The sound of controllers clicking echoed from Walker's room, a steady rhythm mixed with the occasional excited yell or frustrated sigh.
Aurelie was sitting at his desk, spinning around in the chair, her legs crossed as she leaned into the mirror. She had decided to play around with some makeup, something she didn't normally take too seriously, but today she felt like experimenting.
She grabbed a bold red lipstick and applied it slowly, making sure to perfect her pout in the reflection.
Every now and then, she caught glimpses of Walker through the mirror, sitting on his bed, glued to his video game. His focused expression made him look completely absorbed in his world. Aurelie couldn't help but smile at the way his hair was falling into his eyes as he concentrated. It was a side of him she always found endearing.
"You're seriously going to beat me with that?" Walker's voice called out, breaking her thoughts.
Aurelie leaned over, smirking. "You're losing?"
Walker shot her a playful glare but didn't look away from the screen. "It's not like I'm trying to lose. The game's just cheating!"
"Uh-huh. Sure," she teased, carefully applying the red lipstick, then checking her work in the mirror. "I think I'm starting to get the hang of this lipstick thing. Maybe I should do this more often."
"You look fine without it," Walker said distractedly, still focused on the game. "But... it looks good on you."
Aurelie smirked, setting the lipstick down. She turned in the chair to face him. "You sure you're not just saying that?"
"Maybe I'm just saying it because it's true," he replied, not missing a beat. Then he paused, glancing at her with a grin. "You wanna play?"
She rolled her eyes, laughing. "I'm pretty sure I'd crush you at this. Maybe later. But right now... you look way too cute with that determined look."
Walker raised an eyebrow, clearly not used to being teased like this. "I look cute, huh? So you like what you see?"
Aurelie leaned back in the chair, crossing her arms as she threw him a playful wink. "I'm not saying you look bad, but you're definitely not winning me over with your gaming skills."
He threw his controller on the bed in mock frustration, then stood up and walked over to her. "So what are you saying? You're just going to sit there and flirt with me while I try to save the world?"
Aurelie grinned and stood up, stepping closer to him. "Maybe I am. I think it's working."
Without missing a beat, Walker took a step toward her, his smile softening. "I think you're right," he said, his voice quieter now. "You look even more beautiful up close."
Aurelie could feel her heart beat a little faster at the change in his tone. She looked at him for a moment, her fingers brushing the red lipstick on her lips before leaning in to kiss him softly. When they pulled apart, her smile couldn't help but grow.
"So..." Walker said, a little breathless, "You definitely just distracted me from my game. Mission accomplished, I guess."
Aurelie laughed, touching the lipstick on her lips again. "Maybe. But I think I need more practice."
"Oh, you're gonna practice," Walker teased, before pulling her closer with a mischievous grin. "But not right now. I'm getting back to my game. Just don't expect me to be able to focus."
"I'll make it worth your while," Aurelie whispered with a grin.
And with that, she turned, giving him a playful wave as she sat back down at his desk again. As the sound of his game filled the room, she couldn't help but feel like this moment, with him, was perfect—lipstick or not.
