rooms are the same size. Between their two rooms is their own living room. They also have their own little kitchen beside the living room. It's like their own little apartment. They have a small stove, fridge, and microwave along with a couple cabinets above and below.
Their mother runs a fashion business along with a skin care product based off her quirk. She has the twins model for her every once in awhile too. They surprisingly don't really mind all that much. Mom makes the most income for the family. Their father does something too, something office related, but they don't really know exactly what it is. They know it's fashion based though.
"Where you going?" her brother asks from the couch in their living room, watching the news covering the USJ.
"I'm gonna head for a walk," she answers, slipping on her shoes at the door. "Wanna come with?"
He thinks for a minute before waving her off. "Nah."
"See ya then."
"Don't go making me look for ya later. I don't wanna deal with the hag's bullshit."
She waves him off and leaves the Bakugo household, taking the train into the city. She keeps her hands in the pockets of her jacket as she moves toward her destination.
Standing in front of the building are tons of newscasters and reporters and cameramen, screaming to let them inside.
Kaida frowns, thinking about how she'll get passed them. An idea immediately comes to her. "Whoa! Is that All Might?!"
They all immediately whip around and look at her.
"What?"
"I just saw All Might! He went that way!" Kaida shouts, pointing down the road.
Over half of the group heads off in the direction she pointed. Many still remain behind.
Kaida makes her way through the crowd, roughly shoving anyone that gets in her way.
"I'm sorry ma'am, but I can't let you in unless it's an emergency," a man says who's making sure to keep everyone out.
"I need to see Aizawa, I mean Eraserhead."
"I'm not allowed–"
"He's my teacher, and I was there at the USJ," Kaida interrupts. "I..."
"You were at the USJ incident?" a reporter asks. "Can you tell us–"
"Put a sock in it lady," Kaida huffs, glaring at her. "I don't have time for your obnoxious bullshit."
The man from before pulls her inside, locking the hospital doors behind them. "Are you really a student of UA?" He notices the muscles on her body. "You certainly have the physique of a rising hero."
Kaida raises her palm and releases a few cackles of her quirk. "Does this look like I wouldn't be a student?"
He gives her a pointed look. "That can also be used to kill him."
She rolls her eyes and pulls out her school ID. "This enough proof?"
"I'll take you to his room."
"Has he woken up yet?"
"He has. He should be leaving soon. He's caused quite a stir with being here. Says he doesn't like hospitals. Your teacher is a stubborn man."
They head up in an elevator up a few floors.
"Fitting..."
They exit the elevator.
"Stay here. I'll be right back." The man walks off and disappears around a corner. A few seconds later, his head pops out from the corner he turned at. "Alright, come on over."
Kaida rolls her eyes and follows him to a room. He leaves after dropping her off.
"Bakugo?"
Kaida walks in the room. "Well you look awful."
"What are you doing here?" Aizawa asks, leaning back against his bed.
"I was passing by."
"That sounds unlikely. It's not like you."
Kaida scoffs, crossing her arms in a pout as she sits in the chair beside his hospital bed. "Alright, fine. I... was... worried about you."
If Aizawa wasn't such an indifferent person, he would gasp mockingly and tease her like a smartass. He blames Mic. "As you can see, I'm fine."
"Yeah, your face being completely wrapped like a mummy and a broken arm is totally fine." She rolls her eyes.
"I've had worse."
"I don't believe you." It's silent as they stare at each other. She sighs. "The front entrance is flocked with reporters asking for you."
"Joy."
"I assume you'll go out the back way or something. How are you getting home?"
"Walking."
"You don't have someone... to help?"
"Usually Mic or Midnight, but they're both busy along with the other teachers to help resolve this USJ mess."
"I–"
"Don't volunteer to help take me home."
"I wasn't going to, but now I feel obligated to do that," Kaida scoffs, crossing her arms.
"Absolutely not."
"Well, it's a little late for that now. I've already made up my mind. It's not like you can stop me." She grins much like he does.
"I don't need help from my student."
"Just... let me help you home. I... feel like it's partly my fault you're this hurt anyway. It's the least I can do."
