Enola walked beside Musa as they both skipped to Dowling's office. The girls were practically jumping at the chance to not have to eat in the crowded canteen, as both of them had quickly grabbed their meals and walked over to find the others who would surely be there.
"Sup," Musa started as they walked into the room, food in hand, "Is Bloom still pretending not to be upset by the gossip?"
Aisha had taken the old headmistress's assistant's place for the time being while they looked for a replacement. The water fairy claimed it was to help Bloom, but it couldn't be more obvious that she did it for her resume.
Enola smirked as her eyes glinted pink, "I know the answer to that question," she sang, before moving to sit on Aisha's desk, placing her food down beside her.
"Are you still pretending to not be dating your roommate's brother," Bloom shot back at Enola, whose head snapped to Aisha, who was looking down at her salad with a newfound interest.
Enola glared as she hissed, "Told the entire suite, did you," she sighed as she looked at the door, knowing Terra would be coming soon, "I don't want her knowing yet."
She had tried to tell Terra about them last night, even planned out how she would say it, and waited for the right moment. When she mentioned Sam, however, her entire attitude changed as she started talking about how terrible Sam was. She could tell that she still loved her brother, but it didn't make the mind fairy feel positive about Terra's reaction.
"Whose knowing what," Terra asked, as she walked into the room with her lunch in hand as well, causing the entire room to grow quiet. Luckily the earth fairy continued speaking, "Apart from Stella dreading, she's not dreading being outshined by her mum all day," she added.
Enola groaned as Stella's thoughts from this morning came back into her mind as she rubbed her face, "Don't start. She kept me up all night."
"You could enjoy that a little less," Musa laughed, as Terra tried to hide her smile, making a pucked expression.
"Could I?" Terra asked rhetorically, as she leaned against the file cabinet, "We'll have to see in the assembly."
The room grew silent as everyone looked at Bloom to see how she was feeling about the assembly. The girl had made her entire face hidden from the school the past few days as she tried to avoid any and all gossip about her being a changeling.
"You guys don't have to do this," Bloom began, breaking the silence, "Sit with me like I'm some loser mess. I'm fine. I'm fine," she insisted, before looking down at her yogurt, "I'm going to go finish my potions paper, so uh, see you later."
Everyone watched as Bloom awkwardly left the room, not looking back as she shut the door. Musa's eyes turned purple for a second as she smiled at the group, "For the record, she's not fine."

"Long time no see," Beatrix grinned, walking up to Enola as she walked with the other students to the assembly. The air fairy quickened her pace as she tried to catch up with the other, who was clearly not interested in talking to her. The red-haired girl had a plan, however, and Enola was a part of it.
Enola wore a fake smile as she didn't look over at her, "Not look enough."
If Enola could but Beatrix's aura in words, it would be the opposite of Sam's. She was constantly hiding things, making up plots, and thinking the worst of others. Plus, the fairy enjoyed her terrible deeds, relishing in her own ability not to get caught.
"That's debatable," Beatrix hummed before rolling her eyes as she noticed Enola attempt to ignore her, "You know this would be a lot easier if you acknowledged me."
"So why would I do that," Enola thought out loud as they finally approached the Great Hall. She internally let out a sigh of relief as she was so close to escaping Beatrix.
"Because mandatory assembly is a mandatory ditch," Beatrix stopped, grabbing Enola's arm so she would stop with her, "Now come on."
Enola yanked her arm from the pixie-like girl as she scoffed, "I told you I am not interested in your games, Beatrix."
"Too bad," Beatrix hummed, dropping her friendly facade as she approached the games, "Because I love a vigorous mind game."
"Well then, good luck," Enola smirked as she walked closer to the girl, crossing her arms over her chest, "Because mind games are my thing," she said as her eyes glowed pink.
Blinking away the magic surfacing in her eyes, Enola put on an angelic smile as she waved Beatrix farewell, "Nice talking to you, Bea," she giggled before skipping towards the seats.
Beatrix stood in shock, never having been played at her own game before. She was beginning to understand Rosalind's desire to win her over as she watched the honey-haired fairy innocently walk over to her friends, laughing at whatever they had just said.

Enola grinned, using her hair to curtain her blush as she sat between Terra and Sam. The former seemed to be enjoying her discomfort as he continued to playfully nudge his knee with her own. His thoughts were not as innocent, causing the mind fairy to bite her lip before she did anything stupid.
Pulling out her phone, Enola began typing a message for Sam to read, telling him to stop before his sister noticed.
'Stop, what? I am not doing anything other than enjoying my imagination.'
Enola rolled her eyes a she looked over at the cocky grin spread on his face. She didn't say anything more as she watched the Queen walk up to the stage.
"There we are," Luna smiled as she stood behind the podium, her grace exuding in every movement she made, "I, uh, always had a love-hate relationship with assemblies when I was Alfea. Loved getting out of class. Hated being lectured."
'I am starting to think you're actually into all this sneaking around. Is it...'
Sam's thought's stopped causing her to look at the boy in confusion, wondering what had happened, but all she did was raise his eyebrows at her before a smirk spread on his face, 'a kink?'
