5.) "Did you know that water has memories?"
She shuts the door behind her, after waving goodbye to her teachers till she couldn't see them anymore, and locks it. Mana claps.
"Alright time to clean up," she says, using her quirk to grab all the dishes and wash them.
Kota comes downstairs and into the living room to grab crayons. Laughter bellows out from the living room right after he enters the room. "Bahahaha! You look so stupid!"
Only after she gets everything in the dishwasher does she return to the living room. "Oh!" Her eyes widen at seeing Bakugo there fuming as Kota laughs. "Sorry, I forgot I bound you with my quirk!" She releases her quirks hold on him. "Kota go ahead and go back upstairs."
He snickers, grabbing the crayons and darting upstairs.
After getting his bearings back, Bakugo quickly gets up from the couch. "You fucking bitch!" Bakugo's hands crackle around him as he stomps up to her. "What the fuck was that for?! Do you want to die?!"
She puts a finger to her chin in thought. "Hmmm... Well, at least not until Kota grows up."
Bakugo's face scrunches up in confusion as all the anger seeps out of him. His quirk stops as his body relaxes. He seriously can't get a read on this girl. "You're a freak, you know that?"
"I've been called that before. Nothing new. Is it cause of how I look?" She lifts her hands to look at her blue skin. "Is it because of my blue skin and weird eyes? I guess I am pretty freaky compared to others like you and Kota."
Bakugo sneers. "No, it's because I can't figure you out."
She smiles, dropping her hands to her side. "That's a good thing then, isn't it?"
He rolls his eyes as he crosses his arms. "I'm leaving."
"No! You can't! Sensei said that you aren't allowed to leave," she says. "So you have to stay here until tomorrow!"
He groans. "I really fucking hate you."
She shrugs. "Guess we'll have to work on that. Anyways, Kota's working on homework, so we should set an example and do the same."
"Whatever."
"Plus, you can help me with it because I have no idea what I'm doing! OO! After we can watch movies! Or or we can do face masks, a board game, or play video games!"
His eye twitches. "Fine! Just shut up! Your voice is obnoxious!"
"Well, so is your screaming all the time, but I don't ever say anything about it," she retorts.
His hands begin to make little explosions. "Do you wanna fucking die?!"
"I already answered that question, silly. Come up with something more original," she says, moving by him to her bookbag for homework. "Now, come on! Let's get this homework done, so we can get to the fun stuff!"
〰️〰️〰️
After a few hours, it begins to get dark outside and all three of them finished their schoolwork. Kota finished his about 30 minutes in the UA students study and came downstairs to watch tv.
"I'm hungry again," Kota sighs, slumping over onto the couch's armrest.
Mana looks at the time on her phone. "It's 6:36, I should get started on dinner then! Oh, Kota, how about you show Kacchan to the bathroom? You two should have a bath. Kinda forgot we're kinda stinky from the attack today." She looks at Bakugo at this. "Not that you stink! You oddly smell really nice sweaty, but you would probably want a shower or something. You can take one first then I'll fill a bath for Kota while I get dinner ready. I'll set some sleep clothes and a clean towel on the counter for you."
Bakugo just blankly stares at her for a second before blinking followed by a nod. "Okay." He gets up from the floor as Kota grumpily leads him to the bathroom.
She chuckles, getting up herself and heading into the kitchen to get started. Kota comes stomping down the stairs once his task is finished.
His arms are crossed as he enters the kitchen. "I don't like him."
"Kota, you don't like anyone. You gotta give em a chance."
"Hmph," he huffs, pouting his lips and furrowing his eyebrows.
"I know his outward self is harsh, but maybe he's not like that when you break his walls down. I'm sure the two of you will get along great eventually," Mana smiles as she cuts green onions. "Wanna help me make udon?"
"Yeah!"
"Then get the chicken we just bought out from the fridge," she says. "Set everything up, okay? I'm going to get Kacchan some clothes." She sets the chopped onions aside before heading upstairs to find a towel and some clothes that would fit Bakugo's stature. She knocks on the door to the bathroom. "Kacchan? I'm gonna set the clothes on the counter, okay?" She cracks the door open just enough to drop the things on the counter before heading back downstairs.
"Everything is out and ready," Kota reports.
She smiles, ruffling the top of his head. "Good job. Let's get started."
〰️〰️〰️
Bakugo enters the kitchen, holding the shirt given to him along with his UA uniform. "The shirt was too tight."
