Adrienne felt a bag over her head, then hands on her, pulling her away. She didn't know what was going on. There were sounds of fighting. Was this because of her?

She was dragged down flights of stairs. "Where--?" she began, getting hit in the head.

"Zip it," someone hissed, shoving her. She stayed silent, trying to hold back tears. This was her fault. She was going to die.

Soon she was shoved again, this time with no one to catch her. She fell onto the ground, fumbling to get the bag off her head. When she finally did, she saw she was in the dungeon.

She was in a cell with a small girl and a man. When her eyes adjusted to the darkness, she recognized them as Rosalie and Adrien. "Rosie? Adrien?" she croaked. "What's going on...?"

Adrien sighed. "I can explain. After our mother was killed, I began to help people. That's when I became Robin Hood. I robbed the rich to feed the poor, just like he did in the stories.

"When I found out how Justine was treating you, I wanted to help you, but didn't know how. So I got you money. And when the news of the ball got around, I knew Justine wouldn't let you go. So I met up with Rosalie. She helped me steal a carriage, and drove it to you. I found one of mother's old dresses and gave it to you. I knew the Prince would fall in love with you. And he did.

"But when I was coming to check on you, I got caught. I was beaten by the guards, and taken to the square to be whipped. That's when you recognized me. And you know the rest."

Adrienne was speechless. Adrien had done that for her? Why? "But what about Rosie? You wouldn't rat her out, would you?"

"I turned myself in," Rosalie said softly. "I won't hang, but I'll never leave this cell."

Adrienne began to cry. Why had they done that? Now their lives were in danger! If it had just been her (though, what circumstances would that be under?), it wouldn't matter.

Adrien went to comfort her, but was pushed away. She didn't want to hurt him.

Rosalie stood in the corner of the cell, watching them. The trio drowned in the silence until Rosalie spoke up.

"We need to break out of here."
