BakuDeku-Passing Papers(2)
Part 2/2
Katsuki didn't utter a word to Izuku over the next few days. He didn't stick around after detention to make conversation, either.
Izuku had been left puzzled over the last few nights, losing countless hours of concentration.
Despite what most of the population would think, Katsuki Bakugo was pretty tactical in terms of his behaviour.
He wasn't always docile in class, but he understood the concept of time, place and occasion.
In other words, he was a two-faced bitch that was lawful until he wasn't being observed by his superiors.
Izuku knew this, which is why it perplexed him-to say the least-that Katsuki was also in detention.
Katsuki would never deliberately allow himself to do anything drastic and get in trouble with the staff.
In fact, the only time Katsuki has ever faced the consequences of his actions was when they were both put on house arrest.
But then why would he do something so kind, then leave him asking questions?
Why was he avoiding him more than usual?
One thing's for sure; it was getting ridiculous.
Since Katsuki faithfully avoided Izuku in their free time, the curly-haired teen took it upon himself to corner him in the one place he couldn't escape-class.
Obviously, being the little bookworm he was, Izuku wasn't about to sacrifice his potential education for one of Katsuki's antics-and he wasn't going to be obnoxious about it, either.
He was, however, going to get some gosh-darn answers.
. . .
Everyone was filing into the classroom since the first period was about to begin.
Eijiro unlatched his arm from around Katsuki's shoulder as he made his way to his own seat.
Katsuki approached his desk, which was in the farthest left row.
He wasn't paying much attention, until he made out the foreign object that sat amongst his textbooks and stationery.
A small, neatly folded piece of notebook paper sat atop the surface of Katsuki's desk.
'Damn fuckers'
He thought, scowling.
He'd thought he made himself clear when he said he'd break some kneecaps if anyone dared to litter near his vicinity.
Half-ready to snatch the paper and interrogate every one of his classmates into the third period, he was halted on his own accord.
Upon closer inspection, he could make out the sickeningly familiar handwriting in green gel pen,
'To Kacchan, From Deku'
His eyelid twitched as he violently snatched the paper from his desk.
What was that idiot thinking? What if someone saw this and misinterpreted it?
Katsuki was about to toss it when their teacher walked in.
"Stand(Kiritsu), bow(Rei)!"
Tenya commanded.
The entire class promptly stood to greet their first teacher of the day.
Katsuki practically snarled.
He couldn't believe that he had to fucking wait.
He abruptly sat in his seat, fiddling with the paper between his fingers.
It was more than likely that that little nerd was sitting behind him, feeling satisfied that he'd taken the bait.
'Smug little bastard. I'll kill him for this'
He tightened his grip on the note, still refraining from tearing it to shreds. Katsuki glared at the note, his crimson pupils boring holes into the thin paper if they could.
He let out a deep, frustrated sigh before impatiently unfolding the paper, beholding its contents.
'What?'
. . .
Izuku anxiously fiddled with the hem of his shirt, hoping that Katsuki would actually show up. He was on the roof of the dormitory, which was usually off-limits for students. It wasn't all that difficult to make his way up there, being the bearer of One For All and all. One thing to take into consideration next time would be the pipeline; if there is a next ti–
"Hey,"
Izuku's gaze snapped up in alarm to meet a more threatening one.
"You gonna tell me why you called me here or not?"
Katsuki growled.
Izuku stiffened his posture, staring Katsuki right in the eye.
He took a deep breath and slowly opened his mouth-- but nothing came out.
In fact, not a single string of letters even struck his thoughts. Just what exactly did he plan on asking Katsuki?
'Hey, why did such a trash-spitting delinquent like yourself have detention?'
Surely, there was another reason as to why Izuku asked him to come, other than that of mere curiosity. Rather, Izuku didn't think Katsuki would actually show up.
"Um..." he tugged at his own collar.
"W-Why did you get me...The thing?"
Katsuki arched a brow.
"Since when did you become so fuckin' discreet, damn nerd?"
"I-I–"
"Tch!" Katsuki broke eye-contact with the shorter teen, looking over the edge of the roof.
"Because I wanted to fucking apologise."
Izuku's eyes glistened in surprise.
"W-Wha? Apologise for what?"
"What the hell do you think? All of the bullshit I put you through suddenly slip your thick skull?"
Katsuki snapped.
"N-No... I just... Why now? Why a package? Why not say it to my face?"
"Because I want to spare myself the dreaded look of pity you're gonna give me. I don't need, nor do I want you to tell me that everything's fine. I just want us to be fucking even."
"What do you know about me to make that assumption?"
Izuku's tone was uneven but stern.
"Sure, we were close as kids but we haven't been that way for years! I've changed, and you've been too close-minded to notice! I don't pity others for the heck of it. And the truth is, everything is not fine. Because you think that when and how I choose to forgive you is your decision to make. We're not even; because I've long forgiven you and moved on! It's time you do the same!"
"Deku."
"What?"
"Shut up,"
Before Izuku could react, his waist was pulled swiftly into a warm embrace. Katsuki buried his nose in the crook of The shorter's neck, taking in every bit of his presence. Their chests rose and fell against one another, until they were breathing in unison. Izuku felt himself grow warmer, and out of force of habit, his hands met and clasped at the centre of Katsuki's back.
"K-Kacchan? What are you doing?"
"Moving on."
His words pressed against Izuku's collarbone; the vibrations enough to make Izuku's knees buckle.
"I-If that's the case, may I ask you something?"
Katsuki loosened his grip, backing up a bit to meet Izuku's eyes.
"What is i–"
Izuku squeezed his eyes shut as if he were bracing himself for a punch to the face.
Catching the blonde completely by surprise, Izuku stole his esteemed rival's precious first kiss.
It was only a peck, but Katsuki wasn't about to leave it at just that.
Not at all.
Izuku let out a light squeak when he realised it was going to be a little while longer than anticipated before he could take another breath.
Katsuki grabbed ahold of the base of his neck, pulling Izuku towards himself to deepen the kiss. He wasn't simply planning on a couple of pecks, though. He'd waited too long for this for the nerd get away with just that.
His hand snaked its way up Izuku's loose-fitted shirt, so he could feel every crevice and cut the teen was hiding from him. He was as bulky as he expected, seeing as he'd been training mercilessly for the longest while now.
He wasn't scrawny and useless anymore.
This specimen was actual competition. One of many reasons that Katsuki wasn't effortlessly soaring above the pack like before. This person was surpassing him.
But not right now.
Right now, he had the upper hand.
"K-Kacch...an." The green-haired boy huffed against Katsuki's lips.
The blonde showered gentle kisses from the side of Izuku's mouth, all the way to the base of his jaw.
Katsuki got the hint, giving the nerd one last playful peck on the neck.
Izuku caught his breath, straightening his T-shirt and drying the sides of his mouth.
"W-What was that for?"
"I could be asking you the same damn thing."
Katsuki folded his arms, looking diverting his gaze.
Izuku smiled softly, clutching his chest through the fabric of his shirt.
"It just...Felt right. It's what my heart was telling me to do."
Katsuki didn't physically react, but in his mind, he was smiling like an absolute dumbass.
"We should go back. That glasses might've sent a search team out by now."
He said flatly, before turning on his heel and making his way towards the side of the building.
"Wait!"
Izuku called.
Katsuki turned to see a look of what he thought was worry plastered across Izuku's face.
"What? You know that I can get off by myself, ri?-"
"W-What were you in detention for?"
Katsuki froze, before turning away and kicking his right leg over the edge of the building.
"Passing notes."