Manami spins around, holding the spoon she's using to stir. Her cheeks flush. "Th-That's okay! I mean—Ah, sorry, my brother wasn't the biggest or t-tallest guy. That's-That's the biggest shirt I could find..."
"No!" Kota shouts.
The two look down to the little boy.
"What's wrong, Ko?"
"He can't wear dad's stuff! I don't want him too! They're dad's clothes!" Kota shouts before racing upstairs.
"What's his problem?" Bakugo asks.
"Don't you remember? I told you that his father, my brother, was killed. He's still kinda sensitive about it. I don't blame him," she sighs sadly. "Help yourself to the udon. It's finished." She leaves him, not catching his response, and heads to Kota's room. She knocks. "Kota?" She tries to open the door to find it locked.
"Go away!" Is his tearful, shaky response.
Mana manipulates water to open the door before heading inside. She silently makes her way over to his hunched over, crying form on his bed. He's hiding under the covers in the fetal position. Mana gently sits beside him.
"Kota, he's not going to keep the pants. He's just borrowing them. I promise."
"I don't want him to wear dad's things!"
"How about this? You can wear the shirt, and you can have as much ice cream after dinner and a bath."
His sniffles calm down. "Pwomise?"
"Yeah, now come on out and let's go eat, yeah?"
"Okay..." He pulls himself out from under the covers and into her embrace. She hugs him back, leaning her head on his. "I miss him and mom."
"I miss them too." She kisses his head. "Would you like to see them?"
He sniffles, pulling back. "Yeah..."
Mana nods. She releases him and opens the small bedside table. She looks over a few of the glass jars full of water, picking out a particular one. She opens it, manipulating the water inside. After a few seconds, it begins to glow and form into Kota's parents.
The water shows the two sitting on the very bed they're on, wishing a Kota goodnight and telling him that they love him. Then the water returns to when Mana started to manipulate it. She makes it return to the jar, putting the lid back on it and placing it back in the drawer.
She wipes Kota's tears away and kisses his forehead before getting up. "You come down when you're ready. I'll make you a bowl. We'll be at the table."
He nods but doesn't respond as she leaves the room and heads back downstairs. She gets food into two bowls and joins Bakugo at the table, placing Kota's bowl at an open seat.
"He good?"
"Yeah, he'll be down in a few."
He looks at her. "Don't you need to shower too?"
She perks up. "Oh! Right!" The outer layer of Mana ripples and drops to the floor. Her body returns to normal and she manipulates the discarded water into the kitchen sink. "Done!"
Bakugo blinks. "What the fuck?"
"Oh." She laughs. "I forgot. I'm made of water, so I just discard the bit of water that the air has touched. It's kinda like the outermost layer of skin in a way."
"Freak."
〰️〰️〰️
After Kota has a bath and eats his fill of ice cream, he's tucked into bed by 8:16.
"Alright! Let's do face masks!" Mana smiles with a clap.
"Fuck no."
She grabs his wrist and drags him to the bathroom anyway, sitting him down on the toilet. "Green tea or honey?" she asks, holding up two packs of face masks.
He rolls his eyes. "I told you no."
"Green tea it is," she says, ignoring him and opening the packets. "Oh! Almost forgot!" She kneels down to the cabinet below and pulls out two headbands. "These are to keep your hair out of your face, so your hair won't get any on it." She slides it on her head before placing the other on Bakugo. She smiles. "You look good with your hair back like this." She manipulates the goo inside each packet and spreads it over their faces.

Bakugo's right eye twitches. "Get this shit off my face before I kill you."
"Oh don't be like that."
"I don't need this stupid shit on my face," he scoffs. "I don't get acne."
Her eyes widen and blinks. "I..."
"Why do you look stupid? ...More stupid than usual?"
She grasps his shoulders. "I thought I was the only one!" She shakes him back and forth with tears streaming down her cheeks. "Since I'm made of water, I don't get acne either!"
"Then why put on these stupid face masks?!"
She shrugs. "Cause it's fun." Her face brightens. "Ooh! Let me braid your hair!"
"No, and my hair isn't long enough for that anyway," he scoffs.
"Pish posh! You kidding? It's perfect length for some French braids!"
He swats her hands away. "Don't touch me."
She pouts. "What you got something better to do?"
His right eye twitches. "No thanks to you."
She grins. "Turn around, so I can."
