THE MAD QUEEN
"Us Targaryens can be dangerous because if we loose the ones we love it can drive us completely mad"
✨ ✨ ✨ ✨ ✨
Rhaenyra knows what is like to lose the people you love. She was familiar with the feeling. Back then, she had no choice but to accept the deaths of her loved ones. When she heard the news about Hayley and Rebekah's death there was no one in this world who would be able to stop the woman from killing whoever was responsible for the death of her daughters.
FLASHBACK
"I can't believe Hayley and Jackson's pack agreed to be turn into hybrids" Henrik said as he watch the newly turned hybrids wake up. They had blood bags beside them to drink and complete the transition, thanks to Rhaenyra's blood. "Yeah, I really thought they wouldn't accept. They'll be breaking every bone in their body to not be sired to Klaus. But, I heard they want to be loyal to our family. Which means more allies for us" Rhaenyra replied making Henrik nod.
NOW
Rhaenyra's day had begun normally. She got up early and made breakfast, fed her kids and went to work. Freya was working on her magic with the help of Silas, Kol and Finn. Dean and Elijah were at the mechanic shop. Sam and Henrik were at school and Klaus was causing havoc god knows where. Hayley had called and told her mother she would be helping the hybrids adjust to their new abilities. Although she was no hybrid living with a bunch of old vampires and a hybrid had its perks.
Rhaenyra had never expected to feel the same pain she felt when she lost Finn. It was very unexpected. No one had seen it coming, not even the Queen mother herself. She was just getting home when she felt it and a few seconds later she saw it. Esther and Dahlia had used Rebekah to access dark magic and Mikael stabbed Hayley with the white oak stake. Rhaenyra let out a loud screaming, alarming everyone in the house.
Time felt slow for her. A second felt like a day. As she fell into the ground she felt a wave of magic leave her body.
Her children made out right after the wave, thankfully. "Mother, what's going on?" Kol asked. His mother turned to him, a sad look on her face. "My daughters are dead" she replied.
The words echoed in her mind. She had been the one who said them yet, it felt like they were told from afar. Silas made his way towards her but she stopped him by stepping back. Meaning she didn't want him near her.
"Please. Just... stay there" she said it in a whisper. Even though she could bring them back it didn't mean losing her daughters temporarily wouldn't hurt. She wanted to kill everyone and everything around her. Except her children of course. But she knew there were innocent people in the city. So, she called the werewolves from the bayou. She told Jackson what had happened but her plans to bring up her daughters back to which Jackson was thankful for. She knew the witches were responsible as was Marcel and his vampires. Marcel didn't know Esther and Dahlia were gonna to kill Rebekah so he blindly helped.
Rhaenyra's plan was easy. The vampires were gonna attacked the bayou. The hybrids, who by the way no one knew they were hybrids, would be waiting. They had orders. Kill every vampire they encounter. Rhaenyra would be meeting Esther, Dahlia and Mikael at the cemetery. Henrik, Sam, and Dean would stay at the compound safe and protected, while watching the newest members of the family. Klaus, Freya, Kol, Finn, Elijah, Silas and Rhaenyra would be going against Esther and the other two. One thing everyone was sure about, was that the enemies would not be making it out alive.
Rhaneyra, Silas and her children made it to the cemetery where Esther, her sister and her husband were waiting for the queen. Esther smirked when she saw her, but her smirk soon fell when she saw Rhaenyra's not so friendly face.
"I have to admit, I admire your determination on destroying my family" she stated before turning to Mikael and Dahlia. "Mikael, Dahlia. It's been a while" she greeted with a grin. "So, are we here to talk about how Esther failed as a married woman by not giving you children?" she asked with a taunting tone. "Or how you have failed at being a father? Because honestly, you were never good with emotions. Was that the reason you always punished Niklaus?" she asked. "He was weak!" Mikael replied. "So were you. But Niklaus was a nothing but a boy. You were a man. Or at least you looked like one. You have never been good. That's why you didn't go to heaven. You're a terrible person. You are the one doesn't deserve love Mikael! You are nothing but a pathetic excuse of a man. Who makes innocents fear him because he doesn't go against someone who's stronger than him!" she taunted the original vampire hunter.
