Morning with Annabeth and giant scales
I don't know how to cook and the last time I tried I almost burned the house down. So, I just heated up pop tarts in the toaster. I'm not even totally sure I know how to work a toaster and Annabeth makes fun of me a lot but seriously a toaster is high tech.
Mom left early for work. Is she and Dean a thing? I don't know. I guess it is kind of hard to date a God like my dad. We don't have much food and my mom goes to work so often. I'm not bad off. I can just order pizza over and over again.
I hear the doorbell knock. I turn the heat in the toaster down because I don't want anyone to see that I burned something, everything. I see Annabeth.
"Hey!" I smile.
"Hey... I found something worth showing you." She says.
I see her wearing a giant purse. It's almost as big as me. What the heck does she have in there?
"Alright..." I open the door.
"Why does it smell like strawberries?" She asks.
"I'm heating up pop-tarts. Want any?" I ask.
"If they aren't burnt, sure." She shrugs.
"Ha ha very funny." I say.
She puts the purse on the table. She opens it and pulls out a large surfboard. Wait... it's not a surfboard, it's a scale.
"That's a big fish scale." I say.
"It's not a fish scale. It's a dragon scale." She says.
"Was it near my house?" I ask.
"Yes." She says.
"Oh crap. I need to call Grover." I say.
"Percy, this is serious. I found these all over the woods near your house." She says.
"Dragons shed that many?" I ask.
"Yes." She says sternly.
"Okay..." I draw back.
"Percy, this is the start of a battle from an ancient war." Annabeth says.
I look up at her.
"War?" I ask.
