The following weeks proved to be a challenge for them all. None of the suitemates would blame Enola and Bloom for being as secretive as they were after what they went through, but it didn't stop them from worrying about them. Bloom was truly the one they needed to be concerned about, as she had been sneaking down to check on Beatrix every night.

From what the fire fairy knew, Enola was the only person who was aware of her spying, but Aisha was beginning to grow suspicious at Bloom's constant need to jot down stuff in her notebook, which she kept hidden from the girls when she wasn't in the suite.

Enola was a bit worried for Bloom herself, finding her addiction to Beatrix a bit concerning. The mind fairly selfishly allowed it to continue, however. She may not have confessed it, but she wanted Beatrix free as well so she could contact Rosalind.

She wasn't crazy enough to help Bloom in her plan to break the air fairy out, though. She may trust Beatrix more, but she still knew that the fairy had one of the most powerful minds blocks she's ever broken through.

Sam may have been the closest to getting all the information on what went on that night, and even that was little. Enola had just told him that they went to Aster Dell and found out more about Bloom's birth parents, leaving out the part about Rosalind being able to help her finally master her powers. He didn't push her to say more after that and swore to keep what he knew a secret from everyone, including her roommates.

Everyone was tense, though.

Mostly because of how worn out they were from classes, which was no longer elective based.

Their training had been amped to a whole different level as now fairies and specialists were learning together, their only focus on how to kill a burned one. It was as if they were in some intensive war boot camp. The faculty were drilling new defense tactics into their mind and did not expect anything less than perfection when they executed them. Not even the older students were used to this type of teaching.

"You better not screw this up again," Riven spoke from behind Enola as he raised his sword in the air, listening for the growls of the burned one as they grew stronger.

"I won't," Enola grit out as her eyes flashed bright pink, sensing the burned one as it planned to come in from the bushes. She quickly spun on her heels as she turned in its direction, "Check your right."

Riven quickly twisted on his heels, pushing Enola back as he angled his sword up to puncture it in the chest before the entire creature disintegrated. Both teenagers groaned as a small silver ball fell to the ground.

"What did we do wrong this time," Riven muttered as they looked over at Professor Harvey, who grabbed the sphere from the ground as they moved back into positions.

"You need to work together," Harvey said as he looked between the two, "Riven can't just take the lead, and you need to use more than your rudimentary magic."

"I can manifest it, but it doesn't do anything," Enola sighed as Harvey shook his head, shaking the ball in their faces before going to redo the exercise.

Riven groaned as he bent down to stretch his back, "Leave it up to Harvey to be an unhelpful twat."

Enola didn't say anything as she simply rolled her eyes, "Whatever. I want to go to the next exercise as much as you do, so do me a favor and give me your sword."

Riven looked to the girl as if she were mad, as he gripped the hilt, "Oh so now the plan is just to kill ourselves," he paused as he thought over the idea, "Not the worst."

"No," Enola scoffed, before shaking her hand out again, "I can see its moves before you do, so I am at an advantage."

"Well, why don't you use your pretty little mind fuckery and just show me whilst I fight," Riven sassily asked, as he pulled out a dagger before handing it to the girl.

Enola glowered but still took the dagger as she muttered, "I don't know how to do that."

"Seems like a pretty useless power to me," Riven spoke as the growls started up again, telling them the exercise was taking place.

"Don't I know it," Enola muttered as they got into position once again. Enola's eyes glimmered pink as she began to sense the burned one approaching.

"It is coming straight up," she shouted, angling her dagger in front of her face, "NOW!"

Just as she said that the burned one appeared, causing Riven to spin away as he matched his sword with its bony like arms, moving to avoid it as Enola moved to its side, "Duck."

Riven obeyed just as the burned one tried to ram its head into the specialist causing it to stumble forward instead. The scene seemed to slow down for a few seconds as both teens looked at Riven's sword, which lay at the foot of the burned one.

At the moment, Enola did something stupid that should have caused them to fail the assignment once again but didn't, "You get the sword while I distract the burned one," she ordered before running up to the creature that easily towered over her.

"What," Roven exclaimed, watching as the fairy ran up to the creature, waving her dagger around to anger it. The boy sighed as he stumbled to grab his sword, "I should have never given her the bloody dagger."

Enola's eyes went full pink as she moved away from the burned one's advance, spinning on her heels as she escaped its blow. The black figure went to attack her again, with a sharp jab to the stomach, but the mind fairy was one step ahead as she fell into a straddle split, swiftly kicking its feet, careful not to cut herself as the creature went down.

A smile came onto Enola's face as she spun away from the creature before coming back on her feet, her dagger in the air once again as she readily predicted the burned one's movements, knowing Riven was coming to attack it from behind.

"Now, Riven," Enola shouted as she flipped over the creature before it got up, throwing her dagger to bring its body towards her so the cocky specialist could stab it in the center of its back. The entire creature fell to its knees as Riven twisted the sword deeper into the creature watching as it disappeared back into the silver ball.

"Well done," Harvey spoke as he appeared from the shrubbery, "good for you Enola. Figuring out a different side to your powers," he nodded over to the girl before grabbing the dagger from the ground and passing it to Riven, "And you both for teamwork. You can take a break."

Riven rolled his eyes with a wolfish grin, "Give a girl one dagger, and she thinks she is damn Kim Possible."

Enola laughed as they walked out of the maze so they could walk over to the break station. She smiled as they sat down on one of the benches, Riven handing her water bottle, "Not really, though. Where did you learn how to move like that?"

