『Chapter 42』
Honestly, by this point, I don't know why I followed the season 2 timeline.

The whole trip to the mansion gave you a hammer to your head. You hated this. Despite how many times you tried to put on a strong facade. You didn't want fear to take over you yet here you were.
You stepped down the carriage, facing your old enemies. You swallowed a lump in your throat, gathering all of your strengths to face them. To face him.
Sebastian got a grip of your hand, giving you a gentle squeeze. He leaned over, whispering in your ear, "It's all right, my dear. Don't let him see your fear." A shiver ran down your spine as you exhaled slowly. Ciel stepped forward, confronting his enemy. You saw Alois plastered a smirk, welcoming the three of you. His eyes landed on you as his grin widened.
"My my, is that Y/n I see?" He cheered slyly. You frowned, fighting the fear you had locked up. Eventually, your eyes landed on Claude, who had been planting his eyes to you since you arrived. That devilish golden pair that had been haunting you for many moons. You looked away, your fist formed into a ball.
You didn't bother to listen to the young nobles conversations as the three of you were then introduced to an enormous chessboard. After they parted, Ciel made his way to you.
Sebastian went to one knee, hand to his chest. "Your orders, young master?" Ciel nodded as you bowed your head slightly. "Bring Alois Trancy down to my knees." He paused, looking at you. "Fight back, Y/n. That's an order." He demanded. Your eyes nearly expanded at his words. He and all his pride got you bowing your head. "Yes, master." You even respond by calling his title.
----
"I order you to make Ciel Phantomhive mine." Alois spit his tongue, his seal glowed brightly. The butler obeyed, putting a hand to his chest. "Yes, your high–"
"And one more thing." Claude looked up at his master, who had his eyes on the female on the other side.
"Put an end to Y/n's life. If there is one thing blocking my path, it's her. Besides, I'm sick of seeing the sight of her here." Alois scoffed, staring down at his butler. Claude was somehow taken back at his words, seeing how he still desired her. His lips quivered to say the words. Nevertheless, he couldn't say no.
"Yes, your highness."

"Dance Macabre!"
You mapped out your strategy as you saw the other servants prepped themselves up. Sebastian found his way across Claude. You hailed the triplets' attention to the other side, looking for some kind of a weapon. They started to corner you, you rolled over, catching a polearm. They marched at you in speed, throwing punches here and there. Three on one, you were overwhelmed by their power. One of them struck your torso, throwing you back. You let out a grunt, standing back up. You saw them picking up a weapon each.
Stabbing the pike to the ground, you lifted yourself off the ground. You saw one of them dashed at you holding another spear. He pushed it at you but you blocked his attack using your own. Another one from behind you, using a sword. You clenched your jaw, pulling the one ahead of you by his spear and dragged him back, hitting his twin. An arrow shot right beside your head, turning back, you saw the last one with a crossbow. You kicked the sword one of them dropped, taking it in your hands and threw it at him, clashing his bow and through his chest.
One down. Two to go.
You didn't have a chance to look but you knew probably by now, Sebastian was almost finished than you were with the other butler. You gasped a breath when one of the two locked your neck with a pole. You saw the other one getting ready to slash you with a sword. You threw your head back, hitting one of them on his nose. Gripping onto the pole, you tackled the sword from his hand.
"I didn't even know if you could even talk back then. Now you're trying to kill me?!" You hissed, easily piercing the pike to his throat. You didn't hesitate to even do so. The third one behind you rose back to his feet. You rolled over to him, grabbing the sword on the way. He didn't get a chance to parry when you suddenly stabbed him through his stomach. You threw him with the others as you took in a deep breath.
"Agh!" You shrieked, feeling a sting on your skin. Looking to your side, Hannah was on her heavy-machine gun, aiming at you. Another bullet scared your cheek as you flipped over, trying to dodge them. You hid behind one of the giant chess pieces, shielding your head from the debris of the stone being hit by the bullets.
The sounds of the bullets ringed your ear as you looked around, searching for anything to protect yourself. You saw the crossbow from before not so far away. While Hannah was busy with her gun, you reloaded the bow and held it in your hands, waiting for the right moment. Seeing how the bullets were coming to an end when she stopped for a slight second, you jumped, aiming your bow at her. She didn't saw you coming. You grinned slightly, pulling the trigger. The arrow penetrated perfectly on her throat, sending her backwards.
You pulled out your signature dagger, running to her. But before you could take another step, your path was blocked.
"Now now, Y/n dear. I think it's time for tea."
Your eyes expanded at the sight of Claude inches away from your face. Your face wrinkled in fear as he held your left wrist in the air, his other free hand behind your waist. You trembled when he slithered his fingers under your sleeve, brushing onto your skin where he had left his mark. Your heart rate accelerated, breath becoming unstable. His gold eyes pierced to yours, planting the memories in your head. For a second, you felt like dark clouds circled you as you tried to wiggle your way out.
"Is it time already? Then why don't you prepare it and get off of her?"
Sebastian made his way to you, throwing his leg at Claude. He easily jumped back before he could get hit after he tossed you down the floor. Sebastian extended his arm ahead of you, shielding you with his body. "Stay away from her. That's my final warning." He spoke rather menacingly. You tried to catch your breath, moving back. Claude cast a smirk, fixing his glasses. "My apologies," he played out.
Sebastian turned to you, offering you a hand. "You're all right, Y/n. Nothing to be afraid of." He whispered, pulling you to your feet. You gripped his hand for a while, seeking the smallest comfort he could give. He brushed his thumb to the back of your hand, giving his gesture of love.
"... A break would sound nice." You tiredly said, shaking off your thoughts.
Claude watched the scene from afar, his eye twitched at the affection Sebastian was providing to you. He longed for that position, just not the right way.

