Beginnings [✔️]

"Yay, we're home!" I yelled, running into the house.  My little legs carried me all the way to my room, and I jumped and faceplanted into the bed.  I loved that song on the radio! I can't remember how it went.  I sat on my bed and tried to remember the song. Just as I remembered the song, mommy walked in.  I decided to sing it to her sweetly.  She stopped in her tracks, body going still.  The smile on her face vanished.

"Are you ok mommy?" I ask worriedly.  Say your ok mommy...

"I'm ok," she said blankly, voice devoid of emotion.  I was too young to process it at the time.

"Good!" I squeal and rush to her.  I hug the only thing I could, her legs, are waited patiently for her warm embrace.  Strangely, it never came.  Looking up at her, I frowned.  "Daddy!" I called.

"Yes, sweety?" Daddy said, walking into the room. "What's wrong with mommy?" I asked, letting go of my mother.  "What happened? (M/n) are you ok?" he questioned, looking over at her, his hand going to her lower back. "I sang a song and she stopped moving" I added, wondering what I had done. "Maybe you finally got your quirk!" dad yells excitedly, coming up to scoop me up in his arms.  I giggled as he swung me around.  When he set me down, he put his large hands on my shoulder.  "Let's see if we can fix Mommy now, ok?"

present-day.

The sun shot me right in the eyes as they opened, and I regret not closing the blinds the night before.  I rolled over in my bed, covering myself in my sheets.  Safe and warm.  Yawning, I suddenly remembered.  The entrance exam!  I shook off the drowsiness and ran to my closet, mind busy with thoughts.  After a short time, I was dressed in some simple sportswear.  No need to dress up for anyone, anyhow.

The bruises were still healing.  The nasty one on my left eye still stung, and so did the big purple one on my stomach.  I covered the ones on my face with some concealer and decided the job was decent.  Checking my phone, my eyes widened.  I only have 15 minutes until the exam starts, and fuck, the bus already left!

I ran out the door in a hurry.  Glancing at the river, a debate started in my head.  To turn or not to turn.  If I sprinted, I would be late.  I don't have friends who have cars, or friends at all, actually.  Cursing out the situation, I jumped into the water.  It was chilly, but not too cold to bother me.  The few voices in my head guided me with a simple hum, and my body shifted.

I breathed in with a heavy sigh and looked down at my scales.  They never failed to amaze me with their simplistic beauty.  The cool colors served to soothe my nerves.  I stopped praising my quirk and swam.  Swimming was always a thrill no matter the form.  The way my arms were left at my sides being guided by the current, or my hair being hassled helplessly.

Having taken the same path before, I could tell my destination was not too far off.  I slowed down a bit and with the remaining stamina, flipped out of the water.  My tail dissolved back into my legs, my outfit still being intact.  Makeup and everything.  Checking my phone once again, I realized I was too early now, just great.

I took in the empty surroundings.  There were only a few others here, so I sat down in the stadium and wasted my time however I could.  People soon filled out all the seats, and in what seemed like no time did the announcer come out onto the stage.  He explained everything were needed to know, the robots, the point system, etc.  Everyone was assigned their arena and dispersed.

As people started lining up, I got excited.  I was always too scared to ever used my quirk in public, but now I got the chance to.  I would be representing my uncle, my parents, and maybe even my grandparents.  I took in a deep breath and prepared myself.

The gates opened with a loud noise and we were off.  I turn away immediately to try and avoid the crowd.  Running a short distance, I stop to look at a group of three-pointers.  I summon some water, willing them into beams, and blast it right through their heads.

I spot a one-pointer and run towards it. I jump off the ground and wrap my thighs around its head.  Squeezing my thighs as hard as I can, I crush its head.  I land on the ground, almost falling, and hear more commotion from behind me. I quickly turn around to see I was surrounded by ten two-pointers.  Acknowledging the crowd, I sang the first song that came to mind.

I start singing the beginning melody, earning a few stares and blushed faces.  Confused too.  The bots that were running towards me stopped as well.  After the long melody, I finally started singing the lyrics. Thankfully I didn't have to sing the whole song, because short-circuiting them wasn't too hard.  I run away without a second thought.

The fighting went on for a while and I was starting to get tired.  I looked around for another bot but suddenly the sound of violence was replaced with screams of fear and terror.

The ground shook and I finally spotted the huge zero-pointer.  I looked down at its feet and saw that a boy and a girl were about to get crushed by it.  As soon as I processed the thought, I conjured more water and blasted them out of the way.  I got a huge tunnel of fast-moving water, and shot it right through the middle of the huge robot, knocking it to the ground.  Cheers of absolute glee and appreciation were thrown at me.

"Thank you ma'am" I heard, and I felt a hand placed on my shoulder.  I turn my head to see a boy about the same height as me, with red spiky hair, and sharp teeth.

"It was no problem," I said, taking my hand to pat the one on my shoulder. "I'm Eijiro Kirishima, nice to meet you, and thanks for saving me" he spoke, rubbing the back of his neck. He seems like a sweetheart. "I'm (Y/n) (L/n), nice to meet you Kirishima" I respond.  The exam ended moments after.

the judging room.

"First place with 100 villain points and 30 rescue points...." Present Mic said, pointing at the girl on top. "Her physical strength is amazing and her reaction time is pretty quick. She can also handle her quirk easily and efficiently, though she didn't and couldn't use all of it" Midnight added, just as surprised as everyone else. "Your gonna have fun with that one Eraser" Present Mic added, grabbing the attention of a black-haired male. "I can see that Mic" Aizawa said, already preparing for such an unknown powerhouse.

back at home.

I take a well-deserved shower,  getting clean from the sweat and dirt.  My muscles had a slight ache to them but the warm water was relaxing.  I only got out once my stomach growled in hunger.  Now dressed, I stuffed my face with whatever was in the house.  I lay back on the couch, full beyond content.  My eyes got heavy as the events from today finally came to a close, but a knock at the door snapped me out of it.

Confused, I slowly dragged myself to the door.  I opened it, but no one was there.  Looking further, I saw a letter at my feet.  I picked it up with hesitance and felt it up with my hands.  A disk?

After closing my door, I shuffle to the couch and don't hesitate to open the letter.  Before I could catch it, a metal disk fell out and onto my feet.  It makes a strange noise before exploding in a burst of light.  Blinking, I realize that it's just a projection.  A projection of All Might. "I am here as a projection!" he yells, doing his signature pose towards the camera.  He talked about how he couldn't talk to me in person, and that he was sorry.

"The school uniform will be sent to you along with the schedule because....." All Might paused for dramatic effect. "You passed the written exam, and got first in the practical exam. I am happy to say, that you, (Y/n) (L/n), has been accepted to U.A. in class 1A!"
