"Uh... black beetle eyes?" I asked. Snape's mouth twisted. "Incorrect." He said, drawing the word out unusually long. "The correct answer would have been pickled rat spleens, which you should know. Find page 226 in your books."
I nodded and flipped my book to page 227. "It's page 226 you daft dimbo." Susan laughed. My stomach flipped around. "Of course." I said, going back to the page. After class, I walked out with Hannah and Susan. They were nice, but whenever they got a chance to get a dig at me, they certainly would. "No offense, but where did you get your wand? No offense, but is your hair originally that color? No offense but you might just be the worst student in our year." Each comment stung more than the last. How were these girls sorted into hufflepuff? Guilty thoughts aside, I couldn't handle them for much longer. Susan opened her mouth and I absurdly blurted out, "No offense!" She gave me a questioning look. "Hi Bella!" Cho said, walking beside us.
Hannah gripped Susans tightly. "How's it going so far?" Cho asked. "Not well." I admitted hesitantly. "That's tough! Luna has a few classes in the year above so you may get to see her. She's of the good sort, and so is her friend Ginny." Cho said, her voice soft and sweet. "Thanks." I replied. "Have you seen my turnip earrings? They've gone missing. I suspect Nargles had something to do with it." A soft, dreamy voice said. "Hello Luna." Cho said, smiling a little too widely. Luna, not suspecting anything, just smiled back. "Nargles?" I whispered. "I don't know. I think she made them up." Cho whispered back. "Ooooh are you having a private conversation!? May I join?" Luna asked them. "Well I have to get to flying class but Cho here would love to chat with you." I said grinning and backing away. "Great! We can find those petty nargles together!" Cho laughed.
"Now, mount your broom. Tuck your legs, fly five feet high, do three laps around the course and come back down again." Madam Hooch said. I swear my mouth fell open. I've never even mounted a broom, much less actually flew. "M-Madam Hooch. I've never flown before."
"Ah right, Bella Good, never ridden. Go to the corner of the field, prop a broom and say 'up'!" Madam Hooch said, clearly impatient with me. I nodded hesitantly and placed down the dusty old broom. "Are you telling me you don't use these things to sweep?" Alyssa said, confused. I laughed. "You know, witch fables... you ride with the broom."
"Duh." Alyssa says glaring at me. I shrinked back with her words. Same old Alyssa, same old stupid stupid life.
