『Chapter 33』

As much as you didn't want to admit it, Kelvin was starting to frighten you with his madness. All along, He never stopped talking about what happened to Ciel in the place years ago that now he recreated. Ciel seemed to be intimidated, his memories unfolding in his mind. You understood him, sadly.

"I've prepared everything just as it was back then," Kelvin spoke, he grinned and opened his arms, gesturing to the room. He wheeled around the room, pointing out every detail. He turned back to Ciel, pointing to him.

"The ritual chamber...the lambs... and finally... You, My lord!" With that words of his, Ciel fired his gun, blood spilt out of Kelvin's stomach. He gasped a breath, holding his wound as he fell off his chair. You watched the scene with wide eyes, taking a step back.

Your eyes darted to Joker and Dawn as they screamed out, "Father!!" Joker managed to get off Sebastian's grip. He ran towards Ciel, pulling out a sword from his prosthesis hand. He aimed towards Ciel but Sebastian slashed off his arm before he could reach him. Joker shrieked in pain as he toppled over.

"JOKER!" She screamed. She ran after him but you moved quickly. You yanked her wrist, twisting her arms behind her, holding her back. She let out a pained cry as you pushed her against a pillar.

I the corner of your eye, Kelvin crawled to Ciel and held his feet. "I- I beg you, Earl. If you're going to kill me, kill me like you-" Ciel shut him by tossing his head and stepping on it. He narrowed his eyes, pointing the gun to his head.

Dawn struggled under your grip but she managed to face Ciel, "Please don't kill him. He may be like that, but he saved us. All of us!" She whimpered, her voice shaking.

Ciel didn't seem to care, he looked back at her, "So that's why you kidnapped these children?..." He paused, turning down to Joker, "Only to obey this man's orders?" Joker breathed a gasp and dropped his head in shame. He silently whispered, "Yes." Acknowledging Ciel's words.

"People like us, Britain is nothing short of hell. But Father found us." Dawn spoke up, fighting back her cries. Hearing her words made your brows knitted. Somehow, you felt bad for these people... Because they were like you. Your grip loosened as you thought about her words. If what they were saying were true, you could relate. Joker slammed his fist to the marble floor, "We know we were wrong from the beginning,-"

"You did the right thing," Ciel interrupted his words. "Huh?"

"There are two kinds of people in this world. Those who steal and those who got stolen." Ciel paused, holding his gun up, "And today, I steal you and your allies of the future." Ciel raised his head, his blue eye shining from the light. You could feel the tension got thicker until Joker suddenly lied on his back and laughed hysterically.

"You guys will lose something tonight. The troops are on their way to that manor of yours." Joker spoke out, putting his hand on his abdomen. You raised a brow at his words, letting him continue. "And they will take down those servants." He finished.

"You mean the Phantomhive servants," you grinned. "Who else?!" Dawn barked, nudging you behind. Ciel was the first one to let it a sublet laugh before Sebastian joined. You followed them soon, "What's so funny?" Joker asked, glancing at you.

"Those 'servants' are more than you think." You put up a small sinister grin. "You underestimate them. Then that is your biggest mistake." You chuckled once more, seeing the fears on their faces.

"For those are the servant of the Phantomhive family," Ciel warned Joker that the servants of the Phantomhive house were practically a small army, capable of eradicating intruders. Concerned, Joker quietly wished that at least the first-tier members of Noah's Ark Circus would wonder what could have been done differently. You felt Dawn shaking under your grip as she silently cried.

When all of a sudden, all of your attention was drawn to a person who appeared from the entrance door, you were surprised to see the doctor there. "Oh, I never thought you'd be here." He seemed to be surprised to see the three of you as well. He stood up as you were shocked to see him tally capable of walking. He noticed that Baron Kelvin was dead. He then started to explain why he needed these children, It turned out the artificial limbs he makes were actually created from the bodies of children. "You mean-"

Your eyes widened as you put a hand over your mouth. Your gaze fell to the children in the cages, thinking what they had and would go through. Dawn hitched a breath as Joker cried aloud, feeling disgusted as he punched the ground a few times.

The doctor opened the door to one of the cage door and pulled out a little girl, dragging her to the stone table. Dawn fought back, she threw her head back, hitting you in the process. You grunted as she slipped out of your grip. She rushed to the doctor, pulling his coat.

"What are you- You mean what we did to these children was to-..." The doctor didn't let her finish as he plunged a knife onto her out of nowhere. She gripped his hand, pleading mercy as she looked at him. But left her nothing and let her drop to the cold floor.

"Dawn!" Joker shrieked, crawling beside her.

"Heh... I never liked her anyway." The doctor said, cleaning his knife as he put it back to his coat. You were lying if you said you weren't shocked, and at the same time, frightened.
"Well, I guess this will make it a lot easier..." The doctor said, raising his knife and stabbing the girl on the table, an ear-to-ear grin spread on his face.

Ciel screamed to the top of his lungs, remembering his past days. He threw up and covered his mouth, bending his body over as his eyes shook. You took a shaky breath, trying to soothe yourself. You saw Sebastian approaching him, gently pulling him up.

"Master, you're not in the cage anymore..." He whispered and held Ciel's hand covered with his saliva. "Now, young master..." Sebastian paused as he pulled Ciel's eyepatch, letting it fall to the floor. Sebastian grinned devilishly as he stared down at his prey, hungry for his soul.

"Say my name."

Ciel stuttered out his name a few times, saliva trailed from his lips.

"Kill them all!!"

In an instant, Sebastian launched to the doctor and killed him by just impaling him with his bare hand. He went back to Kelvin, making sure that he was dead.

