14.) The Shopping Mall Craze
"E-everyone I'm looking forward to all your stories on how fun camp was," pinky sniffles.
"Maybe they'll end up letting you go," Deku says, trying to cheer them up. "There might be a last-minute twist or something."
"Stop, Midoriya," tape boy sighs. "By saying that out loud you're just jinxing us."
Kaida zones out not wanting to listen to their annoying sobbing any longer. The door slams open.
"Once the bell rings you all should be in your seats," Aizawa says. Everyone rushes to their seats as Aizawa makes his way to his desk. "Morning. Fortunately there are a few of you who didn't pass your final exams. So when it comes to the training camp in the woods... everyone is going!"
"We really get to go to camp?!" Kirishima asks happily.
"Seriously?!" pinky cheers.
"Yes. The good news is no one bombed their written exam," Aizawa says.
Turns out Sero failed too since he fell asleep. Aizawa goes on to explain about the match ups and what not then upsets the class about deceiving them or whatever.
They all get packets about the trip and what to bring. Then the class decides to do a class trip to the mall.
"Bakubro, see you there, right?" Kirishima asks.
"I can't think of anything more annoying," he answers simply and leaves the room.
"Will you come, Todoroki?" Deku asks Shoto.
"I visit my mom on days off," Shoto answers.
"Party poopers! Do you ever get tired of being so serious?!" purple blob complains.
"What about you Bakubabe?" Kaminari asks before Kirishima can.
"Sounds stupid," she huffs.
"So you're not going to come either?" Kirishima asks, making puppy dog eyes at her.
Her eye twitches, and she scoffs. "Stop making that weird fucking face. I never said I wasn't going. I got to get some hiking shoes anyway. My last ones wore down."
Her brother clicks his tongue, glaring at her. "If your going then I guess I have no choice. The hag will make me go with you."
Shoto looks on, trying to decide if he should actually go or not. He doesn't want to see his friend in the predicament she was in before. Maybe he should tell his mom he'll have to visit her a bit later in the day than usual. She'll be okay with her brother with her though.
💥💥💥
The whole class, except Todoroki, Tsu, Sero, Koda, Sato, Ojiro, and Aoyama, met up at the mall for their summer camp training. They all meet in the front.
"Whoa! Bakubabe! Looking good!" Kaminari compliments.
"Shut up, Pikachu," Katsuki growls.
"Showing lots of skin! Nice!" Mineta comments, nose bleeding.
"You're so fashionable, Kaida!" Mina exclaims. "You too Bakubro!"
"Shuut up!" he huffs.
"Yeah, you guys look great," Kiri nods with flushed cheeks, looking away from her outfit.
Interrupting their conversation, are some guys who point them out and other people begin to fawn over them for the sports festival.
"Whoa! Is that the winner of the sports festival?!"
"It is! She got a hair cut!"
"Cool! She's super strong!"
"So badass and hot!"
Kirishima chuckles. "Seems like you have fans!"
"Seems so."
They end up fanning out and separating into groups, agreeing to meet back at three. The twins end up together with Kirishima.
"Why the fuck do we always end up pairing with shitty hair?" Katsuki huffs. "I don't wanna be a damn third wheel! I'm leaving!" He stomps off to a different section of the mall.
Kaida rolls her eyes as she watches him leave. "He's so fucking annoying I swear."
"Well, you said you needed hiking shoes, right? Let's get that done first," Kiri says, grabbing her hand and pulling her along. "I've been to this mall a bunch of times, so I know where everything is at!"
"Whatever," she replies, letting him drag her to their destination. "What're you even here for?"
"I just wanted to hang out with everyone," he admits. "But hanging out with you is even better than with everyone." He gives her a quick smile before continuing forward.
Why do I feel a bit... hot? "Freak..."
Kirishima makes his way into a sports store, walking straight up to an employee. "Hey, do you guys have hiking shoes for girls?"
"Not many, but they're over here," the man responds, leading them over to the shoes.
"Thanks man!" Kiri says, turning to Kaida. "Here we are!"
Kaida looks at the limited amount of women's hiking shoes. "Kinda sexist." She looks beside the few shoes to the men's vast amount of hiking shoes. "Fucking stupid." She finds some solid black ones and gets them in her size, trying them on before buying first.
"How do they feel?"
"Good enough," she responds after testing different activities with them. She takes them off, putting them back in the box and getting back on her own shoes. "Alright, let's get 'em."
"Cool."
She pays for the shoes and out back into the mall they go. "What now?"
"You didn't need anything else?"
She thinks as she hums. "Well, I guess... hmm no... I can't think of anything I don't have. Nii-chan and I go hiking a lot, so we usually have everything updated."
"You do? That's cool. Sounds like fun. Maybe I could join sometime?"
"Fuck oooffff," she groans, stuffing her hands into the pockets of her shorts.
He laughs. "I'll take that as a yes!"
"Hah?! Where in that phrase did I say anything like that?!"
He continues to laugh as they walk. "You really are a tsundere."
"What was that?! I am not!"
"You just proved it! Bahahaha!" He laughs harder.
"Sh-Shut up!"
He suddenly goes quiet, making her look at him with a tilt of her head. She shrugs and continues walking with him.
"Hey... Bakubabe? Can I ask you a question?" He speaks up after a moment.
"Whaaat?" she groans.
"You know how we found out we're soulmates, right?"
"Yeah, what of it?"