"Now we begin. Dance Macabre!" Claude started the second round. After the whole food debacle, the battle swiftly continued. Not so long ago, Ciel had asked Alois to gave him a tour around the estate, which you probably guessed he was off to get his revenge. This time, Claude pulled a sword out of Hannah's stomach through her throat. He flicked all of the salivae away, displaying it to you.
"That's... The legendary demon sword!" You loudly whispered to Sebastian. You didn't get the chance to speak another when Claude split you apart. He mainly attacked Sebastian, which he found good because he didn't want you to be harmed.
You clutched onto your dagger, seeing how this wouldn't turn out so well. Then out of nowhere, Claude trapped Sebastian into a deadly spider web of his. Every string was merely a finger away from his skin, touching it would make him bleed. Thus Sebastian was trapped, just as Claude wanted. "Troubling?" He curved his lips into a grin, seeing his rival weakened.
You watched from afar, eyes shaking as you try to hold your composure. Claude dragged his gaze to you, eyes flashing a quick pink colour. You clenched your teeth, gripping onto your dagger tightly.
"Y/n! Run!" Sebastian shouted, his head turned, one of the strings grazed his cheek. You couldn't move or even spoke a word. Your hands shook, seeing Claude walking closer to you. You couldn't possibly leave Sebastian like that, even so, you didn't want to be here anymore.
Fear became a tangible, living force that crawled over you like some greedy beast, immobilizing you, holding you captive. You took in a shaky breath, the hairs on your neck rising as you took a few steps back. "Now, Y/n. Would you play with me?" Claude slurred, dragging the sword to the floor.
At every step he took, you trembled even more. Your feet felt like they were glued to the ground, sweats dripping from your forehead. "You know, my dear. You shouldn't have left in the first place." He sneered, lifting his sword. You knew he enjoyed this. He was eating out of your fear. Yet you couldn't move an inch.
You saw Sebastian staring at you, you knew if you move a muscle to him, Claude would jeopardise your path. Sebastian was desperately trying to figure out another way around but every move he made could probably kill him.
You swallowed your fear, collecting your strength. Logically, it was impossible to beat him while he held an actual sword that could kill living demons while you only held a small dagger. You had to do this. You had to fight.
"You'll be better if you're with me. I guarantee." He swung his sword in the air, catching your attention. You gasped slightly, moving over in speed. He missed his swing, snapping to you. If there was one thing in your head, you had to take the sword away from him.
Sebastian gritted his teeth, watching you cornered by him. He fought off the pain when he tried to break off the string that entangled him.
Meanwhile, you were struggling to dodge more of Claude's attack. He swung his sword to you which you luckily countered with your blade. You pushed him back with all your strength, slashing your blade to his face, scraping his cheek. He chuckled lightly, wiping off the blood. "All that for a little scratch?" You saw an opening when he sneered, blowing a punch to his abdomen and shoved him back. He staggered for a little while as he lost his grip on his sword
Now that you saw him unarmed, you marched towards him, blade in hand. He dodged your first attack, throwing a hit at you before you countered him. You flipped your dagger, bringing it up to him.
Unfortunately, Claude easily got a hold of your wrist. You released a small gasp, staring into him. He gripped your throat, yanking away your dagger. You saw it flew across the board. He threw his leg to you, sending you backwards.
Before you could even sit back up, you saw him flying towards you. At first, you felt nothing. But then your stomach felt hot. You breathed a gasp when you realized that he'd impaled you with the demon sword he took back. The weapon that could kill a literal demon.
"Y/N!" You heard a scream. You started to feel dizzy as he bent over, gripping your throat. "I told you, dear. You shouldn't have left." He whispered to your ear, giving your jaw a small lick. You seethed through your teeth, feeling the pain that shot up as he started to twist the blade in you. You writhed in agony, trying to pull out the blade.
You gritted your teeth, coughing up a little blood. You felt dizzy as your vision darkened. You couldn't describe how powerful the blow was. You felt cold suddenly, feeling his slender finger running down your cheek. You were tired. You couldn't move. You couldn't breathe. You blinked slowly for the last time as the world around you faded.
Is this...how it ends?... heh... Pathetic