Enola now wished more than ever that she could communicate through her thoughts only like Dowling told her, as it was annoying to have to use her phone to talk back to Sam. Of course, in reality, her minor complaint about her not being able to broaden her powers was extremely childish as some people couldn't read minds; to begin with, it didn't stop her from wanting to.
Typing on her phone, she tilted the screen over, careful not to press the send button and cause his phone to go off.
Maybe. Meet me after assembly, and you'll see...
'Don't threaten me with a good time.'
Try and stop me.
"Musa," Terra spoke, causing the twin to jump as she was worried they had been caught. She watched as her sister talks to Terra about Stella. Glad that she hadn't been caught.
Enola began typing on her phone once again as she was about to start up the conversation. Just as she was about to move the screen over to Sam, her name was called out by Terra, causing the girl to jump once again before internally slapping herself for being so damn scary.
"Enola," Musa said this time, waving over her sister, "What is the faculty anxious about?"
Enola sighed, bringing her phone down, as she leaned back on her seat. Trying to relax as she looked for their voices amongst the crowd. Her eyes shot open as she heard snippets of their thoughts, although she struggled to hear Dowling's as she had been careful to create a wall.
"There was a murderer," Enola whispered, leaning in so all three of the girls could hear her, "And it was a fairy."
Enola began to nervously scratch her arm as her powers went on hyperalert. She was going through every student's mind, trying to see if there was any sign of whether that might be the murderer. So far, it appeared that nobody in the room was guilty.
Which made her mind begin to go to the few people that weren't at the assembly: Bloom and Beatrix.
"Conflict is on the horizon," Queen Luna announced, causing Enola to drop her suspicions for the time being as she looked up at the stage, "We are tracking at least five burned ones throughout Solaria. The threat is serious and growing."
All the girls turned to each other in shock. It made sense that Dowling was so upset with them. Imagine if the burned one was in a pack; it was unheard of but would be catastrophic if true.
The entire school began to mumble amongst themselves as their thoughts began to run wild. Everyone either wanted to leave the school, or they wanted to stay for protection. Nobody felt safe, however, which made Enola feel uncomfortable as every worst-case scenario ran through her mind.
"It is time," Queen Luna continued, "for all of you to pay attention."
After that, the assembly pretty much ended as nobody could listen to any more information today. All the students were a bit off. Some of them had tears streaking their faces as they desired to go back home.
Enola was more concerned about the thoughts of the faculty, who were still wondering who the murderer could be, meaning that they also didn't find any murderer's within the school. The mind fairy was finally able to use her powers to help people, and it sucked, as usual.
"They're on edge," Musa mumbled, as the girls stood together near the column, waiting as Enola and Musa kept tabs on the three adults, "Whatever they're doing, it's not going well."
"I don't sense anyone either," Enola confessed, "So I wonder who it could be."
"I hate to think it's true," Terra frowned, her thoughts filled with the discomfort of not being able to trust one of her classmates.
Aisha nodded her head, "Me either."
"Well, people can sometimes hide things really well," Musa began, her eyes flickering over to her sister, "Especially loved ones."
Enola squirmed in her spot as she avoided looking at the girls, her eyes faintly glowing pink as Musa's thoughts entered her mind. Neither girl had truly spoken about that day, despite the fact they needed to. That was Enola's fault.
"I'm going to go up to the suite," Enola excused, awkwardly looking over at Musa before she quickly walked away from the group. The other two fairies waved her goodbye, obviously not noticing how tense the twins were.
Just as Enola began walking over to the corridor parallel to the one she was once standing in, two arms pulled her to the side. She gasped as she felt two lips press against her own. The mind fairy immediately kissed back as Sam's thought's entered her mind, bringing her a sense of peace she truly needed.
Bringing her arm around his neck, she pulled herself closer to him as he walked them back to the wall they were near. The kiss was short but meaningful, filled with admiration and comfort.
"She almost caught us," Enola smiled as she pulled away to look at Sam, loving the way his hair swept across his forehead in a perfectly carefree manner.
Sam laughed, "Good," before pulling her back to him, deepening the kiss as his hands moved from her back to her waist, hooking his fingers in the loops of her shorts as he pressed their lips together.
Enola sighed into his mouth, her eyes glowing light pink color despite the fact they were closed. Her favorite thing about kissing Sam was how close they connected when they did. His thoughts seemed to be the only thing in her mind as they brought her a sense of calamity. She could probably just hear his thoughts and be just as happy.
"Sam," Enola sighed, pulling away once again as she remembered they were standing in an open hallway.
Sam pulled away as well, with a small sigh, "Weird kinks aside," he joked, brushing a stray hair off her face, "I really like you, and I want to do this in public."
Enola smiled before pulling him forward for a small peck before frowning, "And I like you to, but it's not just Terra. If the whole school finds out we're a thing, then I have to hear it all. The good and bad."
Sam frowned as he pressed an open-mouthed kiss on her forehead before pressing his head against hers, "I know you have to hear it, but do you have to care?"
"I wish I didn't," Enola frowned. She wanted to be as strong as Sam, who didn't seem to let anything truly bother him. A hateful thought would probably just roll off his back like water, but for Enola, it would be a constant reminder in the back of her head.
"No offense," Sam laughed, "but being telepathic kinda sucks."
"Well, dating one has to be worse," Enola grinned as Sam shrugged.
"Eh, it's worth it."
