"KEEFE SENCEN! YOU ARE IN SUCH BIG TROUBLE!" My dad yells

I cringe and look over at Foster who's at the moment hurling these bad feelings to my dad that says, you are the worst dad that could ever exist.

Thanks for the feelings Foster. I feel the same way. You could at least inflict on him while you're at it, I metally think again.

But of course she can't inflict on him. She's recovering from almost dying!

I definitely don't want Foster almost dying again.

Because that was a memory I would never forget.

A.N. - Flashback time! (based on what actually happened in Flashback by SM, just in Keefe's Point of View :

Keefe:

As soon as Dex hailed to me that Sophie had pressed her panic switch, I started to freak out.

He said that he had also hailed to Elwin to get his office ready for some injuries. So I had basically sprinted with Ro to the Healing Center, not even bothering to check my reflection in the mirror.

When that happens, you know I'm legit freaking out.

When I got there I found Dex's mom, Juline, already there brainstorming ways to punish Dex for not telling anyone where he was going. She had some particularly brutal ideas, which warned me never to get on Juline's bad side. I asked where Dex's dad was, and she said that he had stayed home with Rex, Bex, and Lex so they couldn't break everything.

We waited and waited for what felt like endless. And then Wylie finally showed up first, and he had Fitz, who was looking really blue. Bullhorn was screaming like crazy and not to mention, I think I was too. I stumbled over to Fitz, praying over and over again please don't make anyone dead, please don't make anyone dead.

Then Sandor tumbled in with Grizel and Louise who looked very beaten up. I waited for Foster and Dex to stumble in too, and when they didn't right away, I thought...

No Keefe. They were just lagging behind because Dex had to carry her. They ARE NOT dead.

Finally, Dex came stumbling in with Sophie draped over his shoulders with one of his arms crooked in a painful way. Juline was rushing over crying like crazy, telling Dex never to do that again. Dex then put Foster onto a cot while Elwin told him to drink the elixir on his desk for his arm.

I looked over at Foster.

Fitzy and Foster were both unconscious and in terrible pain, and because I was an Empath, I could feel what they were feeling.

And boy, it did not feel good.

Sophie was looking blue like Fitz, but instead of a peaceful sleep like Fitz had, her face was twisted up with stress, pain, agony, and horror as she laid there on the cot.

"Explain what happened," Elwin demanded Dex and Wylie

"Well... Fitz and the bodyguards got knocked out because I'm pretty sure Sophie inflicted, Sophie got knocked out because I think Umber broke her bones, and --

"But that doesn't say why Sophie and Fitz look so blue," he pointed out

"I don't know why Fitz is blue, because he was already knocked out by the time we came, but Sophie got hit with this black shadow arrow in the hand that Umber made ..."

"Oh no," mumble Elwin under his hand as he dragged it across his face

"Keefe," he said

"Y-Yeah?" I said trying to keep my voice under control and not trembled.

"I need you to hail to Tam right now and tell him to come over as fast as he can."

Usually, I would fight for me not to and for someone else to call Bangs Boy, but all matters aside for right now. It was a pure emergency.

I hailed Tam, which was the first I had done in my entire life, and thankfully, he picked up.

"Keefe?? Why are you calling me?"

"Tam!" I screamed into my imparter

"YouneedtocometotheHealingCenterrightnowitisanemergencyElwinneedsyouforsomewhateverreasonbutpleasehurrybecauseIthinkFitzandFosteraredying
rightnow!"

"Whoa whoa whoa... wait what? Did you just call me by my real name Tam?"

"Tam!" said Elwin from behind me

"Oh, hi Elwin."

"You need to come to the Healing Center as fast as you can. It's an emergency. Dex, Wylie, Foster, and bodyguards just came back from a battle with the Neverseen, and I need you to test something out."

"On it. I'll be there in thirty seconds.

"Good." said Elwin walking away to treat more wounds

Tam and I just sat there for an awkward second staring at each other through the screen.

"Well...," said Tam finally, "See you in a few seconds, Chunkyhair!"

And before I got a chance to respond, he clicked the screen off and left me sitting there staring at a black screen.

Then he burst through the doors, his annoying silver tipped bangs brushing through his eyes as he walked over to Elwin.

