Wrong Song
"Wake up, Lola!"
"Stella," I whine, as my older sister by eleven minutes drags me out of bed, "Please don't make me go."
My blonde sister shakes her head with a spiteful grin, "No way sister, this is your first day back from California, and you are not missing school."
I groan, before sitting up on the bed and looking at my sister, who was in my closet throwing a few outfits onto my bed before coming out with my school uniform and smiling in pride, "You would definitely look better wearing the red blazer, it will make your blonde hair pop out more," she nods, already in her fashion magic mindset, "Matched with the light blue babydoll camisole, school required skirt, lace-up boots, and stockings."
Stella squeals before shoving me into our bathroom and shutting the door. I smile at my dramatic sister before looking over the outfit. It is cute.
"Don't forget to wear a plaid headband!" I hear my sister scream through the door.

Stella and I were currently walking down the halls of Horris Mantis Academy, as we looked at my schedule.
Stella pointed at my third class with a smile, "Hey, you and I have Spanish and study hall together."
I smile, "At least I share two of my classes with someone I know."
Stella rolls her eyes at me, "Don't be ridiculous. Joe, Kevin, and Nick are like family. You should have seen how excited they were to hear you were coming back."
I blush, the boys were like my best friends when I lived in New Jersey. We had known each other since we were babies. I can't believe I almost forgot about them.
I was so busy thinking about the boys that I didn't realize Stella had snatched my schedule, "Look! You and Kevin are in P.E. together, and Joe shares dance with you. That will be funny," Stella laughs at me.
I laugh, remembering the last time Joe danced when we were younger. I guess he is still terrible, "Do you know where my first class is?"
Stella nods, "Biology is on the second floor," Stella furrows her eyebrows as she rereads my schedule, "You are in all honors?"
I nod my head.
Stella smiles as she looks behind me before shouting, "Nick will take you!"
I turn around to see Nick Lucas, my old best friend who was know a famous rockstar, closing his locker as he looks at my embarrassing sister before looking down at me. I watch as he stands near his locker looking at me like a deer caught in headlights.
When did he become so attractive? Last time I saw Nick we were eleven years old and he wore braces and superman t-shirts. Now he was older and more mature. I feel my cheeks begin to redden, as I try to push away my thoughts.
He seems to shake off his original shock as he walks over to my sister and I. Nervously pushing a blonde lock of hair behind my ear, I send him a smile, not knowing what to do when you see your childhood bestie who is now a cute and famous singer.
"Hey guys" Nick greeted us, clutching his messenger bag to his side.
I awkwardly play with the red streak of hair, my sister and I got when I returned back from Miami, "Nick. Long time no see."
He laughs, scratching the back of his head before extending his hand out to me at the same time that I move to give him a hug. I immediately switch to give him a hug back at the same time he holds his hand out. I blush before backing away, as Nick does the same before he gives me a simple wave.
Stella looks at us strangely before shaking her head with a small smile directed at Nick, "Lola and you share Biology, English, and Math. so I was thinking you could show her around for her morning class on her first day," Stella told me, causing my with look at her with wide eyes. I was not prepared to share three classes with Nick after my awkward showdown a few seconds ago.
Nick smiles at me, almost sending me a wave of calamity, "No problem."
Stella smiles at the two of us before smirking, "Great! I gotta find Macy. See you at lunch," and with that, she shoved me towards Nick and ran off.
My eyes widened as I tried to stabilize myself before I fell into Nick but to no avail, I fell straight into the curly-haired singer.
To my surprise, Nick caught me in his arms with ease, tightly holding me to his chest before giving me a light shove back to my feet. If my cheeks were red before they are scarlet now.
"Thanks," I say, pulling a strap on my bag closer to my shoulder.
Nick shook his head, letting out a light laugh, "No problem."
We begin walking to our first class and easily fall into conversation. I forgot how easy it was to talk to him. It didn't feel forced, we were just having a natural conversation.
"So how was California?"
I smile thinking back to the warm state, "It was amazing. The beaches. The dancing," I laugh as I notice Nick staring at me with a small smile, "What? Why are you looking at me like that?"
Nick shook his head, his smile falling off his face, although he still wasn't frowning, "Nothing, it just seems like you had a great time. Why would you leave?"
I nudge him with my shoulder, "I missed you guys," I blush before trying to clarify, " You know Kevin, Stella, you, and Joe."
Nick's smile slowly fades away before he turns to a classroom, "This is us."

