The new hero billboard charts came and went. Endeavor was the new number one. Hawks is number two.

Speaking of number two, he messages Kaida that she's coming with him to Kyushu. He stole her for the week being as Kyushu is over half a day away from Tokyo. He got permission from Nezu and her parents easily.

Endeavor is also there to meet Hawks. He's surprised when Kaida is with him.

"Hypernova?"

"Endeavor."

"What is she doing here?" Endeavor asks, glancing at Hawks.

Hawks looks around to make sure no one is listening in which is impossible with the many fans flooding around them. "I'll let you know when we get inside. Let's walk."

"Not like I wanna be here..." she grumbles.

They begin their walk to wherever Hawks planned to go. A man across the street from them shouts something, and Hawks strikes him down before he can cause trouble. Endeavor looks on in surprise.

"I'm a little peckish, so why don't we have our talk over some food. There's a great hot pot place not too far from here. You can really taste the flavors in the broth. Does that sound good? Not too heavy for ya?"

Many other situations go down that Hawks simply solves with his feathers while he continues to talk. Saves a dog from being hit by a truck, he greets fans, helps an old lady carry a heavy bag up the stairs, and takes selfies and autographs with fans.

No one pays attention to Endeavor as he watches curiously and with a slight pout. Kaida stands beside him, used to all the attention the winged hero gains. She crosses her arms with an eyeroll as she stands beside Endeavor.

Many make whispered comments about Endeavor. He's scary. Intimidating. And one actual fan who doesn't want to confront him, so Endeavor does it for him. Then a whole dramatic scene with the boy running away screaming that Endeavor isn't like that.

Kaida bursts out laughing. "You're so fucking awkward! You big weirdo! You're such a shithead your fans don't even want anything to do with you!"

"Shut up!" Endeavor flushes annoyed, his head enrages in fire.

Kaida just points and laughs and almost makes herself fall over.

They finally manage to make it to a restaurant. They order and get their food before the conversation begins.

"Now, why is she here with you?" Endeavor crosses his arms.

"You can't tell anyone. I've been interning her, but she's also mine!" Hawks wraps an arm around her shoulders, pulling her close and kissing her temple.

Endeavor's face blanks. "She's a child. She's also my son's girlfriend."

Hawks blanks for a moment then laughs, slapping Kaida's shoulder. "No way! He's who you were talking about?!"

Kaida's eyes widen, face draining of color before she regains her senses and punches Hawks. "No! I'm not dating fucking Icyhot!"

Endeavor almost tilts his head in confusion. "Did he not call you babe and your first name? I just figured and only approved because you're powerful. Your children would be even stronger than you could be."

Hawks continues to laugh as Kaida shoves him away.

"Hell no! That's... that's disgusting! Icyhot is... my friend. Honestly, he's more my best friend..." She sighs, face flushing. "Bakubabe is a nickname my stupid classmates came up with. Everyone calls me Bakubabe because I'm in the same class as my twin. They call him Bakubro. It's to differentiate the two of us."

"Oh."

"We grew up together," Hawks explains. "We've modeled together. Her mother is Mitsuki."

Endeavor nods. "That still doesn't explain why she's here for this conversation. Shouldn't she be at U.A.?"

"I stole her for the week. She was one of the kidnapped students the League took. They want her back, so she's with me."

They continue their conversation with Endeavor obviously getting angry cause Hawks is irritating.

Kaida zones out not really caring what they're talking about. She props her head on her hand, glancing out the window. She already knew everything that they were talking about.

After a bit, Kaida sees a black blob in the distance heading straight for them. "Guys! Take cover!"

Endeavor and Hawks both look and catch sight of what she's seeing.

"Well, that's not good," Hawks mutters.

The waitress of course makes that her moment for her appearance. "Excuse me. Here are your drinks."

"No! Don't come any closer!" Hawks warns.

Kaida moves fast and tackles the woman to the floor as soon as the being collides through the glass. Hawks hurls himself and curls them both into his wings.

"Which of you is strongest?" it rasps.

"Go, Hawks, Hypernova. Evacuate them," Endeavor commands.

"All over it," Hawks replies. "What about you?"

"It looks like they weren't rumors." He starts to build his power. "This is turning out to be my lucky day. After all, I wanted to know more about these things, right? So flashfire fist... jetburn!" He flamethrowers the speaking nomu out of the hole it created. Endeavor follows it out.

