roeclan lives deep within a soft-lit, green forest. they live peacefully among the plentiful herds of roe deer who graze around their territory. in some ways, they assist each other; the clan cats will know when danger is near, seeing as a frantic herd of deer will catch anyone's attention- it also brings in small prey items near, searching for dropped meals. the roe deer are eased of the small rodents and birds whenever the patrols hunt, for they are pests no-one likes around- the cats also are able to offer herbs to the herd if one of their herdmembers fall ill, or are injured.

roeclan's starclan resides in the roe deer. their substitute for a moonpool or stone, is the deer elders. a leader or medicine cat will seek out the hollow where the elder roe deer reside, and speak with them to reach their ancestors. the elder deer hold a special quality that allows a cat to fall asleep under their protection and to contact their dead.
despite there being allowed only one leader, there are two deputies required. the next leader is picked if one of the two deputies die before the leader being able to choose a next one, if one of the deputies step down for the other to step up, and when both deputies are fit and willing to become leader, they will both seek the elder roe deer and there will be a trial of wits, strength, speed, and whatever it takes until the elder deer decide who is worthy. only then will the cat be allowed to visit their ancestors
the reason behind three medicine cats, is because the clan also tends to roedeer. one is a stay-at-camp medicine cat, and one is the cat who is always back-and-forth between clan and herd. the middle is for when one or the other cannot do their job, they step in- or if there is two needed for a job, or herbs need to be quickly transported. the apprentices are trained by a single medicine cat.
