Heuningkai and Yeonjun sat in their usual spot at the usual time in the forest, hoping for the prince to arrive. The younger walked along the rim of the overgrown and cracked fountain in the small grassy clearing.

"Guys?" The two turned their head to see the blond prince stepping out from behind two trees. "Hey..." He smiled softly at Kai who refused to look him in the eye. "Let's talk, yeah?" Beomgyu took a seat next to Kai who was now fiddling with the prince's sleeve which was a cute little habit of his.

"Yeah... um, what's all this marriage stuff about? I thought you weren't going to marry?" Yeonjun asked, looking into the water of the fountain that had pooled from rain water.

"I've- decided to marry Yiren. It will be good for us."

"Us? Or the village?" Heuningkai pulled his hands away from the sleeve and stood up.

"Hey, you know that I have to do this-"

"No, no, you don't. You always get what you want and you don't have to do anything."

"This is what I want."

"That's not what you said a couple days ago! You're always going around being flirtatious and flamboyant to girls and all of a sudden you want to get married to some- some girl you just met? You're so easily persuaded!"

Yeonjun decided to just keep quiet, watching the two go at it, Kai had known Gyu longer so he felt uncomfortable saying anything.

"Yeah, well it's not my fault that you don't like girls." Beomgyu quickly slapped a hand over his mouth.

"That's not what- this is about." The youngest felt tears forming in his eyes. "You're so fucking selfish, you know? After you earn my trust you just give my secret away like candy and use it against me like- like it's an insult!" Beomgyu immediately felt a wave of guilt crash into him.

"Kai, I'm so sorry I don't know why-"

"No, you're just sorry that no one else was here to hear it." The youngest fired back in almost a whisper, not aware of the two pairs of eyes, watching them from the trees. Yeonjun glared at the prince as Kai started crying.

"What the fuck is wrong with you?!" The blue haired male pushed over the blond onto the forest floor before throwing punches and wrestling- but this time it was different, it wasn't the same wrestling like when they would fight over food or when the other would tease. No, this time it was hatred. The two were pulled apart by two strangers who seemed to be around their ages.

"Alright, calm down!" Beomgyu was yanked away from his hyung by a brunette. "Oh shit, he's the prince, what are you doing out here?"

"We're always here." Yeonjun spat at the unknown male. "Who even are you guys?" He pulled his arm away from a black haired boy.

"Taehyun, that's Soobin." The so-called Taehyun guy introduced himself along with the black haired boy who they assumed to be Soobin.

"Hey, where's your friend?"

Heuningkai couldn't stand to watch the two fight so he ran, into the forest, in a random direction, not sure where he was headed. After a long while of running, he stopped at a tree and decided to rest against it, breathing heavy as tears stained his cheeks.

The sky was starting to darken as the boy started to slip into a slumber from exhaustion and soon, hypothermia because of the heavy rain water cascading down from the angry, dark clouds looming overhead, accompanied by the occasional thunder only to be followed by a terrifying flash of light known as lighting. Kai trembled under the tree, slipping in and out of consciousness from the roaring thunder and harsh gusts of wind, chills racking through his frail figure.

Everyone looked up to see that the sky was starting to darken and the once chill wind was now harsh and cold. Raindrops quickly started falling.

"Kai! Where is he?!" Beomgyu began aimlessly calling his name and looking around for any signs of his friend.

"Beomgyu you need to calm down, we'll go back and call for a search party, it's not safe out here!" Yeonjun grabbed the prince's arm yanking him backwards toward him.

"No, we have to find him, he's terrified of thunder and lightning!"

Memories from awhile back came flooding back, Heuningkai was sleeping over at the castle and it started storming outside, he was scared. Beomgyu has suggested that they would build a blanket fort and cuddled.

"G-gyu, wake u-" Before the younger boy could finish his sentence, it was cut off by his own terrified yelp from the loud sounds of thunder and the scary flash of lightning, thankfully, it seemed to wake up the blond prince who immediately turned to Heuningkai.

"Kai, what's wrong?" Beomgyu swung his legs over his bed so he was now sitting up, facing the teary boy.

"Gyu, I'm really scared..."

The blond's memories seemed to be interrupted by unfamiliar voices and a loud boom, followed by a huge flash and crack, lighting had struck a nearby tree and it was hurdling towards the stunned boys.

"Move!" A tall man shoved himself in front of them, but instead of the tree crushing them, it broke in two, avoiding the six. It was then when they realized that the man had literally used magic to save their asses.

"Holy shit."
