Elias Carson - Axel shared a semi-close relationship with his father, but after he became abusive, their relationship took a drastic turn. Axel has since grown to become resentful towards his father, who forced him into his criminal underground business when he was only fourteen.

Although he has cut ties with his father, Axel never got closure after his father's passing which impact him in more ways than he possibly imagined. Though Axel refused to ever become anything like Elias, he unfortunately finds himself becoming plagued by his father when the detective starts mimicking his behavior and mannerisms [which led Serenity to get him a therapist].

Adelaide Carson - Axel shared a close relationship with his mother, but his relationship with her took a drastic turn when she ran away from her abusive husband, Elias, only to leave him behind [when she vowed to come back for him]. Since then, he has become resentful towards his mother [as she gave him abandonment issues, which would follow the detective for the rest of his life].

Serenity Carter - Though their relationship is briefly shown in Part of Your World through flashbacks, Axel and Serenity's relationship first began as a playful rivalry, which evolved into the two being a couple, getting married and having a kid of their own.

Unfortunately, some time later, Axel and Serenity's relationship takes a drastic turn when he starts being under the influence of alcohol, often abusing her [both physically and emotionally].

When Serenity got him a therapist, Axel appeared to be making progress, which led the detective to (temporarily) quit abusing his wife, entering a period of peace between the couple. Sadly when Axel starts skipping his therapy sessions and starts getting himself involved with unethical detective work, he ends up having an argument with Serenity, who has secretly been investigating his cases behind her husband's back.

The argument is naturally heated yet when Serenity brings up his father, Axel snaps and in a fit of rage, gives his wife a black eye before referring to her as his "worthless wife," which seems to be the last straw as Serenity kicks him out.

Zane Carson - Initially, Axel loved his son dearly, but after being under the influence of alcohol, he began neglecting his son. However, after having one too many drinks, Axel was relatively close to physically abusing Zane, which truly served as a sign that he needed help.

As Axel gradually became better, he started committing himself to Zane, which led him to discover his desire to retire as he wanted to strengthen his bond with his son, vowing to be the father Elias never was.

Sadly as Axel starts skipping his therapy sessions, drinking and getting himself involved with unethical detective work, his relationship with Zane slowly reverts back as he begins neglecting his son once more.

In spite of this, Axel is regretful of his actions, wanting to be a better father to his son, so after managing to sneak out of the Shredder's lair, he attempts to reunite with Zane, but after catching Serenity with her new husband and Zane celebrating his birthday with his new stepfather, Axel decides not to interfere, silently taking himself out of his son's life.

In between being a prisoner for the Shredder {for Little Sister: Briana's Story, written by Sci-Briana17} and working for the Foot Clan {in my version}, Axel has excessively wrote letters for Zane over the years in the attempt to maintain his sanity, using the letters as motivation to buy his time until he can escape.

Arcadia Cipher - Initially, Axel's relationship with the detective was nonexistent since he didn't want anything to do with the intern. However, he changes his mind when she ends up saving his life one night. As such, he quickly decides to be the girl's mentor, allowing her to accompany him on cases and shadow him.

Through the cases the two experience, Axel's perspective on the intern changes as he starts finding similarities in her that matches him. Because of this, their professional relationship starts evolving to one of a typical father-daughter bond. For some time, the two become close to the point where he begins hiring the girl as his personal babysitter to watch over Zane, who quickly becomes attached to his mentee.

Watching his mentee bond with his son and his wife with ease, Axel decided to surprise the girl by making her a permanent member of the Carson family [as up to this point, the intern was just considered honorary]. While his family approved of his idea [even agreeing to help him], Axel found himself having second thoughts when Jacqueline mocked him.

As a result, Axel quickly dismissed the idea and because of his lack of belief in himself, the detective began keeping his distance from his mentee, who was genuinely confused and concerned about what she did.

This mindset would affect their relationship, especially when Axel's excessive drinking and gradual disappearances from their assigned cases start impacting the intern, who is now stuck doing double-duty to maintain his reputation while trying to establish her own.

Their relationship gets slightly better as Axel attends his therapy sessions and tries to refrain from drinking. Unfortunately when Axel starts skipping his therapy sessions, picks up drinking and gets involved in unethical detective work, their relationship slowly reverts back, especially as he starts to go MIA [Missing in Action] which forces his mentee to put in twice the work to stay afloat.

So when Axel decides to bring his mentee on one of their last cases together, this should have been a great opportunity to mend their relationship.

While initial discussions between them point towards that direction, in the end, Axel's double-crossing moment intervenes, pitting his mentee to help him finish the job or go against him (and risk her life). When his mentee chooses to go against him, Axel has no choice, but to follow through on the orders given to him.

As a result, their relationship takes a drastic turn after Axel threatens to kill his mentee, even going out of his way to place the loaded gun on her head with his finger on the trigger, should she decide to escape with the young Princess Briana [OC belongs to Sci-Briana17].

Though the detective is able to see the errors of his way and helps his mentee escape, the moment will always leave a mark on the two. Sadly when the two reunite again, years later, their relationship will go through several challenges before the two will be able to mend the wounds of the past.

1. Axel's personality may seem different at first, but this is mainly because Zane will hold his father to a high regard (idolize him deeply). So when Zane starts uncovering secrets about his father, he'll start to see the kind of man his father really was [hence why, Axel's bio was created]

2. While Axel is only a prisoner in Little Sister: Briana's Story [written by Sci-Briana17], this is not the case regarding my version of the detective.

To differentiate him between Sci-Briana17's version of the detective (who won't be introduced until the third season), Axel is forced to work for the Foot Clan after he failed to retrieve the lost princess, owned by Sci-Briana17 [as revealed in Part of Your World's Chapter 15: Betrayal].

3. I know Axel got issues, but he got a therapist [courtesy of Serenity], so he'll get better as time goes on.

4. Yes, Axel and Serenity are in a toxic relationship, which is mainly driven by Axel during the lowest point of his life. However when Serenity ends their relationship for good, Axel would have gotten help [if uh, he never took on the case that led him working for the Foot Clan]. As a result, it'll be awhile before Axel is truly forgiven by Serenity for the way he treated her.
