✧Lan Zhan- Mistake✧
A/N- That piece of fanart is just so beautiful and sad...
Also this chapter does contain a small scene of sexual assault, so I'll add a note when it happens so you can skip it if that type of stuff triggers you.
LAN ZHAN WAS not known to be a man that could hold his liquor in. In fact, there were rumors that after he drank only one cup of Emperor's Smile, he would get drunk. You were eager to test this theory.
It was a starry night, a beautiful night, and you were out on the town with Wei Wuxian and Lan Zhan, both of which were deeply in love. You felt like the third wheel, which was normal. All of your other friends were in stable relationships as well, and you were just lonely. (wrote this sentence from personal experience lmao) However, Wuxian and Lan Zhan were kind to you. They noticed you more than your other friends and their significant others did when you were out with them, and you were thankful to them for that.
"Hurry up, Lan Zhan! They're almost out of Emperor's Smile!"
The handsome and playful Wei Wuxian... your heart hurt thinking of how much he had suffered.
"I'm coming, Wei Ying. Don't rush me!"
And the long suffering Lan Zhan, the protective and loving boyfriend. He never showed his emotions to anyone but Wuxian. You honestly didn't think he had ever even cracked a smile your way. You knew he was kind to Wuxian though, and that was good enough for you.
Wei Wuxian had already gotten the three of you a table as well as a thick ceramic jug filled with the sweet-and-sour marvel that was Emperor's Smile. Emperor's Smile was quite probably the best liquor you had ever tasted. It was a mixture of multiple flavors, all which mixed together to make a beautiful harmony in your mouth.
And better than the good taste of it was the fact that Lan Zhan would be drinking it. Tonight, you would see if the rumors about the legendary Lan Zhan's inability to hold in liquor were true or not.
"Cheers, everyone," you said, clinking your glass together with the two mens' glasses.
And then you had the time of your life.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"L-Lan Zhan, p-please... you're hurting me..."
You were completely drunk and out of your mind. After drinking five cups of Emperor's Smile, you didn't know which way was up anymore, but you were having fun.
Wei Wuxian wasn't, however. After Lan Zhan had drunk one glass of the liquor, he had complained of feeling dizzy. Wei Wuxian, who was also drunk out of his mind, hadn't told him to stop, as he usually would if he wasn't drunk. Instead, he had let Lan Zhan drink five more glasses. He had let his boyfriend get terribly drunk.
And now he was letting him violate him in public, without consent.
A/N- Sexual assault scene begins now. I'll let it know when it ends so you can skip it.
After finishing his drinks, Lan Zhan's mind was completely muddled. He had seen Wei Wuxian and grabbed him, pushing him to the ground and peeling his clothes off. Wei Wuxian begged for him to get off, but Lan Zhan wasn't in his right mind, so he hadn't listened to the cries of his lover.
You turned away so as not to see the disgusting scene, but Wei Wuxian's cries and moans made you turn to look. You only looked for a moment, but you had seen enough already.
Lan Zhan had been too enthusiastic and gone in too hard, and now Wuxian's blood, and other liquids which you didn't want to know the identity of were staining the pristine streets of Lotus Pier. Everyone else at the tavern, or at least everyone else that wasn't too drunk to care, was staring at the scene with a look of horror on their faces.
Help him! you wanted to yell at those staring people. But you were stunned into silence by the completely uncharacteristic behaviors of Lan Zhan.
Wei Wuxian didn't even have the energy to cry anymore. He just whimpered softly and let Lan Zhan take advantage of him, sobbing and whimpering until he had expended so much blood and energy that he became unconscious.
A/N- Assault scene ends now. (sorry if it was kind of disgusting or badly written, i don't usually do those types of scenes, i don't write any sexual stuff in stories really. but just this once it'll be written. probably never again, since i felt disgusting writing it.)
When Lan Zhan saw his boyfriend lying in a pool of bodily fluids on the ground and saw you and everyone else staring at him and looking terrified, his drunk mind finally came to its senses. He began to hyperventilate, gasping for breath and choking out Wei Wuxian's name with tears running down his cheeks.
"W-Wei Ying... I-I'm so so-sorry... p-please... wake up..." he gasped.
You wrapped your arms around him, kneeling down in the blood and cringing a little when you felt it touch your clean and beautiful hanfu and stain it in an instant. It would take a lot of time to wash that off, but you didn't care. All you cared about right now was comforting your friend.
