『Chapter 13』

Another random chapter from the episode. Still don't know why I did it but I did it so okay then I guess. It's the episode where Ciel told the servants to take a photo of Sebastian. I'm sorry I rewatched the episode and I forgot how adorable the servants are😭😭

***

Another month had passed and though as a simple maid, you very much enjoyed the new life of yours. Could say you bonded with the others very well.

At one moment, Ciel called the servants and you to his study for a matter to discuss, for some reason. Immediately, you followed suit, the trio trailing behind you, along with Tanaka, ... In his mini form.

You knocked on his door, peeking in as you owned the door slightly. "You requested us, young master?" You said, seeing him, as always, sitting on his chair behind his desk. We walked over to his desk, forming a line as Ciel put his hand on his desk.

"So then, what is this matter you wanted to discuss?" Mey-rin was the first one to ask, fidgeting with her fingers. "There's a special job I want you all to do."

When the words escaped his lips, you opened your mouth to say a word until the trio jumped in excitement, praising themselves for the job Ciel offered. You stared at them as they hugged each other, raising a brow.

Guess these guys never had Ciel to do a job for them, beside household chores.

"I'm relieved! I thought the young master was going to fire us for sure!" Finny cheered, a smile on his feature.

Nope. I guessed wrong.

You turned back to Ciel, watching him as he bent over, picking something up. He put the item on the desk as he started to explain it. "This is one of the items that Talbot is said to have collected, a camera with a past. I heard this long lost item had suddenly come up at an auction, and I went to quiet trouble to acquire it."

You tilted your head at the camera, recognising the name. "Talcum?" Finny asked, completely unaware. You shook your head, facing him. "Talbot. William Henry Fox Talbot. I've heard his name before. He's a scientist if I'm correct." You gave them a brief explanation. Not that you know or interested in any much of it, his name was just thrown here and there when you were younger.

You jumped slightly when Tanaka behind you suddenly popped into his full height. He started to explain more if the topic. He further explained that the photograph taken from the camera showed something special to the person. "Special persons?" Mey-rin, for some reason, blushed at the word.

"For real?" You questioned just as Tanaka explained once more. "One more thing, the precious thing does not belong in this world. In other words, they're dead." Now that was said, the excitement of the trio died down as the smiles on their faces were replaced with terrified looks. Ciel then took a picture of Finny to test it out. You waited as they went back from the red room for clearing the film.

"Oh! That's my little birdie!" Finny cheered as he pointed out to a little bit flying above him on the picture until realization hit his face. "My little birdie!!" He suddenly cried, realising that his tiny pet was dead.

You pat his back periodically as Ciel continued. "Take a picture of Sebastian with this, without him realising it." A few more bickering later, the servant left with the camera, excited to see test it out on Sebastian.

As you were about to leave last, you noticed a smirk applied to Ciel's lips. "Okay, mind explaining what're you smirking at?" You crossed your arms, turning back to him. "I was just curious if it takes a picture of Sebastian, knowing he isn't mortal, what might come out?" You furrowed your brows at that, suddenly thinking the same question. Ciel looked up at you, "Show it to me when you capture his photo, would you?" You simply nodded, "Sure," walking out of his study, you closed the door behind you.

Following the trio to the third and hopefully last location, the library, they hid behind a bookshelf, placing the camera between the books. "No, wait. Y/n, you think you can try to distract him?" Bard held up a hand to you, just as Finny turned to you. "That reminds me. They're in a relationship. Does that mean Sebastian special someone is her?"

"She's alive. I wanna see his dead someone. Come on, Y/n. Please?" Your eyes wandered to Finny, Mey-rin and Bard as they looked at you with pleading eyes, hands clasped together. You sighed in defeat and shrugged. "Fine, whatever." Just as the word left your mouth, they pushed you out the shelf.

The door to the library opened as Sebastian entered. "Ah, Y/n. Whatever you're doing here?" He asked as his eyes laid onto you. You peered over your shoulder, looking at the trio as they hid behind the shelf. They gave you a nod and thumbs up, causing you to internally groan. "What? Ciel told me to tidy up the library. Whatever reason he has." You grimaced, walking over him. That reminded you, what would appear if they took a picture of him, knowing he was a demon?

You put up a smile as you try to think of any word. Eventually, you gave up. "Look, I know you know what the trio are after. Can you just stand still for ten seconds? I'm getting tired of this shit." You blurted, far enough from the trio so that they didn't hear. Sebastian merely chuckled, walking over to you.

"What do you have in your mind?" He smirked teasingly, hand slowly slithering to your waist as a blush crept to your cheeks, knowing the other three were watching. "Or perhaps, something in mine?" He continued, leaning over you as he put his fingers under your chin, pressing his forehead to yours.

