『Chapter 11』

The next thing you knew after a couple of men knocked you out was you were placed in a cage wearing nothing but your cream chemise. Well... At least you felt it, you couldn't actually see a thing after they blindfolded you. Even though you put up a fight after they tried to gas you, they managed to catch you just like that. Defeat? No, you'd prefer outnumbered. You heard a bunch of bickering and shoutings as you guessed those were the people.

Ugh, more people...

"Now, you're gonna like this one. She's a rebel, as they said. I'm sure she's a biter." Oh, you could say that again. Suddenly, the blindfold on your head was pulled off. Adjusting your vision with the sudden lighting, you squinted to see yourself in a dark chamber, filled with nothing but greedy and selfish nobles. You gritted your teeth at the view, snapping your head as the host, Aleister Chamber himself, started his auctions.

You tried so hard not to fall into one of your memories. But with the dimmed candlelight, the bitter sounds of their laugh, the numbers coming out of their lips, it shook you a little. "So, anyone wants to start the first number?" Your eyes widened at the words, remembering your younger self, how scared you were back then.

But you had one thing straight, you weren't going to let yourself be weak again. Pushing all your thoughts deep down, you wiggled the rope binding your wrist, trying to somehow loosen it. As Chamber continued his words, you ripped off the rope and jumped, moving to the verge of the steel cage. You shrieked as Chamber turned to you. You took your chances and reached your hand up, gripping his collar, and yanked him until his face was pressed against the metal cage.

The audience gasped as you pulled him deeper. "I knew you were up to shit! Let me go, you imbecile!" You practically spat at his face. Chamber held on to the cage, trying to free himself from your tight grip. "You can beat me for all I care, but no one will come for you." He spoke up through his pressed cheeks.

You chuckled slightly at that. "Is that your dying wish? Because I tell you, you're wrong about that." Sending him a smirk, you let go of your grip on his collar. He brushed off the place you put your hand on before you reached back at him again, pulling his head to the metal bar and letting him go. It hurt a lot, you bet, as he dropped onto his knees, hands gripping his head.

Kneeling at his level from inside the cage, you whispered at him, "You're the one who's at lost here. The Yard is on their way here, mate. And you're all fucked." You spat out freely. To your surprise, he widened his eyes at you, stumbling backward. Just as the words escaped your lips, the room darkened as the temperature dropped. Screams and heavy footsteps were heard as the crowd scattered their way out of the room. Of course, who could it be?

When the light brightened the room once more, in front of you stood no one but Sebastian himself. You grumbled through your greeted teeth, "Took you long enough." Sebastian opened the cage easily, helping you out. Seeing you being underdressed, he took off his coat, wrapping it on you. The actions surprised you as you felt your cheeks warm up. You looked up to him, "... Wipe that smile off." You spat, seeing him smiling at you. He merely chuckled, "Good to see you too, kitten."

"Yeah, but I'm not done yet." You nudged at him, pointing to a figure hiding behind the curtain. You glanced at Sebastian, seeing him giving you the permit. You yanked the red curtain, revealing a terrified Chamber under it. He shrieked and put his hands up in defense. "Coward." You mumbled before pulling him up by his collar.

"Where do you keep the other ones?" You scowled, knitting your brows. "It's just you tonight!" His voice cracked as he pleaded with you. "Oh, please. I've been through this, I know there's more. Where?!"

"Backstage!" With that, you thanked him and threw him to Sebastian, which he quickly caught. You found your way backstage. Opening the door, you hear a few girls whispering to one another, but then it stopped when the light from where you came touched their form. "It's okay. I'm not them, you're safe." You scanned the people. Most of them were teenagers. Judging by their dresses, they were just commoners. This was sad, they reminded you of yourself.

They were still frightened at the right of you. You held your hand up, gesturing you're on their side. "We're with Scotland Yard." You convinced them. Luckily, they calmed down as soon as you talked to them.

As the Yard arrived, they held Chamber captive as they released the girls. One of them ran up to you, about 15 years old or so. She tugged your arm as you turned to her. "I heard you fought back the man by yourself." She started, you giggled and waved off her words. "Nah. I had help. Who told you that?"

She pointed her finger to Sebastian. You followed her direction, seeing Sebastian talking with Ciel. You hummed, putting up a smile at him. "I just wanted to say thank you, miss." The girl spoke once more. You smiled at her, the sight of her reminded you of yourself when you were her age. "Don't mention it, kid." You tapped her shoulder as she walked off, turning back to you one last time. You watched her as her family embraced her, grateful for her to be back.

