Personality: 

Grace, in many ways, is a loose canon. Insulting her can go many ways. She may just shut up and take it, or she could rip your esophagus out. She has anger issues, and often isolates herself. Her biggest fear is disappointing her loved ones. She can seem self centered, but actually is just scared she's going to slip up.

Backstory:

Grace Eleanor Hamilton was born on November 24, 1804, to Eliza Schuyler and Alexander Hamilton. She was the youngest Hamilton child, born a few months after the death of her father.

When she was born, she was two months premature. Both she and her mother barely survived the ordeal. This, combined with being born on Philip I's deathday, the year Alexander died, caused Grace to be known as 'The Hamilton Curse', courtesy of President Jefferson.

On Grace's fifth birthday, her older cousin, Rachel, committed suicide by stabbing herself in the chest. As a trauma response, Grace completely forgot her cousin. She did the same when her other cousin, Richard, did the same the very next day. When asked about them, Grace would simply ask who in the hell they were.

On June 13, 1811, when Grace was seven, her older half sister, Wendy, also committed suicide. And again, she simply forgot the existence of someone she had loved. Though they would never admit it, the Hamilton family feared Grace was losing her mind.

Shortly after Wendy's funeral, Grace would meet two girls that would change her life. Mylia Jefferson and Annie Madison.

Mylia was Thomas Jefferson's adopted daughter, an orphan entrusted to him by a close friend. Annie was James Madison's youngest daughter. They were the it girls, the ones everyone loved. Mylia took Grace on as a 'charity project', someone to look out for and turn into a mini her. Annie was just along for the ride.

Not long after, Grace met a girl named Alyssa Murray. She was a sweet girl, younger sister of a seamstress who worked for Eliza on occasion. Grace and Alyssa hit it off quickly, and became quick friends. However, when Mylia found out, she became angry.

"Mylia said to me today, 'I can't believe you would choose a [redacted] over me!' She was so angry I want to be friends with Alyssa. Is it because of her skin color?" Grace would write in her diary, circa 1814. However, she would continue to be friends with all three girls.

Life continued as usual. Until May 17, 1817. Grace and Alyssa were sitting on the roof together, laughing and talking. Then Grace, in a burst of courage, confessed to Alyssa that she loved her in the way that a man loved his wife. Alyssa told her she felt the same way. So, Grace kissed her, right on the lips. She didn't account for Mylia and Annie to be standing on the ground.

Noticing that people had seen her kiss another girl, Grace attempted to take her life in an act of fear. She jumped off the roof, praying to be dead once she hit the ground. However, Alyssa grabbed her arm and hauled her back onto the roof, telling her death wasn't worth it.

Upon seeing Mylia again, Grace was immediately hit with blatant racism and homophobia. Both she and Alyssa were called several slurs. So, Grace dropped Mylia as a friend. For the rest of her life, she didn't speak to her.

For the rest of the warm months, Grace and Alyssa would go on picnic dates once a week. They would eat lunches packed by Diana, and talk, and kiss. Though they weren't even teenagers yet, they were in love.

For Grace's thirteen birthday, Alyssa got her a dress. Her sister, Josephine, had made it. It was Grace's favorite color, lilac, and made of the softest material she'd ever felt.

Things took a turn for the worse in December of 1817. Grace came down with scarlet fever. She became very ill, so weak she could barely move.

She died on December 26, 1817. Her dying wish was, "Tell Lys I love her." Her last words were, "See you soon, papa." She was buried in the dress Alyssa gave her for her birthday.