He does and closes his eyes while she brushes back his hair. His body seems to relax as she runs her fingers through his hair to check for any more knots. "This feels nice..." he mutters.
Mana smiles to herself as she continues. If there's one thing she knew about men is that they love head and back scratches. She lightly drags her nails across his scalp, and he almost melts as he lets his head move as her hands do. He lets out a relaxed breathy sigh. She chuckles and begins braiding his hair.
After a few minutes, she finishes and ties it off with a small rubber hair tie.
"All done!"

Bakugo reaches up and runs his fingers along the braid before standing up and looking at himself in the mirror. "I don't... hate it."
"I'm glad. So, how about netflix and ice cream?"
"Can you teach me how to do this?" he asks, still looking at the braids in the mirror.
"Sure!" She grabs his left wrist and drags him down the steps. She leads them over to the couch, sitting him down on the couch. She sits down on the floor between his legs with her back to him. "First things first, do you know how to braid?"
"How the fuck would I know how to braid?"
She chuckles, turning the tv on to netflix. "Well, I don't really know you all too well. Who knows if you had a sister or someone that taught you? Anyway, I'll teach you how to braid normally before doing the French braid." She chooses a random movie to play in the background.
〰️〰️〰️
A few hours later, Bakugo finally learns how to braid and French braid, giving Manami a perfect French braid down the center of her head.
"Finally," he scoffs, tying off the end with a small rubber band. He proudly looks at his handy work.
She reads the clock to see it read 10:43. "It's getting late. Wanna head to bed or watch another movie?"
Bakugo looks to the time as well. "It's passed my bedtime. I'm going to bed."
She yawns. "Sounds like a plan." She sleepily blinks. "So what do you wanna do tomorrow?"
"I'm fucking going home," he answers, getting up from the couch.
She follows behind him up the stairs to the bedrooms. "You can't unless one of your parents pick you up."
He scoffs. "Like they could give me any protection. I'm capable of taking care of myself." He stops in front of his assigned room for the night.
"Well, my room is this one if you need anything, big guy," she yawns, patting him on his back which he shrugs off. She passes him with a tired smile. "Goodnight, Kacchan."
His eye twitches. "Don't call me that, aquagirl."
"Okay, Katsu," she responds, disappearing into her room. "Goodnight."
〰️〰️〰️
A loud cry wakes Bakugo up from his slumber. He tiredly sits up, looking at the time on his phone as he becomes alert. 4:29.
He listens, hearing another shout. He throws the blankets of the bed off of him, racing out the room quickly. He listens for the cries again, only to hear nothing. He waits a few minutes for any change.
Manami comes out of Kota's room, quietly shutting the door behind her. She jumps back a little at finding Bakugo creepily standing in the middle of the hallway. Not that she didn't know he was there, but the zoned out look on his face was a bit creepy.
"Katsu?"
He blinks at her, looking to the door to Kota's room. "What happened?"
"Nightmare," she sadly sighs. "He's okay now. He's asleep again."
"Nightmares?"
"Yeah, the villain that killed my brother haunts his dreams. He calms down after I show him a memory." She yawns, rubbing her eyes.
"Memory?"
"Did you know that water has memories?"
"What?"
"I'm sure you noticed all the plants I have around the house as well as all the glasses of water," she says, moving to a nearby plant on a table. She manipulates the water from the glass sitting next to it. It glows and forms into Bakugo and herself and their whole conversation before they went to bed.
Bakugo takes a step back. "Whoa."
The memory finishes and she returns the water back to the glass. "All of these glasses are my water. It's to help and notify me if any intruders enter the house while we're sleeping. It also helps when I can't train. My body constantly produces water, so I need to get rid of it. Watering plants and filling up these glasses help with that."
"I thought you were a dumbass," he blurts out.
She chuckles. "I just know a lot about water. I'm not really that smart."
Bakugo looks at her before making a grunt and turning back to his room. "Going back to sleep."
🌊💧🌊💦🌊
The next morning, Bakugo is the first to wake up. He's used to being the first awake though. He looks at the time on his phone. 10:47. He slept in more than he usually does. Yesterday must've exhausted him more than he thought it did. He stretches before doing a short little work out. Push ups, sit ups, and other small excercies before leaving the room.
He's quick to notice that he's the only one up as he heads into the kitchen. It's been an hour since he woke up. The explosion boy sighs. He may as well make breakfast to repay that water girl for lunch and dinner yesterday.
