This is the second part.

Be sure not to miss any😘

I'm dedicating this chapter to TOLA_AISH. Be sure to check out her book 'FAÇADES'.

Vina's POV

It takes me a while to realize that it is the melanin goddess beside me that spoke.

So she does have a voice, shocking.

I silently stare into those dark orbs of hers. She has pretty cat eyes but her pupils are such a dark, dark colour. Her eyes are devoid of any emotion, her face is stoic. She doesn't look like she can give even the faintest of smiles.

She stares back intently, watching me with an unreadable expression and just as I am about to respond, the teacher for the next period enters the class.

Kiki hisses at me and turns her attention to fishing out her notes from her bag.

Rude much?

Looking at my schedule, I see that we are having English at the moment. So, I am guessing the woman before us is our English teacher.

"Good day, everyone." She greets with a very huge smile on her pretty face.

"Good day, Ma." We chorus back.

"For the new students, I am Mrs. Henshaw. Rose Henshaw, your English teacher." She informs us, still with that big dimpled smile on her light skinned face. "Please stand up and tell me your names."

Me and an albino girl with afro hair bigger than her whole head stands up.

"I am Zacharia Wilson." She introduces. Mrs. Henshaw smiles and motions for her to sit.

She turns to me and her smile grows, "You dear, are you biracial? Your hair is literal goals!"

I chuckle at the look of admiration in her eyes,"My name is Davina Igwe, Ma and I'm not a direct biracial but my mum is."

"Nice to meet you, Davina. You may have your seat."

I give her a small smile and sit down.

"Today we will be looking at Idioms. I will be using the first period to explain then the second period to take down our notes. Is that alright?"

"Yes Ma'am." We all respond.

She explains, gives examples and all that. All in all, the class is really fun and interactive. I think English may just be my new favourite subject.

Sadly, the two periods go by pretty fast.

~~~~~~~~~~~~
By break, the whole class turns upside down. Everyone is talking and screaming at the top of their lungs.
Some people leave the class probably to buy snacks from the tuck shop. Others are quietly reading or browsing through their phones.
As my eyes travel round the class taking everything in, they fall on Kiki's own and I almost slip out of my seat due to the shock.
"Why are you staring at me?"
She says nothing while still boring holes into my soul and studying me like I am a fascinating animal she found at the zoo.
I become uncomfortable under her scrutinizing gaze. I shake it off however and face her squarely. If it is a stare down our melanin goddess wants, then I'm sure as hell going to give it to her.
I stare back at her intently, studying every aspect of her face. From her perfectly arched eyebrows to long lashes that look too unreal to be natural. Her dark soulless eyes to her tiny pointed nose that has a diamond stud on its left nostril and full lips deposited under them.
She has a diamond shaped head and skin rich in melanin. The natural kinky weaves she has on falls to her back in a side parting. This girl is so pretty but her whole aura screams to fuck off.
I watch as her full lips stretch into a small smirk then she speaks in a clear and pristine voice,"I like you."
My face contorts into a small frown, "Huh?"
"I said, I like you."
"Uhm...yay?"
She laughs a little,"I'm Kiki. Kiki Benson." Her hand stretches out to me,"Nice to meet you."
I take her hand in mine and manage a small smile, "Davina, Davina Igwe."
"I already know that." She tells me with a small smile.
"So you can smile?" I blurt out.
"Abeg, free me." She chuckles,"Tell me about yourself."
I stiffen but then, shake it off and smile,"Sure."
I bring out my earlier breakfast of toast, bacon and eggs. (picture below⬇)
"You want some?" I offer.
"No, thanks."
Nodding at her, I munch on my first meal for the day.
"My name is-"
"I already know your name, silly. Get to the good stuff." Kiki quickly dismisses.
"Whatever. I'm sixteen, favorite colour is purple. My mum is half Igbo, half Irish while my dad is full Igbo. That's all."
She raises her perfectly arched eyebrows at me.
"What?" I ask while munching on a piece of bacon.
"No siblings?"
I freeze at that statement.
"Come here, little pumpkin. Don't cry okay? You are a princess and princesses don't cry. Smile for me."
I looked up into his warm brown eyes as they stared down at me.
I smiled and hugged him tight,"I love you so much, Xander."
My voice came out muffled because my face was buried inside his thick hair.
"I love you too, pumpkin." He said and wrapped his big arms around me.
I pushed him away pouting,"Don't say 'too'. It is as if you are just agreeing with me."
He threw his head back as his shoulders quaked in laughter, "I'm sorry. I love you..."
My lips stretched into a grin.
"...too." He added.
I narrowed my eyes at him.
He stood up from his kneeling position and started running away laughing. I chased after him laughing too but with the intent of murdering him.
"I'm coming for you, Xander!"
"That's if you catch me first, chicken legs!" He yelled right back while running round the huge garden back at home.
"How dare you call me chicken legs you, asshat!"
"Language, Vee!"
I picked up my pace and jumped on top of him, sending him to the ground with me atop him. I was clearly out of breath but he looked perfectly fine as he laughed his heart out.
Sitting on his stomach, I glared daggers at him while trying my hardest not to laugh too. After a few seconds, he calmed down but there was still that goofy grin on his stupidly handsome face.
He sat up and pecked me on my cheeks,"I love you, princess."
I blushed like silly and threw my arms around his neck," I know you love me, teddy bear."
I pushed him back to lay on the grass while I lay on top of him. He placed his arms around me and gently massaged my scalp in a comforting manner.
"Davina. Davina. Davina!" Kiki screams into my ear.
"Yes!" I answer, jumping back a little.
"What is wrong with you?" She questions.
"Oh...nothing. How long was I out?"
"Not long." She replies, looking at me weirdly,"Break time is already over. I suggest you hurry up with your food before the next teacher comes in."
I gobble up the remainder of my meal and drink water from my water bottle before giving her my attention,"What were we discussing before?"
"Nothing serious. We will talk during lunch." She says, still eyeing me weirdly.
"Okay, sure."
Just then, the next teacher comes in.
~~~~~~~~~~