"Hey, Endeavor, I didn't know you could fly," Hawks jokes, seeing him basically floating right outside the building.

"I'm just not falling. Now stay alert. This thing's still moving."

"Hawks! Stop gawking and get moving! We need to evacuate all the people in the–" She's cut off as Endeavor gets slammed through the side of the skyscraper a few floors below. "–building before it goes down!"

"Right!" His wings spread and feathers take off in different directions to find everyone in the skyscraper.

The upper top part of the building gets completely sliced through. It starts slipping.

"Focus on the ones in the falling section!" Kaida says, turning her back to him and kneeling. "Get on my back. I can keep us in the air, so you can use all your feathers."

He nods. "Right."

"Hold on." She jumps out the window, blasting them to stay in the air.

Endeavor distracts the nomu while Hawks gets everyone out. Once everyone's saved, Endeavor slices the falling top of the building into small pieces. Hawks uses his feathers to make sure the bigger pieces don't hit anyone.

The fight continues with more heroes appearing before the speaking nomu drops many pale green colored nomu from its mainly destroyed body. They were stored somehow inside it. It starts to regenerate its limbs.

"Dammit!" Kaida shouts, blasting down to save people from the extra nomus. She blows their heads off quickly. "Why is it here? I thought–"

Endeavor and the nomu continue to exchange blows above before he gets thrown to the ground.

"We both did. Kaida–"

"Go! I can handle myself here. I'll finish up these extras and meet back up with you."

"Be careful." He nods and flies off.

Kaida storms off, taking out each and every green nomu. She makes quick work of them. "Take that you fuckers!!" She gets to a good vantage point and watches Hawks and Endeavor finish off the nomu.

Endeavor wins but is slammed to the ground before Kaida or Hawks can make it to him. He poses. His arm raised high in the air. It's weak, but it proves he's alive and won. He did it.

They rush up to help him.

"I can't believe you actually used the same pose as All Might!" Hawks exclaims, supporting Endeavor's left side.

"No... I used... the other arm... his was... the left..." Endeavor counters.

"Whatever, same difference!" Hawks shouts. "Anyway, thank you... for winning!"

"...I give it 0 points. I got off to a pretty horrible 'start.'"

Kaida tenses, hearing footsteps and turning in their direction. Her eyes narrow at the man. "Dabi."

Dabi smirks, walking closer towards them. "So, you remember me?"

"How could I forget my kidnapper?" Kaida scoffs.

Hawks and Endeavor look on in surprise.

"Well, a lot of things went beyond my expectations," Dabi says. "But, it's nice to meet you, I guess... Endeavor."

Endeavor looks to be about passed out. He's overheated and very bruised.

"Why are you here?" Kaida shouts. She already knew but didn't think it'd be now. This plan went very wrong.

"I caught wind that Endeavor was here, y'see..."

"...You are the one who murdered Snatch, or so I hear," Endeavor shouts. "The League of Villains' Dabi!"

Dabi shoots out his flames to surround them all in a circle of blue flames. "Sna—who? Doesn't ring a bell. More importantly, let's have a little chat. Opportunities like this don't come so often."

Endeavor tries to stand, but Kaida and Hawks push him back down.

"No, you need to rest! We'll take care of him," Hawks says.

"Yeah, right," Kaida scoffs. "Who are you kidding? You don't have enough feathers left. I'll do it."

"Hey, gimme a break would you?" Dabi calls out sarcastically. "I just came to take back that Nomu. I mean, there's no way I could win against the top two heroes and a little girl when the two pros are on death's doorstep!"

"Little?! Fuck you!" Kaida gets in a defensive stance with a huff.

Out of nowhere, a person jumps over the flames and lands right in between Kivi and Dabi with a loud impact. "I saw the news and 'hopped' right over! Looks like things are really heating up here, eh, Endeavor?! Hawks?!" She looks at Dabi. "You're one of those League of Villains bastards, ain'tcha?! I'll kick you to kingdom come!"

"Miruko...?! Man, just when things were getting good..." Dabi sighs. "A little help, Ujiko." Black goo sprouts from Dabi's mouth like during the time in Kamino. "Catch ya later, mister number one hero. I'm sure we'll have another chance to talk. But until then, break a leg out there! But don't go kickin' the bucket! Todoroki Enji!" He smirks. "Also, I'm kidnapping again." He points at Kaida.

Kaida starts choking, keeling over as black goo shoots out of her mouth. "No..."

"Kaida!" Hawks shouts, reaching out to her.