"Getting hurt is part of being a hero... and a teacher. It's not your fault." He lifts the arm that's not broken and puts his hand atop her head. "Actually, I'm sure I'd be worse if it wasn't for you. Don't beat yourself up over it." He ruffles her hair before pulling his arm back beside him. "You did good."
Her gaze remains locked on the bed covers of the hospital bed as her head was tilted down when he ruffled her head. She grins and looks up at him. "That was a very fatherly gesture."
The doctor walks in before Aizawa can retort.
"We got all your paperwork together and all you have to do is sign out then you can head on home," he tells them. "I hope you'll take him home?"
"I don't need to be watched like I'm a child especially by my own student."
"Yeah, I will," Kaida says, ignoring her teacher's complaints.
"Good," he says with a smile.
"Don't talk about me like I'm not here."
"Have a good night and remember to take the prescribed pain medication."
"Yeah, yeah," Aizawa responds.
The doctor hands him his papers. "You're free to go. I'll have someone lead you out the hero exit, so the reporters can't flock to you."
They check out at the desk, and Kaida follows behind him to make sure he doesn't injure himself further. She shoves her hands in the pockets of her shorts with a look of annoyance. They follow a nurse out the hospital into a tunnel that'll take them out to the streets.
"How far is your house from here?" Kaida asks after the nurse leaves.
"Walking distance."
"Don't be an ass."
"Apparently you haven't met yourself. And watch the language, I am still your teacher."
She rolls her eyes and crosses her arms. "Lead the way."
"I'd rather you not know where I live."
"Why? Is it a dump?"
"You're testing my patience, Bakugo."
"Don't make me call Present Mic and complain to him that you're going on patrol. Resulting in having to deal with his annoying presence complaining to you about it."
His eyes narrow. "You won't."
"And what are you gonna do to stop me, cripple?"
Aizawa's eyes flare and his hair rises as Kaida darts down the street, parkouring up a building. "Bakugo!"
She pulls out her phone and pulls up his number. "Present Mic?"
"Okay! Fine, you can help me home! Just get down here!"
Kaida smirks, making her way down. "Promise?"
"I'm going to expel you once we return to school tomorrow."
"Glad to know I'm on your bad side," Kaida says now standing beside him. "Now, let's get you home, cripple."
"Call me cripple one more time, and you'll see just how crippled I really am."
She cackles. "Lead the way."
The pro grumbles to himself almost the whole way to his apartment. Kaida hears the words Bakugo, expel, and little shit the most. Turns out it wasn't walking distance, and they needed to get on the train.
After about a 10 minute walk to then from the train station once they got off, they arrive at a few apartment complexes.
"Alright, we're here. Now you can leave."
"And how are you going to open the door?" She waves the bag of his belongings in front of him. "I have your keys." He moves to try and grab the straps with his good arm only for her to move back. "Ah, ah, ah, no."
He grunts and turns to the entrance, walking inside to the elevator. She follows behind him.
"Floor five, last door on the on the right."
She presses the button with the number 5 on it and up they go. The elevator opens once arriving at the floor, and the two walk down to the door. Kaida shuffles her hand in the bag, pulling out a chain of keys.
"Which key?"
"It's the purple colored one."
She opens the door and helps Aizawa inside. "Wow, your place is so... boring and empty."
A cat comes over to investigate the two, rubbing against Aizawa's legs and getting a few head pats before heading back to doing what it was before. Aizawa begins to grumble again in annoyance something along the lines of, "Stupid Nomu couldn't break my legs instead. Now I can't even pet both my cats..."
"Well, you're home, safe and sound, and that's my que to leave."
Aizawa sighs. "Thank you, Bakugo."
"Yeah, whatever. Don't expect me to do it again, so don't go off getting yourself injured again."
"Get outta here, kid."
She grins and closes the door behind her as she leaves the apartment. She heads back down the elevator and begins her trek back to her home, finding out her neighborhood is one train station away. She gets off the train and begins to make her way home only to be stopped.
"Bakubabe?"
Kaida flinches, freezes, then slowly turns around. "Hah?"
"It is you! What are you doing out and about? Where's your brother? Aren't you two always together?"
She looks to the person who called her and groans a bit. "Oh, it's you, weird hair."
"My hair isn't much different than yours!" Kirishima huffs then gets flustered after seeing her revealing outfit. "You... l-look good!"
