Tara didn't see her best friends again until the next day. After Riven left her dorm she spent most of her time avoiding the hot guy who apparently was really clingy. It's a shame that the hot ones are always crazy.
Tara was currently leaning on the risen training matt, her head resting on her elbows as she looked up at her two friends, waiting for her turn. Tara was extremely talented in long distance weaponry but unfortunately couldn't slack out of the contact fighting.
Sky shrugged as he blocked another hit to the side, "There's something about her."
"What, you're smitten after one chat?" Riven pointed the staff at Sky's face and he looked at it before glancing back up. The training commenced with various spins, Riven did a side kick which Sky blocked, he then swung for his side but was unsuccessful again, "What is it with you and the crazy ones?"
Sky squinted his eyes slightly and didn't see the punch come towards his stomach, he gripped his stomach as he and Riven began to circle each other, "How do you know she's crazy? You haven't even met her." He pointed his wooden sword at Riven.
Riven 'tsked' Sky as he shook his head, "She's a ginge. They're all nuts, amazing shags though."
Tara buried her face in her arm feeling physically ill thinking about Riven snogging someone, it was revolting, couldn't ever imagine doing it. Sky raised his brows slightly.
"Oh, you speak from experience? Didn't realize your hand was a redhead." Sky teased as they both glanced at Tara who was pretending to hang herself now.
Riven swung at Sky who managed to block every time, Sky eventually succeeded in knocking the wooden sword from his hands and flipping him to the ground. Tara laughed loudly as he rolled away. Tara giddily swapped places with Sky as he passed her his wooden swords, one for each hand, "My turn."
Riven and Tara circled each other and the female specialist struck first. She gripped the swords strongly as she swung to the left. Her untied hair fanning behind her as she span. Riven was prepared and blocked her attack. He stepped forward and switched to the offensive as he threw hits at her sides. She blocked them all but one and he got her in the ribs. She jumped away from him and rubbed the spot slightly.
"Did I hurt baby Tara? Is she fragile?" Riven teased as it seemed to rile her up. She faked right and as he went to block she kicked the back of his leg forcing him onto his knees.
Tara leant down and heavy breathing fanned his ear, "Not as fragile as your ego." Riven moved his leg and swept her feet from under her, causing her to fall on her side. Riven crawled over her and straddled her, pinning down her arms as she tried to smack him with the wooden swords.
Riven smirked at her thinking he'd won but Tara still had a few tricks up her sleeves. The brown haired beauty stopped struggling and gazed up at him with a hooded look, she leant up and Riven leant closer (both completely forgetting about Sky watching them) but before anything could happen she took advantage of his weakened grip on her wrists and pushed her knee up into the privates. Riven groaned but couldn't react much as the girl was already up on her feet holding a wooden sword at his neck grinning, those perfect dimples on display.
"That flirty trick won't work on Burned Ones."
Tara shrugged and her smile grew, "True, but it works on hormonal teenage boys." Sky laughed from the sidelines as the girl still hadn't removed her wooden staff from her best friends neck, "You got slow this summer."
"Correction." Riven grinned as he spoke moving his arms behind his head so he had some form of pillow, his biceps visibly flexing (not that Tara was looking), "I got high this summer."
"Really?" The disapproval in Sky's voice wasn't missed as Riven rolled his eyes as Sky moved from the side and pulled him up.
"Whatever big-brother speech you're about to give me..." Riven started but Sky was quick to interrupt.
"There's no speech."
"...I don't wanna hear it." Riven continued acting as if he hadn't heard his friend, "A more productive use of your time would be to distract your aggro father figure so I don't got expelled." Riven said as he tucked a cigarette behind his year and walked off after grabbing his stuff.
"That is the definition of teen angst." Riven held up his middle finger as he walked away having heard Tara's comment.
Both Tara and Sky grabbed their stuff from the matts, Tara also grabbing her bow and quiver, before she was training with Riven and Sky she had been doing some archery practice.
"So, after your classes, you are all mine." Silva pointed at a group of first years with a training baton just as Sky and Tara came closer, "And I like the things I own to work well, so you will train every day. Find your skill. Hone your skill." Silva spoke slowly as he looked at each of the teenagers in front of him, "And eventually even you..." The baton stopped at Dane who stood at the end of the row and Silva eyed him, "can fight like him," Silva threw the a sword at Sky who caught it and Tara moved to the right slightly. Silva swung at Sky twice, the clashing of swords attracting attention. Sky was able to block twice before getting kicked in the stomach making him stumble back, Silva grabbed the other sword as Sky dropped it and removed a knife from his armour, Sky rushed at the headmaster but Silva quickly cut him off by holding the swords in an X-formation.