You didn't realize you heard a clicking noise from the shelf where the trio was hiding. "I guess that was enough," Sebastian said, pulling away from you. You growled at him, imaginary clouds forming up above you. "God damn you, Sebastian!" You grimaced through your gritted teeth.

"Now now, Y/n. They're relieved. No need to be so cloudy." Sebastian put up a smile at you as he exited the room. Did he just came here to tease?!

The trio emerged from the shelf behind you as you crossed your arms, tubing to them. "Satisfied?" You raised a brow at them. "Not yet. Let's wash this up!" Bard said, taking the camera with him. You released a tired sigh and trailed behind them.

As you waited for them to wash the film, you walked over them, seeing their progress. "So?" You loomed over the container of water, facing up to Bard across you.

"Not yet. But we got yours!" Bard said that made your smile dropped. "You took a picture of me?!" You shrieked, to your dismay, they didn't even listen to you. Though you tried not to believe the fact it might display someone special that had died, if it actually occurred, you didn't want them to see whatever you hoped the picture did not display. "Here!" Finny picked up the photo from the small pool of water. You let out a small gasp, snatching the photo from his hands before anyone could see.

Finny frowned at your sudden action. "Hey! I wanna see!" Mey-rin nodding along with him.

"No! I didn't give you my permission to take a picture of me, so this is mine!" You snapped at them, lifting the photo in the air to get it out of their reach. Bard opened his hands in curiosity, "But we're interested in your—"

"I said, NO!" You shouted. That surely shut them up as they stared at you in disbelief. Your eyes widened at your sudden blowup. You put down your hand, taking a deep breath, "Sorry. Just... No..." You sighed. They let out a long hum, focussing back on Sebastian's picture. "Okay, it's alright. Keep it." Bard said, flashing you a quick smile.

You responded with an uneasy smile of yours, feeling bad for snapping at them. You were just afraid they would see. You shoved the photo into your pocket, not having the bear to see it.

"Oh, it's starting to come out," Mey-rin said as she peered over Bard's shoulder to see the photo. Just as then, Pluto walked into the room, claws drawing out. "Plu - plu?" Finny called him, tilting his head. Suddenly, Pluto blew fire over them from his mouth. You, luckily, was on the other side of the room, not taking the flame.

The servants shrieked as they panicked and started to save the photo. Pluto happily strutted out of the room, leaving the trio. He barked at you, motioning you to follow him. You glanced over the trio, who were still trying to figure out what to do with the mess. Eventually, you followed Pluto as he led you to, the one and only, Sebastian.

"Well, I'm not surprised." You smirked, walking over to him. Sebastian crouched onto Pluto's level as he ruffled his hair. "Good job," He then gave him a snack as he chewed it happily.

"So, you teased me on purpose so they could take a photo of you just to destroy it before they could even see?" You summarised the situation, one which he replied with a light chuckle. "Maybe..."

You huffed a breath, walking past him. "Not only that. Pluto didn't burn your photo, didn't he?" His words made you stop in your tracks. Hesitantly, you turned your heel to him. "Why do you always know about everyone?" You shook your head, hand on your hip.

"Not entirely everything," he responded. You didn't speak out for a few seconds, thinking about the words. You pressed a hand to the pocket where you put the photo. "It's personal." You simply said, hoping he wouldn't say another word. Sebastian noticed your tone, he understood and respected your action.

"If you say so," He walked to you, cupping your cheek in his hand. You were trying used to it, you actually found it rather relaxing. "Well, I'm taking the young master to bed. Good night, kitten." He left a kiss on your forehead before headed towards Ciel's study. You watched him until he disappeared on a turn.

Pluto suddenly nuzzled his head to you, his fang sticking out as he kept rubbing his head to you. "Let's take you outside," you ruffled his hair, making your way out to the garden. Pluto followed you behind as you opened the door to the back.

"Oh, one moment." You said as Pluto turned back to you. You dug out the photo from your pocket, keeping the picture on the other side of the sheet. You lowered it to Pluto's mouth, "Spit some fire, will you?" You said. He took a sniff of the sheet before he spat a little fire to it, burning the paper.

You watched as the fire eat out the paper every second. You took a breath, slowly flipping over the photo to see the picture just before it ran out. Your eyes widened at the small figure beside your image. One that you knew too well.

Some part of you regret burning the picture, but at the same time, you wanted to, for you didn't dare to take another look at it. You watched as the photo turned to dust, the ashes drifted away by the wind. A sigh escaped your lips as you went back in after the photo was finished.