〰️〰️〰️
Manami wakes up, blearily blinking her eyes repeatedly. She stretches, popping her shoulders as she releases a loud body shaking groan. She's quick to smell something cooking, and it smells really good. Like mouthwatering good. She sits up and shuffles downstairs to find her guest and nephew cooking together in the kitchen.
"Good morning, boys."
〰️〰️〰️
Bakugo gets the ingredients he wants together, deciding on what to make after figuring out all the stuff she has to cook. The pitter patter of feet makes him turn to the entrance of the kitchen.
Kota stands in the doorway with an annoyed scowl. "Oh, you're still here," he scoffs, rolling his eyes and crossing his arms. "Why are you ruining our kitchen?"
Bakugo's eye twitches. "Alright, you little shit... Yeah, I'm still fucking here. Fucking deal with it. I'm gonna be here all day, so get over yourself. I'm making breakfast for your aunt."
Kota clicks his tongue. "You look like you'll just burn it."
"Do you want to fucking die?!"
"Do you?" Kota retorts with a smirk. "Kill me, and Manami will kill you. Twice as much cause you're cussing in front of me."
"Tch. Whatever. Get over here and show me where the pots and pans and shit is."
〰️〰️〰️
The two boys whirl around, not hearing her until she spoke.
"Mornin', aquagirl. Nice bedhead," Bakugo says, returning to what he was doing before.
"Could say the same to you," she replies, moving up beside him to look at the food. "Smells good."
"Obviously, I made it."
"Didn't know you could cook."
"I'm surprised a dumbass like you can," he continues.
She shrugs. "Had to learn cause I was alone so much."
Bakugo doesn't respond to that, lost in thought.
"We made you breakfast, Mana-oba!" Kota grins up at her, tugging on her shirt.
She ruffles his hair with a smile. "I can't wait to eat it."
"It'll be done in a few minutes," Bakugo huffs. "Get plates and whatever."
"No, no. I'll be at the table. I haven't had someone make me breakfast for many many years. Kota, you get the plates for us."
"Okay!"
She smiles and skips off to the table.
"The plates are up in that cabinet," Kota points to one of the upper nearby cabinets. "You get them. I can't reach." He shuffles in the utensil drawer to take them to the table. "We're waiting."
"Don't treat me like I'm your fucking maid!" Bakugo whisper shouts.
Kota evilly giggles, sticking out his tongue out at him before making his way over to set the table.
〰️〰️〰️
"So, we didn't really get to watch movies last night," Mana speaks up as they laze around after breakfast. "Wanna do that?"
The three are resting on the big couch.
Bakugo scoffs. "I don't wanna be trapped in this house all day!"
Mana pouts her lips in thought. "Hmm, we can't go anywhere. There's really not much to do here. So, really all there is to do is watch tv."
"I'm going to play video games," Kota says as he heads upstairs to his room.
"How about we watch an anime I've been wanting to watch?" Manami says, moving to get the remote.
He crosses his arms and slumps onto the couch. "Whatever."
Manami smiles as she pulls up Netflix. "The girls at my middle school would talk about this anime a lot, and I never really had time to watch it cause I was either training or taking care of Kota or schoolwork. It got popular again cause it recently got put on Netflix."
Bakugo reads the title that she selects. "Maid-sama? Sounds dumb."
"Maybe it is," Mana shrugs as she starts the first episode. "Guess we'll find out."
〰️〰️〰️
Mana looks to Bakugo as the first episode ends.
"Well, what are you waiting for?! Play the next episode!" Bakugo shouts annoyed.
Mana giggles, pressing the button for the next episode. "Alright, alright. Pfft. Who knew you are such a romance softie?"
He scoffs. "Who said that?!"
"It's written all over your face!"
"Bullshit!"
"Hmmm... I bet you have romance manga in your room that you secretly read." Her grin gets bigger as he remains silent and avoids her gaze. She laughs. "Am I right?! Aww! That's so cute! Katsu! Aww! You're going to spoil your future girlfriend!" She continues to laugh as his face gets redder, face becomes more pouty, and squeezing his crossed arms tighter.
"Shut up! The next episode is playing!"
And that's how Kota found them hours later. He was curious why he wasn't called for lunch earlier. They were just engrossed in the anime.
"Mana-oba?" he calls out, drawing their attention. "I'm hungry."
Mana looks at the time. "WHOA! Katsu! It's time for dinner!"
Bakugo scoffs as his stomach growls. "Yeah."
"Leftovers?"