Nick and I were sitting together outside in the small courtyard at school between classes, while I listened to him tell me about everything I missed.
"I can't believe you guys are like famous now," I laugh as I listen to him play his guitar, "You are living your dream."
Nick tries to play cool, "I mean it honestly isn't that impressive."
I roll my eyes at him, "Nick you are a rockstar."
Nick smiles at me, as he leans in a bit, causing my heart to flutter, "I mean, I bet I could teach you a few chords right now."
I falter, trying to move through my hazy state and come up with a reply.
Nick smirks before sitting closer to me and bring the guitar over my head and letting it rest on my lap.
I blush at our close proximity as I feel Nick lean into my, "So you place your hands like this," I feel his warm breath on my ear as he brings my hands up to the guitar, "And then you move them down here."
I do as he says and smile when I heard the first chord play. I turn to look at him with a silly smile, "I did it."
Nick mimics my grin as he nods, "Yeah, you wanna learn another?"
I excitedly nod, bringing my hand back to the guitar as he instructs me. I can't lie when I say I enjoyed our position more than learning how to play.
I giggle as I play the second chord again and then the first. Playing them over and over again, as a sort of song.
Nick smiles at me, once I stop, "Now you are a rockstar."
I laugh, "Funny. I think people will notice my amateur status when I only play two chords."
Nick shakes his head, "Look, the trick is, look really bored when you play," Nick takes the guitar from me, and raises his eyebrows before beginning to play.
The song was super simple, but he showed no emotion throughout the entire song. In the end, he stops to yawn, causing me to let out a small laugh.
"Nick?" I hear the voice of the oldest Lucas brother who was feigning shock, as he pulled his younger brother in his arms.
"Didn't see you out here," Joe said, slapping him on the back.
"Oh really? Because the whole thing is glass and we're the only 2 people in here," Nick glared at his two brothers.
"This is glass?" Joe questioned, acting dumb. "And look who is with you: Lola Cola."
I wince at the terrible nickname, before walking up to give Nick and Kevin a hug, "I missed you all."
I laugh as Kevin picks me up in the air before setting me back down, "As you should."
I turn to look at Nick and see his lips clamped together as he sent Kevin a death glare. I furrow my eyebrows at his change in mood but don't comment.
"No wonder Nicky was in such a good mood in our last class," Joe smirks, wrapping an arm around his brother, who swats him away.
Kevin nods with a devilish smile, "He wouldn't shut up about this girl-"
I feel my cheeks redden.
"No, I wasn't," Nick grumbles. He seemed to be in a completely different mood than the one he was in before his brothers came. I wonder why he was getting so upset.
"It was non stop," Joe laughed.
"No, it's not. I apologize their juvenile behavior," Nick said, while I just laugh at the three of them. They haven't changed.
"Hey, I can apologize for my own juvenile behavior, thank you very much," Kevin said with a scoff.
"Are these clowns bothering you?" Stella asked from behind me. I grin at my sister.
"No more than they did before," I wink at the boys.
"Yes" Nick dryly replied.
"No," Kevin and Joe said in unison.
"Leave the guy alone. He's catching up with Lola. I think he deserves a little privacy" Stella told the boys, giving them a pointed look. Does she know about my crush?
"Ok. See you at home," Kevin said before they left.
Nick smiled at me, before nodding at my sister, "Thanks, Stell."
She shakes her head, "No problem," I was waiting for her to leave but instead, she pulls me to towards the door, "Bye Nick."
I look at my sister shocked as she begins to grill me with questions before I turn back at Nick with a small frown before I wave goodbye.

The next day Stella, Macy, and I were walking down the stairs, after leaving our Spanish class. Stella was trying out a new invention called Stell-Cro (patent pending) that would allow her to not have to make a new outfit anytime a fan ruined one of the brothers' outfits.
"This jacket is a little stiff," Macy complained. I send her a sorry smile, knowing that she was probably not enjoying wearing their clothes anymore.
Once we make it to the bottom of the stairs Stella turns to Macy and me, "Oh yeah, I'm still trying to work on a softer thread for the seam, Oh I know you pretend you're one of the Jonas Brothers and-"
My eyes widen as I look at Macy begin to freak out, "Oh golly which one should I be?"Macy asked before running up and down the hallway pretending to be each brother. I knew she said she was a fan but, I didn't know how much she loved them until now.
I look at my sister in amusement before joking, "What do you do Just follow them around all day?"
"No Pft," Macy scoffs before looking around, "Why do they see me?"
My jaw drops in disbelief.
"Okay, You're a Jonas And I am a Crazed Fan..." Stella trialed off before screaming like a crazed fan and running to Macy. My hands fly up to my face as I watch Stella completely rip off Macy's entire top.
Everyone in the hallway stops walking as they look at her.
"Hey, Nothing to see here," I yell, running to stand in front of Macy.
"Hey!" Macy said offended.
"Sorry," I wince realizing what my words conveyed.