Mikael launched himself at her but was met by Silas. "This will be between us, dear Mikael" Silas said as he walked over to the vampire. "My dear Esther you made a mistake. Tsk. Tsk. Tsk" she said as he walked around both witches. "You see, I know all about your plan with Marcel and his band of baby vamps. They are walking straight into a slaughter house. And the witches that aided you will be burned alive as you watch your little home to your ancestors burn to the ground" as she finished her sentence,
Drogon roared making his presence known. The two witches, the vampire hunter and Rhaenyra's family were right by the entrance. Rhaenyra walked over to Mikael who was kneeling. "Stand up" she ordered him. Silas pulled him up. Since it was late at night, Drogon was not visible. "I, Rhaenyra of House Targaryen and Velaryon sentence you to die" and with that Drogon made himself seen from behind his mother.
"Dracarys" she said and Drogon did his thing.
Esther and Dahlia watched Mikael be burned to a crisp, yet they never noticed Hayley's body beside his burning corpse. A few seconds later, Rhaenyra was gone. There was an eerie silence. And then they saw the flames from afar. It was Rhaenyra burning down the bayou with the vampires inside.
As they were all distracted Esther and Dahlia took the opportunity of going after the rest of the children.
Their little act of bravery did not last as Rhaenyra held both of Esther and Dahlia's throats. "Are you gonna kill us?" Esther barely managed to asked. Rhaenyra smirked. "Not yet" she replied as she let of the two women yet, they could not moved. "You know, I noticed one thing about you two" she started as she walked around them. "You love magic more than anything. Did you know that if you burn down the ancestral home of the witches, their magic dies with them? Even with a new generation?" she asked with a smirk.
Once again the dragon queen rode her dragon. But this time, it was for the cemetery, where all the witches were hiding. "That's madness!" Dahlia yelled at the woman. "Losing someone you love can drive you completely mad" she replied. For a second they heard nothing, until they saw the dragon spitting fire all over the cemetery. And a few seconds later Drogon's other brothers and sisters joined him.
It was all fire. That's all everyone saw. The original vampires could hear the screams of the witches, yet they did not bother. Rhaenyra made her way back as she watched her children finish the cemetery. Klaus placed Rebekah's body next to Esther's and Hayley's next to Dahlia. "Thank you for giving your life's for a greater purpose. You sacrifice will not be forgotten" she said as she touched their foreheads. "But don't worry" she began. "You, your sister and your husband will have an eternity of torture and misery where you're going" she told them.
Transferring their lives to her daughters and then, ending her lives so they could come back.
The three women woke up with a gasp. Klaus and the rest rushed to them. Rebekah and Hayley were confused. They had no idea to what had just happened. "What happened?" Hayley asked. "You died. You both did" Elijah replied. "How are we here then?" the she-wolf asked. "Our mother brought you back" Klaus replied as she helped Hayley up, Elijah doing the same with Rebekah and Silas the same with Rhaenyra. She said nothing. She stood up and walked away. She was too worried and consumed by guilt. And not the guilt of burning down the cemetery or the bayou but the guilt she felt for not being able to know her daughters had been take.
As she made it home she went straight to Visenya and Jacaerys' room. She didn't even greet her sons who became instantly worried for their mother. "What happened?" Dean asked as everyone else walked in. "We don't know. She brought Rebekah and Hayley back but didn't even greet them. She simply walked away" Kol replied. "She needs time. She lost her daughters and even though she brought them back it still hurts her" Silas said and they all nodded. Silas was right. All she needed what time.
Rhaenyra wondered if she was a good mother. Her children had been hurt plenty of times while she was alive. What if she couldn't protect Jace or Vis. All those thoughts stayed in her mind.