Meanwhile you. You were standing there, trying to process everything. You felt your hands shaking, the guilt you had for mistaking these people. They didn't even know what they were told to do, why did they do it. They were just fighting for their living. Your eyes darted to Joker as he held Dawn's lifeless body beneath him.

Sebastian flicked the blood from his hand, "I've finished, young master."

"Burn the place to the ground," Ciel ordered casually, which made you snapped out. "What?! But what about the children?!" Ciel gritted his teeth, throwing his head to you,

"Just do it! Even if we try to save these children, we can't get them back to who they are before. Burn it, Sebastian! THAT'S AN ORDER!" He yelled and tightened his grip on Sebastian. You frowned, starting at the young boy. Somehow Ciel was right. Looking at these children's faces made you certain that nothing could bring them back.

Sebastian glanced at you before he sighed. He took off his left glove by biting it as he then walked to a nearby candle and burst out the fire.

"Yes, my lord."

As soon as Sebastian controlled the fire, he jumped out of the mansion after he glanced at you. You were about to step out until Joker spoke up behind you, "I've always thought you were different," he trembled. You stiffened, tears threatening to spill out.

"I could see it on your face... You can relate... To us." You let him continue, looking back at him over your shoulder. He protected his sister from the fire spreading out around him. "What you're doing to us, do you think we're the only bad guys?" He finished, looking at you dead in the eye.

You let out a shaky breath, "I'm sorry," you trembled, tears trailing down your cheek. You turned back to him, repeating, "I'm so sorry," before you rushed out the manor before it took your life as well.

You met up with the two as you stepped out. Ciel looked at you coldly as he told Sebastian to go back to the carriage. You watched them walked back through your hurry eyes. The crackling fire and the broken windows behind you bothered you. You cupped your ears as you heard quiet screams. You remembered the last time you watched a house burned down. You didn't dare to turn back. You clenched your teeth, trying to fight back your memories from flooding back as you bent over.

A sound of a horse stoped by knocked you back to your senses. You took in a sharp breath, looking up. Freckles appeared with a horse, "S-Smile?" He looked to Ciel then to you.

"Black...Wonder?! What..?!" He cried. He had a short conversation with Ciel. You didn't bother to listen as you unconsciously followed Sebastian and stopped beside him.

Figuring out that Sebastian was the one who burned the mansion, Freckles pulled out a knife and rushed to Ciel, obviously trying to kill him as he screamed out.

"Y/n..." Ciel spoke out, your eyes twitched at your name. "No witnesses." He whispered. You didn't bother to look back at him as you gulped. You shook the years off your face and walked up to Freckles.

It felt like time was slowed down as you casually walked up to him while he raged at you, a silver blade in his hands. "I'm sorry, Freckles." With that said, you snatched his knife easily, yanking his arm as you turned him around. You pressed him against your body as you stabbed his abdomen with the knife. He let out a breath, choking on his words. His weight caused you to toppled to the floor as you watched the light left his eyes.

"...I'm sorry."

>>>

That night back at the townhouse, you couldn't sleep. Your body was covered with the sheet, but your eyes were open wide. The image of them dying kept playing in your mind. You hated it. You hated it all.

Sighing, you got off your bed, didn't even bother to put on a robe. Your feet dragged you to the window. You needed to clear your mind. You sat on the window seat, leaning your head to the glass as you gazed into the starry night.

Just as you thought, Sebastian knocked on the room. You didn't bother to answer knowing he would enter with or without your permission. "I knew you weren't asleep." You heard him say. He closed the door and his footsteps came closer to you.

"You okay?" He asked in concern. You kept your eyes on the view as you shook your head slowly. "Why did I do that?" You questioned, referring to the last few hours. Sebastian heaved a breath before he placed a hand on your shoulder, "Y/n, I understand-" you slapped his hand and cut him off.

"No! No, you don't understand! How could you?! You spent hundreds of years being a demon! Serving masters here and there! I understand them! You never know what's it like to live in the slums of England! Neither does the young master! He lived his life as a noble from he was born! Now, these people..." You burst into tears, biting your lip as you regained your breath.

You quivered, "I know these people did horrible things. But they were desperate... They were once like me. Finding a way to survive. To live... And I killed them." Your lips trembling as you then looked down at your hands. And blood was all you saw.

"I tried... So hard... To not get my hands dirty again... But here we are." You mumbled, a few quiet sobs escaped your lips, your shoulders started to shook.

You knew you murdered people before. But they deserve it. It felt different. But these folks... These... Children... They just wanted to live. They didn't have a choice. They were the same as you except they had worse. Joker was right. You could relate.

Sebastian stepped up, he curled your hands in his, closing them as he brushed his thumbs to your skin. "I know they're desperate. And you're right, I don't understand." Sebastian spoke up, his warm touch gave you comfort. "But what I do understand is that people like them usually have the kindest hearts, they are too kind for this cruel world." He continued to a stop. You lifted your head to him, locking your gaze.

"And you, my darling, are one of them. You don't deserve to be treated the way you were. You have a soft heart. A kindness beyond anyone's imagination." Sebastian put up a genuine smile, reaching your hands in his up to his lips.

"You may not realize that but you should." He grinned, locking his gaze into yours. Your heart warmed by his words as you tried to come up with a word but nothing came out of your lips. Sebastian pulled you into his arms, just where you wanted to be. "I'm sorry you had to go through that." He softly whispered. You let out a few tears, clutching onto his back as he soothed you. You settled into his warm embrace as the night went by.