I was hanging out with Kevin and Joe since Stella had to meet with one of her teachers this morning. Joe and I stood near Kevin's locker as he put his books away.
"I'm thinking of someone...20 questions, go," Joe told us.
"Is it someone famous?" I asked.
"Yes"
Kevin smiles, "Is it me?"
"No" Joe rolls his eyes.
"Is it Will Smith?" I guess.
"I was going to say that" Kevin playfully glared at me before turning to Joe, "Judge."
I raise my hand to my chin as I pretend to ponder the case while Joe does the same. I look at Kevin with a wise expression, "Judge rules, Lola as the winner."
"Lola wins the first round," Joe raises his hands in innocence.
While Kevin just sighs, "Hard call."
Joe and I nod along, with fake disappointment.
Kevin closes his locker, handing each of us an ice-cold smoothie. Joe and I take it before trying to look in his locker and see where he got them from, but Kevin closes his locker too soon.
"Ok, I got one," Kevin said. "I'm thinking of something and it's an animal."
"An Otter playing a trumpet" Joe answers.
My eyes widen in shock. How did he do that?
"Wow we know each other so well," Kevin said.
Joe spins on his heels, stopping to face Kevin and I, "Do you see that?" Joe points to Kevin.
Kevin looks around before shaking his head at Joe, "I see a lot."
Joe shakes his head with a sigh, "No sign of Nick. He must be taking things slow this time."
I furrow my eyebrows in confusion, "What is he taking slow?"
The boys look at me in pity, causing me to repeat myself.
"Poor innocent Lola," Kevin sighs, wrapping his arm around me before Joe pats my back and says, "In 3, 2, 1..."
"Excuse me! Coming through! Watch out!"
I turn my head to look at Nick running through the crowd of students, a guitar in one hand and papers flying around the hallway.
"Hey, Nick," I smile at the curly-haired Lucas boy.
Nick just smiles at me, pulling me away from his brothers who are shouting something indiscernible. We enter the glass container before Nick sits us down on the bench, "I wrote a song, and I want you to hear it."
I feel my heart flutter a bit, "What?" I knew that I shouldn't have gotten so flustered by the thought of him wanting me to hear his song. Nick could write a song before breakfast and it would be a big hit. So why did I think this song was special?
"I hope that's alright," Nick frowns.
I lightly place my hand over his, trying to ignore the butterflies that flutter in my stomach at the touch, "That is awesome."
Nick smiles at me, running his hand through his hair before I squeeze his hand, "Well, I wanna hear it."
You
You're like driving on a Sunday
You
You're like taking off on Monday
You're like a dream
Dream come true
I
Just a face you never notice
I
Just trying to be honest with myself
With you
With the world
You might think
That I'm a fool for falling over you
So tell me what can I do
To prove to you
That's it not so hard to do
Give love a try
One more time
'Cause you know that I'm on your side
Give love a try
One more time
Yeah, yeah
Ooh
I smile once the song is done, "I love it, and I'm sure whoever you wrote it for will love it even more"

Stella and I stood next to Macy as we tested out her invention for the last time. I turned to look at the brothers, especially eyeing the one brother who had been ignoring me ever since he played me his song.
I don't know what I did to upset Nick, ut ever since I told him his song was good, he had been sulking around the school, making sure to avoid me.
"Now the final test is to see if you're Average Fan..." Stella looked at Macy who couldn't contain her excitement as she faced the Jonas brothers. "Can tell which is the Stell-Cro garment"
Stella walked up to the brothers, "Two of the boys are wearing regular clothes while one is wearing Stell-Cro. I wanna see if you can tell which of the boys is gon-"
I gasp as Macy hurls herself at Joe, tearing his clothes apart, leaving him in barely any undergarments.
"Yeah but, That wasn't the one," Stella said.
Joe slowly began to back away before turning and running off followed a scared Kevin who screamed, "Who are you!?"
I giggle, looking at Nick who is sadly looking at me. I frown, tired of his mood, walking up to him.
I lean into his side before whispering, "At least she didn't attack you since you weren't wearing the Stell-Cro," I giggle, even though Nick was still frowning, "I would hate for anybody to see your Captain America underpants."
Nick rolled his eyes, trying to keep his intense demeanor, "That was one time in the third grade."
"Come on, Nick," I laugh, before placing my hand on his shoulder, "I thought they were cute."
Nick rolls his eyes before letting out a small laugh, and wrapping his arm around my shoulder and pulling me into a hug, "Whatever."
I lean my head on his shoulder as we walk off to out next period class.
