It was as if a switch had been flipped.

In less than a second, a tension so thick that it could be cut with a knife had consumed the entire bedroom.

Shock.

Anxiety.

Fear.

Iv swallowed all those feelings back, standing her ground with a straight back and relaxed shoulders.

Letting out an innocent giggle, Ashley gave a warm smile. "No, but Alyse did, you know she can't keep a secret no matter how hard she tries."

"Alyse swore to never tell anyone about what we've found, not even our parents, she has no reason to tell you." She could feel the heat of her energy slowly flowing through the veins in her arms. "Not to mention she's much better at keeping secrets than you think."

"Maybe she trusted me enough to tell me then."

"She didn't even tell our parents about it."

"Then perhaps she's been keeping a few secrets herself, maybe she's not who you think she is."

"Stop trying to turn me against-!!" A gasp escaped Iv's lips as she finally turned around, seeing that Ashley was nowhere in sight.

Had she dreamt all of this..? Just imagining this..?

No.. that couldn't be it.. She was wide awake, Sage's earlier wake up call had proven that..

Then.. she was..

Shit, she was under attack!!

As soon as the thought came to her mind, she was able to get a tight grip on her attacker's wrist just as they were about to stab a dagger into her head. Ashley's face as the one that stared back, with a smile that was sickeningly trying to play innocent.

"I knew you'd figure it out soon, but I guess it was my bed for letting that little comment slip~.."

Without another word, Ashley's eyes became yellow, raising her empty hand to lift her latest victim up in the air before throwing them out the window with a harsh force.

Now covered in tiny cuts from the broken glass window, Iv landed on her back on the forest ground, the air being knocked right out of her lungs. Due to some miracle, or maybe dumb luck, nothing was broken, and she was able to lie on her side as she coughed and tried to catch her breath.

A soft thud was heard, making her look over to see Ashley walking over as she played with a small fireball. "Maybe you should've just never started playing detective in the first place, then you wouldn't need to be removed from the scene."

"As if I'm letting you take me that easily.." At her words, a wall of flames split the two girls apart, forcing Ashley to back away with a hiss while giving Iv a chance to run away.

She quickly tapped her pockets as she ran, managing to grab her phone, which even though had a lot of new cracks on the screen, it still functioned well. Quickly tapping the phone app, she called Lola.

"Hello?"

"Lola, trouble!! The culprit, she's-!!"

A scream escaped her lips when something wrapped around her ankle, dragging her back. The phone fell on a tree's thick roots, causing it to break on impact and end the call.

Just as she was lifted above ground, a strange smoke like scent covered her nostrils, forcing her to gag and cough at the sudden smell.

It was followed by a chuckle, and her vision slowly started to warp as she realize what had hit her face.

The blue dust..

"Poor dearest Ivangelys.." Ashley smirked as she took a few steps closer. "Here I thought you were the smartest of the bunch, I really did overestimate you."

"Y-you.. are going.. to pay for th-this..!"

"I should. That is.." She gave a wink. "If I get caught~.."

And so, Iv's eyes drifted closed, and her consciousness disappeared into an endless darkness..

Lying down in his bed, Noah stared up at his phone with a worried expression. He had called her about half an hour ago, and yeah, she was going through a rough time, but she usually always has her phone on her.

She would've at least sent a message..

Had something happened..?

N-no, of course not, she's stronger than that. She wouldn't let herself be taken.

Right..?

Lola? Why would she call him?

"H-Hello?"

"Noah, where are you?!"

"At home, why?"

"Iv just called me, she was trying to warm be about something and then the call suddenly ended!! Get to her house as soon as possible!!"

His blood ran cold at her words, his heart pausing for a second. "A-alright, I'm on my way!"