"What are you doing out?" She shoves her hands in her pockets and continues to walk. "Actually, nevermind, I don't care."
He shrugs, ignoring the last part, and begins to follow her. "I-I was getting antsy staying inside."
"I'm surprised you even know what antsy means."
"Hey!" He puffs his cheeks out in annoyance.
"I'm going home. Don't follow me." She gives him a quick glare before continuing on.
"H-How about we hang out? Do something."
"Why would I wanna willing hang out with you?" she scoffs.
"Come on, it'll be fun!"
"I doubt it."
"Don't be that way. How about we do something you enjoy?"
Her right eye twitches. "I'd like to go home without you following and begging me to do something with you."
He rolls his eyes. "Besides that."
She rolls her eyes. "We're not friends, nor will we ever be."
"You can say that all ya want, Bakubabe, but we're still hanging out." He loops his arm around hers and begins to pull her back into the train station. "There's a place I wanna go check out. Come with me."
She tries to pull her arm out of his, but he keeps a firm grasp. "Let me go you shitty haired weirdo!" She sends an explosion into his face, but he uses his quirk, so it doesn't affect him.
He laughs. "That's not gonna work!"
Kaida snarls. "Can't you take a hint that I'm not interested in going with you, dumb hair!" She begins to repeatedly whack the top of his head.
He laughs in reply as he drags her off.
After getting many odd looks along the short train ride and walk there, they arrive at the destination Kirishima was taking them.
"Taadaa!" he exclaims, releasing her arm and shaking jazz hands at the café in front of them.
She immediately crosses her arms in a huff and reads the sign. "Hedgehog café?"
"Yeah! It's been getting really popular late–"
"C-Can we hold them...?"
"Uh, yeah, I believe so."
She quickly snatches his wrist and drags him inside. "Then what are we waiting for?"
"You're unusually enthusiastic."
"Shut your damn mouth and let's go see a hedgehog," she says, heading to pay for them.
"Whoa, I can pay!"
"Shut up, and go sit down. You can repay me by getting me lunch."
A worker gets them set up at a cage with two hedgehogs to coddle over. She shows them how to pick them up, gives them a small cup of mealworms to feed them with tweezers, and sanitizes their hands before leaving them be.
Kirishima cautiously picks up his hedgehog, gently petting it. He then turns to see Kaida frozen as she stares at the hedgehogs in awe. He chuckles. "You just gonna sit there and stare, or are you gonna touch them?"
"Oh, uh... yeah!" She immediately scoops up one hedgehog, speechless over the whole ordeal. She looks as if she's about to explode.
He tilts his head in amusement. "You glad I brought you now?"
"Shut up, weird hair, can't you see I'm–"
"Yeah, yeah, I can see you're about to just burst."
She quickly gets flustered. "D-Don't tell anyone about this!"
He laughs, finding this side of her really cute. "Didn't think the hardheaded Bakugo girl had such a soft side," he teases.
"I will literally kill you," she growls, watching the tiny creature curl into her hands at her soft pets. She melts and coos over the small animal.
Kirishima smirks. "I'm glad I got to see this side of you. You melt over cute things."
She suddenly grabs him by his shirt with her other hand letting off small pops in his face. "If you say anything to anyone, I will murder you."
He sheepishly and nervously smiles, holding his hands up. "I promise. It'll be our little secret."
Her lip snarls before she releases his shirt and moves to rub the belly of the hedgehog curled in her lap. "You fucking better."
"How about... we... make this a... normal go to thing? J-Just the two of us? We... could go to other places like this? L-Like... the cat cafés or owl?"
Kaida blinks. "A-Are you seriously blackmailing me by making me go on little dates with you?"
"N-No! No no no! I'm not gonna blackmail a girl! That's so unmanly! I-I... I... It was just a recommendation... like I'll be your go to guy if you wanna go to another place like this..."
Her eyes narrow at him. "What are you getting out of doing this?"
"What? I don't understand what you mean."
"Everybody that's nice to us this hard is because they want something from us. What are you getting out of trying to be friends with us?"
"N-Nothing! I just want to be friends! I don't have any bad intentions. I swear."
"Hmph." She cradles her little hedgehog in her arms and becomes quiet.
