As I stared up at the modern two-story house towering in front of me, my mouth dropped open in awe. The precise and aesthetic architecture was amazingly and professionally crafted, and as the sunlight glinted off the floor-to-ceiling windows in one of the large rooms upstairs, I spotted a pool area peeking from around the back of the house.

The soft twinkling lights, scattered throughout the garden on the front lawn and leading up to the porch, began to stand out more vibrantly as the sun set behind us, adding a whimsical touch to the outside of Felix's home.

After the embarrassing situation at the station had unfolded, I had gathered up the courage to ask the question which I thought the answer to was obvious— but apparently it wasn't, because Felix had answered affirmatively.

Which was why, as Felix invited me inside, I was now standing in his living room, which was connected to the large and generously furnished kitchen.

Felix set his helmet on the coffee table in front of the large sofa in the living room, and with a smile, motioned for me to do the same.

I set my helmet beside his, breathing a sigh of relief that I was still in one piece from the ride here. Sitting behind Felix on his motorcycle, I had wrapped my arms around his waist and held on for my life, quite literally. I shut my eyes tightly, and whenever I dared to open them and peek out, buildings and people were rushing past us in a blur, which made my stomach swirl more than it already was.

Glancing down at my helmet sitting next to his on the table, I decided then and there that owning or riding a motorcycle ever again was not for me.

I think I might be traumatized, even. Would I get flashbacks from this every time I saw Felix's motorcycle parked outside the station from now on...?

"Should we put something on while we bake?" Felix gestured towards the remote on the coffee table. I didn't notice it before, due to his helmet being set in front of it, which I was staring at, deep in thought.

I nodded and turned on the large flat-screen TV facing the kitchen, scrolling through options for media. Many of the comedy and romance shows in the selection had already been watched, giving me an idea of Felix's preferences in genre.

I kept scrolling, looking for one that I could play as background noise.

Classic Disney movies were a good option, but I didn't want to risk the temptation of randomly breaking out in song and embarrassing myself. I couldn't sing for my life...

Romance movies were a good option, too, since Felix seemed to like them, but 'Romantic' wasn't exactly the mood I wanted right now...

My eyes widened and I gasped as my eyes fell on a particular series, a simple text at the bottom stating that half of it had been watched already. I glanced at Felix over my shoulder, who had already taken off his jacket and donned an apron in the kitchen.

"No way, you've been watching Purely Pretty??"

He looked up and glanced at the TV, smiling at what I had landed on. "Yeah, it's so good! Have you watched it?"

I nodded. "Of course, it's one of the best Kdramas I've seen, I binged it so fast! It looks like you stopped at episode 12 though, should I put it on?"

"Sure," Felix chimed happily, beginning to set out the ingredients needed for the brownies.

I solidified my choice and started episode 12 before joining Felix in the kitchen.

I had wanted to pick something for background noise, that we wouldn't be distracted by, but we had barely finished the first batch of brownie batter and poured it into the electric mixer before the episode had our full attention.

We were both leaning forward on the kitchen island, staring into the living room, our eyes fixed on the screen in front of us as our mouths hung open in shock.

"She did 𝘯𝘰𝘵 just dump him!" Felix breathed with wide eyes, absolutely flabbergasted by what had played out. He popped another chocolate chip into his mouth, holding his handful out to me without tearing his gaze from the screen.

"That's what I said," I commented coolly, accepting some of the chocolate meant for the brownies from his hand and munching on it. "But I think her and the other guy make a better couple."

"Lee Seo-Hun?" Felix raised an eyebrow as he questioned with disbelief, before shaking his head in disagreement. "Sorry, I'm team Han Seok-Jin."

I turned my attention away from the episode to face Felix as I spoke. "I think Seo-Hun needed her more, he had a lot of stuff going on with his family."

Felix whisked around to meet my gaze. "So did Seok-Jin; The only person he had left, his mom, was about to die!"

"Seo-Hun's dad was about to die, too!" I crossed my arms. "He went through so much, he needed her to be there for him!"

Felix copied my posture, crossing him arms as well as he defiantly shook his head. "Nope, I'm team Seok-Jin."

I rolled my eyes. "Team Seo-Hun."

"Team Banana milk," Felix retorted.

"Team Strawberry milk." I examined my nails calmly.

"Team Okey-dokey-yo!"

"Team Ottoke ottoke!"

As Felix was about to open his mouth to make another counterargument, something cold and liquid hit my cheek.

I brought a hand to my face to swipe it away, and looking down, I saw chocolate batter smeared on my palm. I cluelessly stared down at it for another moment as the frantic electric whirring behind me grew louder.

Then it hit me — the realization 𝘢𝘯𝘥 another drop of brownie batter.

"The mixer!" Felix suddenly yelped, practically jumping across the kitchen to subdue the overworked mixer which we had forgotten about while watching the show. I ran to help him turn it off as we were both almost blinded by a barrage of chocolate batter being hurled in every direction, splattering against the walls and all over the counter.

Felix's kitchen was slowly being coated with gooey chocolate goodness as he covered his eyes to protect his face from the flying batter. The whirs of the mixer got louder and higher pitched, and I thought it would explode.

It was a bad idea to turn it on the highest setting, I thought to myself, trudging forward under the heavy rain. My clothes became completely coated with batter as I closed in on the out-of-control mixer.

"Shit, shit, shit, turn it off!!" Felix called from behind me, not able to see through the storm, drops of batter hitting his face like stinging hail in a chocolate blizzard.

I reached behind the mixer and quickly unplugged it. The mechanical whirs slowed, and the bombardment of brownie batter came to a stop.

My sigh was in unison with Felix's, but our exhales of relief quickly turned into huffs of annoyance and despair as we looked around at the damage. Walls and counters were splattered, and our clothes were covered in batter.

Trying in vain to wipe some of the chocolate of my shirt, I breathed in frustration, "Oh, fuck me..."

A silence drifted between us, and I looked up to see Felix desperately trying to suppress a smirk.

"...Don't say it," I ordered, pointing a finger and glaring at him with a knowing premonition of the joke that was coming, the joke that I had basically invited by saying something like that in his hearing range.

His mischievous smirk widened, and he leaned back against the kitchen island.

"Don't you dare say it," I repeated, but my efforts against his cheesy humor was ineffective.

He opened his mouth and announced with a perfect delivery: "Heh, that's what she said—"

I ran my hand along the counter, collecting a handful of batter and promptly smeared it on his cheek.

His jaw dropped in surprise as he stared at me for a moment, the batter slowly dripping down his face, before a smile took over his lips.

He reached out to take his own handful, and I took off running.

Soon, he was chasing me around the kitchen and living room, trying to get his revenge. His house was filled with our laughter, his threats and my pleas for mercy as I continued to barely evade him and his handful of batter.

The noise of our commotion and merriment almost covered the ping of my phone, alerting me that I had received a text. I ducked behind the couch and called out to Felix with a laugh, "Wait, wait, my phone was ringing!"

Narrowing his eyes at me from the other side of the couch, he paused, pointing a finger with his free hand, the handful of batter still in his other. "I'll get my revenge when you least expect it, " He threated, finally leaving me alone.

I smiled and nodded, snatching my phone from the coffee table. "Okay okay," I chuckled, turning my attention to the text.

My smile wavered when I saw that it was from an unknown number, and my face fell completely when I opened it.

My body went completely still, and my breath caught in my throat. My eyes scanned the text over and over again, sending chills down my spine each time I did, and my chest tightened with a pang of fear.
