『Chapter 32』

Ciel cleared his throat, raising his face, "You're Lord Kelvin?" Ciel started, looking at the man. "That's right! Ah, that formality makes me a bit shy." Kelvin replied, laughing nervously t his remark. He gestured to the room, "I've prepared a feast for you!"

The door opened again to reveal Joker with a trolley, along with several children behind him, all dressed up as a maid. You weren't lying if you said you weren't surprised by this one. Yes, you knew about the kidnappings, but you never thought he had this many children. Your jaw hanged slightly as the children served the dishes on the table. You scanned their face one by one, you pitied them. Their pale faces and robotic movements disturbed you.

Joker served Ciel a glass of wine. Sebastian had to taste it first to check If it is poisoned or not. He gave it back to Ciel and told him it was harmless. "I've no interest in eating a meal put on by brats," Ciel spoke up sternly, pushing off the dish. Even if you were served one, you already lost your appetite.

"Now, those children. It seems we can assume that there are more victims than the police knew." Ciel whispered, you hummed in response. You lowered your head to him, "He didn't just take them, he did something to them. Something horrible," you whispered, a sudden cold run down your spine. "We'll figure it out soon."

"Oh, I know. A meal without entertainment will bore you." Kelvin spoke, glancing at Ciel. "Joker! Both of you! Put on your show." He requested, glancing at Joker then at Dawn. Joker seemed to be in denial but Kelvin insisted.

Joker sighed and he glanced at Dawn. Not a single smile appeared on each of their faces. They got on top of the stage in front of the table. Dawn took off her jacket that was tied to her waist, flipped it inside out and wore it.

"Welcome, Lord Phantomhive!" Joker greeted, whirling his cane around. He put a hand to his chest, bowing slightly. "Tonight, we'll take you to a world of thrilling enchantment!" Dawn bent over a forced smile on her face. The curtains behind them cleared, revealing plenty of pale-faced children in a line just like the ones you saw before. All of them wore masks and hats. Your eyes widened as more of them appeared before you turned to Kelvin. How insane was this man?

"First, tightrope!" Joker pointed to a rope above him. You dragged your gaze up, spotting a little girl on the pole. "A very common acts as they say but this one is sure different!" Dawn exclaimed, throwing her hand up. The masked girl had a stick on her hand, to balance her way to the other side.

"No safety net this time, my lovelies!" Joker shouted. As the girl walked on the tightrope, just a few steps, she fell hard to the floor. You jerked as the disturbing sound echoed to the room. Blood started to spread from where she has fallen. Another child pulled her away, leaving blood trails from where she to the side.

Joker winced a little, clenching his teeth, feeling guilty after what he'd done. Dawn closed her eyes and shivered, guilt lingering on her face. While Kelvin sat across, laughing like a maniac.

"Next up, our lion tamer!" Joker breathed out shakily as he announced. "No, please don't." You whimpered, stepping back.

A red cage came into the view, showing up a boy and a lion inside it, parted by an iron gate. As the other children opened the separator of the cage, the lion immediately galloped to the boy and feasted him. You let out a small gasp, immediately covering your mouth. Joker continued the show, still having guilt on his face. Kelvin still sitting there laughing, and enjoying what he saw. Dawn looked away, a single tear trailed down her cheek.

You felt a tug inside of you, you fought your demon side, pushing it down. You squinted your eyes, looking away as you dug your fingernails into your hand.

"And now, our knife-thrower!" Joker continued.

A boy in a blue outfit and a girl on a circle board appeared on stage. The boy prepared a knife in his hand and was about to throw it. The boy threw the knife at high speed at the girl. Joker covered his face knowing that it will hit the girl in the head.

You shut your eyes as Sebastian rushed to the stage. He caught the knife right before it hit the girl's head, few inches away from her head. You opened your eyes, letting out a subtle breath. Sebastian untied the girl's mask and read the file of the missing children he held. He identified and reported it to Ciel.

"That settles it. Right as always, young master." Sebastian said. Ciel nodded, "Forcing children you abducted to perform..." He stated. You soothed yourself and looked at Ciel.

"Yes. I suppose this is one way to enjoy the circus." Sebastian continued. He walked back to you, placing a firm hand on your waist, "Are you okay?" He concerned. You nodded briefly, tapping his chest. "I'm fine. You were right on time."

"So-sorry... you didn't like this, either?" Kelvin stuttered, trying to keep Ciel stay. "I am done here." Ciel raised his voice and stood up, the glass of wine spilt on the table at the quake.

He slowly walked over to Kelvin, "I'm not in the habit of sharing a with riffraff lower than farming animals," he continued. "This will do for my report to the queen: I found the foul, vulgar, unsightly, perverted brute..." Ciel paused as he stood in front of Kelvin. He looked down at him, eyes fierce.

"And I disposed of him." Ciel ended his sentence by pointing a pistol at Kelvin's head. In a second, Joker and Dawn jumped down the stage. Joker pulled out a sword, dragging it at Ciel and Sebastian pushed a knife to Joker's neck. Dawn held a pistol, she fiddled with the trigger as you moved aside her, pressing your dagger on her throat from behind.

"You wouldn't actually kill me, would you?" She dragged her eyes to you, saying a few words. You frowned, "Do it, I won't hesitate to kill you back." She hitched a breath at your response.

"Joker!! Both of you. Don't point that dangerous thing to the Earl!!" Kelvin spoke up, breaking the tension. Joker tried to plead him, he had no choice but to put his sword down, and so did Dawn. Sebastian grabbed each of their weapons.

"That's enough! Lord Kelvin, where did you keep the children you kidnapped?" Ciel remarked, still pointing a gun at Kelvin's head. Kelvin laughed shortly, "Oh! You want to meet them..." He paused as he looked at Ciel with another creepy grin.

"They are in the cellar. I'll take you there, right away! There's something there I want to show you anyway." He finished. He faced Dawn and pointed to her. "You know where it is!" Kelvin demanded. Dawn sighed and pushed him out of the room, the rest of you followed behind her, stopping in front of an elevator. She looked down in shame as she pushed the down button.

The elevator chimed as the door opened, all of you stepped into the small space as the door closed afterwards. "I'm just so happy... I've been filled with regret ever since that day," Kelvin spoke up, clasping his hands.

"What are you talking about?" Ciel asked him. Kelvin let out another laugh, "No more regret can turn back this time." Kelvin continued. The elevator chimed and the door opened up. Dawn pushed the wheelchair out. She guided the rest of you down the hall, stopping in front of a big wooden door.

"Here it is!!" Kelvin exclaimed as Joker opened the double door. Ciel lost his breath at what he saw that made his jaw drop. Sebastian narrowed his eyes at the sight as you looked at both of them completely oblivious.

All you saw was a white chamber, a stone table in the middle and three cages aside it, filled with nothing but unconscious children. A familiar symbol lied underneath the stone table.

"I'm afraid it took me three years to get ready." Said Kelvin as Dawn wheeled him inside. Ciel was trembling and his hands were shaking. You looked at him, confused with his sudden change. You had never seen him in fear before, you figured this had something to do with his past. Now that you think about it, you and he shared something in common.

"What's this place?" You whispered to Sebastian. He scanned the room entirely, "It looks like he remade the place where the master and I met," Sebastian answered. You gasped and looked at the traumatized Ciel. "You mean when he..."

"Yes." You suddenly felt pity for the boy. You remembered him talking about how he was branded when he was younger. You knew how it felt like, except that you were older when you experienced the same thing. You wanted to put a comforting hand to his shoulder, but you recoiled.

"Now Lord Phantomhive, let's repeat that day three years ago."
