The night had fallen quiet on set, and most of the crew had left for the day. Inside Walker's trailer, only the low hum of the lights filled the space as Aurelie and Walker sat on the couch.

She was curled up with her legs tucked underneath her, the script she was holding forgotten in her lap. Walker sat beside her, leaning back, his arm casually draped over the back of the couch.

For a while, they had fallen into a comfortable silence.

Aurelie occasionally glanced at Walker, and he would catch her eye, giving her that familiar, half-smile she remembered so well. There was a tension between them, one neither of them had spoken about, but it was there all the same.

After a moment, Walker leaned in closer, his eyes soft as he studied her face.

His breath hitched slightly, his pulse quickening as he realized how badly he wanted to kiss her.

"Aurelie," he said softly, almost like a question.

She turned to look at him, their faces inches apart. "Yeah?"

Without saying another word, he leaned in and kissed her.

The kiss was soft, tentative, but there was a weight behind it—a depth of emotion that caught Aurelie completely off guard.

For a moment, she let herself get lost in it, her heart racing as she kissed him back. But then, as reality set in, she pulled back slightly, her breath shaky. "Wait, Walker... What are we doing?"

He stayed close, his forehead resting against hers as they both tried to catch their breath. "What do you mean?" he asked softly, his voice barely above a whisper.

She shook her head, her fingers still lightly resting on his chest. "I... I don't know. This. It feels like everything is happening so fast. I don't know what this is."

Walker smiled faintly, his thumb gently brushing her cheek. "It's okay," he said, his voice calm. "You don't have to have all the answers right now. But I've been wanting to do that for a long time."

Aurelie swallowed, her heart pounding in her chest. "So, you were wanting to kiss me this whole time?"

Walker nodded slowly, a hint of humor in his eyes. "Yes."

She arched an eyebrow. "Even when you were teasing me about stealing your snacks?"

"Especially then," he said, his voice low and sincere.

Aurelie let out a breathless laugh, but the weight of the conversation hit her again. "So... is this something that just... happened? Or... was it always there?"

Walker leaned back slightly, his hand still resting gently on hers. He looked at her seriously. "Wanting to kiss you? No, it's always been there. It's like white noise or background music. You don't always notice it, but it's just... part of everything."

Her chest tightened at his words. She knew what he meant. "I don't want to mess this up again," she said quietly, her voice trembling. "Last time we tried... it didn't end well."

Walker's expression softened. He moved his hand to gently hold hers. "I know. And I'm not asking you to rush into anything, Aurelie. But I don't want to keep pretending like I don't feel this."

He paused, his eyes searching hers, before he added softly, "You and I were one of those things that made sense, and it didn't matter how much sense it made to everybody else."

Aurelie's breath caught in her throat. His words resonated deep within her. It had always made sense between them, even when nothing else did. "Walker..." she whispered, her voice barely audible.

"We could live a thousand years," he continued, his thumb brushing the back of her hand, "and we'd never finish this—this thing between us. It's always been there. Don't you feel it?"

She closed her eyes for a moment, his words sinking in. Maybe she had been too scared to admit it, but she did feel it. It was that same spark, that same connection.

"I don't know what's going to happen," she said, opening her eyes to meet his. "But I'm willing to find out. I don't want to be afraid anymore."

Walker smiled softly, his hand gently squeezing hers. "Then let's figure it out, together."

Aurelie nodded, her heart swelling with a mix of fear and hope. It felt like stepping into the unknown, but for the first time in a long time, it felt like the right step to take.

Without saying another word, Walker leaned in again, and this time the kiss was different—more certain, more sure. And in that moment, neither of them felt the need to hold back.