"Welcome back, little hero." Dabi disappears in the black goo as Miruko goes to kick him and only gets some smelly black goo on her foot.

Kaida's eyes widen and she reaches out to Hawks. "Haw–" She's swallowed in the black goo and vanishes.

"Dammit!" Hawks screams.

"That wasn't how you said things would play out," Hawks basically growls, holding a large, sharp feather up to Dabi's chin. "And taking Kaida wasn't in the deal."

It's the next day after the battle against the talking nomu. Hawks confronts Dabi angry.

"Oh is that a fact?" Dabi retorts.

"I'd prefer it if you and I got along better, Dabi. Where's Kaida?"

"She's safe. It's not like I can give her back now. It's just easier this way. Now, I don't have to go through you whenever I need her." He eyes the feather sword. "Thought you only had small feathers left after that battle?"

"If I'm going to meet a liar in a secret location, I'm not coming unarmed. Especially when my lovebird was taken. The fight was supposed to go down at a warehouse tomorrow. Instead, you unleashed a nomu in the middle of the city. One on a totally different level than the others we faced. If we're going to trust each other, you have to keep me up-to-date."

"I guess I had a sudden change of heart. But I did give you advanced warning. I wanted to test the new nomu in the field. Besides, you're not without blame yourself. You said you'd bring a random pro along. I didn't expect the number one hero or your toy. Now that's not very fair."

"Your beast gave Endeavor severe injuries. I figured you would be thrilled to give him such a workout. I did what you asked me. You are the only one who broke a promise here." Hawks glares.

"Think of it as testing our pet pro to see if I can actually trust his word." He pushes the feather away from him. "I couldn't help but notice you saved a couple of bystanders. You came to us saying you sympathize with our cause, yet you fought so hard today."

"I'm no good to you if the hero community loses faith in my work. The more they trust me the more intel I'll be able to collect on them. You know that. Unless you're incapable of thinking long-term. Everything I do is in the name of advancing the League. Got it?"

Dabi walks past him. "Sure. Say that all you want, but I can't let you see the boss yet. But, you can see Nitro. I'll be in touch, partner."

Kaida reveals herself, as Dabi gives the signal, and rushes up to Hawks. She was dressed in her Nitro outfit and with a new hair color.

"Your hair..."

"Better disguise."

He sighs relieved, pulling her into a hug and leaning close to her ear. "I'm sorry. This wasn't supposed to happen. I can't bring you back."

She rests her head on his chest as she returns the hug. "I know. I'll be okay. I'm not worried about myself. My brother, school, and classmates on the other hand..." She sighs. "It was gonna fucking happen eventually. Way fucking earlier than I thought, but as nervous as I am... I'm also so relieved. They want me here, and I don't have to take that damn awful medicine now. This is for the better. I've been kidnapped. I didn't join. The public doesn't know that I'm part of them. It's perfect."

He nuzzles his cheek into her hair, squeezing her a bit tighter. "I know. This just sucks. I know you aren't scared, but I'm terrified for you."

"Oi! You two done? We don't have all day. You're acting like you won't see each other again. Just kiss and let's go," Dabi complains from the entrance.

She places her phone in Hawks' hand. "Give this to my brother. Say I dropped it. Dabi won't let me take it. Any evidence is gone."

Hawks takes a deep breath before kissing her forehead. "Be safe."

"I will." She gives him one last glance as she pulls away and vanishes with Dabi.

Dabi and her are standing at the harbor by some warehouses, looking out at the ocean in the darkness of the night. They're both silently watching the crescent moon.

Dabi then releases a noise of realization. "Ohhh, that was Snatch. The sand guy, right?"

"You just now fucking realized it?!" Kaida shouts annoyed. "What a–"

Dabi chuckles, reaching up to his eye or the skin stapled beneath it, and wipes away blood that starts to drip. It was like tears but of blood. It was odd to look at. "I've thought about it so much it's driven me insane." He wipes the blood off on his coat.

"You're crazy."

"You just now fucking realized it?" He slaps the words right back in her face.

She huffs, crossing her arms. "Touché."

He turns to her lifting his hand to brush a finger through her now red hair. "You're copying me."

"Mine is red, not black."

He smirks. "My hair is naturally white now, but it was red first before my quirk appeared."

"Really?"

"We're both hiding who we really are." He sighs, glancing back at the moon for a moment. "Alright, let's get moving. We have work to do tonight."