Kirishima chuckles. "These little guys remind me of you. Both have the same sharp hairdos and a feisty outside personality, but adorable and sweet inside."
She curls her lip in disdain but stays quiet for the rest of their time there.
~~~Was planning to end here... buuuuutttttt... wanted a bigger word count~~~
Kaida finally manages to get home and heads up to her room, getting stopped on the twins' floor living room by her twin.
"Where the fuck have you been all day? You've been gone for like 5 hours," Katsuki asks.
"Just... out."
He looks at her and mutes the tv. "What's wrong with you?"
"Do you think that we... nevermind... it's a stupid question."
Katsuki's eyes narrow then he sighs, not wanting to push her. She'll ask when she's ready. "How about we go out to train then get some groceries to make mom and dad dinner?"
"Yeah, that sounds good," she flatly says. "I'll go get some training clothes on."
"I'll meet ya at the front door." He heads into his room.
She slowly heads over to her own room and changes into a tank and some shorts before meeting her brother at the door. They lock the door behind them and head off to their usual training area, the woods.
When they were younger, they'd always go into these woods and play 'hero' with their 'friends' and Deku. The signs says 'no trespassing' and 'you can't go in there', but it's wide open just inviting people inside. It was never fixed, so they continued to go there. Nobody goes in there anyway.
They pass through the gates, taking the path they've always been familiar with. They get to the river, blasting themselves over it as the giant log they used as kids disappeared one day after a harsh storm. They make it to their usual spot.
A few years ago, the twins decided on this spot and made it like a fort. They built a little cabin stored it with an old small couch; that's just big enough for both of them to sleep on comfortably together. They secured the cabin so no critters or bugs can get inside too. Inside are some comics and books, blankets and pillows, foods and drinks, clothes, flashlights, loads of fire extinguishers, lanterns, and other similar things. Outside is like a little campground with a firepit and some logs to sit on nearby. They'll sometimes sleep there overnight, saying they were sleeping over at a friends.
Kaida sighs, setting her bag inside the cabin. Her brother does the same.
The cabin is locked by three sets of locks and a fourth inside is a chain. All three locks use the same key, and there's 3 keys made. One for each twin then the third hidden inside a small nook at the top of one of the nearby trees. The one inside the tree is colored a dull black so no critters will be drawn to it.
"So, what should we make for dinner?" she asks as they begin to stretch.
"Curry."
"Sounds good." She sits down.
"So, are you going to tell me what's wrong?"
"It's just... I don't know..." she mumbles, casting her gaze away. "We've never really had friends."
His eyes narrow at her as he sits down to stretch. "Of course we have–"
"They were only our 'friends' because they were scared of us and didn't wanna be on the receiving end, Katsuki," she scoffs. "I know you're smart enough to realize that."
He sighs, stretching his arms. "Why is this eating you up anyways? All we need is each other anyway."
"That red haired loser seems insistent on becoming friends with us," Kaida scoffs. "All our so called friends in the past have only used us, so they wouldn't be in our gaze. None of them have tried to contact and meet up with us once we started at UA. They're glad to finally be rid of us."
He rolls his eyes. "Really? The shitty haired loser is who has you in this rut?"
"Don't you think it's weird though? He's not befriending us because he's scared of us. It's because he wants to."
"He's a weirdo, so just leave it at that. You shouldn't be freaking over something so little." He stands up. "Come on, let's go train."
He holds out his hand and pulls her up. They walk further into a clearing to not wreck their cabin.
~~~
That night after everyone heads to sleep, Kaida sneaks out and heads back to the woods to further train. She was angry at herself for not being able to control her quirk properly while training today.
She makes it to the clearing and coats her hands with her sweat.
The sweat from anywhere on the twins bodies has nitroglycerin in it, but they can only ignite it, aka send out explosions, from their hands. Anyway, with the little bit of nitroglycerin in their sweat they constantly smell of caramel. Which is especially annoying during the summer or any hot day because of all the bugs. It's especially annoying at night with all the mosquitos. It's also a big reason why there's bug traps set around the area.
She begins to train, staying out past 3am and falling asleep in the cabin.
~~~...~~~
So I drew out how I imagine the Bakugo household. Enjoy!
