Chapter 16
Dusty old books made up much of your leisure time either when Adrian needed time for himself or for when it was just a day to enjoy each other as individuals. Still, love was around. Although there were times that you had found yourself missing his attention.
While having the company satisfied with your cooking made a comfortable feeling inside. It still felt off for you to accept but of course, it could have just been from all the times of being alone traveling. Although you still tried to understand these black pages.
The peaking of sunlight peered down the destroyed stair shaft of the Belmont hold as dust particles floated creating the illusions of dirty mist that dried anyone's throat having they remained down for a long period.
Drafts of scattered pages from books having been knocked off shelves brushed against your numb fingertips with gentle laps. Shaking running through your body as adrenaline still coursed through making all body movements jerk in their own manner as your consciousness had yet to fully awaken.
Teary eyes fluttered open as a dry cough escaped from your throat with a bitter taste of iron dripping over your tongue and out onto your lips making the appearance of a vulgar red lipstick.
Hands shaking as attempts to push your body from the hard ground resulting in the popping of the wrist on the left hand. It felt like nothing like the first thought to form out of this daze was to get up and get out of the hold.
It took forever to drag aching feet to the lift as your feet ached in all places luckily none were bleeding sustaining only minor cuts and bruises. Having to thank your markings for protecting the upper part of your body as a glance at seeing sunlight eased your growing worries.
Collapsing under anxiety was something to ponder about as the lift came to a small jolting stop. Taking careful steps to not fall over any bumps within the grass. Casting your eyes to the ground as the sun's light becomes too bright.
It felt like having been walking in the same spot for the time you had been walking, never expecting to reach the castle steps and to just collapse allowing some wild animal to come to collect your body. In some way, it seemed like your body made it through having reached the castle steps after all.
Blood dripped from your lips once more as you descended up sluggishly as your feet burned with exhaustion. The smell of iron smelled rather strong from just a small amount. A slush sound caught your ears causing you to cautiously turn around for the sake of your weening body. On two wooden spikes were the sibling's bodies innards and all splayed for all who dared come.
Exhaustion kept the emotions from getting loose as of right now you need Alucard for help. It hurt to lay down in the covers of your bed after cleaning in a lukewarm bath as the memories came calling back. Generously taking the siblings to study a few books from the Belmont hold to then suddenly be interrogated and eventually beat.
Perhaps the company wasn't what you needed after all.
