2.) "Your old school put a stick up your ass or were you born with it?"
Manami runs to her classroom. She slides to a stop, swinging the door open. "Wooo! Just made it in time!"
She was a bit late today as she woke up late then had to take Kota to school.
"Izumi..." Iida mutters to himself a bit glad seeing that she's in his class.
"Hello everyone! I'm Izumi Manami! Please call me Manami or Mana or Nami. Anything but Izumi! I hate honorifics! So I hope you don't mind if I call you by your first names too!"
"Hi!" a bubbly pink girl replies with a big grin. She's excited that she's not the only one with odd colored skin and so is Manami.
Some of her other new classmates give her smiles and 'hi's' while a few kept to themselves. That's fine, they're all probably pretty nervous. She moves off to her seat to find the blond boy from the entrance exam behind her.
"Ah! It's sparky sparky boom boom guy!" Manami smiles. "Hey, we both made it and sit together! It must be fate!"
He flinches. "Eh? Don't say weird shit!"
"Well, I told everyone my name, what's yours?"
"Why should I tell a useless extra like you?"
She sticks her tongue out. "No need to be so mean! I'm just trying to be nice."
He scoffs, kicking his feet up on his desk and earning a gasp from across the room.
"Take your feet off of that desk now!"
"Huuuh?" the blond grins, smugly looking up at the boy.
"It's the first day, and you're already disrespecting this academy by scuffing school property, you cretin!"
"You're kidding me right?" boom boy scoffs amused. "Your old school put a stick up your ass or were you born with it?"
Manami notices a broccoli haired boy peeking in the doorway. "Hmm?"
Glasses opens his mouth to retort but decides against it. "Let's start over, I'm Iida Tenya from the Somei Private Academy."
"Somei, huh?" boom scoffs. "So you must think you're better than me?" He leans closer in his direction. "I'm going to have fun tearing you a new one."
Iida gasps. "You would threaten me?! Your own classmate?! Are you sure you're in the right place?"
"Tch." Boom leans back with an annoyed look.
That's when the two boys notice broccoli.
"It's him," Iida says.
Then everyone in class turns their attention from the argument to the green haired boy in the doorway. In result, it makes broccoli panic with all the stares towards him. He averts his gaze nervously. "Uh, hii...!"
"Good morning!" Iida exclaims, awkwardly stomping towards the freckled boy. "My name is Iida Tenya fro–"
"Y-y-yeah... I know... I'm Midoriya Izuku. Super nice to meet you."
A short haired brunette soon appears behind them.
A yellow caterpillar man soon shows up and introduces himself as 1A's teacher, Aizawa Shota.
Everyone ends up heading to the locker rooms to change into their training clothes.
The pink girl from before moves up to Manami. "Hi! I'm Ashido Mina. You and me look alike. I got pink skin and you got blue! And we both have dark sclera! Mine is black though not navy. I can already tell we're going to besties!"
"Yeah! Nice to meet you Mina!"
All the students arrive at the field. Instead of going to orientation, they're going to do a quirk assessment test.
"Here at UA we're not tethered to tradition. That means I get to run my class however I see fit," Aizawa says. "You've been taking standardized tests for most of your lives, but you never got to use your quirks in physical exams before. The country's still trying to pretend we're all created equal by not letting those with the most power excel. It's not rational. One day the Ministry of Education will learn. Bakugo, you managed to get the most points in the entrance exam. What was your farthest distance throw with a baseball when you were in junior high?"
"67 meters," Bakugo answers.
"Alright, try doing it with your quirk."
He heads to the circle and does. The force of the blow creates circles of air as it soars through the sky and it pushes everyone on the ground back with a force of air.
"All of you need to know your maximum capabilities," Aizawa explains. "It's the most rational way of figuring out your potential as a pro hero."
He shows everyone his score. 705.2 meters.
Everyone gasps in surprise.
"Whoa! 705.2 meters?! Are you kidding me?" a blond with a black lightning bolt like streak comments.
"I wanna go! That looks like fun!" Mina cheers.
"This is what I'm talking about! We get to use our quirks as much as we want!" a boy with weird elbows comments.
