Liar.

Beomgyu pulled away from the soft kiss with a blushing face. He felt all kinds of giddy, butterflies tickling at his stomach, a force tugging at his soft lips willing him to smile. But this was wrong. He was lying. To the boys. To Yiren. To himself. He was lying.

"S-Sorry... I'm-"

"No, it's okay..." Beomgyu took a deep breath. "Maybe... we could work this out, you're not all too bad, Yiren and maybe I need to start taking this whole prince thing seriously and stop messing around all the time."

"Are you sure..?" Yiren's face was a soft shade of pink. "I don't want to be pressuring you into anything- I mean, I think it's great that you want to take your responsibilities at such a young age and..." The girl trailed off, she averted her eyes from the prince.

"I'm sure." I'm lying.

"Oh, okay!" The dark haired girl smiled widely, it was cute. She stood up with a giggle. "Alright future hubby, let's get back to the oldies." The princess joked, pulling Beomgyu up and towards the castle.

"Bye, thanks for coming, I hope I'll see you soon, princess. Thank you for attending our dinner, Queen Sana." Beomgyu bowed before taking a glance at his uncle who was giving him a proud smile. After the two women had left and were being escorted to their carriage, the prince fell onto a nearby couch in exhaustion. He's had a long day.

"You two seemed to hit it off pretty well." Hyunjin came up behind him, causing the boy to yelp and jump out of his seat, his crown now lopsided on his head.

"Hyunjin, you need to stop giving me heart attacks!"

"Have you decided you want to marry her?" The dark haired servant asked, ignoring the boy's complaints.

"If it's what brings the kingdoms together... she seems nice and she's got an amazing personality... what could go wrong?"

─ ⋆✩⋆ ─

"BEOMGYU."

"In his room!"

The news that Beomgyu agreed to marry the princess spread like wildfire over the couple of days, and saying the boy's were pissed was an understatement. They both made their way to the prince's bedroom before almost breaking the door open, not giving two shits about his privacy.

"WHAT THE HELL, MAN!" Yeonjun was fuming, they never ever lied to each other. "Why is everyone telling us that you're getting married to Princess Yiren??" The boy's stood there, very upset as the prince was in the middle of changing.

"Ugh, can we talk about it later? I don't have time to mess around right now, I have a meeting with a tailor for my new suit in an hour." Beomgyu reaches for his crown which he placed on his head after fixing his hair in the mirror.

"Okay, what the fuck, since when do you care about your royal princey stuff and since when do you wear your crown??"

"Since now, can we not talk right now?! You guys are so annoying..." Beomgyu pushed past them. "If you wanna talk so bad meet me in the forest later." The prince stormed down the hallways leaving his two dumbfounded friends in silence, watching the boy drift farther away.

"What's up with him..? It's only been a couple of days..." Heuningkai felt a lump in his throat as tears threatened to spill at any moment.

"I don't know, but we'll find out soon, let's go help Jimin hyung in the horse stables, I'm sure he'll need some help," Yeonjun smiled softly trying to cheer up the now, sniffling and hiccuping boy. "Especially with that new rowdy horse, Mickey, okay?" After receiving a nod, he pulled the younger into a hug before giving him a piggyback ride to the stables.

"You've gotten heavier."

"I'm- growing..." The boy stated through sniffles and hiccups, wiping his puffy eyes and red nose, tired from crying. "I want milk bread..."

"Milk bread?"

"M-Mhm..." Kai sobbed into the elder's shoulder, he was known for being sensitive and when he started crying, he couldn't stop.

"Awww you big baby, we've been walking for ten minutes." Yeonjun teased before sitting him down on a bench to let him cry. "Don't worry, I'm sure he's just busy, he'll make time for our epic sleepover, promise." The elder took a seat next to him, trying his hardest to not go find Beomgyu and strangle him for being a huge jerk face meanie.

The two boys got up to help Jimin at the stables. "Hyung! Gyu is being weird so we came to help you!" Heuningkai launched himself at the older male who was sweeping.

"Ack! Kai- you've gotten heavier!" Jimin swung the youngest around before setting him down. "Thanks for coming by to help, Ruby stepped on Jennie's leg today," Yeonjun cringed at the thought. "So, she'll be out for a couple weeks, can you go pick out pebbles from the horse shoes please?"

Kai nodded and quickly chose Ruby and Scarlett so he didn't have to deal with Mickey and Byeolie, the two most rowdy and annoying horses. The boy went over to Scarlett, a black horse with a beautiful mane.

"Hey, Scarlett! Aw, let's get those pesky pebbles out of your horse shoe!"

Beomgyu thanked the tailor, his name was Chan or something but he was cool, told a lot of jokes while doing his measurements. "Chan, I'm expecting the suit to be finished by next Tuesday since we have a time crunch, thank you, you're dismissed!" The blond bowed to the elder as he packed the rest of his things and made his way out.

"You're acting weird, since when did you want to get married and do all this grown up stuff? I don't want to take away your childhood." The king sighed in concern, this wasn't the prince that would sneak out and go on adventures with the boys or scare Seokjin and help Hoseok and Jimin with the horses.

"Yeah, well, now I'm getting married and I need to take things more seriously... for our people..."

"I swear I read that in a book somewhere- seriously, you're scaring me."

"I'm trying to be serious for once!" Beomgyu gave a pout before sitting himself on his bed.

"I heard your guys' argument today... you really should go meet them, they're good kids, Gyu, don't forget about them."

"I could never forget about them..." They'd pester him too much to forget. "You're right though, I'll go meet them. Don't wait for me if I'm not back before supper!" The prince made his way out of his room after tossing his crown on his bed.

"Be careful!"

"Can't make any promises!"

"That's the spirit!"
