I slowly wake up at 7:30. Not the best time to wake up on Saturday morning but I have questions for my mom. Who was that man? Was it Mom's date? Is she even on the field? Or is this work? She has seemed very busy lately. I grab Riptide. Dean could just be some kind of monster. I'm used to facing shapeshifters. 

I stagger down. Mom made pancakes. She does this every Saturday morning and for the record I'm fine with it. Her pancakes are always good. I sit down and I'm almost ready to pop off the cap when she looks at me.

"It's nothing Percy." Mom smiles.

"Mom, it was three am. I've seen monsters and weird stuff but you coming home with a guy was one of the weirdest things ever." I say.

"He's just a friend at work." Mom says. 

"Really?" I ask.

"Percy, he's good." Mom smiles.

"Alright." I shrug. 

I then see a large furball flying towards us. I grab Mom and I hear it shatter through the window.

"Ow!" I hear a familiar yell.

I turn.

"Grover? What the heck?" I ask.

"Sorry. I was trying out a new method of travel." He stands up.

"Which is?" I ask.

"Rainbow jetpack." Grover dusts himself off.

"That's a thing?" I ask.

"Yeah." Grover says.

He sniffs around.

"Are there pancakes around?" He asks.

"Yes. Help yourself." Mom says.
