Sweet Warm Milk
A/N- Just like Star Nostalgia, this is more a clump of thoughts, except that this poem rhymes more. It's long too. I must have been vibing a lot on that day to write such long poems. Also for some reason this is bold, so I'll put my author's note in not bold text for this one.
If there was a drink I would say most reminds me of you
It would be tasty sweet warm milk, the sugary brew
Makes me feel nostalgic, feel feelings I haven't felt
For a long time, I've let the warm liquid melt
Waiting for its natural flow
It takes a long time, savor the flavor as you let it go
Deeper into your throat, boom, down though your whole body
You'll feel and be so warm, everybody
Will wonder, 'What happened to that person? They were so mean
And now they're so keen
To be kind, is there some miracle substance that does this?'
Nope, it's just my sweet warm milk caressing your throat
Like a kiss, if your life sucks, we're both in the same boat
But I'll protect you, keep you afloat
If you're thirsty or hungry, just let me know
I'll pour some sweet warm milk into a cup, it helps you grow
Grow strong and supple, like a beautiful plant
If you need help, I'll chant
Spells and songs to keep the monsters away
You're a young child that I pray survives another day
Your life is too precious to go so soon
Ask what you want of me, I'll be your boon
Your cradle when you want to rest
Surely, if I'll do all this, we'll be blessed
Look, the rainbows have come to make life brighter
Because you've survived, they gift you with their beauty, you're
My sweet fighter
Stay on a bit longer with me, there'll be more rainbows to come
The sweet warm milk drips down my fingers, drip drip drip
Lap it up with your warm tongue, sip, sip, sip
My little star-wishing child, I hope you someday see
Your protector can't always be me
One day, my sweet milk will dry up, and you'll be left alone
Nobody to talk to on anything, not even the phone
When that day comes, I hope you don't fall down again
Stay calm and happy, even through the rain
And the sun will surely come back to your eyes one day
Even when your sky is gray
You're not the only one feeling this way
I'm here, too, crying like you, we can hug each other
Believe me, we can believe in one another
I swear I'll never let you go
The night is still young though...
Don't blame me if I speak happily some days to hide the pain
I do that sometimes, even though I don't gain
Any happiness from that, I like to pretend
Please, tell me you'll still be my friend
If you can't sing and dance with me, too bad
I'll sing for you, don't be sad
You'll be better than me at everything someday
At least, that's what I like to say
Quick, while I'm still here, run and hide
If there's a barrier in your way, push it aside
This is the briar-choked road to our dreams
There's two roads, and both have streams
Of sweet warm milk, to empower us for this last push forward
You drink, I drink, and we run forward, our banners raised
If we are to die on the road to our dreams
Our death will be praised
As each door gleams
Brighter, our missed dreams mourning
Seeing our bodies and warning
Any coming travelers, this last push is perilous
With their voice querulous
They warn the youngsters, but they don't listen
If they can make it to their dreams that glisten
Even less than ours did, we can surely revive and try once more
Until we reach our desired golden shore
Far away beyond that door, my jeweled dream awaits me
It makes me smile when I think of it, fills me with glee
If you're tired, sleep on my shoulder, I'll throw you through
Your door, look, gold and silver flowers grew
Where our bodies once lay, asleep
Our promises to follow our dreams, of course, we always keep
And we now can lay down, wash our feet
We've been beat
Up enough for today, let's rest a bit
Not now, we mustn't quit
Wake up and forge on, this dream isn't perfect yet
We need to run on, we need to sweat
A bit more until we make it to our ideal life
Without any strife
We can now lie down and drink all the sweet warm milk we need
In this fertile, fresh-smelling soil I'll plant the seed
Of a dream yet to come, will it happen or not, I don't know
But believe this, if its possible, I'll go
To the ends of the earth to achieve my dream
Physically break and be physically broken to achieve my dream
Emotionally break and get likewise broken, all for this dream
Then, if I'll do all this for one small dream
What will you do for yours?
I hope it's not too many chores
If they are, I'll do them all for you
I want you to succeed too
Now that I'm where I want to be, let's drink this sweet milk
Together, we're more valuable than silk
Traversing ancient and dangerous roads, we reach our goals
Cheers to the better life we live now, I couldn't have made it
Without you, you may be a precocious little twit
But you quickly get endearing
I'm tired of hearing
You always whining, so jump on my back, if I have to
I'll carry you
To the finish line, hop off and sprint, grab your dream
Tastes even sweeter than your favorite flavored ice cream
If you feel depressed some days, here's a paper and a pen
Write down your most hated features, write till your hands
Turn black and you can't turn back again
Everyone else loves everything you hate
Tear the paper up and throw it away, we can celebrate
Because we're perfect the way we are, young and free
Now let's write a paper for me
If everyone loves all of me, then there's no fun in the world
Just like how pearls are birthed through the pain of curled
Up mollusks, I want to go through pain before I get everything
Of me loved, I'm not yet fit for a king
But I hopefully will be soon, I really want to be
There's no reason why you need to be toxic, I love me
No matter what you said, I'm a queen, and I'm my own beautiful
Your rebukes don't even stain me, I'm full
Of sweet and happy, positive vibes
If anyone describes
Me as anything negative, I'll just shrug it off
Even if you say nothing positive, and scoff
At me, I'll reach my dream
I don't need twits like you drying up my whipped cream
Please, leave me alone, before I vent my rage all over you
I really don't want to
But for some twits, giving up is necessary
So we can reach the next stage and still be merry
Don't worry if I'm down for a little while
Just like internet, I'll pop up again, with a wide smile
So don't be worried about your happiness, it'll come back
Now that you're on your track
Again, let me give you some more sweet warm milk
Before I fade into my own dream
We'll share one last sweet whipped cream
Covered drink before leaving, keep your eyes bright and open
My child, don't let them close, if they do, just reopen
Them, watch for me on the stage, in the spotlight, I'll be there
And I'll sing a song only for you, with my voice so fair
If you need a smile, I'll be there, as my own self
I'm so glad you found yourself
Before I go
I want you to know
Whoever is willing to go
And read my prototype work and
Look on me as a person, not a toy for their needle-like words
I have this to say: Fine feathers do not make fine birds
Be careful who you trust, claws can be easily hidden
Although the pain of the slashes can be easily overridden
The ugly scars last forever, and you don't want those on you
They're hideous and usually a strange hue
Far different than the skin
The good Lord put you in
So be careful, and listen to their words carefully
Look for lies, some people could be spies
In that case, don't give them any information, just let them be
They'll realize they have more worth eventually
And if these words are ones you obey
You'll have a nice day, a nice life
Free from strife