"I need you to try to call the shadows out of Sophie's blood," said Elwin

"WHAT?" shouted Tam and I both shouted at the same time

"She has shadows in her blood and you have been watching me sit here sulking this whole time, and didn't even bother to tell me?" I asked in disbelief

"Actually, I just figured it out right now before you hailed to Tam, Keefe. Even if I had known sooner, I wouldn't had told you because I would've known you would of freaked out," said Elwin

"Good call, doc. I'll give you credit for thinking that one through," said Ro

I glared at her.

"She isn't responding to any of the elixirs I'm giving her, so I will admit, I'm pretty much having a meltdown too," said Elwin

"Gee, thanks for making me feel even better," I said

"That's why I had you call Tam over before I told you, or else we know that neither of us would be able to function," he said with a wink

He led Tam and I over to Foster's cot and got it all set up. Tam started to work on taking the shadows out of her blood, while I started to frantically pace the room. He was about eight minutes into the take the shadows out process when he suddenly stopped.

"What's wrong?" I said immediately

"What's wrong?" Tam shot back,

"What's with all the nervous pacing for the last eight minutes? It's breaking my concentration."

"Then concentrate harder!" I yell, "I need to pace around when I'm
nervous."

He went back to shadow chasing while I started to pace the room again.

"That's it. Either you're going out into the hallway or I'm going to stop taking the shadows away," said Tam

"WHAT?" I say, "YOU CAN'T JUST STOP! SOPHIE'S LIFE IS AT RISK RIGHT NOW!" I scream

Tam blinks once and then looks over at Elwin.

"Ro," Elwin said way to calmly, "Could you take Keefe out to the hallway?" 

"WHAT?" I say once again

"Gladly doc," says Ro

I start whining like a little kid again and then Ro finally drags me out into the hallway by threatening me by dumping a bunch of flesh eating bacteria on my head.

When I got into the hallway, (after I had calmed down from yelling at Ro) I started to think.

How did the Neverseen find them in the first place?

Then after a few hours of careful thinking and napping, it hit me.

The chain with the monocle pendant that Sophie was still wearing.

His pendant.

He bet anything that on that pendant was a tracker.

Then Ro and Elwin come rushing from the sound of my dad's voice.

"Lord Cassius," Elwin says out of breath, "What --"

Then he sees my dad's arm.

"Oh. Don't worry," Elwin says, "That should be an easy fix. Drink one vial and you'll be set!" he says, trying to act calm

"THAT'S NOT THE POINT!" my dad roars, "MY SON JUST RAN AWAY FROM HIS EMPATHY ONCE AGAIN TO COME TO YOUR OFFICE! HE STILL HAS TO PROVE HE CAN GET HIGHER GRADES!" he yells

"Uh..." says Ro, "Not to interrupt the father son doctor bonding time, but didn't he get straight 100%s on his last final grades?" she asks

Oh Ro. How I love you so much sometimes.

My father makes that sour face of his, which I hate, and is about to say something else when he then sees Foster.

He stops himself, and becomes this composed guy who doesn't know about anything Ro's talking about. Of course he has to be all good around the Moonlark. Gotta make that impression, right?

Foster doesn't seem fooled though.

She's glaring at him with all her might. I gotta say, I love feisty Foster. One of my favorite things to see.

"It doesn't matter," my dad says after a moment, smoothing his hair as he returned to his "smooth" and "composed self."

"Well... what do you expect of him?" Ro asks, "A 101%? Is that even possible? I know your sparkle town has a lot of different rules than my town, but -- "

"Enough," my dad says as he drinks his elixir Elwin gave him, "Keefe, come with me. You too miss bodyguard. Say goodbye to your friend," he says

I look at Foster who's got that cute little crinkle in between her eyebrows.

Will you be okay? She transmits to me

I'll be fine, I think in my brain so she can hear it, probably just get a lecture and punishment afterwards. Don't worry about me, I think as I smoothen the crinkle in between her eyebrows with the tip of my finger.

She blushes at the sudden feel of my finger and I smirk. She blushed even harder. Oh, how I loved to make her blush like that.

Then I reluctantly follow my dad into the light and then we're back at home in a blink of an eye.

I sigh.

"Keefe Sencen," my dad continues, "You will be grounded. You know that right?" he asks

"Of course I do. I'm not stupid," I mumble.

"Good. Because from here on out, I forbid you from seeing your friends until they are out of the Healing Center."