Enola grinned as she thought back to when she and Musa took ballet classes together, "I danced for eight years."

"If that's the case," Riven began as he leaned down on his knees, "then why doesn't Dowling have you learning how to kick arse?"

"I'd like to know the same thing," Enola sighed as she looked over at the specialists as they sparred against each other, moving with quick languid movements. Her eyes faintly glowed pink as a smirk rose on her lips, knowing who the winner would be.

Breaking out of her trance, Enola looked over to Riven, with a scrunched up face as she mimicked Dowling's accent, "Plus, mind fairies are meant to be strategizers not warriors."

"Well then, let me show you now," Riven said, causing Enola to laugh as she looked over at the specialists before quickly realizing how serious he was. Riven had gotten up from his seat and began to stretch his arms.

"Sure," she said, not seeing what could possibly be wrong with a little extra practice. Riven's expression brightened a bit as he put his water down before walking over to grab one of the large fighting sticks they used.

"Catch," the specialist said, tossing the stick over to the girl before grabbing one for himself. He would never say it, but he found that he enjoyed teaching the first years how to spar.

"Now get into position," Riven instructed, causing Enola to obey as she moved her feet into a stance before looking up at the boy for her instructions, "Now, when it comes to things like swords or sticks, you need to focus on hand movement more than anything."

Riven moved his stick over to Enola, which she quickly spun to clash against his before it hit her side.

"Good," he nodded his head, "But try to aim higher so that you have more power. Now try to strike at my feet, but be sure to push against the stick when you do so you have time to attack."

Enola nodded her head before following exactly what Riven instructed her, a smile coming to her face as her eyes lit up, listening to Riven plan out her next move in his head. Following what Riven told her and what she was hearing in her thoughts, the mind fairy and specialist both met their match as they spun around each other, avoiding blows as they tried to attack each other.

When Enola thought she was about to beat Riven, he dropped kicked her, causing the girl to back with a small thud. The mind fairy groaned as she dropped the stick, watching as Riven arrogantly walked over to the fairy before holding his hand out to help her up.

"Pretty good for a novice."

"Still lost," Enola sighed, before mustering a small smile as she moved to put the supplies away, "I better get going, See you tomorrow?"

"Training with me is that bad," Riven joked, watching as she grabbed her bag, moving to fix her hair at the same time.

Enola grinned as she stopped moving, bringing her hand up to block the sun from her eyes as she looked over to Riven, "I have a date," she smirked.

☹ ☻

Enola grinned as she made her way into the greenhouse, placing her purse on the ground as she looked around for Sam. Last night, he had texted her with the simple request for her to meet him during lunch at the greenhouse for their first official date.

A light pink glow came from Enola's eyes as she heard Sam's nervous fretting around the glass room. She wasn't sure why he was so worried about their date since they had gone on dates before. Perhaps it was because of what happened when she was with Beatrix.

He didn't push her to tell more, but she knew that he was worried. It was apparent because he seemed to be more romantic than usual, always wanting to be next to her and continually doing small mental check-ins with her. At first, she didn't mind but was now becoming a bit upset by how fragile he thought she was.

"Sam," Enola called out, walking towards where she heard his voice last. Just as the small fairy was about to tilt her head around the large plant that seemed to block half the room, two strong arms wrapped themselves around her, causing the honey-haired girl to gasp.

"Hello there, love," Enola smiled as she heard him whisper in her ear, turning to place a small kiss on his lips before moving in his arms so she can face the tallboy. Sam proudly looked around the room before asking, "Do you like it?"

Enola grinned, looking around the greenhouse. Sam had placed small fairy lights all around the room, causing it to have a slight glow to emit from the plants, giving it an ethereal feel. The serenity of the plant life mixed with Sam's thoughts made the mind fairy practically melt in his arms as she wished to never have to leave this moment.

"I love it," Enola smiled as she allowed Sam to pull her over to one of the desks up against the wall, which held different scientific tools and holistic plants. He leaned on the barstool, pulling Enola between his legs as he leaned forward, pressing a small kiss on her chin before moving down to press a kiss on her neck.

Enola wore a small smile, relishing in the feeling of Sam's lips as she felt him move down to her collarbone before looking up at her. Their eyes met for a second before Sam pressed his lips on hers, causing Enola to kiss back, trying to match his fervor.

The kiss didn't last long as Sam pulled away, a small frown on his lips as he looked at Enola in confusion, "What's wrong?"

"Nothing," she smiled, knowing that Sam probably thought that it was him. The mind fairy didn't know why she felt so somber, but she knew it wasn't Sam's fault.

The male earth fairy didn't seem to notice, however, as his worried expression didn't fall, causing Enola to sigh as she tried to find the right word for how she was feeling. Looking over at the door, she smiled as the sun streamed through before saying, "I don't know how I feel, but I know I am exhausted and that you are the only person who makes me feel better."

Sam nodded, silently pulling her forwards once again, "Then we won't do anything."

Enola shook her head, trying to break out of his grip, "No, because you planned this date."

"And you owe me," Sam joked, lightly rubbing her arms, "so for our next date, I expect my girlfriend to be at her best...but right now, I can handle her having a bad day."

Enola smiled as she pressed a small kiss on his neck before resting her head on his chest, "I love you."

The two remained in that position for what felt like hours, simply enjoying each other's presence. No words are spoken and no movements made. Sam just held her in his arms with all his might, as if she may leave him if she didn't. There was no selfishness in his actions.

Despite the simplicity of it all, it was exactly what Enola needed.