Silva nodded at Sky and grabbed a disk they use for air practise. "Tara," the brunette whipped her head around and saw him about to throw and with lightning speed she removed an arrow from her quiver which was resting on her shoulder and aimed. Silva threw the clay disk in the air and Tara's eyes followed it, she released her arrow and it hit in the centre mid air, raining clay on some of the first years who looked amazed by the two second years, "or maybe even shoot like her."
Tara walked over to the first years and picked up her arrow then moving back to stand next to Sky who grinned slightly, "He fights even better with a bit of advance warning."
"He did all right. Favoured his left, but what else is new?" Silva shrugged slightly with a small smile, full of paternal care.
"Sky's father was Andreas of Eraklyon." Sky stopped, Tara rubbed his back slightly knowing how tense he got, "Tara's father was William of Callisto." Tara didn't make any facial recognition of what he said but shifted her bow in her hands. "That made them both a legacy admission, but both still showed up on the first day and did the work."
"Well done." Silva shook both their hands and Tara gave a small smile the same as Sky.
The two second years then walked away, having heard the story of Silva's first Burnt One many times.
"You going to the meet and greet with the first years later?" Sky asked her as they walked in comfortable silence. Those were the best types of friends, the ones you don't have to constantly entertain because they already know what you're thinking.
"Nah, I don't know if I can be bothered," Sky wasn't exactly shocked by her answer. Tara could be very antisocial and tended to avoid large gatherings. She was much more comfortable in her room in baggy clothes than out partying in tight clothes that made her feel weird, "also, socialising with the first year fairies? I think I'll pass."
Sky laughed at the girl and nudged her, "What about the black haired dude from yesterday?"
Tara groaned, "Cooper. God the hot ones are always crazy." She wiggled her finger around her temple to indicate how crazy and continued, "Super hot and great kisser, but super clingy, like I already know I'm great no need to feed my ego."
"Some guys would say the same about you." Sky raised a brow to the first half of her statement and snickered as the girl shoved him slightly.
"Look at least I don't get serious with the crazy ones." Both Riven and Tara thought the same thing when it came to Stella; absolutely nuts.
"Yeah 'cause you're perfect." The sarcasm wasn't missed in his voice, "Riven seems to think so."
Tara wrinkled her nose and moved away from her blonde best friend, "I think I hear someone calling me."
"No one is calling you." Sky deadpanned as he watched his friend start to walk away. Tara often avoided conversations which made her awkward, specifically; anything to do with feelings.
"Sorry, can't hear you over people calling my name," Tara grinned at him showing her dimples and shouted, "I love you!"
"Love you too!" Sky shouted back as his friend walked towards the dorms.

"Hey." Riven breathed out as he entered her dorm. The girl he desired to see was sat at her desk watching a movie when he walked in, she had her long curly hair in a messy bun and Riven swore she was the cutest thing he's ever seen.
Tara turned and paused her film, it was a film that her friend who lived on Earth downloaded for her which was absolutely amazing with incredibly hot characters, The Maze Runner. "Hey, how was the introduction thing?" Tara didn't really want to call it a party as there were teachers so she went with the first thing she could.
"Shit." He deadpanned as he got comfortable on her bed, picking up the Teddy which she hated him touching. Tara frowned and moved closer.
She threw her laptop on the bed and looked him over, noticing the red marks around his neck like he'd been suffocated. "What happened?" Tara got on the bed neck to him and traced her fingers over his slightly swollen skin and he tensed.
"Earth fairy got defensive." Was Riven's simple reply, he knew she would scold him for supplying the first years with alcohol so didn't give all the details, not in the mood to be scolded. Tara nodded and pulled her fingers away.
The archer pulled her laptop into her lap and moved the film back to the beginning, she wouldn't mind rewatching the first thirty minutes for Riven. Riven opened his side and as the girl sat back he pulled her to him, cuddling into each other.
Sometime he felt like Tara was the only one who didn't expect him to be someone he wasn't. Yeah she would scold him but she never actually got mad or expected him to change, as bad as that sounds, she was there for him, not for who people wanted him to be.
Tara pressed play just as Riven pressed a kiss to the crown of her head. She turned her head away and blushed, perhaps she'd started to feel more and just never noticed until now. He certainly felt more, but what even was it? Love, like, desire? It was all the same in the end, he just didn't know that yet.