"So what was that episode of yours about?" Kiki asks me as we find our way towards the refectory to have our lunch.

"What episode?" I ask feigning ignorance.

She stops abruptly in the middle of the hall and folds her arms while glaring at me, "Stop playing dumb and just tell me what's wrong."

I sigh and roll my eyes.

"I don't want to talk about it...please."

"Talk to me." She demands rather than ask.

I can sense she is already getting irritated and this angers me.

"Leave me alone, I don't want to talk about it. Can't you just respect my decision?" I snap at her.

"Fine. Suit yourself." Then she storms off leaving me in the middle of the hallway.

"Kiki!" I call out but she ignores me as she continues on her way till she disappears down the hall.

Sighing, I follow the path opposite to where she angrily went off to. We are served jollof rice with the option of adding stewed chicken or peppered turkey to it and having it with salad which is optional.

I have my jollof rice with salad and peppered turkey. Picking up my tray, I glance around the refectory for any empty table which I sight at the farthest end.

I feel bad that I had a fall out with Kiki. She is the only person that I had to talk to but now, I am all alone. I can't deny that she was being a bit insensitive but how can she expect me to bare my life-

"Hey, beautiful."

I roll my eyes but my attention still remains on the plate of food before me. I make to tell off the person that attempted to disturb me but my words catch in my throat as my eyes behold who is speaking.

One word to describe him is simply breathtaking. His honey brown eyes spotting flecks of green in them are to die for and those pink lips, thick eyebrows and perfectly sculpted face. Talk about a perfect creation. Even his hair is so curly and the tips are a complementary shade of light brown.

He stands there with a self-satisfied smirk on his face as I shamelessly check him out. His mandarin scent fills my nostrils as I inhale deeply.

"I'm Nasir. Nice to meet you." He introduces himself with a flirty smile as he extends his hand for a handshake.

"D-Davina." I stutter while taking his hand in mine.

"Can I sit with you?"

"Sure." I immediately agree. Having someone to talk to isn't such a bad idea.

I look around the refectory and my eyes land on a flawless beauty with blonde weaves and monolid slender eyes. What sets me off is the death glare she sends my way.

Weird...

I look away from her and direct my attention to Nasir who I guess has been talking without me paying attention.

"...SS2 C. You?"

"Huh?"

"I said I'm a Business science student so I'm in SS2 C." He repeats,"You?"

"Oh sorry." I giggle nervously,"I am in SS2 A, pure science."

"Okay." He nods his head slowly.

For the remainder of lunch we just talk and get to know each other.

He's actually really interesting and also funny.

He escorts me to my class when we finish with eating,"See you tomorrow, Davina"

"You too, Nasir."

I turn to go into my class but he stops me, "Please can you give me your number?"

"Sure." I take his iPhone from him and type my number into it.

"Thanks." He says and flashs me his pretty boy smile.

I smile back and go into my class. My eyes scan the classroom, Kiki hasn't returned yet. I walk over to our seat and bring out my phone, put in my ear piece and listen to Positions by Ariana while scrolling through my Instagram feed.

A few minutes later, Kiki comes back but I flat out ignore her. She does well not to talk to me but still throws glances my way.

~~~~~~~~~~~~
"That'll be all for today class. Do well to submit the holiday assignments you were given." My chemistry teacher instructs us before leaving.
As soon as she leaves, the closing bell goes off. I gather all my things, spare Kiki a glance then walk out of the class.
Surprisingly, it is now I realise that I had not run into Aidan and Nadia all through the school day. They are in SS3 though and also a year older than me which means they are seventeen.
I shrug and continue on my way to the main gate to wait for Mr. Emeka until,
"Vina!"
I freeze but then continue quickly.
Kiki.
That is Kiki's voice. I am in no mood to talk to her at the moment so I scurry away. Lucky for me, I see the car and Mr. Emeka standing in front of it as soon as I get to the school's parking lot.
"Good afternoon, Sir." I greet him with a small smile.
"Gudu aftunun, my dia." He replies as we enter the car,"Abi school was fine?"
"Yes, Sir."
The rest of the drive is in perfect silence giving me time to recollect my thoughts.
Soon enough, we arrive at the house and I thank him before alighting from the car. My legs carry me straight to my room because I am so exhausted.
I take off my uniform, enjoy a quick shower and flop onto my queen sized water bed. Mentally deciding to skip dinner, I sleep off.