The sight of it made your smile drop, your stomach felt uneasy as you clutched onto your skirt. Looking away and taking a step, you bumped into Sebastian. "How are you feeling, Y/n?" He asked, you pursed your lips and shook your head. "I'm... Fine..." You replied casually, walking off. Sebastian gripped your arm, forcing you to look at him, and asked once more, "What's wrong?" His tone was draped with concern. You furrowed your brows and yanked off your wrist.

"I told you I'm fine!" You snapped, or did it turn out more like a sob? You didn't want to share anything else, yet. You didn't know if you had the bear to.

The following week, my God you felt so lucky (sarcasm). Ciel had requested you for another case from the Queen. Hence, here you were, driving to some sort of place where he said he knew a person who could give him more intel. You accompanied Sebastian as he guided the carriage.

"You know, kitten. Some people say it would be easier if you wipe that frown out of your beautiful face." You knitted your brows, looking at him. He wasn't smiling like he always did. His lips were flat but his eyes were filled with nothing but concern. You found his presence somewhat relaxing. "Sorry, it's just..."

"You don't have to tell me about it. If someday you would, then I'm willing to wait for it." You watched him talk as he continued on the road. His words warmed your heart and you rested your head against his shoulder.

((My bad, didn't mean to put a Hamilton reference there.))

Maybe I should start letting him into my heart.

"You know, I never met someone like you." You whispered one which he replied with a subtle chuckle. "That should be my line." It's just that every day since he'd been with you, he brought out a soft side of you more.

"Undertaker?" You titled your head at the signboard above the dark wood door. Sebastian nodded at you, "He's been quite a help for us."

You hummed in interest as the three of you made it inside. "I see you have returned to me once more, Earl." A voice sounded from the end of the room. You couldn't see quite well for how dark the room was. Until a man with grey long hair appeared from behind a coffin-shaped desk. Black kinda like a dress robe with a matching hat.

When he arose from where he laid his head, his attention fell to you. "Oh? You brought a new treat?" He said, slowly making his way to you. You put on a straight face, moving away from him. Though at one point, when he got a good look on your face, his grin faded. He studied you for quite a while circling you like a predator staring at their prey. "You?... It... can't be..." His words confused you, and then he went back to his desk. He opened one of his drawers, staring down at whatever was inside for a while before back at you.

You shifted your gaze, curious of what he had just discovered. He then grinned once again, "That's for another day, I believe..."

"Undertaker, I need to hear what you know about the recent kidnapping. I need to know if they're ending up in another trafficking or whatsoever." Before Ciel could speak more, Undertaker interrupted him. He rolled over his desk, a wide grin mastered on his face. "Oh, Earl. We've been through this a lot. You know the price."

Ciel sighed and ordered Sebastian to do it for him. "No, no. You have a new addition, do you not? I wanna hear her." You shot your head up at that. "Say what now?"

"Basically, he just needs you to make him laugh," Sebastian explained to you as you squinted your eyes in question. "Sorry, do I look like a comedian to you?" You scoffed towards the Undertaker. He let out a small laugh at that, his shoulder shaking slightly. "You're quite the laugh. Let's see you try." He grinned.

You gritted your teeth, sighing in defeat as Coel told you to do it. "Fine... Here's one I heard from some guys at a local bar..." You grunted, putting your hands to your sides. Clearing your throat, you spoke up, " ((insert funny joke here)) "

You could say you succeeded when he laughed an insane laugh, hand on his stomach, another one on his forehead. You guessed the other two males behind you didn't have any sense of humor for how silent they were. You crossed your arms across your chest, moving behind.

"Heheee! I haven't laughed like that in a long time!" The Undertaker spoke through his catering teeth. Ciel let out a breath, "You got what you wanted, so?" He started. The Undertaker took a deep breath before he spoke. "All I know is the kidnapper strikes at night,"

"That's all? Is there an opportunity we can catch him?" Ciel continued, tapping his finger to his cane. "No... Unless if you want to trap him." The Undertaker dragged his gaze to you. You scrunched your nose, letting out a scoff, knowing what he meant. "Oh you've got to be kidding me," you groaned, glancing at Ciel.

"That could work. Can you lure him, Y/n?" Ciel turned his head to you. You frowned and shrugged, "What? It's not like I can say no to this."

((Did I did another reference? Yep, think I will make another one? Just you wait...))

"Very well, you'll lure this person to us," Ciel demanded, lifting his head to you. You breathed through your nose and sighed. "Sure..." A few bickering later, you went back to the carriage as you waited for the night.