"So this looks fun, huh?" Aizawa grunts. "You have three years here to become a hero. You think it's gonna be games and play time?" He grins. "Idiots. Today you'll compete in 8 physical tests to gauge your potential. Whoever comes in last has none and will be expelled immediately."
Everyone begins to complain how that isn't fair. Aizawa shoots them down and off they go to do the rest of the tests.
Test 1 is the 50 meter dash. The Iida boy obviously won that as he has a speed quirk. Bakugo got 4.13 seconds. Manami got 4.16 seconds. Midoriya got a measly 7.02. Though he wasn't the worst, some short purple dude got 10 seconds.
Test 2 was grip strength. Manami got 506.7kg by using her quirk. The winner was the tallest dude with the many arms with 540kg.
Test 3: Standing long jump. Manami cleared the sandbox.
Test 4: Repeated side steps. Manami got an average score on that. The little purple dude got the top score for that.
Test 5: Ball throw. Brunette girl wowed everyone by getting infinity as her score. That's just how her quirk works though. Manami got 625.4 meters. Everyone ends up taking it and the last up is Izuku.
"If Midoriya doesn't shape up soon, he's gonna be going home," Iida says.
Bakugo turns to him with an annoyed glare. "Huh? Of course he is! He's a quirkless loser!"
"Uh? He has a quirk!" Iida claims. "Did you not hear about what he did in the entrance exam?"
"Huh?"
Izuku moves to throw the ball and throws. It doesn't make it very far.
Aizawa stomps over towards the boy with his hair straight up and scarf swirling around him. "I erased your quirk," Aizawa speaks up. "The judges for this exam were not rational enough. Someone like you should never be allowed to enroll at this school."
"Wait, you did what to my—Uh–wah! Those goggles! I know you! You can look at someone and cancel out their powers! The Eraser hero: Eraserhead!"
"Eraser? Who's that?" the red head voices.
Everyone begins to murmur as Aizawa continues to talk to Izuku, but now nobody can hear them. His scarf captures Izuku and drawls him to him. Aizawa then releases his hold, his look returning to normal and walking off.
"I wonder if our teacher gave him some advice?" Iida wonders.
"He probably told him to start packing," Bakugo says.
It's a few seconds before Izuku decides to throw the ball. "Smaaaaash!"
Everyone gasps in awe as the harsh drawbacked blow washes over them. They see the result from Aizawa. 705.3 meters.
"He threw it over 700 meters!" lightning bolt shouts.
"Nice! He's finally showing us his true power!" brunette cheers.
"His finger appears to be broken now," Iida says. "Just like in the exam. His quirk is very odd."
"It wasn't a very pretty throw."
Bakugo is frozen in shock and anger with his mouth wide open. His palms begin to emit small explosions.
"Hey!" he angrily shouts, rushing towards Izuku. "Deku you bastard! Tell me how you did that or you're dead!"
"With... his quirk?" Manami answers confused.
Before he can reach him though, he's snagged back by Aizawa's scarf with his quirk erased.
"What?! Why the hell is your damn scarf... so strong?!" Bakugo grunts out.
"Because it's a capture weapon made out of carbon fiber and a special alloy. Stand down. It'd be wise to avoid making me use my quirk so much. It give me serious dry eye." He drops the bindings as he sees the boy calmed down.
Izuku stares at him and slowly shuffles around him before running off.
The other tests were distance run, seated toe touch, and situps.
Everyone gathers together to see their rank. Ponytail girl somehow ends up number one. Manami number 2. Half n half ends up number three. Bakugo gets 4th. Izuku gets dead last which was to be expected.
"Aaand I was lying," Aizawa says, turning off the results. "No one's going home." He grins sadistically. "That was just a rational deception to make sure you gave it your all in the tests."
"Whaaaat?!" everyone shouts.
"I'm surprised the rest of you didn't figure that out. I'm sorry, I guess I probably should've said something," ponytail admits.
"That was pretty nerve wracking, huh?" weird elbows says.
"Nah, I'm always down for a challenge," red hair responds with an eagerly raised fist.
"That's it, we're done for the day," Aizawa says, walking off. "Pick up a syllabus in the classroom. Read it over before tomorrow morning."
The rest of the day passes and soon Manami is on her way to pick up Kota from school.