"You made a mistake, Lan Zhan," you said, being honest with him- you hoped not too coldly honest. "Because of your mistake, you hurt someone you loved. Just don't make that mistake next time, and Wei Wuxian- your Wei Ying- won't be hurt."
"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry... I'm a fool... I'm so sorry... I'm sorry, I-"
"Hush, Lan Zhan," you whispered, stroking his hair gently. You had never been this close to Lan Zhan- he wouldn't let you touch him, and you felt weird getting near to such an emotionless man. Besides, he was already taken by Wei Wuxian. Getting near to and hugging a man who was already in love with someone else, even if you weren't touching him to be romantic.
"It'll be alright, Lan Zhan. He'll wake up and be fine. Don't worry. He's not that badly hurt that he would die from his injuries," you said, in an attempt to soothe him. Your attempt to soothe him failed, as it just made him more worked up.
"W-what if I had k-killed him... I-I don't... I can't..."
He burst into sobs once again, and he buried his head in your chest, holding tightly onto your arms as if he was trying to stay afloat in a rowboat.
He is, you thought. He's trying to stay afloat in the tempestuous waves of his sadness, in the darkness of his mind. Without Wei Wuxian to save him, he's suffering... (why do I love the poetic quality of the lines I just wrote here? Trying to stay afloat in the tempestuous waves of his sadness, in the darkness of his mind... I'm actually proud of those lines! I love them~ This Lan Zhan oneshot is so much better than the other one!)
"You didn't kill him. He's alright. He's going to open his eyes and see you, and he's going to-"
You cut yourself off, cursing yourself for saying such a stupid sentence. When Wei Wuxian woke up and saw Lan Zhan, he would be terrified. Lan Zhan had just hurt him, after all, and assaulted him without his consent. He wouldn't be happy to see his boyfriend, as he would normally be. He would scream and try to run away.
"He's going to hate me.." Lan Zhan whispered. "Oh no... my love, my heart, my everything... the reason I live... he's going to hate me..."
"You can apologize to him, prove to him that you were wrong," you said. "Your relationship will be fine. Everyone makes a mistake once or twice."
"I ASSAULTED HIM! WITHOUT CONSENT!" Lan Zhan howled.
Everyone in the bar began to look at you once again, looking concerned. You realized that staying in this atmosphere for much longer would be harmful to you, and especially Lan Zhan. You picked up Wei Wuxian and carried him out. Then you walked back in and pulled on Lan Zhan's sleeve. He followed you hesitantly, stopping after every step and looking sadly out at where Wei Wuxian was lying unconscious on the pier, right next to the peaceful water.
"Come on, it's beautiful out here. Let the water and the moonlight calm you down," you said, trying to get him to move along.
"I-I don't w-want to g-go..."
With an exasperated sigh, you grabbed him by the arms and pulled him over to where his boyfriend was lying down. The moonlight shining down on Wuxian's body made him look extremely handsome, and you almost cried yourself seeing that.
Lan Zhan was still a mess, though. He buried his head on your shoulder and breathed shakily, holding onto your arms again. Holding onto your arms seemed to anchor him and center him, as his breathing became calm again. Slowly yet surely, he became himself again. The cold air of the night, the scent of the river, and the glowing moonlight made him change back into his normal self. Except with emotions this time.
He sat down by Wei Wuxian's side and waited for ten minutes, patiently, until he opened his eyes again.
"My Wei Ying!" he cried out, throwing his arms around his boyfriend and pulling him close to him. "You're awake."
"L-Lan Wangji p-please let me g-go..."
Wei Wuxian sounded weak, broken, and scared. He was trembling, trying to get out of the arms of his boyfriend, who was begging his forgiveness.
"I'm so sorry I hurt you! My love, my everything, I'm so sorry! Please believe me... I would never have hurt you if it hadn't been for me ingesting too much alcohol. I'll never do it again! Please, Wei Wuxian- my Wei Ying- please, believe me! Believe your Lan Zhan... please!"
Wei Wuxian got up on shaky feet and ran for Cloud Recesses, never looking back.
Lan Zhan and you were left sitting alone on the pier. Lan Zhan began to shake and sob yet again. It shocked you how many tears this man had in his body.
"I'm so sorry," he sobbed. "My Wei Ying... please come back..."
A/N- Just like the previous two oneshots, Wei Ying's part will be part two to this! I'm actually very proud of this oneshot- it's far better than the other Lan Zhan one I wrote, but that could just be because I was more inspired and spent more time on this one than the previous one. I also love writing oneshots like this. I may make a book of the Untamed oneshots at some point. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this oneshot! See you soon!