"What does that mean for us? Or I don't know... what exactly would that make us?" He curiously asks.
"It means we're soulmates," she answers. "There's nothing more to it."
"But, aren't soulmates bound together for life? Doesn't it mean we're perfect for one another? Like to date?"
"Us date? Ha! Yeah right!"
"It is weird to think about..." he admits sheepishly. "We did basically just meet each other after all. Not that I wouldn't date you! You're very beautiful, and it's just..."
"Awkward."
"Yeah..." He rubs the back of his head, looking away from her.
"I don't really care. That guy was probably a fucking fluke anyway," Kaida scoffs, rolling her eyes. "There's no fucking reason to worry about that stupid moment. Act like it never happened."
"Yeah... okay..." He sadly sighs. His eyes widen. "Ah! Bakubabe! Come with me!" He grabs her wrist and tugs her to a different shop.
"Where are we going now?" she huffs.
"It's a surprise!" he answers.
"Weirdo."
She rolls her eyes as she lets him drag her down the mall. Onlookers look at them strangely for the unnecessary rushing.
He stops in front of a door. "Here we are!" he shouts out, dropping her hand and throwing his hands up to present it.
She looks at the store to find a cutesy store full of cute little toys and stuffed animals. She blinks and seemingly melts as they enter. "Oh..."
Kirishima chuckles, watching her reaction. Cute. "I thought you'd enjoy this place."
"Ah! Look they have a hedgehog plush." She turns to him with a big smile then freezes, looking away embarrassed and puffing up her cheeks.
Kirishima laughs. "Aww! Don't stop acting all cute now!"
"Shut up!" she huffs, moving through the store and wanting to just buy all the cute stuff.
It's about 30 minutes later when they leave.
"Ah, Bakubabe and Kirishima!"
The two turn to find Kaminari and Mineta who are both carrying a few bags.
"Hey guys!" Kiri greets.
"Where's Bakubro?" Kaminari asks. "Didn't he end up going with the two of you?"
"He went off on his own," she answers.
"Weird," Kaminari says. "Anyway, you guys finished shopping?"
"I didn't really have to get anything," Kirishima admits. "I just wanted to hang out with everyone."
"Bro."
"Bro."
"You guys are fucking freaks," Kaida huffs.
"Attention shoppers. We're sorry for the interruption, but we kindly ask everyone to exit the mall as we had a villain attack and need everyone to exit. We're sorry for the inconvenience and hope you all have a great rest of the day."
The mall goes into a small uproar and most rush to the exit.
"There was a villain attack?!" Kaminari shouts. "Can't we ever get a break?!"
All their phones go off from the group chat. Uraraka messaged, saying that Deku was the one attacked.
"Of course it's that fucking nerd. He's just the biggest fucking attention whore these days," Kaida scoffs as she stomps off to the front of the mall to meet with the rest of the group.
As police show up and the whole mall is evacuated, the group remains behind to answer questions even though they didn't really have any answers besides Uraraka and Deku. Deku ended up leaving with the officers to tell them more in detail.
~~~
On the train ride home.
"Kaida."
She looks to her brother beside her. "Yeah?"
He doesn't turn to her. "I'm going to ask you a question."
"Okay?"
"Promise you won't lie to me." He still doesn't look at her.
"Uh, okay...?"
He pauses for a second as his gaze stays forward. "Did you or did you not have a panic attack while I was knocked out after I battled All Might?"
She looks away from him. "I didn't."
"You said you wouldn't lie."
"I'm not lying."
"I'm going to ask you one more time and tell me the truth. Did you or did you not have a panic attack while I was knocked out?"
"No."
"Stop fucking lying! That grandma told me that my heart rate started spiking while I was sleeping as if I was having a panic attack, but I remained no different! Now tell me the truth." She remains silent. He scoffs, looking to her. "Dammit, Kaida."
"It wasn't a panic attack, it was an anxiety attack."
"What fucking difference does it make?! Why didn't you tell me?!"
"I didn't wanna tell you because I knew this is how you would react! I'm fine! It was a one time thing! It's nothing to worry about!"
"Yes it fucking is! You're going to have to start taking your medicine again."
"NO! No! I...I can't go back on those. I hate how they change me. They turn me into someone I'm not... I can't go back on antidepressants. I... I just got overwhelmed. I'm fine. Please, don't tell mom."
His eyes narrow at her. "Fine, but if it happens again, I'm telling her."
She crosses her arms with an annoyed pout. "Whatever."
"I mean it Kaida," he says, staring at her intently. "I know you hate them, but I care about you being okay more than your personal feelings about it."
"I don't need your fucking protection anymore, so fuck off," she huffs, standing up and moving to a different part of the train to be away from him.
They head home in silence. She walks in front of him by a good 8 feet as they walk. They get home, Kaida obviously entering first.
"Hey you two!" their mom greets them. "You're back early! Did you two have fun at the mall? I haven't started dinner yet as it is still early."
"I'm not hungry," Kaida mumbles. "I'm going to bed."
"This early?! It's only 4!"
"Then I'm going to nap," she rephrases, heading up to her room and slamming the door behind her.
"Jeez, who pissed in her cereal this morning?" she huffs, looking to her son. "What's wrong with her?"
"Nothing," he says, slowly shuffling off his shoes and putting his bag up. "I'm going to go train." He puts on tennis shoes.
"Without Kaida?"
"Yeah." He leaves the house.
Mitsuki is left alone. "What the fuck happened at the mall?"
